This is a terrible tragedy! 🙁 Peeps who kill for sport or “fun” disgust me. Hope that they catch the perp, and as for what justice should be meted out to him, I have some thoughts. RIP handsome Cecil.

Sadly, it was an American. This is latest:
“On Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force said the man thought to have paid $50,000 (£32,000) for the chance to kill Cecil was not a Spaniard as originally believed, but US citizen Walter Palmer, from a small town near Minneapolis. The man left the lion skinned and headless on the outskirts of the park, the ZCTF’s Johnny Rodrigues said in a statement.”
The f**k is a dentist and social media being what it is in article that I read someone posts his name and office address. Why not, I say? Also features pic of creep and buddy posing proudly with the lion that they just murdered. Hope guy gets what he deserves. Just sayin’.

I have plenty of words, but none that are printable or readable here and you would think I opened up the gates of He!! if I started in on this person ( and I use the word person with disdain) He is disgusting. Like the female veterinarian who shot a cat through the head with a bow and arrow and posted it on social media. She has been fired, but the courts did nothing. In my mind she is a criminal who will probably find a job in another clinic somewhere. 😡 😡

OMG KZ, I hadn’t heard of that one! Of course against my better judgement I looked up story. The so-called vet “brags” about her kill! And will not face charges! RIP Tiger-boy, remember only those who loved you. 😥
As for that Walter Palmer dirtbag he now “apologizes” then goes on to blame his guides. Right! Too little, too late. If KJ were driving the Karma bus … 😡

I’m just horrified by this story. Pussigato, there are “humans” like that in many countries. Of course, to commit this particular crime, the so-called human would have to be wealthy and from a wealthy country. What shocks me above all, like the small-cat killing vet, is that he is a medical professional and is supposed to be dedicated to protecting life and health. I don’t think sadists like that should be allowed to practise medicine.

Sadly, animal abuse is not limited to one particular country. Aside from not being allowed to practice any form of health care, such peeps should do hard time in jail. Purrsonally I am not into the publicity that the I’Net/social media can bring, but in cases like these, with names/addresses made public at the very least it’s not likely that these murderers will work in their fields again. At least I hope that this is the case as there is a huge public outcry for justice to be served.

These stories get my juices going good, and it makes me so frustrated at the ‘justice’ system that sits back and does nothing. KJ, I agree that these people will be tried and convicted in social media, but that’s okay because they will have to try and live with the public that has seen and heard of their crimes. But you may have to move over on that Karma bus….it’s my turn to drive! 👿

Tks for petition link JK. Signed and included comment, staying clear of profanities, challenging for me. Thinking that Cecil might have been named for Sir Cecil Rhodes as founder of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe.) Clearly this country does not do enough to ensure the safety of the gifts that Nature has endowed them with. 🙁

In my haste read question wrong and voted incorrectly on poll (my bad!) site wouldn’t let me re-vote, nonetheless banning hunting side is winning in a major way. Pics of those cubs could easily do me in. I can’t stand fox hunting or any “just for fun” hunting either. Interesting, in my religion, hunting for sport is one-million percent prohibited. OK, I’ll get off soapbox now.

The jerk dentist was caught poaching and murdering a bear a few years ago and paid a fine for getting caught, so this is not his first rodeo on poaching and/or murdering another living being. His apologies fall on deaf ears from my point of view.

Exactly Deb. There’s no way that he can spin his way out of situation. Just heard on news that this excuse for a human and his co-murderers are having their membership in some Safari Club (for those of like-minded disgustedness) suspended pending a “full investigation.” What part of they murdered one of nature’s magnificent creatures do they not get? If this is the extent of this creep’s penalty I, and many others will not be content. Just sayin’.
