Red, grey or black, what’s your favorite color of squirrel? Squirrels belong to family Sciuridae of small or medium-size rodents. A group of squirrels are called a scurry or dray. Purrsonally, I think they are pests but many people like them. So go forth and enjoy these nut-burying, scampering animals.

I’m watching the “Equalizer” with Denzel Washington.

Saturday is Alia’s Violin lesson and then I’m going to the theater and see “Why Him?”

And…Football. Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!!!!!

    Crossover pic –

Evening all, haven’t been in for a few days but I’m here now. Weill try are read the backposts.
We have rain ! ! We desperately need this rain but of course it won’t be enough. Most of my flower gardens have dried up and died, a combination of hot dry weather and relentless winds and me not watering them as it takes too much water.

    😆 😆 😆

I’ve never seen a squirrel except on TV as we don’t have them here.

KZ, I hope the crud doesn’t interfere with your op. Scary about the active shooter so close.
Lagatta, I see you, hope you can get logged in to your usual account, if not send the KittenMaster an email of get one of us Moderators to do so but let us know what the problem is.
Deb, good to see you in the Cafe. 😀 😀
JJ, I hear you on the tie business. I also wish our politicians would ditch their ever present suits and wear something less like a uniform when they are attending occasions that aren’t ceremonial. They can look so out of place and stuffy in a suit when everyone else is in casual clothes.
Didn’t watch any of the inauguration as it all happened wile we were sleeping but the I’net surely has been full of every little bit of it since. Love your impression of Michelle in the helicopter after it was all over. I can just see her kicking off her shoes and relaxing back too.
The house here smells of smoked peppers, I did a pile today and will put them through the dehydrator tomorrow. We had chicken breasts butterflied with a half smoked pepper, basil leaves and a couple of long strips of zucchini baked in the oven for dinner. Tasted wonderful, especially the smoked pepper.
    Heading for bed.

    Waving @ Moonshadow 🙂
The smells in your house are visually pleasing, my taste buds are saying yes!
Looks like Northern Calif is being flooded out, http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/thousands-left-without-power-as-major-storm-slams-california-with-flooding-rockslides/70000621

    Waving back at you Deb.
Began watching a programme so not heading to bed afterall.
I see that further north from me the weather has been rather nasty this evening with power outages and trees down on an occupied car. I hope the people aren’t badly injured.
The weather in California sounds like some that was had here in the South Island a few days ago, it caused a huge amount of damage with slips and trees fallen especially on the alternative roads for use since the big quakes closed the main State Highway back in November.

I have been reading all the negatives about the new movie, A Dog’s Purpose, wonder how many people have read the book. The book makes one cry, there are so many terrible things that happen to the main character, the dog thru its various lives. The movie couldn’t possibly portray all the hurt that the dog felt.

I have seen that there has been some calls for people to not see the movie because of how the dog was treated but haven’t read the article. I haven;t read the book either.
Going to see La La Land this week, KK saw it and said it was great so Meegz and her grandmother in law(more of a mother in law really)and I will go together. Meegz and I are interested in seeing Hidden Figures too.
Getting a bit wild outside, I am glad I tied my tomatoes up better than usual and moved other plant pots around and cleared away leaves.

Awwwwwww brave Waffles the cat. Had to find the vid on another site as that one wouldn’t play for me here.
My TV programme is over so I will head to bed this time. I will have to fit in around HRH Shadz though who went up with her Daddy to bed. That’s the problem being last up.
Nighty night Deb, good chatting with you like we did in the old days.

Glad that it played on the other site.
Hidden Figures is a good movie, the book is better of course.
Don’t know if I want to see La La Land yet, Lynn doesn’t like musicals so I would have to go by myself, that whole getting dressed thing and then going out in public even.
The winds here are nutty and supposed to last thru the next couple of days, the outside kitty was even lying in the cat bed I bought him (he is a stubborn one).

Thankfully with it being Summer or supposed to be, dressing up isn’t going to happen. We are quite a casual people during Summer.
Those darned winds are terrible when they don’t stop, we’ve had strong winds here since before Christmas and they don’t stop. Fires in both city and the country have become all too common with everything being dried out by the winds. That’s why I’m glad of the rain tonight although it will be only a short reprieve from the dry.
    Nighty night Deb.

Hello all – most of you know how I feel about squirrels, “tree rats”, as my father affectionately called them. They are oh so cute, and very funny, especially when they chase each other around. However, they intimidate the JJ crew, and muscle in on their food. Oh well, good thing they’re cute!
MS, your kitchen aroma sounds heavenly!
Hi Deb – not sure if I will get to the movies so I may read “Hidden Figures” and “A Dog’s Purpose”.
The sun has come out here in Jersey. A nor’easter is expected to roll in tomorrow with lots of rain and high winds, oh goody. I’m thankful it won’t be snow, and they say the rain totals will be enough to be a drought-buster, but I’m certainly not a fan of high winds or too much water in a short time. Feeding the cats in wet weather is challenging because there is not enough shelter for everyone to eat under. For now I’ll enjoy the sunshine.
Go Steelers! I’m also rooting for Green Bay tomorrow.

Afternoon all! PG, the squirrel theme had me lol ….. Miss Caddy is definitely their nemesis around here! They have vacated our yard, and skirt the perimeter ….. she has taken down quite a few! Lol

We’re about an hour away from the children’s parade starting, so it’s getting busier and louder. Caddy doesn’t seem too bothered, she’s hanging on the porch with me and A’tuin

Next weekend will be the craziness, so I’ll have her put up …..

    Enjoy your caturday all!

Hi MS, Deb, JJ, and lurking TDKers,

I just got back from the theater. We saw “Why Him?” and was laughing so much.

I want to see “Hidden Figures” and also “Split.” Usually, I won’t read the book, if I see a movie. There’s too much artistic license for my taste.

    Evening all,

Squeee!!!! The kit and squirrel cuddled up sleeping!

The only squirrels in my n’hood are the grey variety, although the occasional black squirrel has made an appearance, Now Ontario, the next province over is supposedly rife with black bushy tailed furries.

Finished some work and now time for coffee and noms.
Fog warning in effect – creepy!
Speaking of which, I like M. Night’s films, but don’t like going out to movie theatre, will wait until film makes it to TV.

They are. Hope you caught my post on my pet show X-Company in the popcorn thread, though be warned, I cried deeply after the most recent episode. Of course it is fiction, but it is most historically accurate, says she of the useless lit and history degrees.

    Hi lagatta4!

X-Company is one of my fave shows, if not my fave show! I don’t even wait to watch a few episodes, have to catch it like the night after I record it. From what I’ve read much of the show is based on true events. Yeah, the latest episode, when the young woman was singing (don’t want to give more away,) I was done in. 🙁 Interestingly one of the show’s creators (Stephanie Morgenstern) was at McGill at same time as me. I did not really get to know her, but we were in the chorus of Savoy Society G&S operetta.

    Paws up all !
We ended up seeing Hidden Figures this afternoon. Wow ! ! Excellent movie for so many reasons. We thought it was quite symbolic that we saw it just after the Women’s March and Martin Luther King Jr day. Do go and see this movie, quite moving, frustrating, shocking and yet heart warming and positive.
Well Summer couldn’t make up it’s mind so we had sun and rain all with the ever present strong winds. Sh fields further south had Winter size falls of snow -30cm and more.
HRH Shadz spent the day in her ferny retreat, the ferns meet overhead and protect her from the heaviest rain. She has a network of tunnels winding through the ferns and we know to not look for her there as it’s her private place. When she wants us to see her she comes and sits out in front.
