Trail blazing is an adventure no matter where you do it. Each year millions of people take to the great outdoors, hiking paths new and old in search of themselves and the love of nature. Trails Day celebrates these intrepid souls and all the unexplored areas of the world where nature still reigns supreme. Hiking is good for the soul, and for your health, getting into the great outdoors has been proven to aid in non-clinical depression and an overall sense of well being. Of course, the big outdoors doesn’t appeal to everyone.

Hiking and biking trails are everywhere in Colorado. It’s a beautiful state but if you’re not into the great outdoors, NYC may be good option. 😉

My evap. cooler is up and running. Yea! Maybe it’s me but I remember learning to do a job right and be on time. *sigh*

I don’t normally post these but it’s for abandoned kittens:

    Happy Caturday TDKrs!
There are trails everywhere around here. It was super humid yesterday and combined with the sudden growth in vegetation made the trail by the lake feel like a tropical rain forest!

Yesterday I encountered a dead mouse in the driveway. Then saw lots of feathers and a prize catch by the back door. As I unceremoniously removed the unfortunate victims I couldn’t help but think maybe they are now teasing Shaddo and Jiggs at the Meadow!
Oh and I didn’t have to look far to find the guilty party/supreme hunter/gift-giver: Huey came strutting to me with a feather on his whisker. He flopped down at my feet, seemingly very proud of himself. Good thing he’s cute!

😆 at JJ’s Huey…little brat….oh, but killing birds makes me so mad–but they feel like they are giving you gifts.

PG, me too on being timely and efficient and also letting people know when you are coming or if you’ll be late. In this age of cell phones it’s even easier to do!

MS, ummmm yes, I’ve used the outdoor litter box on several occasions. I have always tried to stay away from the poison ivy while doing so too. And yes my green beans were bent with the little seed part still attached, but now they are upright with two leaf layers already! My basil (two kinds–regular and purple) are doing well also but they are in my kitchen herb bed by the door, along with rosemary, oregano, parsley and sage.

Good afternoon from a wet and wild Sunday. It’s been raining off and on all night and morning and getting heavier with heavy downpours forecast for tonight until tomorrow morning. Mr MS and I nipped out and loaded some large dead dry branches to add to Mum’s firewood stack. This wood is heavy and dense so will burn slower and hotter.
PG thanks for the link, we had one on TDK years back that we all regularly clicked on, don’t know what happened to it though.
JJ, I can just picture Huey strutting up to you for praise. Airy came home to feathers all through the house on Friday, they never found the body so suspect Coco had a free feed.
KZ, the outdoor litter box and I are no strangers because of my camping and Guiding days but these always involved deep holes away from water courses etc. Mindful pooping. 😆
Wow your beans really are growing fast. I’ve grown the purple basil and also grow the large leaf sweet basil. I had a beautiful dwarf Greek basil plant one year that grew in a tight tidy mound and was really good in salads and other dishes but haven’t found it since.
Lunch time now, it’s not at all cold today because of the rain but something warm will be good for lunch.

Late to the Cafe today! …. got up this morning and walked 3 miles down the Bayshore, beautiful sunny day – water was smooth as silk! Mr. AV was playing golf and Son is in LV meeting with his bosses, so I had the majority of the day to myself. Nice! …. went to the grocery store, then chilled on the porch with Caddy and my book … girl has learned the ‘luxury’ of ice cubes on a hot day – she sniffed it, batted at it, licked it, then realized it was cool, fresh water and loved it on a 90 degree day!

Afternoon naps ensued, a long soak in epsom salts and an early DVR night for me! Have a great evening all!

    Evening all!

I would not do well with an “outdoor” litter box. Or nature. Or trails Oh well!

PG, good that maintenance guy finally did his job. Are peeps getting stupider? Post person arrived at N’s with pkg, rang bell but could not be troubled to actually knock on door so she had to p/u her new shoes at post office.

Did srsly sleep some today. Yest very not good. Seems that whatever stuff I took was making things worse to where I was feeling very not good at Knitting Circle. When one needs bthrm less stressful to be at home. I left a bit early but o bright side cohort brought me oodles of kit charms ad I have/will have many prs of earrings.

Anyway could not reach any med profs. So called specialized pharm that is fully aware of situation/KJ and was advised to stop stuff for wknd until I speak with nurse on Mon. So, well a bit better. The stress that goes along with this is at times unfathomable and I totally lost it in several phone messages. And would I to go into more detail it would not be doing a favour to any of us. OK, enough.

Started watching a film that I erased as a total waste of celluloid! “Sword of Vengeance”, Saxons vs Normans. Forgetting that the Saxons of C10 were totally Christianized, cf Alfred the Great who was centuries earlier. Film made them out to be unsophisticated tree worshippers. Think I’ll give “Dracula Untold” a go.
