Thanks to Jeankit’s Fun November Facts, the Cafรฉ today is “kitted” out as a library in honor of Book Lovers Day. Tall bookcases reach to the ceiling filled with every story imaginable, with those cool sliding ladders to help the library kitties reach the top shelf. Unlike traditional libraries, though, they will not be shhhh-ing anyone, food and drink are welcome. In fact, there is a scrumptious buffet set up in the east wing; coffee, tea, cider, donuts, croissants, scrambled eggs (with ketchup for those *twitch* that like to spice things up), hash browns and oatmeal: anything you desire! Me, I’m grabbing a cup of coffee and curling up on a comfy couch with my latest library find: The Silent Miaow by Paul Gallico. What are you reading?

Good Morning PC! the Cafe looks wonderful! …… ‘book lovers’ theme is perfect for me today, as it’s a lazy rainy Caturday and I’m curled up still in my pjs – purrrfect time to read a good book! Right now, I just finished the first of the ‘Walking Dead’ series, it was a super-easy read……. I’ll probably pick back up on my Terry Goodkind sci-fi series from the Ledgend of the Seeker…… I’m in about the third book so far…….

… Abby is making me laugh, she’s trying to bury under a stack of pillows she looks like a ‘bump’ under the covers!

I’ve not read Terry Goodkind, although I am a sci-fi fan. Always love a good series: once I find a “world” I like, I don’t want to leave! Would you recommend Ledgend of the Seeker as a good starting place for his books?

Hi PC – wow, look at all the books! I just downloaded ‘Love Saves The Day’ by Gwen Cooper.

Around these parts, it’s not unusual to have ketchup (catsup?) on eggs. Me, I could go either way. I often refrain from condiments so as to get the full flavor of the food.

Awww, did you see over there in the sunny corner where the kittens are? Mama cats are reading first baby books to kittens, how cute!

I could go for a glass of cider. The stuff in my fridge isn’t too fresh anymore. Oh well, I drank most of it before it got weird.

    Morning again my friends ๐Ÿ™‚

Just got my paperback of ‘Love Saves the Day’ by Gwen Cooper ๐Ÿ™‚

My home library has such a great assosrtment of children’s books, I sneak sending some of them to Rebecca as I can. Once they move to Japan, I won’t be able to do that as they will have to watch their household goods weight even more, sigh. My favorites are by Jan Brett and Steven Kellogg, love their artwork and Jan’s have a story within a story by the pictures on the sides of the pages ๐Ÿ™‚

PC, I loved the British TV show “the Legend of the Seeker’ and it was based on Goodkind’s books! ….. that’s what got me started on them…… it’s quite a lengthy series, but I like the story, so it keeps me reading……

Joan, my Son loves ‘hot sauce’ on his eggs…… and here in Tampa, we have a big Cuban influence, so many places serve scrambled eggs over white rice, topped with black beans and of course hot sauce……. it’s different, but very tasty!

Over the past few months I’ve read “A Modern Witch” series by Debora Geary. They’re not the scary creepy witch kind, rather the ‘do no harm’ kind, with the characters being regular people who happen to have various powers. Fun series.

I am reading Sleep Doctor by Stephen King! It is a sequel to The Shining. Danny is all grown up and things are jumping in his life! I read From Baghdad With Love WWM it is a great book! And I am also reading about 5 books on Common Core.

It is cold here, but the sun is shining and it is time to clean the house! No matter what I do during the week, there is a bunch of animal hair that needs removal from EVERYTHING!

Enjoy the beautiful Fall/Spring weather and have a wonderful day!

That looks interesting Commune. Will check it out. Thanks, Ladies, for the other suggestions.

Problem: I don’t care for the GMT time sense. My mind is not always up to computing. When the time was listed as “3 minutes ago” I was easily able to tell how current the posting was. Now my 68 year old mind gets confused.

I agree completely, PJ. I wonder if there’s any way to get that feature back? I for one have no idea what the difference is between GMT and my time zone and I have no interest in figuring it out.

It’s that pesky math-thing popping up again. I prefer to think of it as the unique, time-bending quality that sets ‘TDK’ apart from any other location… kind of our own ‘Bermuda triangle’ where the outside world, its schedules and clocks, aren’t really relevant. We’re on “TDK’ time!

The What’s-Going-On column over on the right side of screen does give the “minutes ago” at least for the most recent comments – just have to look at all parts of the screen, which I am still kind of finding my way around on. Oooo, that’s not very good grammar is it? Reminds me of the joke about “ending your sentence in a preposition”. First version I heard had a Midwestern girl getting the last word, so I identified!

I also agree about missing that old feature.
At one time I had downloaded and installed something called ” time zone clock” .It can be customized and have multiple time zones listed. It was free and the zones were also listed by well known cities in the indivual zone. After you piCked the city zone ,it could be renamed to a person’s name that would be easily reconized and that way you knew what time it was in their zone. It sure made it easy for Cindy to cope with the difference between her and Pipa’s Mum ‘s time

I think we discussed these sometime back. I hope some will find this useful. There is also a site called the Gutenburg project that has many of the classis.
