You would think that dumping a cup of coffee on the keyboard would make it faster and more responsive, but noooooooooo, it just makes half the keys non-functional. I use a split keyboard and the spare one we have is a regular one which is making me crazy. And I can’t get a new one until next week and I have a ton of computer work to do today. Darn.

Poor Cheetah just walked on the printer and accidentally made it print a test page. He jumped halfway up the wall then flew out of the office with a tail as big as his large belly.

Silly computer coffee is for humans!! Cheetah you have to talk to Teaser–she LOVES the printer!! It is like a great toy that you can attack and the humans say jam and yell a lot–but they are funny when they wait for that paper to come out!

LOL at the theory that coffee would perk up the keyboard. My kitties are amazed when the printer comes to life too….especially if they made it come to life by stepping on the right button.

oh, Cheetah boy! CBM, you need one of those keyboards I see in ads…it’s got big numbers, it’s yellow to see easier, and you can dump any kind of liquid on it and it somehow pours right thru without damage!

Gracie is fascinated by our DVD player. Everytime we watch a movie, Hubs has to open and close the door several times for miss Gracie. She can’t figure out why all of a sudden this thing appears and then goes away again!

You should get an IBM Model M keyboard. That’s what I use. I have one for work and one for home. Those things are so sturdy, I know people who clean them by running them through a dishwasher. Here’s just one of many I found on ebay:

A few years ago I got each of mine for about $10. They’re more expensive these days, but I’d still gladly pay $50+ for mine. Nothing else really compares. I expect these keyboards to last the rest of my life.

I also forgot to mention, many versions of the Model M keyboard have drainage channels around the edges of the keyboard, lessening the risk of spilled drinks getting into the electronic components. They really thought of everything with these keyboards!

CBM, did you pop off the keys and give everything a good cleaning? It might be residue that is causing the problems. I clean mine with q-tips and alcohol.
