This week has been a very stressful one for me and Mr B.. first we take in little tiny Tim and he passes away but we knew that would probably be the outcome we just wanted him to pass peacefully surrounded by love..

Then we had the trauma of Ms Moneypenny escaping late last night!! basically to make a long story short after hours of searching and it being 4am I manage to get her back inside the mobile.. let’s just say the stress levels were through the roof! I thought I was gonna have a heart attack with the worry!

But inbetween all that trauma I recieved a call from a rescue a couple of hours away from us. They had a litter of CH kittens just 8 weeks old.. two had mild cases and would be easy enough to find homes for but one had what they discribed as a sever case of CH after
seeing a video I thought it was a moderate case but still more than most Irish households would
take on and would need to be indoor only and have someone that knew how to deal with this disability and know what his surrounds need to be like to stay safe and stimulated at the same time..

Well Mr B and myself decided to give this little one a home.. we will be collecting him on the 11th of this month . so we will have a home with 4 very special kitties πŸ™‚ as I already had our home set up for Buttons disability (which also made him wobbly sometimes) and never changed it so Noodle could cope better and Moneypenny also being as she’s not great with jumping and gauging distances I think we have everything already perfectly set up for this little one.

I have ordered a comfy Bed for her though as I don’t have one on the ground for the gang as they sleep on the couch and this little fella may not be able to jump well enough to get up to the couch. So Mr B wants to call him Mr Γ“lta which is Irish for Mr Drunk (us Irish have a very dry sense of humor!:) )

    so here’s Mr Γ“lta πŸ™‚

hi Kandy .. CH stands for Cerebral hyperplasia which is a condition that effect a cats brain and cause tremors and loss of stability and coordination. it is not painful in anyway for the cat and there can be very mild cases to very sever cases.. if A pregnant female is exposed to FeLV while kittens are in the womb or she’s malnourished or exposed to certain bacterial infections it’s possible that one or more kittens can be effected by CH. there is no cure but CH cats are very loving and very happy cats that require indoor living arrangements…

my other three are Miss Teeny Tiny Nutini she suffers from PTSD ( sever anxiety ) but she has settled down a lot over the last two years.. Then there’s Mr Noodle Kaboodle he had his front right leg and shoulder blade amputated when he was 8-9 weeks old his leg was badly disfigured and he is also clinically blind in one eye.. the Ms Moneypenny isn’t the smartest of cats God bless her.. she’s missing and eye and it’s a constant battle to save her remaining eye due to two conditions she has dry eye syndrome and feline herpes those two combined make for spontaneous eye ulcers .. we also have two barn cats called Dr Jekyll & Ms Hyde they’re brother and sister… and we have 4 rescue dogs also πŸ™‚

You and Mr. B are the best, taking in kittens that most would not, and a challenge with all of their special needs. Mr. Olta is very lucky to be coming home to you!! πŸ˜€

AH yes KJ we both have a dry sense of humour πŸ™‚ Dorry will have to come visit this little one when he arrives! I see the Wormhole is going to be busy I about 10 days time πŸ™‚

Kandy so sorry about your hand tremors I suppose like Mr Γ“lta you just get on with things πŸ™‚ everyone needs a spirit kitty!

I definitely suspect myself and Jane will be doing a lot of talking about CH MS πŸ™‚ 99% of CH cats are PTS here in Ireland if they even make it far enough to get to the vet . simply because there aren’t people in Ireland that will accommodate special needs cat that need indoor security πŸ™ but with what I do I hope to change a few people’s minds!

I really hope it’s the right home for him KZ the main thing is he’ll be with us before he’s 14 weeks old so he’ll still be learning socialising skills and he’ll adjust quicker to the new environment. I also have the shelter posting me out some of his bedding and used litter so I can start scent soaking and also start using my positive association techniques with my Gang. they’ll know him before he even gets here and when he gets here his smell is already in the area making him settle in quicker.. and I’ve already made the alterations to the designated litter tray area.. my gangs trays are up off the ground on an old coffee table and Mr Γ“lta’s tray will be underneath for easy access and I’ll alter it to give it a lower access point to help him get in and out easier..

hope all the scent soaking works now! I pride myself of a harmonious household!!He’ll also have to adjust to the dogs as all the others have πŸ™‚ not often you see 4 dogs and 3 cats all chilling together πŸ™‚

You are special people. It’s beautiful that you take the hard to place babies and love them and keep them safe. Thank you and God bless you.

LOL at the dogs and cats all on the couch together!! So cute, and I’m sure they all give you the stink eye if you even think about trying to sit down! πŸ˜†
Great idea on the scent soaking–good on you for thinking ahead. Of course that has to make all the difference and when you bring him home, they will have already sniffed him out and know that he’s not a stranger. Some might think you have done this before!! πŸ˜›

πŸ˜† it does seem fimilar πŸ™‚

I will also have all my gangs claws clipped just before he gets here as I expect a lot of head swatting for the first week at least.. but that’s ok it can’t be perfect from the get go.. it will take a week or two..
