Please give a huge TDK welcome to our newest Star Kit, Tumbles. He is an 8 month old DSH from Jacksonville, North Carolina.
I was a vet tech at a cat specialty hospital when a woman ran in with a tiny towel covered in blood; in the towel was a tiny black and white kitten that had been thrown out of a car window; the woman could not keep him but wanted to leave him with us and she would come back for him later and find him a home. He was lame in his front right leg; had a laceration extending his eyelid; multiple scrapes and cuts but was purring. I decided I needed this kitten even though we had 3 cats.
He was about 10 weeks old and weighed a pound. He was fed through a syringe for a few days; had x-rays of his legs; flea treatments; antibiotics for his wounds and sutures for his eye. The leg was not broken but there was extensive nerve damage; we tried laser treatment but at 4 months he had the leg amputated. He’s had 4 surgeries including another amputation to remove the rest of the bone and several damaged teeth. He’s the happiest cat on earth now and loves anything to do with snuggles. He still hates cars.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce!
Mr. Tumbles is for sure a survivor! What a tough start in life, but I’m so glad that you were there for him and always will be. As for the so called person who threw him out of a car window, I haven’t the words, or rather I do have the words but they are not suitable on a family-friendly forum. Grrr!
Tumbles is on his way to a great life. I adopted a tripod who lost a rear leg after many attempts to fix damage from a tangle with a car. Nelson was named after the admiral who also was short a limb and he was a happy, healthy, loving (as boy cats tend to be) lap rat for the rest of his life. He was a little snarky when I added a little Burmese kitten, but they became best buds and she ruled the roost. Two of my favorite cats over the last 50 years. Tumbles could not have found a better human to enjoy life with. Life without a cat is unimaginable.
You are an angel on 2 feet. Thank you for saving this cutie from what could have been. Like they say there is a special place in heaven for pets and the people who loved them. Thank you.
“He still hates cars.”
As do 93.74% of all cats.
Tumbles is a handsome mancat! I’m so glad he’s being cared for.
Oh valiant cat!
He is such a strong, brave boy. Thanks for rescuing and giving Mr. Tumbles a loving, furever home.
I hate people 🙁
“Little stomper”, indeed!
What a story. Equally impressed by your devotion and his huge will to live.
May you have many delightful years together!
Proof of their intelligence. My Renzo hated cars and my Livia seems to as well. It gives them a better life expectancy.
I hear you, but “people” includes not only the pile of fetid !@#$%?& who inflicted such terror and torture on a tiny, innocent being, but also those who saved him.
I would hate cars too. But as a human, I find it more disturbing that someone could throw an animal out a window … whatever window. I am so glad that God placed a guardian angel there to scoop Tumbles up and bring him to get help. And for his new furrever family to take him in no matter what his obstacles are in life. Bless you all …
I love black faces and white whiskers! Tumbles sure had a rough start, but certainly has the best care ever!
