I would like you all to join me in giving the warmest of welcomes to our Star Kit for today, Babything. He is an incredible 24 years old from Ohio.
Babything found me in a parking lot, where some mean kids were throwing stones at him. I picked him up and he stayed with me for what is now 24 years. He is very thin and frail, but he still enjoys his food and napping in the sun. He has always been a sweet mellow little guy and the most beautiful peachy cream tiger color. The other kitties wash him occasionally and I keep him clean also. He can still jump up on the chair to nap.
Even though his little body is so frail, his eyes remain alert and his hearing is also good. He can still see the birds outside and like to look out the window. I will miss him terribly when he is gone but until then I try to make sure everyday is comfortable for him and make sure he gets lots of love. I think of the song Memories from Cats when I look at him.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.

Senior cats are awesome! I love how Babything’s coat is a bit disheveled – the mark of an elderly kitty who has earned such a fine look. Thank you so much for rescuing him from mean people. Handsome Babything has a wonderful life thanks to you. He most certainly will live on in your heart forever after he must leave this life.
Wishing you treasured moments together
You are wonderful.
I’ve been looking at this site for years now but this is the most moving thing I’ve seen. My very best wishes to you and your entire feline family. You really are wonderful.
Thank you.
My Renzo, a mere youngster at 19, sends licks and purrs to Babything. Renzo has thinned as well; he is part-Siamese and was never fat, but now I can feel his spine. Think that is gradual kidney failure? Renzo was a stray kitten as well, black like Babything’s friend.
Babything is a beautiful cat. I’d love to see actual baby pictures of him, if you have any from his kittenhood. It is very important to keep senior cats clean, both by brushing and combing them and also checking their paws and their behind. Some elderly cats have a hard time keeping those clean because of arthritis, and cats can’t abide being dirty.
Wow what a beautiful thing i hope you have many more years with sweet Babything. Sometimes i wish cats could live as long as humans because they are such good friends i want mine to grow old with me.
Ancient FUZZ
FUZZ just keeps going
aw, that’s so wonderful! And you are so fortunate to have had him for so long. The longest any of mine have lived was only 18, still pretty old I know but… there is never enough time with our pets!
I hope you’ll still have some more years with your beautiful kitty!
He’s very sweet, I’m glad he has such a good life.
Sweet Babything! My Atticus will be 17 on June 10, and as you are to your human, he is the love of my life. He is lying here next to me, mighty impressed at your 24 years! And wishes you much health, happiness and sun beams in your golden years.
Purrhaps the name caught me short, but before i read his story I thought that Babything was a little kitty. He certainly does not show his years and blessings that you have more years with his companionship. Love the pic of him basking in the sun! 🙂
What a most precious kitty Babything is! I can’t say what is in my heart any better than those before me have. He is ancient of days, but surely young in his heart, like people our bodies give way long before we are ready. Thank you for rescuing and caring for him!
Thank you.
What a fine old gent. You must have taken really wonderful care of him all those years. Especially from such humble beginnings, but it’s proof of a life well lived, that he’s still alert and able to enjoy his time as your family.
Mr. Babything is a very handsome guy! He’s had a life full of love and caring thanks to you. He will always be a part of your heart.
Stunning eyes!!!! Just incredible!!!
I am in love with Babything! I adore senior cats. Many kisses and gentle ear rubs to him. 🙂
You saved Babything and gave him everything he needs. He looks very happy to have lived his life with you and that he’s grateful for every day he’s part of your family. Thank you.
You and Babything have had a very special relationship. It is obvious that you have taken great care of him. I know you will miss him when his time finally comes. But remember, you will see him again over Rainbow Bridge some day down the road. He will live in your heart for forever.
When my dearest baby left me too early due to cancer I was devastated. I too think about Memory from Cats and as such my alarm plays Memory with Sara Brightman every week on the day and time he passed. It has now been 6 years, 11 months, 3 weeks, 4 days, 20 hours, and 14 minutes since he passed. I miss him every day.
Bless you for years of devotion and love you showered on Babything. The Universe sure put the two of you together at just the right time that day so many years ago.
My name is still Bobosmom though Bobo passed over 4 years ago. I will honor my sweet boy forever.
Yay – it’s time to take your bow & accept Star-kit status for 24 pawsome years!
Thanks for all the kind replies for my little guy. I do not have any kitten pictures as Babything was about 1 year old when he came to me. Thank you for posting him on The Daily Kitten!
PS…that is JiggyBug, his Manx friend keeping him warm in their bed!
Yes, Renzo and I say hello to JiggyBug as well!
Sadly, Babything passed away on July 12. He will always be with me in my heart. I will always love him and miss him.
