Please welcome our Star Kit, Tacs. She is 5 months old from Texas.
We got Tacs from my Mimi, and we gave two of her siblings to some friends. Those two siblings disappeared one day, and Tacs soon disappeared as well. We believe she was taken by a local hawk. Soon after, her only sibling left at Mimi’s disappeared as well, but since Mimi lives by a small woods on her land, we weren’t surprised because cats commonly disappear, most likely caught by coyotes.

Sorry to hear you lost your 4 legged little girl. Hope you are going to get another one. I’m getting an emotional support animal licesence for a stray cat my husband and I named precious. At first we thought he was a she but I found out she was a he. Good luck in the future.

Please don’t post stories like this one. I know bad things happen to animals, but I don’t want to read about them. We need good news in this crazy world.

Poor sweet Tacs. Michaelene, I also find some of the stories on this site are painful reading – so many of the kits are rescues and orphans, which means an awful lot of kits have been neglected or abandoned – but I think it’s important for people to be able to post stories to express their grief and pain. It’s also a good reminder to all of us that kits will and do get into trouble despite our best efforts.

So sorry for your loss please keep your cats indoors if you live near dangerous predators such as coyotes and hawks! Please tell your friends and neighbors also. If they start out as indoor cats they are used to it and grow up comfortable with that lifestyle. Just cant leave the doors open and have to be careful they don’t run by but usually they get used to it and don’t try to run out especially once they are 3 and older. Even in a big city we decided to keep our cats indoors due to cars, disease and awful people that can encounter your cat. Unless you can build a catio or some type of completely enclosed yard that no predators can get into and your cats cannot get out from it is safer to keep them indoors! Hearing these stories is heartbreaking please learn from mistakes and you’ll have a cat that will be your family member for many years!
