Please put your paws in the air and wave hello to our Star kit, Paddington. He is 3 years old from Apex, North Carolina.
Hi, I’m Paddington (formerly Sabretooth at the shelter) and I’m Brudder’s brother. I’ll be 3 on May 6th. I was in a room a couple of doors down from Brudder and had never met him. I was 4 months old when my mama came into the room where all of us really young kittens lived. Oh, my. Her heart was broken so I rushed right up to her and jumped on her back to let her know I was here. If I didn’t do that, how would she see me? There were so many other cute kids and I was a little funny looking. Small, black, with a tail longer than my body. Didn’t matter – she was my mama.
The counselor took me off her back so she could meet other kitties but I would not be deterred. Up I went and this time I crawled up to her shoulders and down her chest into her arms. I then began to purr like a Mack truck with my head squarely on her heart. I could feel the sadness leaving and she turned and told the counselor that I was the one. They didn’t even know who I was without the chip reader! But I knew and my mama knew.
Well, then the whole room got ear mites so Brudder and I didn’t get to go home for 6 more weeks. But mama came every time the shelter was open until we were able to go home. He teaches me and looks out for me and we really love each other. Mama told us all about the Broop (TDK August 6, 2014) and why she was so sad when she met us; he had just gone to heaven the week before. We love him too and look forward to meeting him in heaven.
The first picture is me at the shelter. My tail is so long half of it is still in the tube. The second picture is me in my very favorite position. My tail is still longer than my body, but it never bothers me. The third picture is Brudder and me loving life and studying the Bible with Mama! I’m on the left side.
