Smokey
Please join me to pay tribute to Star Kit, Smokey. He passed away aged 15 years old.
Smokey was my best cat ever! He was with me from age 9 weeks to 15 years. I had to say goodbye to him on April 16. It has been 2 weeks today and he has been on my mind all the time. It will take a long time to get over losing him. I still have two 5 year olds, but they have completely different personalities. I just wanted to memorialize Smokey here. He was featured here a couple times when he was younger. He was my “pet of a lifetime.”

Smokey was a stunning gentleman cat who now lives on in your heart. So very sorry for your loss.
Smokey, you were a beautiful, beautiful cat. You have left a hole 15 years deep in your human’s heart.

I understand your loss and pain as our 17 year old cat Moonshadow passed away on April 24th. She was part of the family since she was 6 weeks old.
Hold those memories close and smile at them.
So sad. My 20-year-old Renzo died almost two years ago, in June 2016. I still cry about him, and don’t think I’d even be alive without him, when certain “humans” were particulary vile, for no reason I or true human friends could even gather. I guess we just have to remember how important they were to us and us to them, and bring it up when ijuts say he or she was “just a cat”.
Smokey was so very lovely, with such a smile.
Sweet Smokey had the best meowy and will be missed. He’s across the rainbow bridge watching over you always.
It’s so hard to lose a wonderful pet, but we have to remember how wonderful they were and consider ourselves lucky that they POUNCED into our lives. Smokey looks like a dear departed cat named Bodhi who went to the Rainbow Bridge a couple years ago. I bet he was there to greet Smokey (and Moonshadow and Renzo) when they arrived.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement everyone. Smokey was more than a pet to me. He saw me through so much, a divorce, moving 3 times and living in 3 different states with me, the death of my best friend. He was always there and ready to cuddle with me. Some people just don’t understand how important a cat can be. He was special and he was my reason for looking forward to going home. This coming Monday will make 3 weeks since I said goodbye. I have lost other pets and I loved them all, but Smokey was that special one. Thank you again.

Beautiful kitty. I’m sorry for your loss. Sometimes, the pain never ends for the really special cats that have graced us with their presence. Hoping your other cats give you comfort as they probably miss Smokey almost as much as you do. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: “heaven is when I am surrounded by all the cats I’ve ever loved.”
Thank you! I sincerely pray that my heaven will include Smokey! If it is God’s will Smokey and my other pets will be there with me.
