Desdemona and Pascal

Please give a huge welcome to our Star Kit’s, Desdemona and Pascal. They are 14 years and 11 years old respectively from Colorado.

Desdemona and Pascal

Desdemona is a fluffy buff tabby and Pascal is a sleek black kitty with a few white markings. They have been live-in companions with me for the past 10 years. I adopted Pascal as a kitten when he was a smoke tabby. He grew out of his black-on-black stripes within a few months. He goes by “Doggie” because he fetches and unfailingly comes to me when I call him (unless there are strangers in the house). He is a one-human cat and devotes himself to me. Desdemona joined us at an estimated 3-5 years of age when Pascal had just turned 1 and we had recently lost our queen of the castle, Dulcinea, at a young age.

Desdemona had just had an FHO, but was – and still is – very eager to be loved by everyone she meets. She took to Pascal in a very short 3 days – and to me immediately. When I told her her new name, she looked at me as if to say, “I don’t care what you call me as long as you let me stay with you forever.” She also always answers to her nickname, Mona, and is loved by all cat-people and non-cat-people who meet her as she is very adoring and adorable. Early on I worried that maybe a cat with a bad leg wasn’t the best friend for an extremely active kitten, but the vet said he would likely get her to exercise and that would do her good. She certainly does her share of the chasing as well as the being chased! Pascal was despondent at the loss of Dulcinea, but Desdemona soon brought him out of his funk.
