It gives me great pleasure to introduce you all to today’s Star Kit, Abby. She is from Thomasville, North Carolina.
This is Abby, a former feral cat who decided I was to be hers. While walking in the parking lot for exercise this little lady would watch me and at times let me get within five or six feet of her, but that was as close as she would allow at first. After beginning to take her a little food she actually started looking for me and would wait for me. I noticed her ear had been clipped where she had been trapped, spayed and then released back into the colony. She seemed to be unafraid of people and would not run unless someone got too close. After a month or so she would let me get within a few feet while she ate and at times would sniff my fingers if I held my hand out toward her.
As she got used to me she started rubbing her head against my fingers and at times would actually let me scratch the top of her head, this was a slow process as if I made any move she did not like she would poke some holes in me with claws or teeth (ouch). Then came the attempts to trap her, but first I needed to get her to go inside the carrier. After several tries I was able to get her comfortable enough with me being close to the carrier that while she ate, I was able to get the door closed and bring her home, after a trip to the vet for a checkup and shots she came home for good and after months of gaining her trust she has turned into a sweet little lady.

Pounce!
Slowly but surely Miss Abby and you started what will be a purrfect relationship. Concats on her choosing you to be her “servant.”
😉 She is one stunningly beautiful noir kitty! 🙂
What a gorgeous beauty Abby is! Wishing you many years of love and companionship.
Lucky that Miss Abby chose you for her furever hoomin. She’s gorgeous and have many loving times together.
Thanks for being so patient with the beautiful Abby – winning her trust and giving her a great home.
She is beautiful. I know your patience has paid off for both you and Abby. Wishing you many long years of love.
She’s a darling little lady. Livia, also a small black cat (but a shorthair, unlike Abby who looks “medium-haired”) who was living rough. But not feral, probably escaped or abandoned in a move. You must be proud that she chose you as staff and housekeeper!
Patience has its reward!
Great save. Glad you spent all the effort in coaxing her into a carrier and taking her home. Hope you have many happy years with this Black Beauty. Cats rock!
Beautiful mini panther! She chose you.
Awesome – I love the story of you and Abby, the reluctant feral who decided to make her own destiny. She is absolutely beautiful and it is great that she gets to be safe and happy with you!
