Please give a warm TDK welcome to our Star Kit for today, Atticus. He is 17 years old from Toronto, Canada.
Hello great big world! My name is Atticus, and I just celebrated my 17th birthday. I adopted my Mom when I was barely 6 weeks old, and we’ve been best friends ever since. You’ve met the rest of my family – they’ve all been Daily Kittens. There was Malcolm the little redhead, Gandalf the handsome black cat, and Mae, the little grey and white lady who turned 16 this past March. For a 17 year old, I’m doing pretty good for myself. Now, I will admit to having cataracts, and I have 8 fewer teeth now than I did when I was younger, and there’s the pesky diabetes. But, the diabetes is well under control, and I never put up a fuss when it comes time for my insulin.
My job (OK, I guess Malcolm helps too) around here is to make Mom smile. See, (now don’t be sad!) she’s been a bit low of late. My sister Mae passed away 3 weeks ago at 16 years old. She’s now with our brother Gandalf, he passed away last September at 8 years old, and Mom still feels sad about him too. But, fortunately for her, I take my job seriously, and she smiles everyday thanks to me. And Malcolm.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce!
Atticus is surely a big help in the smile department. I’m so sorry for your loss of Mae and Gandalf, but it sounds like Atticus and Malcolm are trying their best to keep your spirits up.
Awww! Atticus is a sweet senior kitizen! Sorry for your losses, but it’s good that you have Atticus (loved the book that I assume his name comes from) and wee Malcolm to keep you purry company. BTW Canadian kitties rock eh? 😉 From me and my silver grey tabby Dorry in Montreal.
Oh, now, some of us like the older men! Glad you’re keeping mom happy, it’s a circle.
So THAT’s a cataract??? Wondered what was going on with my Mewfer’s eye.
Hi Atticus – Happy Birthday! You are very handsome. I am sorry for your losses and your mom’s sadness. You probably do a great job (with Malcolm’s help – someone has to teach him the ropes) making your mom smile. You know the importance of your job and it sounds like you take it very seriously. Senior kitties rock!
Your hoomin is indeed lucky to have been adopted by you. I love that you are a handsome and quite dapper guy , Mr. Atticus. Happee Birfday!
