Please join me in giving a warm TDK welcome to our Star Kit for today, Little Bit-Diamond. She is a 7 week old Siamese/Tabby mix from Pittsburg, California.
My husband was doing a kitchen remodel job and I had gone over to help, one day I happened to see and petted a female stray (but not wild) cat. I later found out from the neighbor that she had already had one litter, only one of which is still around (animal control had managed to pick up the other 9). A week later I discovered that “Mama Kitty” was once again pregnant. Fast forward in time to May 1st and my husband came home with Little Bit. Apparently, Mama Kitty had been moving her new litter, and had left Little Bit and 3 of her siblings in the front yard of the house to go get another kitten. Well, Little Bit is the one that he picked out for me.
You see I also have a 10 yr old turquoise Calico, Sweety Bear, to whom I am extremely attached. I have actually lost her twice, and totally fell apart both times. Thank you God for returning my baby not once but twice!!!!!!!!! Well, Tom, my husband, felt that when, in the extreme future (fingers crossed), my Sweety passes on, I would definitely need a buffer zone so that I don’t fall completely apart. Well, Little Bit has firmly established a place in my heart. For 1 week, I got about as much sleep as I did when I had my first child, almost none! I bottle fed her and stood watch guard over her. You see my Sweety is very spoiled and not very happy with the new addition. The first two photos are of Little Bit, the third photo is Sweety Bear.
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Pounce!
Little Bit is adorable – such a cute wee thing! Thank you for sending a pic of Sweety Bear too, she is beautiful! I’m sure she will show Little Bit “the ropes” and have a young friend to hang out with.
Wishing all of you many happy times together!
Little-Bit Diamond is darling. You have a wonderful husband who not only looked out for the kitten but you as well. I hope Sweety Bear learns to accept the new kid, but it can be difficult for the “Queen Bee.”
Since Little-Bit Diamond’s mom is not feral, it would be great if she was captured, spayed and released. Life is so very difficult for the moms and kittens trying to survive on their own.
What a cutie. I’m glad that she is safe.
Both precious jewel Little-Bit Diamond and Sweetie Bear are adorable!
Wee LilBit Diamond is adorable. No doubt, Sweetie Bear is jealous but, with some equal time, she’ll tolerate LilBit. Thanks to your husband for rescuing both of you.
I got a LilBit but he’s an Orange Tabby.
Little Bit-Diamond is such a wee cutie. She will have a wonderful life with you.
Sweety Bear is very similar in colouring to my own Shadz, we call her the dappled darling. Perseverance and love will bring Sweety Bear around to accepting Little Bit-Diamond.
Have to second the comment from Bobosmom about spaying and hopefully finding a home for ‘Mama Kitty’.
And if cats are kept indoors, they stay a lot safer and healthier and don’t get lost.
