Pounce!
What a tiny cutie! Good luck to raising her! Thank you for taking her in!
Raven is adorable! Thank you for rescuing her.
Raven is precious! There are many online resources for raising tiny kittens. Google ” orphan kitten”
KMR is a milk replacer for kittens. You can feed her with an eye dropper or small bottle.
Be sure to ” potty” her by rubbing her tummy with a warm cotton ball.
Also, be sure she stays warm , place a small stuffed toy in her box for her to cuddle next to.
Good luck! 🙂
I use a washcloth wetted down with warm-to-the-touch water, and “wash” their little behinds like a momma cat would. That stimulates them to go (they go stiff in an usual-looking position that once you’ve seen it, you will recognize it). Once they’re going on their own, you can stop.
Do that every time after she’s had a bottle. This is very important. Also feed regularly, using KMR (kitten Milk Replacer). If you can, get the momma to nurse her at least once… it helps to give antibodies to diseases. (Hopefully, she nursed a few times before being abandoned.)
Keep them warm too. We heat up a water bottle and wrap it in a big towel, and then put that in a cardboard box. Put a rolled-up towel or stuffed animal in with them, and if it gets cool at night, put a towel over the box so she stays warm. Little kittens cannot stay warm on their own, but if it gets too warm for them they will crawl to someplace a mite cooler (make sure that there is enough room in the box for them to get away from the “water mommy” (water bottle) if they wish, but that they will be on a towel at all times.
Also rub her body with your hand… like a mother cat grooming a kitten. It stimulates their organs to begin functioning as they should.
Good luck with Raven. We’ve got a few kitties that were “bottle babies”, including one all black except a few white hairs… they make the most loving kitties, and they bond very tightly with their humans!

Your new baby is adorable – check out those teeny needle-sharp claws. Plenty of good advice from posters above. Congrats and best of luck with your little one!
You have taken on a huge responsibility and one that can come with loads of rewards if you are very careful and diligent with the care you give this little one. Please first go to the vet with this little one to get all the right formula you will need and possibly vitamins, and dropper. Kittens at this age cannot regulate their body heat and must be kept warm, you can ask the vet or look on line it’s a kitten warming disk that you put in the microwave for whatever the instructions say. Feeding is done around every 2 hrs and through the night as well, so it’s a good idea to get the whole family involved. Also after each feeding take a warm wash cloth and gently rub the kittens bottom for around a min or until the kitty goes potty, very gently this will help the kitten go to the bathroom, since momma cat would lick kittens behind for her to go. Buy a smll digital scale or see if the vet has one they can lend you, daily weight checks are very important to make sure the kitty is gaining weight. Remember to check for fleas and ear mites, You may need to take her temperature as well to you should also ask the vet about this. If you need to take her temperature (ask vet first) since female have two holes the top one is where you would take her temperature. Good luck you are doing a wonderful things saving this kitty’s life
Sorry i forgot to say that the dropper is for feeding the kitten with. The warming pad is called Snugglesafe Microwave Heatpad. you can buy it on line if you can’t find it at the vet/pet store.
Kittens can’t regulate their body temperature for around 6 weeks, also if the vet suggests you take the kittens temperature have him show you how and you will need to buy special lube for the thermometer. If i think of anything else i’ll let you know.
One more thing, after all is said and done, should this little one not survive, please remember it has nothing to do with you. Kittens at this age are very vulnerable and sometimes survival outcomes are very low, no mater how hard we try. Just remember you did your best. It’s not a reflection on you. 🙂 Sending you positive vibes !!!
If after the 1 min of rubbing the kittens bottom and she hasn’t gone, don’t worry about it, she will most likely go after her next feeding.
Raven is such a wee cutie, the first thing I thought was Raven scissor hands. That is an impressive set of claws.
Lots of great kitty mamas here. Go to the “chat” section of this website if you need more assistance. You will find all the help you need. Wishing you and Raven all the best. Bless you for rescuing this itty bitty kitty:)
Foster folks rock!!!
welcome to tdk and u found the best place for info! omg what a precious little black pom pom cotton ball!
Bless you for rescuing wee Raven! It can be challenging caring for an ittah bittah kittah but so worth every minute. The biggest thing (after the vet) is making sure she gets feed regularly. This does mean getting up every 2 hours for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, you can cut back to every 3-4 hours up to five weeks old, By the time she is 5 weeks old, she should be ok with wet food.
Anyway, Thanks so very much for giving wee Raven a chance at life. Foster Meow Moms are great!
Please keep us updated on wee Raven progress. Please ask the TDKer’s any questions you have because there is a wealth of information here.
Best of luck with little Raven. I hope she grows into those claws!
I have no advice, only warm wishes and prayers for Raven to grow up big and strong. Bless you so much for taking this baby in.
Must rave about wee noir kit Raven! Our very little cutie patootie the Star-kit of the day at TDK!
One more tidbit… when Raven gets to the toddler stage, keep her away from recliners, especially those that rock.
The other thing you must watch for with Raven is that is doesn’t get dehydrated you can again ask the vet about this. if Raven does get mildly dehydrated the vet will recommend that you give her SQ fluids under her skin, The vet will show you how to do this and will have everything you need there. Thinking about you and how you are making out.
Raven is all claws and fuzz! Good luck on raising such a tiny kitten. There’s lots of help here and I’m praying that it all goes well.
AWWWW looks just like my two foster kittens a few weeks ago 🙂 !!! Good luck!!! Check out my kittens to Ollie and MrMeowgi!!
