Location: Hochheim, Germany
Before we moved to Germany, my husband and I used to do foster care for kittens in Washington state. Schultzy came to us as a lone kitten with no siblings or mother. His name was Rojo at the time due to his lovely red color. Our cat Squeaky (shown on the right in this photo; Stinky is shown on the left) is a great kitty foster mommy and she took a particular liking to Rojo/Schultzy. After he spent a few weeks in our home, it was time to take him in get neutered and then put up for adoption. I dropped him off at the vet on my way to work one morning. I told my husband we wouldn’t be getting Schultzy back and I could see he was disappointed. Several days later I came home from work and lo and behold, there was Schultzy in our house! My husband had stopped by the adoption center, saw that he hadn’t been adopted yet, and brought him home. All for the sake of Squeaky, of course. The rest is history. Schultzy is now 4 years old and is our million-dollar kitty. He unfortunately has kidney issues. He is still kitten-sized and the vet thinks he just never developed properly, maybe due to being malnourished before we got him as a kitten. So, we have spent lots of money on care for that and he now gets subcutaneous fluids at home that will hopefully keep him alive for years to come!
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Schultzy is adorable! I like how he’s making a face behind the grownup’s backs! Your hubby is awesome for adopting him. Glad you are able to deal with his health issues; cats can live a good life with the kind of care you are providing for him.
Wishing you much happiness together!
I’m glad Schultzy is safe and happy with you. What a cute photo of him with the other cats snuggling him! 🙂
“Halp! I’m being squished!”
Hooray for your husband for adopting him.
I…
can’t….
breathe…..
Ha, fooled you, I’m all snuggly with my siblings. Thank you for taking care of Mr. Schultzy. He is so lucky your husband didn’t listen to you :}. May your entire family have many loving, happy times ahead.
Very cute picture. Gotta love a guy who loves cats. ^ ^
Your husband rocks and so do you!
Luv the little guy with his marmalade coat and tripey socks!

Oops I meant stripey socks! Where’s that spellchecker thingy gone and hidden itself LOL.
Bless you for fostering and adopting! Obviously, Schultzy needed you in so many ways. Kittens with a rough start in life can have lifetime issues. But I think we deeply bond with those that we nurture through it all. Good luck with his treatment.
Oh you and your husband are assured a place in heaven. Sweet Shultzy. At first I thought he had two heads!! Sweet kisses to all your fuzzies.
What a cute orange kitty!! Maybe your doctor has told you but also the type of food they eat can make a huge difference for any kidney issues. My friends cat had something with this and switched to another type of food so it was easier for the kidneys to break down. Especially dry food can be bothersome if they have sensitivity to this. Ask your doctor if they haven’t already told you 🙂
What a cute pic! I am so glad you have each other & Schultzy can get great care. I wish him a long, happy & healthy life.
What a gorgeous kitty. Your husband does rock. There’s something about men and cats that melts the heart. 🙂
Lol! At first I thought he had a tiny head and a huge body before I realized he was being squished by the other two. Whew!
