I’ve been living in DC for a year and a half, and really missing my family’s kittys back home. After thinking about it for over a year, I finally decided to take the leap and adopt a kitten. I went to the shelter and fell in love with this adorable ginger kitten who wouldn’t stop purring. I filled out the paperwork to adopt him, only to find out that someone had already put in an adoption form for him. A week later, the shelter called and told me his first adopters fell through, and did I still want him. I was thrilled!
Harlan is a feisty little fellow just like his namesake, Justice Harlan (I)! Harlan loves to climb things, especially the screen door, and when I come home from school or work, I hear him meowing at the front door. Every time the door opens, he runs out to the hallway, much to my dismay.
Harlan refuses to drink out of his bowl, preferring the fresh, cool water straight from the faucet. He also refuses to eat human food. Of late, he has developed a taste for ice cream, but only the expensive brands.
Harlan is quite a handful, but I love him very much! He also has his very own facebook page, which he loves to update
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.

Obviously Harlan was destined for you! I love the account of his taste in food. Doesn’t eat human food but likes expensive ice cream? Well, he has good taste in ice cream–I’ll go along with that. Very dignified looking ginger guy.

My boy won’t eat any human food except for yogurt.
I’m so happy that your adoption worked out exactly as the Universe planned. There’s nothing like having our furry friends waiting for us when we get home.
I purchased a water fountain for my cats, hoping they’d find it as lovely as drinking from the running tap. Nope, but I guess we can’t blame them.
