OMG, that’s horrible! Poor little Goddard… He was a beautiful boy.
she was a beautiful cat. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful girl she was. I hope you can hold memories in your heart and cherish them. I also want you to know many people in the world are fighting for stronger punishments for people who hurt and kill animals. *hugs*
It would be great if you could kill the neighbor and not get caught. Sounds like they don’t deserve to live.
You need to report this horrible act. Many states have severe penalties for this. One more reason to keep kitties indoors only.
What aq beautiful tabby Goddard was. I’m so sorry for your loss of her. Please report said neighbor to police so they’re on record. Bad Karma will take care of them also. Goddard deserves restitution & penalties are getting stiffer for animal abuse these days. Hold onto her memories.
I agree with Sheba’s Mom and feral who urge you to report this crime to the police. Also, if your neighbour keeps any animals, they might benefit from the authorities scrutinising how THEY are being treated. Animals abusers are the lowest of the low.
Goddard was a beautiful and unique kitty.
And I just thought of something else. If your neighbour would do that to Goddard, there is nothing to stop him from hurting your dogs if he gets the chance, as well as other people’s cats. You would be doing everyone a favour to report this heinous crime.
How utterly horrible! Your neighbour must be reported to the authorities, no one should get away with harming someone else’s family pet. Cats really do belong indoors, they are so much safer and live twice as long. My condolences on your loss, she was a beauty.
I am in complete agreement with Sheba’s Mom, feral and especially Oona; report this, if you haven’t already. Get a paper trail started. That slimebag may try to harm your dogs, or a neighbor’s pets, or (God forbid) local children.
Goddard was a beautiful little lady, and I’m glad you gave her a home, even if only for a little while. She’ll be waiting at the Bridge for you.
I’m very sorry for the loss of such a beautiful cat. Goddard sounds like she was quite special; thank you for sharing stories and keeping her memory alive. May this angel live forever in your heart.
Poor kitty! That is beyond comprehension. This precious little lady was so lucky to have such wonderful home for her all too short life, though. It’s good to hear that stricter measures are being taken against psychos like that. And I agree, little Goddard’s death should not be in vain. Please report that psycho! It will help prevent your dogs, other animals and children as well from suffering the same fate.
Sadly, not even indoor pets – though always the best option, are totally safe. I still worry about the indoor kitty, I read about a few years ago, who got out and found himself up a tree in a neighbor’s yard and became too frightened to get himself down. The neighbor barred people at gun point from coming to get the kitty. That’s unconscionable! I still hope he was safely rescued and is happily back with his owner.
Cherish the memory of your precious little girl. I’m sure she’s thinking of you and the wonderful times she had with your family.
Anyone who abuses or hurts an animal should be immediately reported. Our pets depend on us for comfort, love, food and shelter and deserve to be protected from harmful people and elements. Goddard was a beautiful girl.
Thank you for sharing the tale of Goddard’s too-short life. I agree with everyone, the neighbors must be reported to the police, and scrutinized re: their behavior around other animals.
RIP FUZZ
Bellowing FUZZ
Maybe the “unsavory neighbor” needs to do a bit of jail time; sounds as if murdering pets perhaps isn’t the only nasty stuff he’s been up to. Please take everyone’s advice and report this incident. What a dear little kitten Goddard is. I can see why you were “persuaded” to take him home from the pet store.
I am sooooo sorry to read about the death of your precious cat Goddard.
My heart goes out to all who have suffered the death of their wonderful pets.
hugs
So sad, but also scary because most killers start out abusing and killing small animals. I hope he rots in that special corner of hell reserved for people like that. Report him, and follow through. God only knows what else he has done.
Such an incredibly beautiful kitty and such as sad, sad story. This person should definitely be reported and prevented from doing harm to another animal. May she RIP sweet Goddard.
My condolences on your loss. We know how hard it is – we’ve lost several to neighbors, including via poison (that monster also having a tendency to try to literally preach at me, but I can’t PROVE he did it) and a couple because people let their pit bulls run loose – in our yard. (Our kitties no longer are allowed to freely play… we have a fenced area for them because of the murders.)
At least Goddard had some time of love and kindness with you. It’s small consolation, but we’ve found that thought helps to make the pain a little easier to bear.
I hope that the idea of the “Rainbow Bridge” has some validity… if so, we have some sweet little ones waiting for us…
It is unbelievable that someone would have the lack of morals and common decency to do something like this. God Bless Goddard, and I pray he is happy. I’m so sorry for your loss. Try to remember all the love she gave you.
I am so sorry for your loss! Goddard was a very beautiful cat. I hate cruelty to animals! Whatever anyone does to an animal to hurt it should have the same thing done to them! My heart hurts at the injustice!
Oh, my heart cries for you, for your dogs and for poor Goddard. She was truly beautiful. I know it takes courage, but please report this. Several years ago, a young neighbor of mine drowned two cats and a small dog in a bay before he was caught while trying to drown another neighbor’s german shepherd. He was unsuccessful, as the german shepherd put up one hell of a fight. He was a juvenile, so I don’t believe he got jail time, but I think he got treatment, and he did not continue his murderous ways. Your neighbor needs to be stopped.
I’m sorry to hear about Goddard’s fate.
A friend of mine had to force her cats to be indoor cats when she moved to go to school down South. She is convinced that the people down there are meaner to animals, especially cats. Unfortunately, news clips she and others have sent me only seem to support that.
Anyone who would hurt a cat is mentally ill
That breaks my heart….I am so sorry for your loss….And your neighbor should be shot…..
Your neighbor is a serial killer (of people) in the making. Killing innocent animals is how it starts.
OMGosh…what a special now heavenly beauty patootie with fun-luvin’catitued & goggie traits & furever in your memeory our very special Star-kit today at TDK! Goddard is safe in the beautiful Meadow under the luving watch of the Wolf who knows all and will be there when justice will be served for all of the earthly “meanies”!
Goddard looked like an angel. In Colorado, animal abuse has a fine up to $5,000 and up to 18 months in jail. I’d definitely report the crime to the police. Otherwise said neighbor will strike again.
May that neighbor reap his Karma 3 times over for the murder of little Goddard!
She will be waiting for you and her doggie friends in the Meadow.
I agree that while a lot of people let their kitties outside, it’s just too violent of a world out there. They need to be inside, but still, that does not condone the disgusting behavior of some humans. I wish it were an eye for eye when things like this happen. Just breaks my heart. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I agree with you that in this day and time that kitties and dogs need to be inside. Just like children and snatched, abducted and killed, animals can be too. still that is a terrible thing to do. i’m glad that my cat is a indoor cat. i live in an apartment and it is hard to have a cat outside but you know even if i could let my cat out i wouldn’t and still i would be with her at all times.
I am so, so sorry for your loss. Please, as others have said, report this to the authorities.
RIP, sweet doggy-kitty.
The Wolf is waiting….
Your neighbor awaits the flames of hell, and rightfully so.
My deeep condolences for your loss.
