I went to the Adirondack Save-A-Stray shelter because I’d heard they had an overflow of cats and kittens. I had my heart set on a short-haired marmalade kitten, that is, until the shelter worker put Silvie in my arms. She began purring and rubbing against me immediately.
She seemed like a very sedate kitten, and within the first week and a half she started sneezing. She had a nasty upper respiratory infection, but after a week on antibiotics, she seems much better and is well on her way to becoming a first-class hellcat.

She’s beautiful! I love the tufts of fur billowing from her ears. Looks like she’s polydactyl with those paws. Have 3 polys of my own. Enjoy every minute with her.

Oh Sylvie is just precious. My new kitten could be her double in more ways than coloring. All my daughter’s fosters came down with a horrible respiratory virus. They’re finally on the mend. It was very scary.
Little Sylvie picked you because she knew you would help her. She probably had the beginnings of the infection when she was still at the shelter. Now there’s a happy ending for both of you. Enjoy!
