Big John
Location: Spring Lake, Michigan, USA
Here is Big John, one of my foster kittens. They started out feral, but after a few weeks of gentle love and caring, they are coming around to realizing that humans are good people! Big John is going to be quite large if he grows into his paws. He will be a gentle giant as he is already a total cuddle-bug and has a purr-machine that doesn’t quit! He has three siblings that are all starting to come out of their shells and accept human kindness. Hopefully, they will be spayed/neutered and find their very own furever homes soon!

Big John reminds me of Grumpy Gus (minus the Grumpy, of course!)–the feral orangie that I feed on my patio. I’m almost certain he’s the brother of Cheddar, who is now living the life of leisure at my dog’s groomers place. I only wish that Gus would ‘come around’.

I love Big John! and people who foster critters until they can find their forever homes! I truly believe that there are no feral cats, only ones that need slow, patient socialization to come around. Bravo for you!

I agree. While my little petite girl is cute as a button, I wouldn’t trade my “Rubenesque” kitty for anything. There is so much more to love!

I adopted Sarge when he was an adult. What a big kitty he is! I wouldn’t have it any other way. He loves for me to hold him and he’ll make biscuits on me. And he’s friendly to everyone who comes in the house. He loves the attention but makes it clear he’s MY kitty.
Big John is a big sweetie. I love super size kitties. I used to have Hobbes who was 22 pounds and not fat at all. This guy is going to be a gorgeous adult cat. Keep him.
We adopted Poppy (who is a very large orangie too) when she was an adult. She is a total sweetie-pie and she is very affectionate.

GRRReat Kitten!! My Mom was feral also and when I purr I sound like a helicopter overhead! I wonder if that comes from our wild genes? Best of luck with that new home. I was very lucky with mine. I wish the same for you and your sibs!

It is comforting to know that someone is looking after at least some of the feral cats that live a lonely and dangerous life on their own. If only more people like you were willing to step up and help these poor animals, many more could find good, loving, permanent homes.
