I’ll take them both!
Mind sharing? I’ve got some catnip for them!
More importantly, HM, I have bacon for you if you share!
*takes kittens to sharing circle*
Mmm Bacon
*sits down in sharing circle
These guys look like super cute trouble
Hence, the fun with catnip. Entertains cats and humans alike!
I spilled a HUGE amount of catnip on the carpet last night and said ‘forget it’ and just left it there. This morning when I got up, Huddy was still laying in it. I had to check his pulse to make sure he hadn’t OD’d. 🙂
Oh no. He will need to go to Catnip Re-hab!
Yeah he will, he had drooled all in it. I’ll bet he’s STILL laying in it. Druggie! Doesn’t he understand JUST SAY NO?????
A pusher among us! *shocked*
When I give Sally and Stink catnip, Sally eats it up and than passes out on the spot. I asked my Hubby if he thinks I give her too much, answer “ya think, look at her, she’s comatose” Stinky just rolls around in it and plays. Funny to watch the two opposites.
These two boys look like a world of fun to be around. Look at the expressions on their faces…tooo cute!
well they are just 2 of the cutest white babies I’ve ever seen!
Ach, wie süss!
Good morning, TDKers!
Hi FondaHonda!
Hey, Huddy’s Mama!
We’re like Kevin McAllister……Home Alone
😆
They look like a mischievous pair. Cute!
For a second there i thought you were refering to HM and FondaHonda!!!
Nope, I don’t want a close encounter with HM’s pitchfork. 🙂
I think Mayra had it right even though she didn’t mean to!
I don’t think so. I _KNOW_ so! 🙂
double trouble! they look like they’re up to no good, just waiting to pounce on some feet. too cute!
How cute! I love the markings around their ears. 🙂
There’s Huddy’s Mama and FondaHonda first in line again!
A pair of cuties to pass around and share! *talking about the kittens*LOL
Hey–I have my priorities straight!
Hey, Huddy’s Mama–LadyKat just called us both cuties! 😆
Buwahahahahahahahahahah
Still a little early but I have been worried about Susie. If you are here Susie, did you get through to the vet? Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope today brings you a little peace.
Sox’s Mom, she informed me that she is planning to go to the vet today.
Hello TDKr’s – no way, these two are just too cute for a Monday morning. Now I remember why I came to work this morning! These guys have totally made my day!
Skimmed over comments from Friday afternoon to Sunday. Couple of cuties over the weekend; if you haven’t seen them yet, check ’em out – they will brighten your day.
Sounds like some of you are going through some tough times. My heart goes out to you, and I cry with you. Sending you lots of hugs and healing energy. Virtual hugs and purrs to all you TDKr’s, just because!
Love Joan
G’morning all, wishing everyone a good day before I take off and go home….its my Friday woo hoo….now to decide on what I should do for my weekend…clean or do nothing…hmmm
My vote is “Do Nothing” and enjoy.
ok, for anyone that is curious on my progress for my aunt’s website, here it is
http://www.wchast.com/iliana/
Don’t bother clicking on the images in the catalog, the high resolution images are too big to actually load. I’ll be fixing that shortly. Can’t do it from work. It’s still in the construction phase, but I thought you might like to see it anyway.
I like it!
Thanks! I think it’s a pretty decent start
Hi HM,
I tried all weekend to get Bob to say “Mama”. I think he thought I was nuts running around saying “Mama”, “Mama”. No luck! *sigh*
LOL – I told you, Huddy is not that bright. It’s a total accident he does that. 🙂
*hugs to little Bob*
So what are you using to build it MM? Are you going to be linking a database to it for the shopping??
I’m using Nvu (http://www.nvu.com/index.php) mostly. A lot of the HTML is just done in a text editor. There is still quite a bit of tweaking that I have not done yet. And yes, I will be linking it to a database for shopping. I’ve not even started on that yet. Need some more info from the Aunt for that.
hmmm, never heard of that one. I’ve always been a Dreamweaver person with Cold Fusion or ASP.net myself.
Have you used Dreamweaver before how would you compare it to Nvu??
Only used Dreamweaver a little and I have to admit that I was clueless about web design at that point. Currently, I’m just too cheap to fork out the money for it. That and, I don’t think it works so well on Linux. It would work on the Mac though. I am kind of partial to the open source programs too. Free is always the right price 🙂 Nvu is pretty capable once you get used to the interface. email me at jenhast AT cox DOT net and I’ll tell you all about my likes and dislikes on it. Don’t want to bore everyone with all of that.
Look into Coffeecup
http://www.coffeecup.com/
I think you will like it.
I love finding out about new programs 🙂 Gives me toys to play with.
Yeah, I’ve looked at Coffeecup. Haven’t played with it yet though. Lots of fun stuff
Hi Everybody! Great start MeezerMama. It looks really good.
Looks good! BTW, I like Jose’s works too.
me too. It’s really beautiful work
Great beginning, MM! I’m looking forward to seeing the final version. (Do websites ever get finished? 🙂 )
no, I don’t think they do
They don’t, as soon as you get done you start thinking of ways to improve it. I’ve already started on the wifes website and working on the design for a database for her paintings and for inqueries.
looks good… please keep us posted about how it is doing. When I get working again I will be a customer. I had the pleasure of living in Costa Rica for 3 years.. I actually started school down there.
Well the aunt that is starting this business is from Costa Rica. She is in Dee’s area now. I’ve never been but would like to sometime.
OH…they are just so cute! I am hoping to get my new babies in the next week or so. C.J. isn’t as excited as I am but she will adjust (I hope).
Where are the new babies now?
They are in foster care through a group called Cat’s Cradle.
http://www.catscradlevirginia.com/kittens.htm
Check out Maverick and Mika…these are the ones that I am working on adopting.
What beautiful kittens. CJ won’t be able to resist them! I really like the quality of the photos on that website.
I want them all……………………………
Me, too!!!!!!
So adorable. There’s even a Maverick – I thought I was the only one with a Maverick. Watch out CJ’s Mommy, Mavericks are crazy.
They are so beautiful – everyone of them!
Awww… They are adorable. Congratulations CJ’s mommy
CJ’s Mommy, awww just tell CJ that she gets to be Queen over them….maybe that will convince her…
and forgot to say earlier that the duo presented today are very cute…
I keep telling her that she has to be the big sister…teach them the rules of the house, etc. She is such a sweetie and I really hope this doesn’t change her disposition.

Important points. I don’t have the URL on this comuter, but the Government Accounting Office has some data that shows that the budget situation is untenable if spending on aging goes on as before. Problem stems from a system built when very few workers lived to 70 and so retirement from 65 to 70 was funding five years. Now the same system structure is trying to fund people living from 65 to 85 or even 95. Nobody wants to make the tough choices around the implications.
They are more worried about votes than their country. Pretty sad.
I’ve always belived that if our government would get out of the way and quit trying to help/protect us from ourselves so much we would be much better off.
ha ha, a matched set of cuteness, like little short haired Vans. if there was ever an argument for always adopting kitties in pairs, Raoul and Diego are it!
Good morning all! Long time no post! I have a big, huge favor to ask of you, please keep Kittyman in your prayers, he’s had a relapse while we were on vacation. I had to take him twice to a pet ER in that area and they did everything possible to help him, but his breathing is still not good. I can only see my vet Wednesday or maybe tomorrow if “they have time”!! My heart is breaking watching my little buddy feel so bad and there’s nothing I can do to help. I sure would appreciate some positive energy sent his way. He’s only eating out of my hands and I’m terrified of what my vet will reccomend next. The ER told me to take him to a specialist and have his head x-rayed and his nasal passages scoped. He’s 16 years old, I don’t want to put him through all that, there’s also a chance he won’t wake up from the anesthesia either…..I need y’alls help………I’ve missed you guys………
Of course I’ll be praying for you and Kittyman. Lots of positive energy your way.
My prayers are with you & Kittyman.
LeeAnn you have my prayers for Kittyman’s health, also my prayers for you for peace. I hope that you can receive vet care for him sooner rather than later. You have to trust in your instincts to know what is best for Kittyman.
Oh, LeeAnne, I hope that Kittyman is going to be OK. We will keep both of you in our prayers
Hugs and prayers that the Vet can help Kittyman without having to go under anesthesia.
Oh Sweetie!! Serious prayers, good thoughts and love to both of you!
Good thoughts for Kittyman. Hugs and headbonks to you. I will be thinking of you today. Prayers to both of you.
Of course we are there for you–prayers for Kittyman are here.
Prayers to you and Kittyman
All good thoughts and prayers your way. Fingers crossed for the little guy!
Prayers and healing thoughts. Keep us posted.
PURRS AND HEADBUTTS ALONG W/PRAYERS
FOR KITTYMAN …
My prayers, positive vibes and hugs are with you and your beloved Kittyman. *hugs*
I’m so sorry about Kittyman not feeling well. Prayers and positive thoughts coming y’alls way. Keep us posted.
LeeAnne, hang in there! If he has to be scoped, make sure you get the pre-anesthesia bloodwork done to see how well his liver will metabolize it. You and Kittyman will know what’s best to do. Headbonks and figure eights to you both!
Kittyman will be in my prayers. Positive thoughts coming your way.
All my Prayers for you LeeAnne and for Kittyman. My heart breaks for the two of you. Give Kittyman extra snuggles from me and mine. We are here for you.
My prayers are with you and Kittyman, LeeAnn. Hugs and warms thoughts for you both. God Bless.
Sending healing vibrations, purrs and prayers to your handsome tuxie boy. Hang in there, Kittyman! *smooches and scritches*
Sending Purrs and good thoughts to you and Kittyman.
I’m keeping you and poor Kittyman in my thoughts, LeeAnne. Hope the vet vet will be able to help him.
we are all wishing you well. We know how that can be. We went through something similar with our Desparado.
LeeAnne………..If you have not tried Baytril for Kittyman, you might ask the vet about it. It was our last resort before seeing a specialist. Our kitty was so stuffed up, he had to be force fed food and water for several weeks. After one day on Baytril, he had remarkable improvement, and on day 3 was eating on his own. Hope the vet will be able to see you tomorrow. We’ll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you and Kittyman. P.S…..The 2 rounds of Clavamox prior to, did not help at all.
Thank you so much everyone. I’m just so upset about all this and really trying hard to think positive. I know at 16 there’s so much they can do for him. 12 Pawz in FL, I will mention the Baytril to my vet “hopefully” tomorrow. I’ve been so disappointed in the service at my vet’s office lately….. Thank you again everyone, you’re all angels and your healing thoughts helped me get through the day…….
Good luck for tomorrow LeeAnne, hopefully you’ll have some better news for us.
Oh, LeeAnne, you must know that our hearts and prayers are with you and your Kittyman.
LeeAnne in FL
Prayers for you and Kittyman and head bonks from Chucky!!

LeeAnne in FL, you and Kittyman are in my prayers.

** Paris Hilton Loses Inheritance**
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22157708-2,00.html
PARTY princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather – appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences – axed her inheritance.
Family patriarch Barron Hilton was already embarrassed by his granddaughter’s wild behaviour – notably when her home sex video was leaked on the internet.
But the 79-year-old considered her 23-day sentence last month the last straw.
“He was, and is, extremely embarrassed by how the Hilton name has been sullied by Paris,” says Jerry Oppenheimer, who wrote a biography of the clan called House Of Hilton.
“He now doesn’t want to leave unearned wealth to his family.”
Hilton senior, the only member of the family left with a sizeable stake in the huge hotel chain, has let it be known that he intends to donate to charity the $2.4bn he will gain from this month’s sale of the company to private equity firm Blackstone.
The money will go to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the charity set up in the name of the founder of the family business.
Instinct, you just made my day
I try to bring a little sunshine with me wherever I go 😀
Here’s a song that we can all get stuck in our heads from the musical “Annie”:
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!
Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!
When I’m stuck a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
‘Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always
A day
A way!
Happy Monday! 🙂
Wow–I can now use the name Hilton and the word respect in the same sentence!
I have often wondered how her family felt about her behavior. I guess this says it.
How does one blow 60 mil on partying? Or had her inheritance been 60 mil before Granddad cut her off?
I read somewhere that that spoiled brat had an “allowance” of $50,000 a month.. Sickening considering most folks live on less than that a year!
Well, I guess I could look at it this way – She goes out an blows the money being stupid, which puts the cash into the hands of people who have to work for a living.
Yea, I know, kind of weak
Oh, gee, in six months I could buy a house with a small (2 to 10 acres) amount of land to grow fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and animals. Right now I have two chickens, two ducks, and three parakeets, but I’m looking for a red-point Siamese kitten to add to the menagerie.
I have a 9 week old tortie siamese that I am trying to find a home for, if you are interested. Click my name and see Kiwi. She is definately siamese.
MerD, how’s the kitty with the stomach trouble? Did you take him to the vet?
I took them all off of the wet food. Giving the silly things warm wet (dry) kitten food. They are loving it. I will check litterboxes when I get home to see if that helps. The 2 dudes see the vet tommorrow for their neutering. I will ask then. They are otherwise healthy playfull, purring busybodies.
Awww, glad you’re taking good care of them!
Some of us live on a WHOLE LOT LESS that that a year!
when you consider that most of us get by on half of that after taxes, rent, utilities, etc, and are one paycheck away from homelessness or bankruptcy, why don’t they change that inheritance to grants for people who really need them? I know I would apply.
T 🙂
I’ll second that, Thomas!
I’ll third, fourth, and fifth that!
Me too Thomas…what with the way they make one jump through hoops to get unemployment, they should offer grants for people who have been laid off with the P Hilton money. Unfortuately Grandpa cutting off her inheritance isnhe isn’t going to be hurting as she has various businesses going anyways.
Good to hear from you Thomas, I would apply too! Stay well my friend. Hugs and Purrs.
Thank you for sharing this Instinct. I was wondering when THAT was going to happen.
I’ve been HOPING that it would happen.!
At least SOMEONE in that family has a brain!
Let’s see if he sticks to it.
Let’s hope so…
Go Grampa!!!!
Go Grandpa!
Party on little rich girl! OOPs! you can’t! Ha-ha! Did mummy and Daddy get sick of your excesses?
Kinda goes to show that the private sector only cares about themselves.
JCL
Well, I might have to start lodging at Hilton Hotels again. But first, let me check my sofa cushions for loose change to help underwrite my overnight stay at one of Hilton’s properties!
Ahhh, how cute.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think i’m in love with these two beauties!!! I love how one has an orangie color by the ears, and the other is blackish.. so beautiful. *snorgles* My mom went in for sugery today..Is it okay if i have extra snorgle time? just 2 minutes extra!! 🙁
Prayers of peace and comfort to you as you wait for the surgery to be finished. Hopefully with this your mother will be in better health upon recovery.
Thank you very much. *has been very worried, and unsure why..*
Hugs and prayers that all turns okay for your Mom, Amanda.
Prayers and good thoughts!!
Take all the tiem you need, and prayers are on the way!
*hugs* Hoping for you and your mom.
I will pray for your mom, Amanda. I hope everything goes well.
Take all the time you need to snorgle with today’s kittens. Sending you healing light and prayers for your mom and gentle headbonks from Digit and Furl.
Take all the Snorgle time you want too! Prayers for you and mom.
Prayers and good wishes for a speedy recovery for your Mom, Amanda. Hang in there. Hugs and purrs to you both.
Sure, sis, you’ll get your extra snorgles. Hope your Mom will be OK.
What a cute little pair!
What a beautiful little pair! They look like they have that swashbuckling adventuresome spirit. You’re going to have some great stories to tell!
Good Morning everyone, I’m in desparate need of help! My Camo got out of the house yesterday and we can’t find him. He’s an indoor cat so I’m very scared I won’t find him. There was a huge thunderstorm last night. Please if anyone has suggestions, post them, I’ll keep checking and I will let you know how it’s going!
I am so sorry to here this. The storms seem to scare them into hiding. There are many here that have excellent tips about how to find lost pets. Persistance is the biggest part. In the mean time I am praying Camo remember to come home quickly to the family that he loves and loves him.
Oh Sweetie! I know what you are going through. My Bogman has done that, but he always comes home!! Camo knows where home is! but I will pray for his safe return.
Put out his favorite food–put up posters, contact your animal shelters DAILY, ask neighbors to keep an eye out for him, and call his name–he is hiding out of fear.
Agreed with all recommendations; don’t forget to call for Camo every morning and every evening, along with putting out the tastiest food. He’s very scared right now, but be persistent and optimistic.
I’m so sorry Boysandme. Put posters up on poles, in stores (don’t forget pet stores) and vets offices in the neighborhood. Change the colors of the posters every few days (if Camo isn’t back by then) so people will know he is still missing. Put an ad in the newspaper immediately for at least 10 days. You can cancel it when he comes home. Personally, if one of my cats were missing I would run an ad for 6 months at least assuming the cat didn’t return. Put flyers on your neighbors doors. I, for one, have a hard time reading the flyers people post outside on poles. When one of my rescues got out I put flyers on doors for several blocks in all directions. Someone called to return her the next night. Put out his favorite food day and night, and, of course water. Pray hard and we will all pray with you. Good luck!
I had this idea also that will help if one of my cats gets out. The tag on their collars have their name (plus my last name), my phone number and my vets phone number. Of course, I ask my vets permission first and they assured me if anyone ever called them with one of my pets (I used to have dogs too) they will allow the person to drop them off and they would hold my pet for me. This would also be great if someone found one of my cats and it was injured.
Microchipping is a great idea for any pet. That way if they are turned into a shelter or vets office they can be scanned and returned. It is especially important for indoor only pets as they get so easily frightened when they get outdoors.
Another TDKer suggested taking an item of clothing you’ve worn prior to washing it and dragging it around your neighborhood as a way to coax your kit back home with your familiar scent. Let us know when Camo returns. Prayers for his safe return are coming your way.
JCL
Just like several other posters, patience is the name of the game. However, that’s easier said than done. I know — I’ve been there!
I’ll be keeping y’all in my prayers.
GOD Bless You!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Search for him in the neighborhood when it’s at it’s quietest. Walk alone or with people he knows and trusts. Be friendly and calm. If he likes cat nip, have some with you. Call him and hope for the best.
If he’s really shocked he may not answer you or come to you unless you are very near and after a long persuasion. The longer it takes the thinner are his chances to survive. But don’t give up too easily. Good luck – I really hope you’ll find him.
It hasn’t been posted in awhile, so I will ask that everyone go to the following link to keep the food coming to all the beautiful pets that are rescued and waiting for forever homes.
http://theanimalrescuesite.org/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3
Thanks for reminding us — I know I forget to this and it’s SO EASY!
Same here!! I always forget!!
I keep this in my eamail inbox so I see it everyday, first thing. Thanks for the reminders 🙂
I put a shortcut on my desktop so I click on it every day when I turn on the computer, just before I come to TDK.
I brought bacon, scrambled eggs and cheese, French toast, tea, and tomato juice today. Who wants eats?
I’ll take a big glass of tomato juice. One of my personal favorites. I have brought big slices of beefsteak tomatoes to go with the earlier bacon. BLT anyone?
Great, I have two hands for two kittens and a big open gap for BLT. Thanks to both cafeteria ladies!
Always first on food line!
Good morning all!! and Happy afternoon to KM!!
hi Alex!!
I hope all is well for everyone!!
My parents just got back from their cruise to Alaska and my mom sends big Alaskan hugs to our TDK family!!
Love to all Terri
Sounds like your mom is doing great! Tell her hello from TDK. 🙂
I’m glad you parents had fun and hugs back to them 🙂
🙂
Send very WARM hugs to your folks!
I will take scrambled eggs, bacon, and a nice big mocha. Had to get up extra early so I could talk with the former assistant who worked with the VP at Genentech. She gave me insight about how the VP works and the team too. Here is hoping they will hire me. Thought my temp job was going to start today but no email on where to go or who to report to so I am guessing it has been posted due to the HR contact moving offices. I could have used the money. Oh well.
I meant to say postponed. Sheesh….need that mocha.
Fingers and toes crossed for you, and positive energy coming over !
Starting temp job tomorrow at Amgen which is a competitor of Genentech. This is a six month temp assignment so if for some reason Genentech offer doesn’t come through, I have a job for six months at decent wage. Here is hoping Genentech perm job offer comes in the next day or two. Thanks for all your positive thoughts and toe crossings. 😀
Here’s ten more for you! 🙂 Positive thoughts too.
Hey Karin, just got your email, I will send a reply soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for Genentech
I just found out that the closing for the duplex I’ve been living in is tomorrow. And it will be owner occupied. And I’m on the first floor. So add looking for a new homea nd moving first and second on the list of priorities..I absolutely hate this summer. Its been the busiest in my 46 years on the planet…
Bummer! Moving is bad enough, but to do it with only days to go is hard. Purrs and headbonks to you to get through it.
Good luck on the house hunt. Hope you find one quickly that allows cats. Prayers for a smooth move.
Well, that bites. They might have said something earlier. Good luck on finding a new house quickly.
I hope the new owners don’t expect to occupy the duplex as of tomorrow. Your lease/rental agreement should require a certain amount of notice to give you time to find a new place. I’m sorry this has been such a difficult summer for you. Good luck finding a new, cat-friendly place!
Awww, that sucks! Head bonks and hugs to pull you through all that!
I think they have to give you 30 days notice to move when they sell the place you are living in as a tenant. Good luck and hope you find something soon, Cheri.
If you have a lease from the former owner, the new owner must honor it. At least, that’s the way it is here in Michigan (I was a realtor for a while).
Hope nobody minds a repost from this weekend, because traffic is so much lower then: There are 400 cats in the Las Vegas area (Pahrump) who need some volunteers, supplies, and love.
These cats were starved and neglected in a “shelter” but Best Friends and local volunteers are helping them. The pictures and stories will just about guarantee tears, but the cats are learning to play again and are even turning into little attention hogs, which is a great sign. Some have even selected people to provide them with forever homes!
They need supplies, donations, and volunteers.

What lovable little German furburgers.
Keep those kittens coming…
These two look like mischief makers! Such faces!
Can anyone out there spare a cappuccino? 🙂
I wound up with a cappuccino by accident. I will swap my cappuccino for a cup of blueberry-pomegranate herbal tea and an Asiago cheese bagel with smoked salmon cream cheese.
You got it! 🙂
HM how are you doing this morning? Knowing you are going to go through it again, I am hoping you are relaxing and getting stronger for the next round. Now is the time to have a magic wand that could make it all go away–the pain that is.
There are times when we wish it COULD all go away except our fuzzbutts!
I’ve not had a very bad day so far. That will change I’m sure after therapy and more shots in the neck – lol. I’m keeping on the sunny side about it. There’s people out there worse off than me, ya know? But I sure do thank you for thinking of me. You’re a sweetheart.
Of course, a nice glass of wine and a painkiller once I get home won’t be a bad way to spend the evening either.
I have a great bottle of Merlot just waiting to be uncorked!
Diego looks like the plotter of mayhem: his loyal soldier Raoul is the instrument of mischief and kitten destruction.
AAWW! Raoul and Diego are such a cute pair.
I brought pineapple upside-down cake to the sharing circle for lunch and treats for the kitties. Help yourselves.
I’ll take a slice as long as it doesn’t have pecans on it, as I am allergic to tree nuts. I can eat coconut since coconut is not a true nut but a fruit.
JCL
Hi, Vicki!
The best way to pronounce pecans when you’re in the South, is to say ‘PA-conns’ rather than ‘PEA-canns’
And the best way that I can pronounce coconut is ‘NO!’
I’ll keep that in mind should I encounter the Devil’s fruit.
Ahh! One of my favorites!
One of my absolute favorites!
What a darling pair this morning. So sweet and, I’ll bet, mischevious.
“Mischief managed.”
–Harry Potter
I was thinking the same thing! 🙂
You all have to check out the kitties on cuteoverload!

Thanks FondaHonda! That was so cute, loved the kitty pics and the little kitten video.
FondaHonda, how is you “little brother” Zippy doing with psycho-kitty at your parents’ house?
Thanks for asking, Great Dane. It wasn’t going well, then it was, now it’s not. Psycho Kitty needs to be drugged in order to cut matts from her stomach. I told my parents that this might be a great time for some ‘forced bonding’ between them. Maybe then, Zippy will leave Psycho alone. Can’t hurt, huh?
He probably won’t leave Psycho alone, but who knows? I hope it works out for everyone. Maybe if these drugs work really well, your parents can keep psycho-kitty on them?
Cat-o-pottomus??? What a great word!
If anyone feeds their dogs DrsFosterandSmith dog food, Target is now selling it in their stores, at least the one in Tucson is. They didn’t know if they would be getting the cat food line in or not. The prices weren’t that bad, I don’t have any dogs but its a good sign…wouldn’t have to mail order it. Just an FYI for everyone….
Raoul and Diego are the cutest pair! They look mischievious too! Susie, how’s Julie today? Keeping you in my prayers.
Good afternoon Alex, KM and all. HM hope you had a good weekend and are feeling as back to normal as is possible.
Dee, are you out there? Hope all is well.
Hi, Lynn. Any word on how much has been donated to Burke Co. Friends for Animals in honor of Chester so far? Just curious.
Hi Kitten Whisperer! That’s why I was trying to get hold of Dee. I’ve left the # at home, so I can’t call today. They cashed my check today and I was hoping I could find out if we are good to go for the plaque. Thanks for asking. Hugs and Purrs.
Kitten Whisperer and Lynn, I just got my thank you for the donation I sent to them today and I was wondering the same thing. You beat me to the punch, because I was going to see if Dee had a number.
I got a sweet card from Jerry’s mom the other day. I do hope we have sent enough not only to do a plaque but to help them with their needs as well.
I got a very nice card from Jerry’s Mom too. I am sure there is enough money for the plaque as well as a bit more! Have the # at home, will see if I can still reach them when I get home. If so, will let you know later tonight or tomorrow morning, so check back here and I’ll let you know what I find out. Otherwise, I’ll talk to you all tomorrow during the new kitten sighting!! Thanks to all who donated. Talk soon. Hugs and purrs Lynn
Instinct, thanks for posting that about Ms. Spoiled Hilton, was wondering when her grandfather would do something about reining her in. Her parents weren’t going to do it, she still won’t be poor since she has varied businesses in her name (I believe I have read that somewhere).
Leeanne and Susie in CA, sending good thoughts and prayers for Kittyman and Julie today and as long as they need it.
Amanda, sending good thoughts for you mom too.
boyzandme, like everyone suggested keep calling for Camo and putting out food. If you have shrubs around the area, look underneath them. Camo may be scared and hiss if found, but its because of the scary things outside. If you have neighbor kids, tell them too and their parents around your place too. Night time might be easier to look, because with a flashlight their eyes shine, so easier to see where they are. One of mine disappeared when she was about 3 months old and stayed gone for three days, came back in the middle of the night when I was outside calling for her. Good luck and prayers are with you from me and my horde.
I had houseguests a few summers ago and what with the door being opened and shut several times, we could not locate Rotley AT ALL. I took a flashlight around the neighborhood, narrowly missed getting run over a few times, and made so many promises to God that it was uncredible.
I could not find the little fellow and walked home in tears (not the best thing for a hostess whose guests had just driven nine hours in the pouring rain).
15 minutes later we discovered Rotley tucked into the underside of a large recliner.
He still uses that as his favorite “hide from Mommy’s company” spot.
And I am still trying to fulfill all the pledges I made to God that night in 2004!
I lost Sebastian when I moved in California. The door was open (of course) and I just knew he’d snuck away. I was out for 2 hours looking for him. I went home in tears and looked atop the fridge and guess who was looking at me like I was crazy? He’d been there the whole time – that was when I discovered that he loved sitting up there to get away from everything and everybody.
Nice to know that we BOTH have clever little monsters who run the house and our lives, and have no scruples about pushing all of our buttons.
(Why did I say “both” when I should have said “ALL”.)
Hello there. I’ve been lurking for a couple of months now and thought I’d introduce myself. TDK has become one of my main distractions in an otherwise relentlessly busy day! I go by the name of Molly and co-parent two beautiful tabbies, Ozzie and Jeoffry (a.k.a. “The Boys”), brothers who are now 5. My husband and I separated in January and they live with him in our old house…and I miss them SO MUCH! TDK has filled a gaping hole in my life, and I seldom come away after reading your postings without tears in my eyes. Thank you for sharing your love of felines with one another and (unwittingly!) with me. It really brightens my day. If you’d like to take a peak at my boys, they’re on Catster, http://www.catster.com/family/430027
Welcome to TDK… glad you decided to join the party. Perhaps when all things settle for your in you in your personal, you’ll be in a place where you can start a new fur-family. Separations/divorces are hard… we’re all here for you!
Now I’ll go sneak a peek at your boys…
How embarrassing – a typo in my first posting (peak/peek)! I work in the language industry, and that’s tantamount to a mortal sin! Fifty lashes with a wet noodle for me!
A wet noodle eh? Now that’s just depraved. 😉 !! Welcome to TDK, I’m pretty much a newcomer myself. When my ex and I split up, I had to leave my cat withhim for a hwile, but thankfully not too lng. Hope you maange to get something sorted out. Pickle sends a nose kiss to you!
(totally unintentional typos, but hopefully they’ve made you feel better!)
I hate to admit it, but I’m totally lost without my spelling checker. Or would you spell that chequer, MadcatwomanintheUK? ; -)
Thanks for posting, Molly. Your kits are beautiful. Mine have sent yours a friend invite on Catster. Keep posting!
Welcome, Molly. Your two cats are gorgeous. I especially like the pictures of the two brothers together. I left them treats.
Welcome Molly. I’m glad you introduced yourself. Your boys are very handsome. Purrs and Headbonks to you for your troubles. Be sure and keep us posted on how things are going.
Welcome Molly, thanks for posting. Your boys are precious and I’m sure they miss you too!
Hello Molly I sent your boys a friends invitation from my boys! Camo and Kaddie (or Camouflage and Mr. Kaddie Kat)
Welcome! Your kits are soooo cute, we sent them a friend invite. Hang in there, they miss you too!
We’ve sent you an invite, too, Molly (especially my Molly–to her namesake!). And we sent treats, too. Welcome!
Welcome Molly, keep sharing, bring some breakfast and let us get to know you. I am sorry about your boys not being with you. In addition to the cat fix that you get here, perhaps you can start volunteering at a shelter or rescue organization to get more fixes. We’re glad you are here and have come out of lurk mode.
ppearson, I live in the Netherlands and out here people like to eat chocolate sprinkles on buttered white bread for breakfast. It’s known as “hagelslag” (literally, hailstorm), and it’s a national obsession. As is any kind of chocolate. They also breakfast on gooey, sticky hazelnut or chocolate paste on bread. And for lunch, a couple of raw herrings dipped in chopped onions is considered a real treat. Ya gotta love the Dutch.
My company’s home office is in the Netherlands and each time and engineer goes for training he/she is required to return with chocolate!
And that breakfast sounds REALLY good to me !!
Welcome Molly!! Your babies are beautiful. Love the brindles!! Your Ozzy looks like my sister’s cat Samson.
JCL
Molly, welcome to the whacky worldwide family of TDK. It’s my hope that we’ll see many posts from you in the future. We come from varied backgrounds politically, socially, racially, financially and many other ‘allys, but with one thing in common — we all love those wonderful gifts from God, known as cats — especially kittens.
So, Molly, thanks for taking the plunge, leaving lurking behind and joining us here on The Daily Kitten!
GOD Bless You!

Hi there! Glad you joined us! Your boys are adorable stripeys – Does your ex take good care of them?
Welcome, Molly. So sorry to hear of your separation and missing your boys. They are beautiful, indeed! They look like my Lucky. Thanks for joining us and telling us a bit about yourself. Talk to you soon. Hugs and Purrs!

Bruised Apples
===============
A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales
convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they
would be home in plenty of time for Friday night’s dinner.
Well, as such things go, one thing led to another.
The sales manager went longer than anticipated and the meeting
ran overtime. Their flights were scheduled to leave out of
Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, and they had to race frantically to
the airport. With tickets in hand, they barged through the
terminal to catch their flight back home.
In their rush, with tickets and brief cases, one of these
salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display
of baskets of apples.
Apples flew everywhere.
Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the
plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding.
All but one.
He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings,
and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple
stand had been overturned.
He told his buddies to go on without him, waved goodbye, told
one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home
destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he
returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the
terminal floor.
He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl was totally blind!
She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in
frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her
spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her; no one stopping,
and no one to care for her plight.
The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the
apples, put them into the baskets, and helped set the display up
once more.
As he did this he noticed that many of them had become battered
and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the
girl, “Here, please take this $20 for the damage we did. Are
you okay?” She nodded through her tears. He continued on with,
“I hope we didn’t spoil your day too badly.”
As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl
called out to him, “Mister….”
He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes.
She continued, “Are you Jesus?”
He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made
his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and
bouncing about in his soul:
“Are you Jesus?”
Do people mistake you for Jesus?
That’s our destiny, is it not?
To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference
as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love,
life and grace.
If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He
would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and
going to church. It’s Actually living the Word as life unfolds
day to day.
You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been
bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you
and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our
damaged fruit.
Let’s start living like we are worth the price He paid.

Kathy, you took the ‘word’ right out of my mouth.
And thank YOU, Debsterwiz, for the post. It’ll bless many who read it.

Excellent way to explain how we should be like Jesus. I try so hard then have a grumpy day and have to start over and hope that I haven’t led anyone further from Him while I was grumpy.
I liked it soo much I copied it and sent it off to most of my friends!
what a wonderful story! and thank you so much for sharing, the reminder is greatly appreciated.
Hi! We are setting traps on the lot tonight. Cross your fingers we get another adult feral to have tested and fixed before we end up with another litter of kittens out there. Meanwhile, Savannah and babies are doing fine. The biggest kitten, Bloomer, had us worried for awhile. His eyes wouldn’t open and he was 2 1/2 weeks old. After 3 days of miscommunication I got meds for him. I got home with the meds and voila’ his eyes were open. Clean, clear and blue just like they should be. So he was just a late bloomer (hence, his name). Savannah’s other 4 are Fuzzy, Wuzzy, Teeny and Tiny. I have 4 feral kittens in the den, now a second nursery. They sure like that better than the bathroom. You remember Twisty went home with my friend Angela, I surrendered one really, really sick one to the emergency room. Now I have Shadow (the one that that had blowfly worms hatch under the skin of his back) is doing fine. He is still very shy. Not surprising after all of the stuff he had done to him by me cleaning out the hole in his back every night and 2 trips to the vet. Then there’s Hunter. He is so black he has a blue sheen, the biggest of this litter and very muscular. He is so shiny you can almost see yourself in his fur. He looks like a tiny black panther. I bet the female kitties swoon when he stalks by 🙂 Then the latest, Pufflet, is one from a younger litter. He is a fluffy, dark grey tabby with a little beard. I don’t actually know that they are all males though. Jumper is ready to be fixed but must weigh 4 pounds first. He is almost there and then my partner will take him home. He will be spoiled rotten. My personal 4 are doing O.K. except Socks. She is 10 years old and we battled urinary tract infections for months last year. I think it is starting back. She is going to the vet tommorrow. Wish her luck please. Meanwhile, my daughter and her boyfriend separated and she wants to come home for a few weeks. I don’t have any place to put her except the livingroom. Sigh…..
Kittypaw, Bless you for all you do—it will work out.
Good to hear the kits are mostly doing well. Wishing Socks feels better soon.
Kittypaw, blessings for all that you do. Healing thoughs for Socks and her UTI’s. My Thierry is prone to UT problems. One thing my vet suggested almost 5 years ago was to put him on Cosequin. It is a supplement for joint function, but ALSO strengthens the bladder walls and urinary tract of cats. It seems that a lot of cats have thin bladder walls and the irritation leads to the feeling of having to pee all the time, and related problems. cosequin in addition to the UT formula food has kept him problem free for close to 5 years. Might be something to look into.
Good luck with the daughter moving back in. I am sending you prayers for patience!
Kittypaw, you are AWESOME! Good luck to you with Socks tomorrow – hope she’s okay.
Wishing you happy healthy kitties (Socks! Did you listen?), good time with your daughter and happiness to your life!
**Chinese Facility To Recycle Panda Poop Into Souvenirs**
Nothing says “I love you” like a photo frame made from panda poop.
The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base has come up with a dung-for-profit scheme that turns droppings from the endangered species into odor-free souvenirs ranging from bookmarks to Olympic-themed statues of the animals, state media and base officials said Monday.
The facility in the southwestern province of Sichuan houses about 40 bamboo-fed pandas who produce less than a ton of excrement a day.
“We used to spend at least 6,000 yuan ($770) a month to get rid of the droppings but now they can be lucrative,” Jing Shimin, assistant to the base director, was quoted as saying by the official Xinhua News Agency.
The products will be made at a local handicraft company mostly from undigested bamboo culled from the panda waste through a special process, Xinhua said.
An official who answered the phone at the Chengdu facility said the dung is “carefully selected, smashed, dried and sterilized at 300 degrees Celsius (572 degrees Fahrenheit).” He refused to give his name but said the products will be of all colors because they will be dyed.
“They don’t smell too bad because 70 percent of the dung is just remains of the bamboo that the pandas are unable to digest,” Jing said.
While no price has been set, he said the most expensive souvenirs will contain a panda hair — collected from the wild — in each package.
The 2008 Olympic statues will feature “athletic pandas performing various Olympic sports,” Xinhua said.
In March, base officials said they were looking into making high-quality paper from the fiber-rich panda excrement, inspired by a trip to Thailand, where they found paper made from elephant dung.
The Chiang Mai Zoo in northern Thailand already sells multicolored paper made from waste produced by its two resident pandas. Making paper there involves a daylong process of cleaning the feces, boiling it in a soda solution, bleaching it with chlorine and drying it under the sun.
The panda is one of the world’s rarest and most beloved animals, with about 1,590 living in the wild in China, mostly in Sichuan and the western province of Shaanxi. Another 180 have been bred in captivity.
JCL
Dee, might any of those ‘various’ Olympic sports include ‘Panda Pooping’? If so, the Chinese should kick butt and win gold since they have most of the pandas of the world over there.
Also, is the scoring based on a clock, or quantity, or quality, or maybe even texture, or some sort of combination thereof?
Just wondering — and watching my step!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
haha! I like how it’s reported that “they don’t smell TOO bad…”
JCL
Exactly!
OOOOO.K. I must say this is a very creative and novel way of recycling poop. If it works, good for them! If it doesn’t work, good for them for trying 🙂
**Hollywood Pigeons Being Put On The Pill**
Officials Try To Control Population
POSTED: 4:39 am PDT July 30, 2007
LOS ANGELES — Pigeons living in tinsel town are going on the pill.
Hollywood residents believe it’s a humane way to reduce the pigeon population and the messes the birds make.
Community leaders plan to announce the pilot program Monday at a news conference. Laura Dodson, president of the Argyle Civic Association, said the “poop problem” has become unmanageable and this could be the answer.
Over the next few months a birth control product called OvoControl P, which interferes with egg development, will be placed in bird food in new rooftop feeders.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and other animal rights groups approve of the measure.
About 5,000 pigeons call the Hollywood area home.
Thanks for your warm welcome. Here’s the poem that inspired Jeoffry’s name. Even back in the 18th century, there were people (and poets) who were crazy about cats. Don’t be too put off by the archane language; it’s a lovely poem about a man’s love for his pet.
For I Will Consider My Cat Jeoffry (excerpt, Jubilate Agno)
Christopher Smart (1722 – 1771)
For I will consider my Cat Jeoffry.
For he is the servant of the Living God duly and daily serving him.
For at the first glance of the glory of God in the East he worships in his way.
For this is done by wreathing his body seven times round with elegant quickness.
For then he leaps up to catch the musk, which is the blessing of God upon his prayer.
For he rolls upon prank to work it in.
For having done duty and received blessing he begins to consider himself.
For this he performs in ten degrees.
For first he looks upon his forepaws to see if they are clean.
For secondly he kicks up behind to clear away there.
For thirdly he works it upon stretch with the forepaws extended.
For fourthly he sharpens his paws by wood.
For fifthly he washes himself.
For sixthly he rolls upon wash.
For seventhly he fleas himself, that he may not be interrupted upon the beat.
For eighthly he rubs himself against a post.
For ninthly he looks up for his instructions.
For tenthly he goes in quest of food.
For having consider’d God and himself he will consider his neighbour.
For if he meets another cat he will kiss her in kindness.
For when he takes his prey he plays with it to give it a chance.
For one mouse in seven escapes by his dallying.
For when his day’s work is done his business more properly begins.
For he keeps the Lord’s watch in the night against the adversary.
For he counteracts the powers of darkness by his electrical skin and glaring eyes.
For he counteracts the Devil, who is death, by brisking about the life.
For in his morning orisons he loves the sun and the sun loves him.
For he is of the tribe of Tiger.
For the Cherub Cat is a term of the Angel Tiger.
For he has the subtlety and hissing of a serpent, which in goodness he suppresses.
For he will not do destruction, if he is well-fed, neither will he spit without provocation.
For he purrs in thankfulness, when God tells him he’s a good Cat.
For he is an instrument for the children to learn benevolence upon.
For every house is incomplete without him and a blessing is lacking in the spirit.
For the Lord commanded Moses concerning the cats at the departure of the Children of Israel from Egypt.
For every family had one cat at least in the bag.
For the English Cats are the best in Europe.
For he is the cleanest in the use of his forepaws of any quadruped.
For the dexterity of his defence is an instance of the love of God to him exceedingly.
For he is the quickest to his mark of any creature.
For he is tenacious of his point.
For he is a mixture of gravity and waggery.
For he knows that God is his Saviour.
For there is nothing sweeter than his peace when at rest.
For there is nothing brisker than his life when in motion.
For he is of the Lord’s poor and so indeed is he called by benevolence perpetually–Poor Jeoffry! poor Jeoffry! the rat has bit thy throat.
For I bless the name of the Lord Jesus that Jeoffry is better.
For the divine spirit comes about his body to sustain it in complete cat.
For his tongue is exceeding pure so that it has in purity what it wants in music.
For he is docile and can learn certain things.
For he can set up with gravity which is patience upon approbation.
For he can fetch and carry, which is patience in employment.
For he can jump over a stick which is patience upon proof positive.
For he can spraggle upon waggle at the word of command.
For he can jump from an eminence into his master’s bosom.
For he can catch the cork and toss it again.
For he is hated by the hypocrite and miser.
For the former is afraid of detection.
For the latter refuses the charge.
For he camels his back to bear the first notion of business.
For he is good to think on, if a man would express himself neatly.
For he made a great figure in Egypt for his signal services.
For he killed the Ichneumon-rat very pernicious by land.
For his ears are so acute that they sting again.
For from this proceeds the passing quickness of his attention.
For by stroking of him I have found out electricity.
For I perceived God’s light about him both wax and fire.
For the Electrical fire is the spiritual substance, which God sends from heaven to sustain the bodies both of man and beast.
For God has blessed him in the variety of his movements.
For, tho he cannot fly, he is an excellent clamberer.
For his motions upon the face of the earth are more than any other quadruped.
For he can tread to all the measures upon the music.
For he can swim for life.
For he can creep.
Nice one.. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome Molly. Thanks for sharing.
JCL
Thanks, Molly for an awesome post!
Regarding the Children of Israel leaving Egypt with a cat in the bag, is this where we get the term, “Don’t let the cat out of the bag”?
Just wondering.

**Retired police dogs get retirement plans**
written by: Colleen Locke , Producer created: 7/29/2007 2:39:25 PM
Last updated: 7/30/2007 12:32:40 PM
Chennai, India – The regional government recently set up a retirement plan for retired police dogs.
The government in southern India decided to do this because in several instances, retired police dogs were auctioned off to owners who mistreated the dogs.
The annual pension works out to about $470.
Retired dogs will now be kept at state kennels. The government will pay for all their food, grooming and medical bills.
It sounds better than an abusive home but I wonder if it would serve the dogs better to have strict guidelines on who received the dogs and then checked on them for awhile until they are sure it is a good home.
**17Cameras Roll as Crooks Rob Spy Store**
posted by: Bob Pusatory , Director
N. RICHLANDS HILLS, Texas. – Two bold burglars struck a Texas store that sells some of the best security equipment money can buy. . .and not one or two, but 17 cameras were rolling when they did, catching all their quick work on tape.
“The point is nobody is safe. There is always a stupid criminal out there,” said Spy Supply owner Kris Webb.
The pair broke into Webb’s surveillance gear store in North Richland Hills, Texas last week.
“I’ve got them on no less than 17 cameras. . .We are a security business,” laughed Webb.
As if the name of the business wasn’t telling enough, multiple warning signs should have been.
“It is absolutely astounding that these people have the audacity to steal from us and not expect to get caught,” Webb said.
The 17 surveillance cameras caught several clear images of the two crooks who broke in through the store’s front door early Friday.
In one minute and 15 seconds the daring duo filled a trash can with close to $10,000 worth of spy equipment.
There’s even a clear shot of their getaway car.
Webb says he’s taking the robbery in stride.
“I’m pretty confident they will get caught. I’m not confidant we’ll get our equipment back,” Webb said.
Gee, can we say DUH!
Not everyone in N. Richland Hills is as stupid as those criminals!!! 😆

**Injured owl dodges a bullet**
By Elizabeth Dinan
edinan@seacoastonline.com
July 20, 2007 3:58 PM
PORTSMOUTH — An injured owl that was seconds from being euthanized by a police officer suddenly recovered and flew from the scene, according to police.
On Wednesday at 10:55 p.m., police were dispatched to Little Harbor Road, where an owl of unknown species was reported injured. A caller told dispatchers he accidentally hit the bird when it flew in front of his car, that he believed the owl had a broken wing and that it was lying about 200 yards down the road.
Police Lt. Dante Puopolo said Officer Eric Bentz took the bird by cruiser to an emergency veterinary clinic on Gosling Road, where he was told the clinic doesn’t treat wildlife. The officer also learned the Center for Wildlife in York, Maine was closed at the time.
Following his failed efforts to get the owl veterinary care, Bentz was charged with putting the animal out of its misery. Puopolo said when the officer placed the bird on the ground to conduct the task, the owl flew away.
The police spokesman said police believe the animal may have been stunned, then recovered. Dispatchers who entered the incident into the public police log, attributed it to Bentz’s “healing touch.â€
As nocturnal birds of prey, Puopolo said, it is not uncommon for owls to swoop down on mice illuminated by auto headlights, leading to their injury or demise.
‘m not really a “bird person” but I’m glad he is O.K. A great story!

I used to love watching him too. So Sad.
We lost a broadcast legend here in Houston over the weekend as well.
Marvin Zindler passed away (any of you guys who’ve lived in Houston over the last 2 decades know who he is).

Huddy’s Mama, I’m sorry to hear of the loss of another broadcasting legend, Marvin Zindler, and he was indeed a legend.

JCL
Thanks, Dee, for the post.
I’m saddened to hear that Tom Snyder has “signed off.”
Being a broadcaster, I agree with network executive, Peter Lassally where he’s quoted in the statement released by CBS: “When he was on the air, he made the camera disappear. It was just you and him, in a room together, having a talk.”
With the “unseen crew” laughing with Snyder in the background behind the cameras of the “Tomorrow Show” set on NBC, I felt like I was a member of that group.
In fact, when I worked on radio, I unknowingly emulated his style of talking with you, the viewer — not with an audience made up of many viewers. I spoke to my listeners as an individual, like a friend, rather than an audience of thousands. Sometimes the audience I had was not large, but at least my mom listened — or at least that’s what she told me!
But getting back to Tom — he was truly one of the best in the business. Like the way Johnny Carson would put his guest in front of himself — Snyder did the same.
With the passing of Snyder, I believe that leaves only Larry King of CNN to be a great interviewer. King can interview anyone, from politics to sports to entertainment, and the viewer can feel like they just participated in a quality interview.
Now, I’m going to sit back, relax, and watch the pictures, from my memory, as they fly through the air. Goodnight, Tom.
Signing off — this is The CatWrangler from Louisiana.
CatWrangler: I did not know you were in broadcasting. Very interesting to know this–I was in radio for 14 years, mostly producing, but air work as well–a fantastic medium, eh? Tom Snyder encapsulated the intimacy that every interviewer strives to achieve. Every time I watched his program, I felt like I was spending time with a beloved uncle.
JCL
Yep, Dee, Tom was the type of broadcaster that transcended and broke down the TV wall between the on air talent and the viewer.
I first started working on radio part-time when I was in college back in 1981.
Whoa! Typing 1981 just made me feel old!
Anyway, I worked as a full-timer for many years after that, climbing the ladder up to station management back in 1991. I’ll say one thing great about working on “television-without-a-picture”, I look awesome on radio! Tom Selleck has nothing on me!
GOD Bless You!
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Typing 1981 oughtn’t make you feel old; heck, I was 10 in 1981 and my oldest stepson was a newborn.
I turned 18 in 1981 and had just graduated from high school. Time does fly.
ok in 1981, I was married had a 1 year old and depending on the month was pregnant with #2. You all are making me feel old!!
I’m in your age bracket, dorie. You’re only as old as you feel. 🙂
Are you having a colortini in his honor?

Chuß!!
Hi TDK! These guys look like trouble.
Hello all!
I love TDK! I love seeing this kind, fun, caring community that has grown here…very cool. I work at Catster and think it’s so great to see so many folks here with Catster profiles.
Here are my two kittens that I just adopted last week (I have to send them in to this site!):

Squeezing little Raoul and Diego!
Hi, Patty. Thanks for sharing the photos of your kits. Working at Catster sounds like a dream job for a cat lover. I liked the photos of your shar pei as well. I’ve been owned by two different shar pei who’ve crossed the rainbow bridge. They both had great personalities, but were high maintenance health-wise.
Hi KW –
Catster is really a fun place to be…some of the folks bring their dogs in, and we keep talking about having a cat day too! Lots of passionate people, for sure.
Shar Pei…what can I say – they steal your heart, for sure. Our boy, Kyu-Jin, is basically dealing with chronic kidney failure (you know, such a common thing with them)…but he’s so young – 4 years old. We researched everything, gave him the right diet from the start (he was 11 weeks when we got him and his sister)…so it’s so hard to be faced with the idea of losing him. However, we nursed him back from the brink in October, and I just keep hoping we’ll be able to keep him healthy. They’re wonderful dogs…
Thanks for your kindness!
Patty
That’s kinda spooky. Not ten minutes aho I was thinking to myself, “hmmm, I wonder if the Catster/Dogster people are aware of how many people here have Catster profiles…”
You obviously are!
Hi Kittenmaster!
Wow, really? That is spooky…I was just searching around and found this – it actually took me a little while to see how many commenters had Catster links…so I couldn’t help but comment and say hi!
I’m also basically the “voice” of the Catster Cat, who is here: http://www.catster.com/cats/12 .
Purrs to all of you!
Hi! Great you came to see us. 🙂 We sure love Catster (and Dogster) too.
Your babies are so sweet – Can I cyber snuggle with them for a while?
Intel has done a major lay off. This might affect the number 8 best city. 1000 people are losing their job. They are going to try and tranfer some people. This is a blow to that economy for sure!
Third consecutive day of sunshine over here! My cats love me again! Didn’t last long; it meant we’ve been able to cut the (2 foot high) grass, and they sooo loved playing in it…
Here’s something to make you smile : unscheduled visit to vet’s tonight with Eric (has occasional blood in his poo; 99% of the time it’s down to the after affects of the appalling internal injuries inflicted on him by his previous owners – may they rot) – ANYWAY, very crowded waiting room, take seat, unfortunately it’s alongside the wrond end of a very nice, but very nervous and consequently windy greyhound…I just hope nobody thought it was me!!!
Eric is fine btw, bouncing around and nothing to worry about. Except the bill and trying to get his medicine down him (put it on his paw the vet said, he’ll lick it off. Like **** did he, one shake of the paw, and I had to clean a square yard of kitchen!)
What a great story about the trip to the vet! I’m glad Eric is none the worse for wear. I take it that the medicine is a liquid. I used to hide pills in a small piece of bread when I had a dog. Worked like a charm.
JCL
LOL! No wonder you’re the “MadcatwomanintheUK”!
Hi Madcatwoman in the UK,
If the medicine you have to give your cat Eric is liquid, do like I do with mine. I just mix the meds in a little spoon of canned food.
I had a kitten one time that needed to take her antibiotics. The vet said, just squirt it in her mouth. Easier said than done. She threw such a fit. I quit and sat there and talked to her and told her, now sweetie you need to take your medicine, so you’ll get better. I pleaded with her. I put some medicine in a spoon to mix up, when she just walked over and licked it out of the spoon!
I nearly fell over. I learned from then on, to try the easy way first, if that doesn’t work, do it the hard way. I’ve always had a special bond with cats. I very seldom have to administer meds, the way the vet instructs me. Love and patience does wonders.
Whenever I have to dose Rotley with liquids, I squirt the stuff into his mouth and he swallows, with rather poor grace.
Ruggles, however, turns into a furry commando. Dosing him with liquids involves towels, prayers, and persistance.
Bob didn’t mind the liquid meds at all – I actually think he liked them! He just sat there and sucked on the dropper till it was empty. Lucky me – he was on the meds twice daily for three weeks!
They are sooooo cute. My favorite is Raoul!
–Update on Julie–
I’m sorry to announce that was too sick & had to be helped on her way over the Rainbow Bridge.
Please forgive me for not staying on,as I am too upset at this time.
Thank you all for your prayers. They did help me in making the right decision for her. She was a very, very sick girl.
I’m so sorry that Julie is gone. May she have butterflies and grasshoppers to chase over the bridge and run straight into Chester’s arms at the end of the day.
You did well by her. I’m sorry it hurts so much right now. {{{hugs}}}
Dearest Susie I have been praying that you would find some relief today, that is not to be. I am so sorry. Please know that many people here are and will help you in anyway possible. It is time to grieve the loss of Julie, but please remember you loved her best and were there to ease her pain with love and kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Susie did find relief; unfortunately, it wasn’t sweet relief. At least Julie is no longer in agony.
I am so sorry to hear this, Susie.
You did your best for Julie. You loved her dearly and when it was time, you set your precious baby kitty free. She is okay now. She’s not hurting anymore. She has plenty of furry friends to play with her and keep her company at the Rainbow Bridge while she waits for you.
Having lost one of my baby kitties recently, I know it hurts terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
*hugs*
I’m so sorry Susie…. Julie has been greeted by Chester so you know she’s going to be fine.
Healing light and love to you, dear Susie!
OMG. My condolences. At least you know Julie’s in the Kingdom of Heaven, and my dog Shadow and my cat Kitty Kat are showing her where Jesus puts the cat treats and the yarn. She will play forever in the House of the Lord; the little turd who shot her, however, may wind up in ‘the other place’ for killing an innocent creature who wasn’t attacking him/her.
JCL
Dear Susie,
I am saddened to hear of the passing of Julie. I pray that GOD, in HIS own special way, will comfort you and bless your heart in this most difficult time.
GOD Bless You,
The CatWrangler from Louisiana
I’m so sorry, Susie. May you find some comfort in your good memories of sweet Julie. *Hugs*
Oh, Susie…so sorry beyond the telling. I hope that knowing you did the right thing for her comes to help.
I am so sorry Susie. Chester will welcome her with open arms and the other kitties will show her where the best catnip, treats and butterflies are. Time will heal your wounded heart. Hugs and purrs to you.
Suzie
(((Hugs)))) and prayers in your grief! I’m soo sorry!!
peace
Dorie
Oh Susie, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Julie. Know that in your grief, we are all hear for you at this time. Take good care, my friend. Come back to us when you can. Hugs and Purrs and more hugs. Lynn
Susie,
I am so sorry. I know my sweet baby Black Jack was waiting for Julie at the Rainbow Bridge. Chester is taking good care of them. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight. It is very hard for them to go and it hurts but I know that she was well loved. Purrs to you.
She’s safe and happy at the Rainbow Bridge with many furry playmates.
Aw Susie, I’m so sorry to hear about your Julie. It is the hardest decision to make but for the best.
Susie, So very sorry about Julie. >>
Oh, Susie, it must have been/be hard, but that poor sick girl is not sick or hurting any more. Thank you for standing at her side all the way through. {hugs}
I am so sorry for your loss–she is in a better place, waiting to be reunited with you someday. You did the best you could for her and she knows you loved her.
I’m sorry, I meant ‘Julie was too sick’
Susie, when I read your message, I had this image in my mind of a small and purring cat, curled up and dozing in the curve of a great hand.
We are all with you in your grief, dear friend! Please be comforted — you did everything right. And now Julie is well.
You loved her enough to set her free. Now she is well and playing like the kitten her spirit will always be. You’ll be with her again one day. Find peace, dear Susie. God bless.
Dear Susie, so sorry about little Julie. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that she’s no longer in pain, but running about chasing butterflies at the rainbow bridge with her new friend, Emma and all the others…… Please hang in there and know that you did the right thing for her. I’ll be thinking of you – come back to TDK whenever you’re ready – your friends here will all be waiting for you! Hugs!

What a couple of cool German brothers showing off for the world!
I liked MeezerMama’s last sentence in an early post: “These guys look like super cute trouble.”
And then Huddy’s Mama with the cat nip from pusher, Catherine in Waco, Texas that spilled onto her carpet last night, only to find Huddy laying on it this morning. Furthermore, Huddy’s Mama had to check Huddy into ppearson in KY W/Gracie, Emma and Thierry’s Young Hollywood Catnip Rehab.
“What in the heck is the world coming to?” — Sheriff Buford T. Justice of Texas (Slightly toned down. This is a family site after all!)
“Y’all take care — and Raoul and Diego — don’t fur-git to clean your paws before — and after dinner.”
— The CatWrangler from Louisiana
Okay having a hard time catching my breath after laughing my fool head off!
they are so cute lovw them
These kittens are too cute! But I noticed some “Who ME!” attitudes!
Hello, all. I wanted to let you know that I recieved a letter today from the Burke County Friends for Animals thanking me for my donation. If some of you are new, I put out a challenge. In hindsight, I realize that this was not a smart move. I made many of my friends here feel guilty that they could not step up to the challenge. They were just trying to get by day to day, or had many other animals they were trying to take care of, or just couldn’t. I never meant this to be a contest of any kind. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time. I just knew that I wanted Jerry’s memory to live on forever. I don’t know why, only knew him from here, but the longer you stay here, you know each person that you connect to. Anyway, it was my wish that he have a plaque with his name on it, in a “cat house”! It looks like it will be a “Kitten House”! So much the better! I will call tomorrow (they have limited phone hours) to see how much has been donated so far, as alot of you have asked. I will make monthly payment to Jerry’s kitten house to make sure that the babies we are sponsoring get good and loving homes. Again, I want to thank you all who donated and all who may donate in the future. To keep a former friend who no longer can post, happy to take care of those we entrust into his care when they go over the bridge for me, is a small price to pay.
I remember BO, who was in dire straits and needed help. We all steppped up, to get him help. We help each other. Just as Susie asked for help for Julie, so many of you came to ask, could we paypal or send money to the vet. Do you have any idea, how comforting that was for her? Knowing that she may not take you up on it, didn’t stop you all from offering. You all are the best.
Susie, know that Julie is in our beloved Chester’s arms and holding you, saying she is ok.
I will keep his memory alive for as long as I live in donations to this wonderful shelter. Dee, can’t say enough. Thank you, dear friend, for finding this wonderful shelter. God Bless.
Have a good night, all. Sleep well and comfort for those who need it, and purrs and hugs to all the furbabies out there. Til tomorrow. Hugs and purrs, Lynn
God’s continued blessing pour out to you Lynn, your love and kindness is greatly admired.
Thank you Sox’s Mom. I know you have been with me from the beginning. Hugs and Purrs to you too, my friend. Hugs and Purrs. Lynn
So cute!!!!!!!!
OK, I’ve been reading and crying and laughing for several hours.
I can’t wait until I get internet at home, so I can read weekend blogs on the weekend.
Hi TDKers, KM, Alex, lurkers.
It’s Monday, and I was hit with the loss of one of our IT guys. 39 yrs old and had a stroke this morning, and died. He was one of the really good ones.
Then to come in and read all the sadness over the weekend.
It really is a Monday.
Susie,
I am so sorry for you loss. Feel free to grieve as long as you need to, and don’t let those un-pet people tell you it’s is silly to grieve over a pet. They will never understand that our pets are our family.
Hugs to you.
Leeanne,
Hope Kittyman gets well soon. Healing energy and head bonks to you.
boyzandme,
I am hoping that Camo comes home, soon. My thoughts are with you.
Everyone who needs good energy sent, consider it done.
I love the kitties this weekend, and today’s two boys are beauties. I could easily take them both home with me.
Purrs and head bonks to everyone.
Thanks for the comic relief Cat Wrangler from LA (my home state).
Artisabobbi, so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I hope this little note gives you some comfort. Hugs and purrs. Lynn
artistabobbi I am so sorry to hear about your coworker. Prayers of peace and comfort to you and to his family and friends.
Thanks, Lynn and Sox’s Mom for your kind words.
Grief and tears are a small price to pay for loving.
artistabobbi, I’m so sorry for your loss. You truely are sweet, in your grief you still send wishes to find my Camo I can’t tell you how much that means and what an outstanding person you are. Thank you.
Prayers to comfort you.
Bobbi, my heart is with you even though I am far away. Remember each and every one of us at TDK are part of a large (haha world wide) family and we each care deeply when any of us hurt. Love Terri
I am sorry to hear about your coworker. You must have a big heart and strong shoulders to carry not only your own sorrows but also ours. {Hugs.}

Lynn, many thanks to you for your blessed donation(s). You are an angel and please don’t feel like you have offended me in the least by being able to do something I can’t. Thank you again for your generosity and kindness for the wonderful rememberance of Chester.
Susie, so sorry to hear the Julie crossed the bridge. She is happy, chasing butterflies and dragonflies and probably froclicking with Chester and the others that have passed too.
Love TDK more everyday, the family feeling gets stronger all the time.
MerD thanks for the cookbook!!!
Thank you, Fluffy AZDeb, your words are very kind. I will do what I can. My only wish is that I could help each and every one of you in your times of need. I can’t. But know, as each day passes and each conversation we have, I feel all the pain, all the frustration, and all the love that we share. Thank you again, dear friend. Hugs and Purrs and a good nights sleep. Lynn

What adorable brothers!
When the time comes for me to have cats again I want siblings so they can grow up together. Just think of all the mischief two can get into together.
Did all of you take a class on how to photograph kittens?
I never saw so many cute kitties in my life. My friends are under orders. DO NOT SHOW ME ANY MORE KITTENS.
😆
