That little Goomba has the cutest spotty face! Many hugs to her.
That kitten is so cute! i want to hurt him!!!
What is wrong with you?
I think you meant ” hug”, right?
What an absolute darling! That expression speaks for itself!
What a gorgeous little face…truly beautiful.
Goomba! Gottcha! Not running off with the little furball just going to give her some loving and then return her to her rightful place. She is a pretty little Calico Kitty.
May she bring you years of Love, laughter and joy…
Ted
Seconded! I couldn’t have said it better.
Lola reminds me of my tortie Pumpkin. When she was little she would fall asleep biting you and then wake up to finish biting you. She is now a sweetheart, but can bite with force when called for. Also, she can hold her own with my boy cats, slapping them across the face if they get too close.
Kisses for the little nose. What a sweetheart. Is she contemplating pouncing on the camera or the camera person–
What a face! Aren’t you lucky to have this magnificent creature? I’m sure she’s having a great time marauding through her universe. Kittens are such prescences in our lives….
How cute ! with an italian name ?? it has many meanings .friend, boyfriend ,pal .
I think that little Goomba is trying to hypnotize the holder of the camera.
What a cute little fluffball! I wonder how long the camera strap will be safe for…
Am, for the answer to your question, click on my name and look at my Lucy!
Very cute!
Smokey was far more interested in making nose prints on the lens when she was a kitten!
My daughter and I always wanted a tuxedo baby–we got one and Sox was a most beautiful boy. My husband has always wanted a calico. He took one look at todays beautiful baby and melted. Then he read the description of her attitude, and he exclaimed that is Teaser (his smoky grey/black stripped kitty)! Thank you for sharing her beauty.
Hi Sox’s Mom,
How’s it going? I have to agree with your hubby, I wanna callie myself. They are so beautifully splashed with color and have such sweet yet spitfire personalities. True little wild cats. ;0)
Morning everyone. Hope everyone is having a great break. Now this sweet heart is exactly what I needed to see this morning before I return to work at the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras. Day two and after yesterday I’m bushed. Found it hard to get up this morning so sleepy. But this sweet heart put a mischievous smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart so I am ready for round 2. Everyone Take care. Sorry I have missed a few days, I have been peeking in at the fuzzbutts but have not had enough time to reply or comment. Take care.
HI Alex! Having fun this memorial break?
Take care, Bye y’all. Hey have I missed any good recipes lately that I should be looking for?
Ange
The calico’s I ve had were all wild childs. Into everything
all the time. She has that look of what are you doing I’m innocent.
She is beautiful tho.
chester
Good morning Chester. So glad you got to see this cute kitten this morning. Has to make you feel better. I think about you everyday and pray for your health and strength. Is it Tuesday that you go to the Hospital? I thought you said the 29th but not sure.
My calico Zasha turned 18 years old today. A spoiled rotten girl because she was my only for 14 years. Her life changed when Munchie, a starving kitten, ran into the house one autumn evening. Couldn’t put him out. Then the rescues started in earnest and now there are 20 others for her to dislike. 😛
Yea Tues the day. Kinda going out of my mind. Not that I had one to start with. Have been under the knife before. Both were said to be life threating. Didn’t find out about the cancer till afterwards. Thank god for that. That one was for a colapsed duodinum or something like that. See I have very littel digestive system left from the first one. Would make a lousy cat haven’t had a simple glass of milk since 1983. I guess it’s because on this one I’m not married & have no support (forive me but in “that” way to burn off energy). Heck even then I had cats & a dog to help. Now I just get to sit & wait. Thought it was going to be a long wait but it’s coming faster than I can stand. Anyone own stock in a beer store????
Hi to all the Susan’s out there who been real uportive & just to who’s thinking about me. Hopefully this will be the last time will have to go through this. But grew up at the mouth of the keys & spent most of my time outside.
Hi Chester, I’m here for you. I’ve e-mailed too. Tuesday AM is when I start up with the Gut Guy again. I’ll be thinking of you, I know. Hang tough, my friend. You’ll be better, and a heck of a lot less stressed, after you wake up from surgery. Susan
Hey, Chester….sending loads of positive energy your way. We care. Hope you’re feeling better real soon…..
Thinking about you and sending all good wishes.
Chester, hope you are able to keep up your spirits. Cute little Goomba will help, I hope. Keep us posted. You have many TDKrs praying for you, with lots of positive messages. Best wishes, friend.
Hi, Chester! Glad you joined us today!
For sure! My Patches runs along the plant shelves in my living room. I love calicos and torties. This one is gorgeous! I would take her in a NY minute!
I always said if my Patches were human I would have had to get her phsychiartic help. She had a lot of purrsonality
What a face, makes me truely believe in angels on earth……..My angel Erwin always walks up to me and kiss me square on the lips…….LOL where he ever thought of that I will never know, but I have to say on a tough day I feel better kissed my my fuzzbutt than my husband LOL
Brandi that is so funny Petey who has with three families all of them mine jumps up on my lap and keeps kissing me on the lips. I asked my sister-in-law if he did that at her house and she said no. I let him kiss me three or four times I told him anymore than that and I better see a ring on my finger! He is the only kitty I have had that kisses he even jumps up on the bed and kisses me than curls up next to my back. Now is he was a 2 two legged guy named Petey I wouldn’t object.
My Molly loves to kiss on the lips and nose to nose. She is always really intent when she comes up to kiss me–she kisses the other animals, too. I think it is because she was 4 weeks when I got her and gave her lots of kisses although not on the lips LOL but I think thats where she got the idea.
Petey was 6 months old when my neice adopted him from his foster mom and he is 11 years old now and just started the kissey face.
Yeah more kissy babies LOL ………I think that is so great 🙂 I have to ay I think it is so great when they walk uo to you and just smack one on ya………..call me a crazy cat mom i dont care……….I am away right now taking care of my real baby so I miss my fuzz very much………….I am addicted to cats lol
Good Day everyone. Goomba’s photo has got to make it as top kitten or calendar kitten somewhere. The cutest and a definite keeper. I’m sure her picture would melt even the most hardened of heart.
One of my kittens born 3 weeks ago is a calico tortie too. She has a face that I just can’t stop looking at. So precious like Goomba. Trying to get a good pic of her to submit. She keeps moving. Last evening she was learning how to run, have you ever seen a wee wobbly baby do the side ways dance or fall over mid run. So adorable. Leilani (Hawaiian) is the name I’m thinking about for her.
Incredible face on this baby! Just gorgeous.
Ange, don’t work too hard at Mardi Gras! Breakfast in bed for hubby and a soak in the hot tub started our day. It would be nice to grill out, but with all the smoke hanging in the air from the forest fires it might not be a good idea to add to it. Guess George Foreman will have to come to the rescue. Happy day all.
Sharon–My boyfriend has a George Foreman grill and I am pleasantly surprised at how good of a job it does. And grilled bananas are great for dessert–especially on top of ice cream!
I forgot to ask—-what are the kitties eating these days?
Dee, grilled bananas sound wonderful. Our waiter served up plantains to my hubby who grew up calling them plantanos. The little boy told hubby that in his country they split them and put cheese in the middle to cook them. Mmmm
Rusty dawg eats Beneful shredded meat stews and the kits eat nonrecalled commercial food. With three new mouths competing to eat the older ones aren’t so persnickety. 🙂
But that doesn’t diminish my appreciation of you trying to protect our babies and our local economies.
Sharon–I have two plaintains sitting on my counter waiting for them to ripen. They are delicious when they are almost black and you can saute them with butter and brown sugar—or just throw in the microwave for a couple minutes. SO good. I’ve never had them with cheese–I’d bet that would be really good, also. There is a large Cuban population in this area and I’ve grown to love Cuban food. And plantanos served green or ripe are a delicious Cuban custom. Oh–and plantain chips! Yum! Similar to potato chips but with more crunch and substance. You probably have those in your neck of the woods, eh?
Oh–and in response to your last line–you’re very welcome.
Yep…was looking at plantains in Kroger this afternoon. I’ve had banana chips many times but plantain chips sound better…
That sounds good but so do bananas sauted in a skillet with brown sugar and either rum or brandy flambed then put it over ice cream.
The best kitten picture I’ve seen in ages, how adorable is that face!!
Cute little furbaby! May God bless you and Goomba always. 🙂
OMG. This cutie patootie is the CUTEST!! I luv how she’s so adorable!!! Keep staying cute Goomba!!!
🙂 😉 :0
Calico freak here, absolutely in love with this one!! Be still my heart!!!!!
What a beautiful kitty!
Hope you have many wonderful years with this lively little one. 🙂
OMG ❗ She could be the twin of my little Bobbie Boo! Love her!
Goomba is such a great name to match such beautiful coloring; what a cutie!
She is beautiful and your girlfriend picked just a perfect name for her.If I were you I would not change it.
Awwwwwwwwww……*kisses Goomba and pets her fluffiness*
This kitty just became my desktop. Too cute and an instant smile maker.
What a beautiful kitten! Calicoes are so special. They are regal and full of “attitude”. Anyone who has been “owned” by one would agree! 🙂
What a cuttie. I gave my mom a calico that some one threw into my back yard. She got into my apartment and my corgi mix chased her up one of my wall hangings. She is the funniest cat she love to drink out of the tub faucet and get sopping wet.
OMG! How adorable is that? I WANT that kitten!
What an adorable little baby! The look of mischief in her eyes was enough to wake me up this morning even without my coffee!
I just lost my 14yr old Calico a couple of weeks ago and seeing this little eye-opening bundle of cute was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits.
Sorry to hear that Owlwatcher. Thanks to Kittenmaster for brightening up your day. What was your baby’s name?
Her name was C.C. which stood for Calico Cat, Crazy Cat, Cuddly Cat – or whatever we could think of depending on how much cattitude she was giving us.
This is a picture of my C.C.
A friend loved the picture and asked me to make these for her. Unfortunately my computer crashed last week so I don’t have the large version of the picture anymore.
http://www.cafepress.com/owlwatcher974.81467648
Very lovely photo of a very lovely baby.
Awww, CC looks like a little attitudinal calico kitty–just like the one I grew up with! Adorable.
Thanks for the kind words. C.C. was full of sweet purry attitude. If she wanted something, she would let me know about it – first with her voice, then with her claws. If I got impatient with her for using me as a clawing post because I didn’t give her what she wanted right away, she would just look at me and melt my heart with those beautiful green eyes and there was no way I could be mad at her. Most of the time (when she wasn’t clawing me) she was such a sweet little girl and would spend the evenings curled up in my lap while we watched T.V.
Watching T.V, just isn’t the same without her
Oh, adorable kitty. So sorry for your loss.
😆
I am so sorry to hear that==purrs and hugs to you.
Very sad news, owlwatcher. Glad this baby lifted your spirits. Is this the first time you’ve joined us? Nice to have you along.
I’ve visited this site almost daily for the last few months but this is the first time I have posted.
Sending love and hugs your way, owlwatcher.
Thank-you
Goomba has the cutest pink nose and enormous FB’s! And I want to squish her tiny chin–gently, of course…
What was the original name of Memorial Day?
Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day. After World War II, the use of “Memorial Day” became more common, but was not declared the official name by Federal law until 1967.
With you Dee, we all learn something new every day! Thanks. 🙂
I grew up calling it Decoration Day. At one time with traveling on wagons or horseback people would pack picnic lunches and eat and visit on the grass after the graves were decorated. My great aunt refused to use the new name and would celebrate it on the “correct” day not on the Monday. She was 66 when it was changed.
**Man Runs Onto Airport Grounds To Protest Noise**
POSTED: 10:38 am PDT May 25, 2007
BOULDER, Colo. — One man apparently had heard all the noise he cared to hear from the airport next to his house.
Witnesses told police that Greg Camalier, 39, ran onto the Boulder Municipal Airport grounds March 26, cursing at aircraft overhead, waving his arms and complaining about noise. Camalier was given a 12-month deferred sentence Thursday for trespassing on public property.
A police report said he got within 15 feet of a helicopter taxiing on a runway.
His attorney, David Harrison, said Camalier is embarrassed and “nothing similar will ever happen again.”
Airport officials said that before the incident, Camalier had called the airport to complain at least twice. Camalier told the Daily Camera newspaper that his complaints were about a single helicopter and he didn’t make some of the statements witnesses attributed to him.
Prosecutors dropped an obstruction charge in exchange for Camalier’s guilty plea to trespassing. The deferred sentence means he will avoid jail unless he’s charged with a similar offense in the next year.
JCL
No offense, but I would never live near an airport or a landfill. Someday they made need to expand the facility and when they do the ‘poop’ is gonna hit the fan when the neighbors protest.
Me — I like peace and quiet — with a “fuzz-bucket” on my lap, or nearby, to help me pass the time away.
“Y’all take care, and don’t fur-git to clean your paws before — and after dinner.” — The CatWrangler from Louisiana
How can you tresspass on public land? In Chicago people who have homes surrounding O’Hare airport pay no taxes but still complain about the noise. The airport was there first they knew that when they bought the house for a low price and no property tax.
**Funeral Home Invests In Harley-Davidson-Drawn Hearse**
POSTED: 10:35 am PDT May 25, 2007
NEW YORK — Harley-Davidson enthusiasts who take the motto “Live to Ride, Ride to Live” to heart now have a proper conveyance to hog heaven.
A Long Island funeral home chain invested $100,000 in a three-wheeled Harley and carriage-style hearse for bikers who want to go out in style.
So far, reaction has been “favorable and positive,” Michael Moloney of Moloney Family Funeral Homes said Thursday during a Manhattan demonstration.
“People see it and go, ‘Wow, this can be really cool and different for my dad, for my uncle,”‘ Moloney said.
The black hearse is a replica of a 19th-century horse-drawn carriage and features sconces in each corner, a large window on either side and burgundy and gold curtains. It can fit caskets up to 39 inches wide and carry more than 900 pounds of coffin and dead weight. The black and chrome motorcycle is a 2006 Road King Classic.
For $795, a driver will take the dearly departed from the funeral home to the house of worship, then on to the cemetery — compared to $475 to $575 for a lift in a traditional hearse, they said.
Moloney said his family hoped to capitalize on a high concentration of military veterans and bike fanatics on Long Island.
“It’s not morbid, it’s cool,” he said. “It’s a way for people to always remember your funeral.”
Eamon Connors, 38, who rides with a Brooklyn biker club when he’s not driving a bus, loves the idea.
“It’s unique, something different,” said Connors, who like other passers-by snapped a picture with his cell phone. “If you’re going to go out, you gotta go out in style, right?”
Hi Dee,
Here in Michigan, there are a lot of bikers, and having just begun working for a new funeral home, I have learned that there are all kinds of hearses. We are able to use the regular ones, the bike-hearse, and we even have a horse drawn carriage available. We are even able to get a “tricked out” Harley Davidson limousine for the family. (Sounds morbid, I know, but we try to do everything we can to help families through these times.)
Calico kitties are wonderful! I had 17 years with my Kirby before she went over the Rainbow Bridge. My best friend will never be fogotten, even though I love my Max and Molly.
Very sweet…
**Workers Recover 98-Year-Old Olympia Woman’s Ring From Sewage Line**
POSTED: 10:33 am PDT May 25, 2007
OLYMPIA, Wash. — It was a mucky job, but the reward was great.
Alma F. Coate-Wilson, 98, accidentally flushed her $8,000, 1.6-carat diamond wedding ring down the toilet in the middle of the night two months ago.
Devastated, she wrote a letter to the city’s public works department, pleading with help in recovering it. Usually the department has no time to grant such requests, but they decided to try this time.
Maintenance workers Bill Davis and Jean Wright started by sending a camera through the sewer line. It didn’t work. Then they flushed the main line, blocking solids using pea gravel. Finally, they went through the solids with a garden hose and found the ring.
Four city employees returned it to Coate-Wilson this week.
“I was the happiest girl in the world,” she said. “I was floored.”
Coate-Wilson, a retired teacher, said she was given the ring 39 years ago by Gilbert Coate, to whom she was married for 23 years.
After his death she married his fishing buddy, Lee Wilson.
“Until my death, I wanted to have it (the ring), of course,” she said.
haha!
**Pickpockets Snatch Oslo Police Chief’s Wallet**
Police Were Kicking Off Campaign Against Pickpockets
POSTED: 4:19 am PDT May 25, 2007
OSLO, Norway — A police campaign to crack down on pickpockets has come too late to help the capital’s top crime fighter.
Police Chief Anstein Gjengedal’s wallet was snatched by a pickpocket as the campaign was set to begin, the Oslo newspaper Dagbladet reported Friday.
The police chief was on the Oslo airport train Monday when a group of people jostled him. When he checked a few minutes later, his wallet was gone.
“I didn’t have much money with me,” he was quoted as saying. “But it still wasn’t very nice.”
Gjengedal said he had followed police advice by having the wallet in the inner pocket of his jacket, but the thieves got it anyway.
According to Dagbladet, Gjengedal’s deputy — Bjoern Aage Hansen — wasn’t aware of the theft when he announced the “Safe Summer” campaign later in the week, vowing that “we will have a special focus on pickpockets.”
This is very disconserting…
**Survey: Many Drivers Wouldn’t Pass Test**
84 Percent Don’t Know What To Do On Yellow Light
POSTED: 7:11 am PDT May 25, 2007
UPDATED: 8:05 am PDT May 25, 2007
What drivers think they know about the rules of the road might just get them in trouble someday.
According to the results from the 2007 GMAC Insurance National Drivers Test, one in six drivers on the road — roughly 36 million licensed Americans — would not pass their written department of motor vehicles exam if they had taken today.
The third-annual survey by GMAC Insurance gauges driver knowledge of the rules of the road by testing licensed Americans on actual questions from state DMV license exams.
According to this year’s results, New York drivers ousted Rhode Island by ranking last in all 50 states and the District of Columbia on driver knowledge.
Idaho, on the other hand, topped the list and dethroned Oregon’s tenure at first place as the most knowledgeable drivers in the United States. While the national average score was 77.1 percent, New Yorkers had an average of 71 percent and the highest failure rates — 36 percent; Idaho had an average score of 81.7 percent.
In general, geographical regions ranked similarly to previous years, with Arkansas, Minnesota, Kansas and Wisconsin ranking in the top five and New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the bottom five among all states.
“All Americans need a refresher course when it comes to basic driving rules,” said Gary Kusumi, CEO and president of GMAC Insurance Personal Lines Division. “Being a safe driver is about conduct, judgment and knowledge. We’re hoping this year’s results encourage people to arm themselves with the knowledge they need to stay safe.”
What Does Yellow Mean?
Respondents completed 20 questions drawn from actual DMV tests. GMAC Insurance National Drivers Test respondents found two questions particularly vexing this year, driving scores down across the board: 81 percent couldn’t identify the proper following distance from the car in front of them — the correct answer is two seconds.
Even more — 84 percent — couldn’t identify the correct action to take when approaching a steady yellow traffic light — which is to stop if it is safe to do so.
Other points of interest drawn from the 2007 GMAC Insurance National Drivers Test include:
The older the driver, the higher the test score. Drivers 35-plus years old were most likely to pass.
More than half of respondents — 55 percent — don’t know how many feet to signal before making right or left turns.
More than 2 in 5 drivers are unaware of the meaning of a diamond-shaped sign — warning sign.
Nearly all respondents — 98 percent — know what to do when an emergency vehicle with flashing lights approaches, what to do when hydroplaning and the meaning of a solid yellow line.
South Atlantic Region Lowest
Illinois, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Massachusetts were the least knowledgeable states overall, with average scores lower than 75 percent.
Idaho and Alaska were the most knowledgeable, with average scores over 81 percent.
Regions displaying the highest failure rates were the South Atlantic — 20.8 percent — and New England — 15.7 percent.
Down here below the Mason Dixon Line if yousee someone using their turn signal they are either a transplanted Yankee or it was on when they bought the car. My bro has lived here for 21 years and most often than not does not use turn signal to the frustration of his wife and me.
COBB county means “can’t operate blinkers or brakes”. But remember in Starman when Jeff Bridges, an alien, observed that “red light means stop, green light means go and yellow light means go very fast”?
Sharon I never saw that movie but the writer had that dead on.
Susan, we’re just going to have to make a weekend where I bring up a bunch of movies for you to watch while crafting your canes. Hubby can keep making us popcorn.
That movie was great!
Susan–you always crack me up!
ROTFL!!!
Jen in WA—I just viewed a slideshow of Whidbey Island. Have you been there? The pics are breathtaking–click on link for slideshow.
http://www.kirotv.com/news/13359604/detail.html
Dee – the whole western part of the state of Washington looks very similar. Check out the any of the islands in the Strait of Juan de Fuca – Camano, for example. Or go north to Vancouver Island (Canada) and look at the Broken Group.
Lynne–having lived in the Southeastern part of the US for the past 23 years, I am very intrigued by the Northwest. I’m going to check out pics of the areas you mentioned.
Lynne, didn’t you have a problem with a feral kitty and her litter by the school? What happened?
Well, this made me all misty!
**ASPCA SUCCESS STORY OF THE WEEK: PATIENCE MAKES PERFECT**
While volunteering for the LAPAW shelter in Louisiana, Kyra Randall saw her share of needy pooches, but was always able to restrain herself from adopting. “I already had two shelter dogs,†Kyra says, “and I really had no inclination at that time to get a third.â€
But then one Saturday afternoon she was asked to take a seven-year-old black Labrador—simply known as “Dogâ€â€”who’d been living in a boarding kennel for five years, to an adoption fair. “As she sat quietly in her cage,†Kyra recalls, “people came by and looked at her, but no one wanted to adopt an older dog. Some people even made fun of her name.†As Kyra drove the quiet Lab back to the kennel that afternoon, she decided to call her Daphney. “She needed a real name,†Kyra says.
When Kyra picked Daphney up for an adoption fair the next Saturday, the pooch eagerly wagged her tail. “She was happy to see me, and I was happy to see her,†Kyra says. Again, no one adopted the canine. Kyra remembers, “When we got back to the boarding kennel, Daphney looked at me with her sad brown eyes as if to say, ‘I want a home’. At that moment, I knew she had adopted me.â€
Although the first few weeks at Kyra’s house were difficult for everyone—Daphney was not used to being in a house and was afraid of everything, including the toilet flushing, the doorbell ringing and visitors—it took only two months for her to show marked improvement. “She was playing with the other dogs, had quickly learned the word ‘treat’ and loved to give kisses,†Kyra reports. The shy Lab even politely investigated a visitor on her own!
“With a lot of understanding and patience, Daphney began to realize this was her home,†Kyra says. “I figured if she could be patient and wait five years for a home, I could certainly be patient in giving her one.â€
Awwww how sweet. I saw that Sarah McLaughlin (sp) commerical a week ago my gosh I cried so hard I missed most of the show. I wish I lived on a farm so I could have dogs and they could run around to get excerise. I just cannot walk them and being cooped up in my small apartment wouldn’t be fair to them believe me I know. A friend had one of those burried electronic fences for her part black Lab and part Chow Chow the other part we think was a Buick car. She definetly was a gentle giant and never jumped up on me or tried to push past me on the stairs. I think she just knew to be gentle with me as I am not steady on my feet.

Massage – Gently rubbing your head, neck, and shoulders can help relieve tension.
Deep breaths – Breathing deeply and slowly from the abdomen can be done while sitting or lying down.
Decrease sensory clutter – Turning off or tuning out extra noises, lights, and activities can decrease sensory stress and other things that might be causing your headache.
Use temperature – Taking a hot or cold shower or applying a hot or cold towel or pack to your neck, head, and shoulders can help to relieve pain and stress, depending on the cause.
Thought exercises – Image you’re in a calm, serene, and quiet place.
Stretching – Can help to relax the muscles.
Use relaxation techniques – Meditation and activities like yoga or Tai Chi can help relax your body, calm your mind, and take your thoughts off the pain.
Exercise – Taking a brisk walk or doing some other vigorous activity for at least 5 to 10 minutes may help.
Find a soothing rhythm – Closing your eyes and repeating calm words or phrases, listening to calm music or ocean rhythms, and rocking or moving to a steady rhythm can bring about relaxation.
Examine your diet – Dehydration, certain foods, or allergies can be the culprits in chronic headaches. Get enough fluids and explore which foods might give you headaches.
Take a break – Looking at a computer or being in the same position for long periods can cause muscle tension. Take a short break every hour and remember to focus your eyes away from the computer screen at least once every 15 minutes.
Note: Talk to your doctor if you continue to have severe headache pain. It could be the symptom of a more serious problem.
If those remedies fail try a stiff martini.
Stiff martini for a stiff neck? :-))
Very sweet article…

Goomba is not an Italian word – it is an Italian-American (in the U.S. sense) term that I’d first heard in New York City. Never heard it here. Seems to come from the Italian term “compare” – associate, buddy or accomplice.
Confess I think Lola is a prettier name for such a feminine little face, but she is adorable by any name.
This is the cutest little kitten! She could cause all the trouble she wanted in my house…I don’t think I would even have the heart to scold her. Pretty, pretty princess. 🙂

beautifull little Angel ……AWWWW….kisses
I have one of these only with a black spot on her nose..she is feisty too & wants to be the “alpha” female & my other two are not taking it kindly….I named mine “Ginger” she is a bit of spice. LOL
Wound you consider her markings (which are similar to Bobbies) as a multi colored Tuxido?
Greycat, as I thought “Goombah” is a U.S. term, not an Italian word. “Goombah” (especially with an h at the end) is not at all an Italian word order. (Sorry, I’m a translator…).
By the way, my furry friend is named Renzo, which is about as Italian as you can get!
Still in love with little Lola/Goomba. A precious little calico doll.
