Brotherly love!
AHHHHH!!!! I am owned by an orangie! They are too cute and cuddly! How sweet. And how very good of you to take both. They will never be lonely.
I -looove- orange boys, I’ve had two (Siddhartha and Basil). Sid had green eyes, Baz had golden ones. Orange boys are very loveable.
Funny, my orange boy is a loverboy, but he’s also a bit of a bully.
Yes, mine is too! He is the most loving of my cats, but then he gets too excited and likes to nip at me. What is up with that? But he is just loverly! He bounds right on to my chest (yes, when I am trying to read), and starts purring and making muffins. He is just adorable.
I was just going to foster him (yeah, right), but he used to wait for me right outside the bathroom, and when I would come out, he would sit back on his haunches and lift his little front arms to be picked up, just like a human baby. I fell HARD for him, and I am still pretty infatuated.
Maybe our cats are related (click on my name to see Bosley). . .he will also bite at me while still purring and being so sweet. He actually waits for me on the bathmat and sits up on his back end like a bear all of the time. Is yours a talker, too?
Your baby is so cute. Love the pic of him lying on his back. Reminds me of my kitty BOOBOO a organ and white van kitty I had when I was 9 years old. He and his brother Yogi were like night and day. BooBoo was nice and round and huge in size and yogi was small and skinny. Funny thing was BooBoo was the runt of the litter. No wait I always pick the runt of a litter when I get a new furry family memeber and they always turn out to be the biggest one in adulthood.
Anways BooBoo used to climb in bed with me and sleep on his back like that too. He was a bed hog but just too cute and I didn’t mind the furry bed warmer.
I absolutely love the book Siddhartha–used it as part of my English class last year. The kids loved it!
What’s the book about? Never heard of it.
Siddhartha is by Herman Hesse, it’s about a man who goes thru his life journey and ends up as Buddha. Ya know how kitties sorta like to sit with their front paws curved in with their eyes closed and smiles on their fuzzfaces? Look like little Buddhas 🙂
Oh thanks. I will look up the book at the library and give it a turn. Yes I know what you mean about the cuties looking like Buddhas.
By orange boy is the most affectionate cat I’ve ever had. I swear he has dependency issues!
What beautiful babies. Aren’t you glad you took them both?
Oops, I mean My orange boy.
Tiger is a love bug. He needs to be petted all the time. Both hands. And he drools when petted. A little gross but cute.
I once posted here asking the question about cats drooling when petted. It means they are very happy.
Am glad to hear this means happiness not senility. I have a grey girl who is jealous of the rest of my crew – she drools and tenderly bites my fingers. Of course, I tell her she is the “best girl” and the most beautiful. Those orange boys sound wonderful !!
Good to know it means he’s happy, because he drools like it’s his job.
When I was in high school my family adopted a tuxedo, and he was a drooler.
Hermes is a drooler! So was his dad. Hermes drools when he’s very happy and climbing up on mommy in bed, so he can get his nighttime love and petting session. I’ll be petting him and he can get like a leaky faucet sometimes.. drip….drip…..drip…..
My Bosley sleeps with his mouth open, snores, and drools. Also, when he’s sleepy and I start petting his face area, his tongue starts to stick out between his teeth. 🙂
That image really paints a picture! Sounds very cute.
They look like my sweetie Gromit! He’s the loviest boy ever! And the most demanding little attention slut around!
Gromit is such a cool name! I love Wallis and Gromit
Sorry to line-butt, but whoevers here, there’s been a very disturbing development in the food recall. Chicken soup for the cat lovers soul food, kirkland premium canned, and several other brands thought to be safe. As for Kirkland, I used it. It did NOT have any grain additive listed. Just whole grain flour. Rice FLour, for My Nate, who has been eating it for the past two weeks. He seems okay, and couldn’t understand why he got people food tonight. Tomorrow I join the ranks of the pet food preparers.
Go to the itchmo site and read up on this.
Your nieces were right on target! Love the names.
I finally figured out Titus’s leg positions! Both in the air, doesn’t look too comfy to me, but he seems to be doing ok in his nap!
My Quazo sleeps like that all the time. I don’t think cats understand the meaning of ‘uncomfortable’
Except if you pet them the wrong way! 😆
Shaddo lays on the counter with his head completely hanging off the side! It makes us crazy, and he can’t understand why mommy or daddy move him so his head is in line with the rest of him!
Seems like all that blood rushing to his head would be uncomfortable, wouldn’t it? 🙂
Yeah, you would think. Then again, we’re just humans, what do we know?! Maybe he gets a cool head rush when he gets up..
As in Fort Worth, Texas? That’s my favorite town!
YeeeeHawwww!!!! I’m actually in N. Richland Hills (suburb of Ft. Worth). Had to keep the alliteration in the name. . .
Cats can get comfortable in the most unusual positions! I just can’t understand how, but they do.
Oh, btw, that’s SA as in San Antonio, TX! My kind of town especially now with Fiesta going on!
OMG!!! They are so sweet!!!
A sweet photo of extra sweet ginger cats. So glad you opened your heart. That mama cat certainly picked the best drop off spot for her two boys.
Orange tabbies are the best! They’re super-cute!
Oh, they are so sweet! My boys don’t sleep together anymore and I do miss that sight. Took lots of pics of them when they did though – back in the day when Jiggs, the Maine Coon, was a baby and smaller than his big brother Shaddo, part Siamese.
My boys only sleep together when it’s cold and daddy doesn’t turn the heat up.
I love the Roman names! Do they meow in Latin? They look like my son’s Tiger.
Meowus!
Meowus Indifferentus
Meowus Whinus
Meowus hungrius incredibus
You forgot Meowus Presentus (just to let you know I’m here)
And I forgot to tell you what a clever girl you are!
Is there anything sweeter than cats curled up in a bunch asleep? i have four indoor kitties and they were all in one big heap on the bed the other morning.
I don’t know, but I doubt it – lol. Mine sleep like that too, which I find amusing after they’ve chased each other all over tarnation.
I love orange kitties. These 2 are absolutely beautiful.
Into the backpack with Titus and Cassius
***Stop’s HM before she gets too far*** These boys need to be seen and held by Catrancher, if she’s up to it.
Nevermind. Titus is in Spain, leaving just Cassius.
*giggle*
You saw me Tiger….
HM hasn’t noticed that I got there first….
Oh, I love ginger kitties.( Actually, ALL kitties! )
Your babies are beautiful, snuggled up together. They look so happy and content.
Indeed, you are blessed…
Beautiful cats, awesome picture.
Absolutely precious!!
*tiptoes in and grabs Titus*
*kisses Cassius on the nose and leaves him for the others*
*giggles knowing that noone will go to Spain for the kidnapped Kitty*
Pipa’s mum—in which city in Spain do you live? My mother was raised in Zamora.
Hi Dee! I’m from Madrid…
But I know Zamora pretty well…
🙂
Thanks! My mom will be excited to hear this!
Oodles of ginger cuteness. I just love it when cats sleep all snuggled together. What adorable little guys.
Good morning everyone!!
Yes, these boys are just absolutely gorgeous and handsome. Bless you for taking them both!!! How wonderful!! Two sweeties snuggled together….Awwwww….
**Precautionary Rice Protein Recall: Drs. Foster & Smith Adult Dry Lite Dog and Adult Dry Lite Cat Food**
Rice protein concentrate has been indicated as a possible source of melamine recently found in pet food products. As a precautionary measure Wilbur-Ellis company, the supplier of rice protein concentrate, is voluntarily recalling all lots of rice protein concentrate. We received notification from the manufacturer today, April 25, 2007, suggesting we issue a precautionary recall.

If your pet has consumed either the Adult Lite Dry Dog food or the Adult Lite Dry Cat food and shows signs of illness (such as loss of appetite, lethargy and vomiting), you should consult with your veterinarian immediately.

What next???
Thanks Dee, there seems to be end to this 🙁
I guess we just have to avoid grains until they find something wrong with the meat!
Lovely kitties, very sweet picture.
Orangies are the best! I am proudly owned by one -Alfie. I have adored every kitty in my life but until you are owned by an orangie…….well, hope you all experience it 🙂
drs foster and smith still have safe regular food for cats and dogs
without the wheat or corn glutens see their web site for proof.
They are just way too cute of little sweeties!!!
Awwwww…. love ginger boys…. Am owned by one…
Hey Instinct!!
Got a question for ya, (or anyone else who would know.)
My daughter asked me about a movie we saw many years ago, but I don’t know the name. I told her about your interests and decided to ask. First, do you watch Stargate SGI?
Do you remember the movie with the two human robots, she thinks Michael J. Fox was in this movie? He asked the female robot what her name is, and she says Roberta, then he asked what her last name is, she said Roberta Roberta. Do you remember this movie at all? She would like to know the name.
Thanks…..
Seen SG1 a few times, not too bad of a show. Thought the original movie was total cheese 🙂 but in a fun, goofy, we will totally ignore history kind of way.
The movie doesn’t ring any bells, sorry Try searching imdb.com they ususally have a full listing of everything an actor has been in (or been part of)
Hi Bumblebee,
How are you and Perry? Hope you are doing well. Can you tell me anything else about the movie you asked Instinct about?
Me & my hubby watch Stargate SG1 and have seen several of Michael J. Fox’s movies, but it doesn’t quite ring a bell for me at the moment. I’ll ask my hubby, he remembers some movies better than me.
Hey Renee in Arkansas,
Thank you for helping to think of the movie for us! 🙂 I appreciate you asking your hubby too! Thanks!!
Perry seems to be doing okay. He is acting more himself each day and is still on antibiotics for a few more days. The Hill’s c/d from the vet is sure junk with lots of preservatives and I worry. Hopefully I can find something else to get for him. He should be eating wet food, but I am too scared….. Bugger won’t eat much homemade food. Only some chicken I made for them. I looked at the California Natural website with Innova and Evo, ect. Might try some of that. I have been spending all my free time reading and reading and reading…. anything on the recalls and comments on Itchmo site. Very interesting, but so time consuming. My eyes are so sore…
I just adore this site with all the wonderful people on it! I really missed Ivory Bill too. Hope he knows how much we like him and enjoy his poems!!
You’re a sweetie to ask!! 🙂
I think it’s an old Woody Allen Movie, but I can’t remember the name.
Sleeper, about the future. One country changed the name to ‘Woody and the robots’. Thanks Instinct for the great link! 🙂
Hello again Mom to Tiga,
I didn’t realize both comments were from you….
My daughter did look at that site and both movie names you provided and thinks that might not be the one…..
Thanks a lot anyway!!
Hi Mom to Tiga and the gang,
Thanks for trying to think of the movie for us! I think she wants the movie, that is why she would like to thave the name.
My Pet Counts Postcard Blitz
Oh i love orange babies, and they are always best in a set. I grew up with a boy and girl orangies. And now toby has found me. He is completely ornage, his eyes are amber, nose cinnamon and ginger paw pads. so cute. and those little feet in the air are so cute. Toby never did grow into his feet, lol
I love when they put one paw over their eyes when they sleep, too cute!!
They are just so darling!!!!!!!!!!
And sweeties they are! Love those names, also. I’ve always kind of wanted to get two boy kitties and name them Titus and Andronicus. hehe. Hooray for cuddly kitties!
**Tips on Getting Sick Cats to Eat**
By: Petplace Staff
If your cat is acting sick and not wanting to eat, the safest thing is to take your cat to your veterinarian and allow them to evaluate your pet for an underlying cause. It is important not to overlook this important symptom of a problem.
There are cats with diagnosed problems that just don’t feel well and want to eat. For these pets, there are several things you can try.
If your cat does not have interest in his everyday food, you can try offering something special. Sick pets may reach the point where some form of nutrition (within reason) is better than no nutrition.
Often offering a cat a small amount of a new food will stimulate their appetite and encourage them to eat. Consider your pet’s illness before selecting the foods. For example, if your pet has been nauseous, offer bland foods. Avoid rich or fatty food and table scraps if possible. For diet recommendations for your cats particular problem, check with your veterinarian.
To encourage your cat to eat, begin by offering healthier choices, such as a quality, canned or semi-moist pet food, boiled chicken, tuna, etc. Meat-flavored baby food is a tasty, bland food that is good to entice a pet’s appetite. Do NOT feed only baby food as a primary nutrient source, as it does not contain enough calories to sustain your pet. Make sure you avoid foods containing onion in cats because onions can be toxic.
If healthier food choices are not working, you can try some pet “junk” food. Lower-quality canned food (which is usually more palatable), sandwich meat, etc. are some possible choices.
I totally agree about getting your cat to the vet if they aren’t eating. My Bounce wasn’t eating and it turned out he was hyperthyroid. He’s on meds now and doing great, just turned 15!
Hi Mary! Has your Bounce gained a lot of weight now that he is on thyroid meds? I ask because my 9yr old rumpy manx is on meds for the same thing and she has become a round ball of fur! My vet says its okay but it would be nice to know if someone else is seeing the same thing happen. Thanks!
Hi Owned by cats. 2 years ago, my tabby, Lucky, had started to lose weight rapidly. He always had weighed 15-17 lbs. He bottomed out at around 12 lbs. I had my vet check him out and he was hyper thyroid. So she put him on meds. He began eating again and now can’t seem to stop packing on the lbs. I try to cut him back, but he is hungry. He weighs 20 lbs now. It is one of the side effects of the meds. But compared to being without them, this is just what I have to live with. It’s sad sometimes because he has trouble jumping up on the bed and some high things. Still can run like the wind though! Wishing your baby much good health.
These ginger babies are adorable!
Hi Lynn,
I think Bounce hasn’t gained too much weight because of his age – he’s 15 now and was diagnosed when he was 11.
Have you thought of buying those steps that they advertize for dogs that cannot jump up on the bed? They have them in Carol Wright catalog and a few others.
Thanks Susan, I was thinking of looking into them. I’m sure it would be a help to him.
Hi Owned by cats, Bounce lost a lot of weight in a short period of time, got down to 10 pounds. He’s only put on three more pounds, so he’s 13 lbs which is still skinnier than before he got sick. The vet doesn’t seem to be too concerned unless he looses weight. The way he eats he should weight about 50 pounds. His nick-name is Food Boy because he will eat everyone’s food.
Hi Mary, my Lucky was diagnosed at 10 yrs and will be 12 in July. His nickname is Fat boy for the same reason!! Glad Bounce is doing well. Being 15 is a good age to be. Much continued good health to him, and all the good eats he can get!
Thank you Mary & Lynn. I feel better about Amber’s weight gain. We adopted her from the humane society 3 years ago. She picked my hubby out in no time. She’s such a lover I would hate to think the weight gain would shorten her life. Much Love & Hugs to your fuzzbears!

I love that visual…..

Scour Your Coffee Grinder with Rice
Original Purpose: Making a bed for your stir-fry.
Aha! Use: Scouring your coffee grinder. Mill a handful of grains and the fine particles will absorb stale odors and clean out residual grounds and oil. Discard rice and wipe clean.
Reward: A cleaner cup of coffee (and another take on rice and beans).
When I worked at McDonald’s ages ago, we used to take a still-warm glass coffee urn that had burnt coffee on the bottom, liberally sprinkle baking soda in the urn, add ice cubes, swirl and rinse. Voila! No more burnt coffee.
In the resturant business we always used ice, salt and lemon juice. Cold or warm it worked wonders.
You guys would be shocked at what a little baking soda and vinegar will clean! My daughter uses nothing else…even on the stove for cooked on “stuff” it is great!
Thanks I’ll try it!
I heard that it works better than draino in a slow tub. Gonna try it.
I love soda crystals as a cleaning agent – with or without the vinegar! Soda crystals (it’s like a coarser grade of baking soda, and cheaper!) by themselves are great for tea stains, and I often use vinegar for limescale
awwwwwww………….they look like my sweet lil babies!!!!!
Just because I want to – I present:
My five favorite movies about guys-
Casablanca
High Fidelity
The Shootist
When Harry Met Sally
Stand by Me
The Shootist is a great movie…… But then, I like the Duke…
That just shows you have good taste 😀
I like Westerns in general…. I like knowing exactly who the good guys and bad guys are….. Most SF/Fantasies too… for the same reason….
Top 5 Westerns
1 The Shootist
2 Rooster Cogburn and the Lady
3 Silverado
4 The Magnificent Seven (which was taken from The Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa – but still good)
5 Shane
Oh yeah… Silverado is one of my all time favorite movies….. For a much lighter touch.. Have you seen the Rounders, with Glen Ford and Henry Fonda? Very funny….
The Rounders is a great movie, and so very true too.
I love John Wayne’s movie McClintock.
What about: “Stagecoach”? “My Darling Clementine”? “The Man Who Shot LIberty Valance”? CLASSIC Westerns!!
They were considered, and while Stagecoach is a true claissic in it use of lighting, space and character development, I decided that the Shootist deserved top billing.
And since I already had 2 John Wayne movies on the list I thought it would be unfair to add a third, but I guess I could replace Rooster with Stagecoach. Both have been imulated so much that it is a toss up
Instinct: Be careful what you ask for–you might get it!
My Five Fave “Guy Flicks”
1. Patton (“War is NOT about dying for your country. It’s about making the other poor, dumb b*****d die for HIS country!”)
2. Casablanca (“Major Strasser has been shot! Round up the usual suspects”)
3. The Quiet Man (“Is that a public house? Does that mean the fight is over? “)
4. 48 Hrs. (“We ain’t brothers, we ain’t partners, and we aint friends. If Ganz gets away with my money, you’ll be sorry you ever met me. ”
5. True Grit (“Mr. Rat. I have a writ here that says you’re to stop eating Chen Lee’s cornmeal forthwith. Now it’s a rat writ, writ for a rat and this is lawful service of same.”
I agree with all of them except 48 hours. That one never made any of my lists – don’t know why, just never liked it.
I would replace it with Raiders of the Lost Ark “You want to talk to God? Let’s go see him together, I’ve got nothing better to do.”
Top Samurai/Asian Movies
1. Throne of Blood (Kurosawa)
2. Seven Samurai (Kurosawa)
3. Zatoici the Blind Swordsman (the whole series of movies)
4. Rashamon (Kurosawa)
5. Hidden Fortress (George Lucas based star wars in part on this movie) Akiro Kurasawa rocks
Hard list to argue with. I would have probably had to do a coin toss to add Yojimbo to the list somewhere 🙂
Add my favorite Jerimiah Johnson with Robert Redford.
All my cats snuggled on my bed at night leaving little room for me.
To add more to this My exwifes idea of romantic was telling while wearing sexy things it would be a good night . My idea of romance was setting up A 12′ tent in the living room facing the fireplace with a roaring fire air mattress in the tent covered with soft blankets a bottle of wine. All kinds of fruit & somevery sexy music on in the background. Or taking her out for an evening on the town that started with a fantastic concert at Chastain Park (outdoor theater) Then a nice long ride home To find candles & wine waiting with our 2 person jacuzzi tub filled with sweet smelling salts.
But hey I guess that was my idea of romantic. Needless to say we are divorced. Must not been her idea of a romantic even.
Wow Chester… I’d give you an A+ on that !!
Well, he did forget the chocolate…just kidding, good job Chester, keep up the good work and a wonderful deserving woman will share it one day.
JCL
The Quiet Man, starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, is by far my favorite film. It has it all — action, romance, comedy and beautiful exteriors. In fact, my annual Saint Patrick’s Day celebration includes watching the DVD of this film. Weird? Probably. Then again — that’s just me!
“Y’all take care, and don’t FUR-get to clean your paws before — and after dinner. That includes both Titus and Cassius!” — The CatWrangler from Louisiana
One of my very favorites too. I started watching with my father on St. Patrick’s Day and still do to this day, although my dad has been gone for 30 years. If that’s weird than count me in, and my 30 year old son Brendan too. Tradition is the best.
This confirms my suspicion that guys are WAY more sentimental and romantic than women. “Casablanca” is my boyfriend’s favorite movie, with “High Fidelity” a close second. Boyfriend says that “Casablanca” is the most perfect movie ever made (!).
Loved “The Shootist” even though it made me cry. Can take or leave the others.
Your boyfriend is right. Casablanca was filmed in a week – could you imagine how long it would take Hollyweird to do it today 😉
Casablanca is one of my faves too. But I love every movie with Ingrid Bergman, she is one of my all-time actresses. My absolute favorite is Indiscreet with Ingrid and Cary Grant.
Just LOVE Cary Grant!!
😀
I love westerns and other movies, too. McClintock, Quiet Man, Hatari, just about any John Wayne movie.
I also liked Gary Cooper, Spencer Tracy(Father of the Bride). I liked the movie “Bringing up Baby” with Gary Cooper and Katherine Hepburn. That was funny. I liked Sam Elliot in Shadow Riders and Ghost Rider.
To me true romance is doing omething nice for your loved one Dinner or what ever But the true romance starts when you get home or into a private place ^ the holding, fondling, kissing,The exchange of intimate words between the two lovers Now that is true romance & can be done for free if the two truly love each other.
I have a loving ginger guy, I can’t immagine having two – how do you survive all that attention? 🙂 Trjegul was ALL over me yesterday.
Did anyone watch American Idol last night? I really like the “Idol Gives Back” thing—but did we have to see so much Paula Abdul boobage on such an important, inspirational evening?! I guess she’s trying to get her money’s worth. tee hee
**Maturing Cheese Becomes Internet Star**
A large English cheddar cheese has become a star of the Internet, attracting more than 1 million viewers to sit and stare at it as it slowly ripens.
First placed in front of a webcam in late December, the Westcombe cheddar from West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers leaped to public attention in early February and has since attracted viewers from 119 countries.
“The hits went over 1 million this morning. It has been a real challenge keeping the cheese up and running with all the interest it has generated,” a spokesman for the company running the website, http://www.cheddarvision.tv, said Wednesday.
Watchers have tuned in from as far afield as Albania and New Zealand, although most are from the United States where a school has even sent in pictures of two crocodiles to guard the cheese.
“The whole idea was to show people how real food is made — and it seems to be working,” cheesemaker Tom Calver said. “It takes a year for the cheese to mature. This is not fast food. It is slow food.”
some people have waaay too much time
yep, it’s still there….. aging
Thanks for the tip–I was beginning to get tired of watching paint dry!
That’s what I’m here for, to pull you out of your humdrum existance and introduce you to all the excitment that the world has to offer
I agree with Leanne. Definitely have too much time on their hands to sit and watch cheese age. Holy cow!
some people just can’t handle life in the slow lane 😀
You’re kidding me, right?
😆 Such cute cuddle bugs!!! i want them. 🙂 🙂 😀 😀
Clean Your Keyboard with Transparent Tape
Original Purpose: Sealing gift wrap.
Aha! Use: Cleaning between computer keys. Slide a 2 1/2-inch strip between the rows of your keyboard. The adhesive side removes dust and crumbs.
Reward: Fewer typppppppos.
Hi Dee, another added benefit of using tape is that the crud doesn’t blow all over the place like when you used canned air.
Soooo, now I can tell my IT guy to chill when I eat crackers at my desk…
Great tip!
Parcel tape folded over so both sides ae sticky is good, too. So are post-it notes!
(and thebest way to use air cleaner to clean your keyboard at work is to wait until a colleague you don’t like is away from their desk, and clean yours there!)
Good morning everyone! Sorry I missed out on yesterday’s kitten, took Mom back to Mayo Clinic. They’ll be running more tests next week…please keep her in your prayers for me…
What cute orange fizz fuzz this morning! I fostered an orangy named George years ago. Mr. Personality he was. He was such a cool cat! He’s got a great home now and loved very much!
Prayers to you and your Mom, LeeAnne.
Dear LeeAnne, prayers are on the way for your mama and all the medical people who will be taking care of her.
Positive energy coming your way.. for you, your family and the entire medical staff…
Hey, LeeAnne –I guess when it rains it pours….. 🙁
Hope ypur mom is okay. Positive thoughts to you!!!
Prayers and hugs to you and your mom. Hope all goes well.
Me and mine will be praying for you and you mom. God Bless and keep you both.
Thank you all so very much. All this positive energy is so very much appreciated. Mom goes for tests next week, then I’m taking her home to Mtl, Canada to visit my Grandma who is 95, for Mother’s Day. Lord knows I’ll need much more positive energy next week…..Thank you again everyone, you are all GREAT!
God speed in your trip to Montreal. Blessing to your mother and grandma on Mothers day. Enjoy your visit and come home safe.
We are all sending positive thoughts to you!
Hopes and prayers to you and your Mom…
Hi LeeAnne, I hope everything goes well with your Mom’s tests and they come out okay. Sending prayers and positive energy to you and your mom.
Good healing energy to mom and positive energy to you and your brood.
Prayers and headbonks from us here. My mom’s 85, and hiding a medical issue from me. Fair, cause I didn’t tell her I badly flunked my mamogram last week…
Mon to Tiga, what do you mean you flunked the mamogram? I hope it is nothing serious. Please have it rechecked soon. I hope your mom is ok also. Prayers to you both. Hugs and headbonks, too. Keep us posted, please.
supposed to be Mom. Tape must be stuck between the keys!!
“mom” please take yourself back to the doctor post haste and have things checked out. You cannot be cured if you don’t get your rear in gear and your boob in the smasher.
Flunked it alright. Need surgical biopsies. Don’t worry, I’m not stupid, and the docs say 85 % chance okay, but definately gonna check it out. Thanks for asking, and caring. I love all you guys. As HM said, 6 months ago, we didn’t know each other, now, we’re a major support system for each other. Wow.
Mom to Tiga, DO NOT HESITATE to have any and all testing done!!! If not for yourself, then for your mom and Tiga and the gang! Prayers…
Get to your doctor ASAP and I mean NOW. Don’t fool around with this and this from a breast cancer survivor. I really mean it, do it N-O-W
I love your name psychomama. You bet I’ll take the tests, and whatever they show, I’ll deal with properly *runs into bedroom, hides under bed* Actually, anyone here who is not getting a mammo, learn from me. I haven’t taken one in 3 1/2 years, and what they might have caught is super early. I’m very lucky I went. Please all of you, keep taking them regularly.
Glad to hear you are getting to it. I just got mine done after four years without. They “saw something” so I had an ultrasound. Fortunately, no biopsy needed. Sure got my attention and I know I will go every year like I’m supposed to. It seems like women, in caring for others, forget to take care of themselves. We are worth it!
Mom to Tiga– I too am a breast cancer survivor. If you need to talk, I’m right here. Went thru it 2 yrs ago, still seeing doctors every three months (mandatory, even tho I’m fine now). We are all here for your support!
i thank you all. Scary, but i kick myself for not going for so long. 2 surgical biopsies then were clear, but the pain, fear and scars caused me to be an ostrich for years. Won’t happen again. Jadete in Tn, thanks so much for your offer of support. I accept, and will let you know here if I need to talk. Right now, I’m in the surgeon finding stage. S
Sending positive thoughts to you and your Mom.

LeeAnne in FL,
There will be prayers going Heavenward from here in Louisiana and throughout the world for your mom — and for you. And I’ll be praying for good results!
All the best LeeAnne!
Dear Leanne.
Many blessings for both of you. Prayers for you, your mom, the nurses and doctors also. That is so wonderful to go visit Grandma for Mother’s Day. So sweet of you!
What adorable little brothers! My orange creamsickle tabby, Charlie, was cuddling on my lap when I stopped by here today. He’s a perfect companion for the hours of work I do at the computer: when I’m reading, he lies in my lap; when I’m typing, he lies on top of the computer — and he never complains. He is also very pliable, and doesn’t seem to care what position he falls asleep in.
As for “when will the pet food nightmare end?” — not any time soon. Below is an Op Ed (Note: NOT a news report) from Monday’s Washington Post about the grim reality that the entire food chain is
affected — especially vitamins. What may not be clear from this piece is that it is ONLY because human food has been affected (one pork plant and one poultry farm in the US are already quarantined) that the FDA has any regulatory role — they don’t oversee pet food, and they never, even in human food cases, have the power to compel a recall. It’s all voluntary, which is why we don’t even now know the names of all the affected companies. Yes, there is definitely something wrong with this picture.
Sorry to be a bit of a downer, but I’d rather know than not know — wouldn’t you?

It’s Not Just Pet Food
By Peter Kovacs
Monday, April 23, 2007; A17
Lost amid the anxiety surrounding the tainted U.S. pet food supply is this sobering reality: It’s not just pet owners who should be worried. The uncontrolled distribution of low-quality imported food ingredients, mainly from China, poses a grave threat to public health worldwide.
Essential ingredients, such as vitamins used in many packaged foods, arrive at U.S. ports from China and, as recent news reports have underscored, are shipped without inspection to food and beverage distributors and manufacturers. Although they are used in relatively small quantities, these ingredients carry enormous risks for American consumers. One pound of tainted wheat gluten could, if undetected, contaminate as much as a thousand pounds of food.

**Ewe’ve been had**
Thousands of rich Japanese women were conned into believing lambs were valuable miniature poodles.
Flocks were imported from the UK and Australia to be sold by an internet company as the latest “must have” pet.
The scam was rumbled when movie star Maiko Kawakami complained on a talk show that her new poodle refused to bark or eat dog food.
She showed photos of the animal and was devastated when told that it was a lamb, reports the Sun.
Hundreds of women contacted police to say that they had also been sold lambs instead of pedigree pups by the con artists based in Sapporo.
One couple found out the truth only after a dog beautician told them she could not trim their poodle’s claws – because they were hooves.
The company, whose name translated as Poodles As Pets, has now been shut down.
Bosses took advantage of the fact sheep are rare in Japan and most people do not know what they look like.
They advertised poodles online for £630 – half the price of the highly-desired puppies in Japan at £1,260.
A police spokesman said: “We launched an investigation after we were made aware that a company were selling sheep as poodles.”
OK… I admit I am not a city girl….. but you’d think that somebody would have noticed that these critters canine… very weird.
That was supposed to be ‘ain’t canine’… the hoofies should have given it away….
What a hoot! (I mean Baaaaaa!)
I guess these puppies barked like lambs!! 😯
How hilarious!
Uhh…can’t tell a dog from a sheep…
Always remember – never underestimate the power of human stupidity
Now that deserves a big “DUUUUUUUUUH”!!!!
OK, how bout this
If you make something idiot proof; they’ll make a better idiot
I agree Instinct, seems we’re surrounded by more and more by idiots everyday!! Still think that story deserves a big DUUUUUUUUUH!
Amen!!
See, P.T. Barnum was right after all!
It is a never ending source of amazement, amusement and dismay….. Like Elvis Costello says,” I used to be disgusted, now I am just amused…”
No way! Dee, where was this article found? The Japanese people are not stupid. Lambs look nothing like dogs.
and lambs have to be carried where you want them to be. They don’t relate the same way to people, and don’t stay where you put them. I was a docent at a living history farm and besides all that, they smell!
It was at Ananova.com–Paul Harvey mentioned it this morning, too.
How old is Paul Harvey? I had no idea he was still alive. I remember my dad listening to him eons ago.
I really like Paul Harvey. If HE said it it’s true. I don’t like People being so dumb 🙁
Just when you think people can’t get any dumber (is that a word?) we have an entire country thinking sheep are dogs…Baaad for them!
When I lived in PA one of my friends called me all upset – her new neighbor asked her if her Chihuahua (a very plump little dog) was a
pig. But in her defense she had always lived in a big city and never
been on a farm.
Remember the Bedlington Terrier?
Arent they sweet! I’m glad they’re together.. two orangies=two times the fun. 🙂
**Man Performs Dental Work in Dirty Garage**
(04-25) 13:26 PDT West Palm Beach, Fla. (AP) —
A man was held Wednesday on charges that he performed dental work on customers without a license in his “filthy” garage, authorities said. Roger Bean, 60, was arrested Tuesday and held on $6,000 bond.
Bean performed denture fittings and made false teeth in his garage, charging just $200 for a full set of dentures, a procedure that typically costs more than $2,000, authorities said. But he was not licensed to practice in Florida.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s detective Don Zumpano said there were “health risks with operating this type of facility outside of your house,” adding that Bean’s workspace was “filthy.”
Neighbors and clients, however, praised Bean for saving them thousands of dollars.
Ron St. Mary, 73, head of the neighborhood crime watch, said Bean is no criminal.
“He’s helping the old people who don’t have a few dollars,” he said. “I think the world of him.”
It was not immediately clear if Bean had an attorney.
**Indian elephants prefer crops to forest fodder: study**
Thu Apr 26, 2007 1:26PM BST
By Bappa Majumdar
KOLKATA, India (Reuters) – A government study in India has shown elephants prefer food crops to forest fodder and often travel hundreds of miles to the same farmland every year, even remembering specific months of harvesting.
Elephants were adapting to new foods as their traditional habitat was shrinking due to villagers encroaching in forests, experts said after a four-year study on Asian elephants in West Bengal state.
“They find food crops more palatable and come back to farmlands to satisfy their taste buds,” Ujjal Bhattacharjee, chief conservator of forests in West Bengal, told Reuters on Thursday.
During the federal government study, which was finished last month, hundreds of wildlife experts and volunteers trapped dozens of elephants and installed radio and satellite collars on them.
Elephants are migratory animals and move from one forest to another through corridors which are now fragmented due to villages and farmlands, conservationists say, making the animals change their habits.
“Villagers were cultivating crops right on their path and were responsible for the changing food habits of elephants,” said Shakti Ranjan Banerjee of the Wildlife Protection Society of India.
Home to 50,000 wild Asian elephants a century ago, just 21,300 elephants are roaming India’s national parks and forests.
Elephants are also shot by hunters for precious ivory and sometimes killed by villagers to protect their fields.
Wildlife officials were hopeful the study could help mitigate the conflict and strengthen the elephant corridor.
“Relocating villages with people’s support and securing the corridor is definitely an option,” Bhattacharjee said.
These babies are a pile of sweet marmalade! I just love the way some kits just sleep in a pile! Just too cute for words.
**Ohio Judge Frees Man After Bible Quiz**
(04-25) 18:09 PDT CINCINNATI, (AP) —
A man arrested on Wednesday for allegedly trying to use a stolen credit card at a drugstore got a break from a judge after passing a sort of Bible quiz.
When Eric Hine appeared in court this morning, his attorney described him as a church-goer, hoping the judge would set a low bond.
Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge John Burlew was skeptical and asked Hine to recite the 23rd Psalm.
He did: all six verses. Some in the courtroom applauded.
Burlew was satisfied and released Hine on a $10,0000 appearance bond, meaning he’ll have to pay that amount if he doesn’t show up for his next court date.
How absurd. 😮
The judge is abusing justice, and the crook is premature.
1. I guess chuchgoing people can’t be crooks??!
2. Everyone knows crooks get ‘religion’ after they’re locked up, not before!
I always found that fasinating too. Amazing how many people have “found” religion while doing prison time, and how they’ve become a “changed” person! Yeah right! Should of thought about all that BEFORE committing the crime!!
haha! No one ever finds Jesus on prom night, eh?
Good one Dee!! har har har
except if the condom breaks…
My dad had a small business when I was growing up and he always told me NEVER trust a person who says they are religious or is a church goer, they’ll try to rip you off every time.
Or stab you in the back.
**China bans melamine in food**
Rejects it as cause of U.S. pet deaths
Alexa Olesen, Associated Press
Published: Thursday, April 26, 2007
BEIJING — China said Thursday it has banned melamine from food products after the chemical was found in exports of vegetable protein shipped to the United States, but rejected it as the cause of dozens of pet deaths in North America.
U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials say they suspect the substance, which is a chemical found in plastics and pesticides, is to blame.
China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement there was no evidence to support the FDA’s claim but that it would co-operate with the United States to find out what actually killed the animals.
The comments in a statement released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry were the first detailed response from Beijing to concerns that emerged a month ago about the country’s wheat and rice gluten exports.
China has said it was investigating the issue but had not acknowledged until Thursday that Chinese companies had shipped gluten tainted with melamine to the United States.
The ministry said the contaminated vegetable protein managed to get past customs without inspection because it had not been declared for use in pet food.
“At present, there is no clear evidence showing that melamine is the direct cause of the poisoning or death of the pets,” the statement said. “China is willing to strengthen co-operation with the U.S. side … to find out the real cause leading to the pet deaths in order to protect the health of the pets of the two countries.”
U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials have said they suspect Chinese wheat and rice gluten laced with melamine and added to pet food may have killed at least 15 cats and dogs. The chemical appears to have caused acute kidney failure in animals that have died or been sickened after eating foods contaminated with the chemical.
China said an investigation triggered by FDA complaints found melamine in wheat and rice gluten exported to the United States by two Chinese companies: Xuzhou Anying Bio-technology Development Company and Binzhou Futian Bio-technology Company.
The case has prompted China to step up inspections of plant-based proteins and to list melamine as a banned substance for food exports and domestic sales, it said.
China also invited FDA officials to visit China to help with further investigations into the case and to consult on improving inspection techniques, it said.
Last month, Toronto-area Menu Foods Income Fund recalled 60 million cans and pouches of its “cuts and gravy” style food, sold under 95 different brand names, after it received reports of kidney failure and even death among dogs and cats.
The Canadian division of French pet food company Royal Canin last week recalled five of its veterinary diet products. It also cut its ties with Chinese suppliers of vegetable proteins after finding out the rice gluten was contaminated with melamine.
**Hugh Grant arrested for assault**
The Associated Press
Published: Thursday, April 26, 2007
Hugh Grant has been arrested for allegedly throwing a container of baked beans at a photographer, London police said.
The Metropolitan Police don’t identify suspects who haven’t been charged, but said a 46-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of assault and released on bail. No charges have been filed, police said.
Grant’s lawyers weren’t immediately available for comment.
Photographer Ian Whittaker told the Daily Star tabloid that Grant had kicked him and shouted abuse before hurling the beans at him Tuesday morning.
The newspaper ran photos Wednesday showing the actor holding a plastic tub over his head.
Grant’s screen credits include Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and About a Boy.
Awww, I love Hugh Grant!

**Boy learns parrot fashion**
An autistic boy who could not speak has learned his first words with the help of his family’s pet parrot.
Dylan Hargreaves, four, has severe learning difficulties and had never uttered a single word.
But after listening to macaw Barney, he can now say “Night, night”, “Dad”, “Mum”, “Ta”, “Hello” and “Bye”, reports The Sun.
And experts think he is close to his first two-syllable word.
Mum Michelle, 33, said: “Barney has changed our lives. Before he arrived, Dylan would try to speak, but the sound came out as a noise.
“Then we got Barney and, a few months later, Dylan began to talk. It was only the odd word, but I could clearly understand what he said.
“Every time I gave the bird something to say, Dylan started trying to say the same thing. I think it’s because the bird says things slower than me, which helps Dylan understand.
“Now when I put him to bed he says, ‘Night, night, mum’. It means the world to me.”
Michelle, of Blackburn, was given three-year-old Barney by partner Rob Hargreaves, 33, last January.
Michelle reckons her son’s first two-syllable word will be Barney, because he loves his pet so much.
Speech therapist Dr Hazel Roddham of the University of Lancashire confirmed: “If there’s some enjoyment, a child is more likely to learn. And presumably this parrot has attracted the boy’s attention.”

Fast-food junkies more harshly judged, study finds
James Cowan, National Post
Published: Wednesday, April 25, 2007
Eating fast food makes you fat, damages your arteries and could even kill you. And it also makes you look ugly, shifty and stupid, according to a new study.
A paper published in the May issue of Appetite, a scientific journal, concludes that unhealthy eaters are viewed as “less physically attractive, less warm, less intelligent and less studious” than their carrotmunching peers. On the upside, fast-food lovers are perceived as easygoing and more sociable.
Peter Herman, a University of Toronto psychology professor who co-authored the paper, said a review of research revealed numerous stereotypes based on what people eat and in what quantities. “People who eat fast food are seen as less concerned with their health, maybe even stupider,” Mr. Herman said. “We also understand these stereotypes exist, but it’s worth pointing out they’re just stereotypes. There’s nothing in the data that justifies making those leaps about what a person’s really like.”
Hi everyone! Did anyone miss me? I’m late today!
Hi Georgie’s mama.
Looking at these two cute orange boys Titus and Cassius makes me sleepy. They must be feeling really comfy using each other as pillows.
We just read about the lambs, can’t stop laughing. I love little lambs. but not to sleep with one and thats where my kitties sleep. well whats the bed for?
My gosh, what kind of a problem is this going to present for the Olympics!
**Dozens sick after meal at Chinese school**
Thu Apr 26, 12:49 AM ET
BEIJING – More than 50 children were poisoned by a kindergarten breakfast in central China, state media said Thursday, in the latest case highlighting problems in the country’s food supply chain.
Xinhua News Agency said the children were hospitalized after eating breakfast Wednesday at a private kindergarten in Zhengzhou city in Henan province. Thirty had been released and the others remained under observation.
Doctors believe soybean milk given to the children was not boiled properly, Xinhua said.
Mass poisonings are common in China, which has been struggling to improve a dismal food safety record. Manufacturers often mislabel food products or add illegal substances to them. Cooks routinely disregard hygiene rules.
Last week there were three cases in various parts of the country involving about 280 people.
In the latest incident, the person in charge of the private kindergarten and three cooks who prepared the breakfast have been detained by police, Xinhua said.
Has anyone made a Dr. Pepper cake? Here is the recipe along with some great reviews—sounds interesting…may have to try it…
http://www.recipezaar.com/87410
That does sound interesting Dee….I might have to try it too. I do have a recipe at home for a Coca Cola cake, which sounds quite good too! I’ll just have to make both I guess….
I have a great recipe for orange sherbet that uses Orange crush as one of the main ingredients. I always found it hard to make ice cream (does not stop kids from eating it though!) I’ll put it into the TDK cookbook.
Anyone else have easy ice cream recipes?
My emma was cat of the day yesterday but it was too late by the time I realized it to post.

scroll down to yesterday to see my cuddle bug.
Wow ppearson, she is just lovely as could be. I enjoyed reading her story as well. 🙂
Your Emma is beautiful ppearson!
Emma is gorgeous! What a sweet face!
Emma is beautiful! Is she extra cocky since she became the cat of the day? haha
When I told her she promptly went and barfed on the rug! Don’t know if that is being cocky, nervous or just being Emma. Because of nearly starving to death on the street she has food issues. She will gobble up everyones treats if she can and then promptly barf them up someplace inconvenient! Bulimic kitty.
What a sweet girl, even if she’s a walking pukebomb. 🙂 My hubby christened one of ours that a couple of months ago and it’s so true.
Sweet Emma, very lovely, ppearson! Many happy years together to you both.
Emma is beautiful! Does she have an attitude? My Shaddo is part Siamese and has this no-fear thing. I don’t know if it’s a Siamese thing or if it’s a Shaddo thing.
Absolutely gorgeous Dahhhhhling!
What a beautiful girl. Simply gorgeous.
Your Emma is beautiful. It sounds like she’s been through quite a lot and you are an angel for giving her a forever home.
You must be very proud of her! Emma is extremely beautiful.
What a sweetheart! And I loved Beeblebrox right below your baby. What a great cat name!
Emma is just beautiful! She has such a sad start to life. You truely are an angel to give her a loving home. Say Hi Theirry (sp?) for us. Please give them an extra smooch from us too.
Gorgeous kitty your Emma, ppearson!
Wow, besides having great taste in SiFi novels (Pratchet), your cat is gorgeous!

10-q. Its good to be back; work, vacation, and a sick puddy tat have been occapyuing my time. I have learned something extremely important about feline health, which I will present tomorrow so more can see. I am pleased to say (if anyone cares) that my 16 year old Joshie-Poo is acting like an eight year old! What a boy!!!
More to follow…..
Hello Ivory Bill!!!
I have missed you!
Sorry your Joshie has been sick. But, glad he is acting so young now! I cannot wait to read about it tomorrow. Have a great night!! 🙂

Okay guys, I am on the knife-edge of indecision. The Los Angeles Times did an article today, on the issue of kitten season and the overwhelming crush suffered by animal shelters when all the kittens are brought in.
I desparately want to help this situation by fostering kittens. My apprehension: how to keep some reserve so that I won’t keep all of them? I really want to help out these poor little babies, but my one and only experience with fostering was pretty wrenching. I did want to keep all of the babies and was heartbroken when I had to give them away.
I need some encouragement, especially from those of you who have done or are doing fostering now. Does it get better the more often you do it? Will I be able to let them go when I need to?
I will wait for some responses before I call the volunteer hotline-
Kate,
I have been fostering for about 3 years now. It is hard to give them up but I always tell myself that they are getting a fur-ever home with a family that will love them and with all the cats in my home, permanent and foster, I think they would get more of the attention that they deserve. And yes I usually cry when I am handing them over but then I get home and there are plenty of reasons to cheer up, not to mention there is always another foster waiting.
Hi Kate the Grate –
I have never fostered so I have absolutely no experience/advice – my bungalow is just too small. Even if that wasn’t a factor, I still don’t know if I could do it. I have the utmost respect for those who do. Just went to the shelter yesterday and wanted to come home with every feline there! My hubby was incredulous of my reserve! The reason I haven’t come home with any additions is that my geezers are in their routing and I don’t want to screw up their autumn years. I figure there will always be kittens and we are considering adopting a couple of adults for the next generation. If you decide to foster, let us know and I will encourage you daily…
Kate, I have never fostered but would if I still had the room. I think if you get to meet the people that are adopting, and see how they love the new baby, it might make the handing over easier. I’m sure you will cry and feel sad for sometime, but just remember that without you doing this those kittens probably would have been euthanized or lived in a shelter cage. It is so good that you are considering giving of yourself to afford these babies a chance at a good life.
Good for you Kate! I’ve never fostered kittens and can only imagine how hard it would be to give them up. I have fostered older cats, and it was very hard to give them up since I got so attached to them right away, but I do know they are in good, safe homes now and are all happy fuzzbutts. If you decide to do it, we’ll help you along the way, count me in!! Good luck to ya and just think all the little lives you’ll be saving….awwwwwww!
My Hubs and I have given our names to our vet, and my ‘people for animals’ group, to foster a pregnant cat this season, through adoptions of mother and kittens. We have a full house, but would love to have kittens to socialize, and can keep them away from the other animals (for their safety and to keep the mother’s stress down). Please do think about it. If you don’t have a place to isolate them, it would be a lot harder to keep the mama stress free.
I’ve never fostered before because my cats are so bothered by other animals (one has a heart condition anyway), but I think it’s such a great thing. When my cats pass on, I’ll probably become a foster. I think you’ll be able to realize that fostering the kittens is a great idea, even if you have to give them up, because the alternative is spending their early months cooped up in a cage. If you can free even a few kitties from that fate, I’m sure you’ll see that it’s worth the tears. Good luck, and good for you! Hopefully you’ll inspire others to do the same.
I have never fostered, nor do I ever dare. All I know is that my sister has fostered two babies and kept them both. And this is a woman whose discipline and self-control I deeply respect.
Hello, Ivory Bill! Long time no post. I, for one, have missed you. The main reason that I posted this message today was precisely the thing you speak of: Will I end up unable to give the kittens up? If so, my current clowder will be very unhappy, and I might get evicted.
On the other hand, it just breaks my heart when I think of these babies, and my anonymous financial gifts only get me so far, emotionally. I think I may take the plunge, and see what happens. I may just have to gird my loins and put my money where my mouth is (enough cliches for one posting?).
Your babies are so adorable! I had to take a double take because they remind me of my twins. Mine are a boy and a girl, but they love each other too. One is wild and the other snuggly. I am sure you love their different personalities too.
Titus and Cassius are soooooo beautiful! And that’s a classic shot of cuddling companion kitties–sleeping angels. Bless you for keeping both of them and loving them so much! May they always be happy in your home and a source of joy and pride.
What sweet lil’ boys! I have two orangies and they are just orangalicious! Only ones in my home who do the head bonking thing.
I’m owned by 2 sweet ginger toms, they are the smoochiest animals I’ve ever had. I also like Mark Twain:
It has been discovered that the reason your cat declines milk and meat and lets on to live by miraculous intervention is, that he catches mice privately.
– quoted in My Father, Mark Twain by Clara Clemens
They are the most content looking sleeping beauties I have ever seen. My orange boy, Milo, was 16 .lbs of love. He was my little man and I miss him dearly. Now have Stinky and Sally to boss me around. But there is only one Milo.
Yes, they are each individuals and can never be replaced. I have been owned by 13 cats and each had its own quirks, tricks and personalities.
These two are adorable and you are so sweet to keep them together. Many happy years with them!
Sleepius Maximus. . . 🙂
Good one!!!!
😆
Felis Narcolepsis?
🙂 good one Ginny
Hey, I took Latin. . . (for about 5 mths.!)
**High School Senior Picks Up Prom Date In Tractor**
POSTED: 10:21 am PDT April 26, 2007
NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. — Forget taking a limousine to the prom. One high school senior drove his date in a 1992 green John Deere 8760 tractor.
“A few people made bets with me that I wouldn’t do it,” said Levi Rue, a senior at New Rockford-Sheyenne High School. “I guess I won them.”
Rue suggested the idea to his date, Alissa Bachmeier, last Thursday, two days before the prom. She wasn’t sure, worried about her dress getting dirty.
But after Rue showed her pictures of the tractor and promised to make sure it was immaculate, Bachmeier agreed. “I cleaned it up pretty good,” he said.
Bachmeier wore a lime green prom dress that nearly matched the tractor.
Rue said they drove around town and to his grandmother’s house to show her the unusual chariot.
“We got quite a few people who stopped and looked and stared and waved,” he said.
Reminds me of the old joke:
How do you know the funeral is for an Aggie?
The lead tractor has its lights on!
I love it!!! Someone with a sense of humor and who doesn’t follow the crowd…. very cool!
This video cracked me up! (He reminds me of the obligatory drunk uncle at almost every wedding! haha!)
**Bush Dances in Rose Garden Ceremony**

Yup, I saw it last night. Very funny!
Ain’t go no rhythm!!!
How embarrassing
Actually, W. did a pretty fair job keeping the beat on the drums. It was Laura who looked absolutely wooden.
Laura doesn’t know how to get down with her bad self 😀
Instinct, you crack me up! 😀
No lonilness with them around now. My grey tabby turns her head like that sometimes.
Titus and Cassius are a magnificent duo, such beautiful brothers all relaxed and content. I love cuddling kitties and these two look very adorable together.
I’ve never lived with a marmie – I feel deprived.
I can’t believe we’ve gone all day without commenting on Rosie leaving the view. I’ll say what Barbara Walters couldn’t (but was written all over her face): GOOD RIDDANCE!
I second that!
I’ll third!! She’s not worth talking about anyway.
Naw, but it sure was fun watching Bill O’Reilly and BOTH Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes gloat about it.
“Time wounds all heels!”
Lets stay away from this. Not everyone agrees Rosie, and not everyone agrees with Bill o’reilly an Hannity & Colmes! Political ideology does not belong on TDK.
I think it can belong, as long as everyone keeps it civil and doesn’t resort to demonizing and using emotions instead of facts.
But that’s just me 🙂
That’s disappointing. These subjects tend to get heated and before you know it judgements, emotions, and politics kick in.
But that’s just me. 🙂
I don’t give a rat’s backside what Rosie or Donald or Paris or any ‘celebrities’ are doing or not doing….. but that’s just me.
High five!
High five all around!
I am with Caddycat on this. The beauty of this place is that we don’t have to think about politics or Imus or O’Reilly or Sharpton or any of those (as Bugs Bunny said) Maroons. We can just enjoy the cats, conversation, and recipes. As soon as someone mentions an appreciation for a Fox News talking head, someone who is righteously offended by that person (the same goes for Randi Rhodes, etc.). The offended person is placed in the un-comfy position of either starting the kind of discussion that belongs on a flamey political blog, or feeling bad because they did not stick up for their views.
Regardless of Fox News or anyone else, I think that Lazy O’Dummel and Dumbold Shlump are heads and tails of the same coin.
Thank you, Ivory Bill. No one could have said it better. We spent a pretty chunk of change to get XM radio for our daily Randi fix but think we’ll scream if we hear Anna Nicole mentioned one more time. Best to leave the celebs to the tabloids.
I adore everyone here and respect that each has a personality, brain, sense of humor and heart. Now that you’ve all been described as characters from Oz I’ll shut up! 🙂
Somewhat hypocritically, ole Bill sez he is more of a Rachel Maddow kind of guy…
That’s DR Rachel Maddow to you, sir! She finished her degree…finally!
They’re so cute! Nobody leaves me any baby kitties.
Huh, Sam doesn’t drool, she is 11 yrs old and the biggest mama’s girl you have ever seen. She also snores and hemm, farts.
Hahahaha
My husband always blames the cats!!!
Too funny!

Kittenmaster-Where are the chocolate chip cookies?
The Kittenmaster seems to AWOL this week three or four questions have been posed to him with no feedback.
Maybe he’s on holiday somewhere.
Hi – this is Titus and Cassius mom.
Thanks for all the nice comments on my (big) boys. I was totally thrilled and proud to see the little guys on Daily Kitten today, and have told everyone I know! This morning, Cassius ‘borrowed’ one of my earrings and dropped it his water dish. He does this with almost all his toys. 🙂
Love your kitties, and they’ll love ya back!
Welcome, AuriesDaughter and thankyou for sharing your beautiful babies. I’m happy to have met them. They are beautiful boys and quite mischevious too! Thanks for sharing.
Love the cuddling pictures of your two cute and furry kitties. Thanks for sharing the pics with us. I bet they are double the fun and full of mischief as orangies can be.
Welcome, and your kitties are gorgeous all cuddled up like that!
My Smokey often does that with toys – either in the water (messy, cos her favourite “toy” is scrunched up paper) or by the food bowl. Then she’ll meow plaintively at me cos she “can’t” get at her food!
–Welcome AuriesDaughter– Your babies are beautiful
Hi AuriesDaughter-Your boys a very handsome. Thank you for taking them both in. This photo is wonderful. I’ve had it on my computer all day.
Love your kits– Thanks for sharing them.

Awww, I love orangies! These two are adorable, so glad you took them both, so they “wouldn’t be lonely.”!! You’re so lucky to have these two beauties.
Beautiful marmalades! My Redford is a creamsicle, too, and is such a little love bug. Orangies are the best!
Titus and Cassius
Once they were born
Were dropped off
And were forlorn.
They now don’t worry about outside weather
Because forever they’ll be together
By taking in both these boys of ginger
I ‘speck their human became a kitty binger.
He’s BACK!!! You have been missed. Nice poems.

Natural Balance ocean fish formula canned cat food (3 & 6 oz)
The last is my boy’s favorite, and was thinking of feeding it to them tonite for lack of anything better!
Haven’t read the whole thing yet, seems American Nutrition may have substituted RPC for Rice flour??? Don’t really know, but knowledge is power.
I’ve been feeding my kits Newman’s Own Premium Cat Food. Everything local, non-imported and human grade ingredients. So far so good. Plus, I like his charity work, and proceeds from the sale of his products go to help others.

This reminded me of my Buster. He has big fuzzy “gauchos”. He comes when called, and is my true love. I got him a kitten named Peanut that someone found in the gutter. She is not an orange boy, but she is awesome.
They are so cute!!!
OMG! Susan–did you hear about this?!
**Drug and dog fighting investigation at property owned by Michael Vick**
BY VERONICA GORLEY CHUFO
Daily Press
April 26, 2007, 4:05 PM EDT
SURRY — Property in Surry County owned by Atlanta Falcons quarterback and Newport News native Michael Vick was searched Wednesday as part of a State Police narcotics investigation — and now there are allegations of dog fighting, too.
Vick does not live there in the two-story brick house on a couple of acres, but his nephew does, State Police spokesman D.S. Carr said. Vick is not a suspect in the drug investigation, Carr said.
After the State Police arrived at the Moonlight Road property, they called in Surry Animal Control. Dogs on the property appeared to be neglected, Surry County Administrator Tyrone Franklin said.
The Humane Society of the United States said the dogs appeared to have broken limbs, scarring and other injuries consistent with dogfighting, said John Goodwin, the society’s deputy manager of animal fighting issues. The society’s director was on scene Wednesday and found 60 to 70 pitbulls.
“We’ve been hearing for years about Michael Vick being involved in dogfighting,” Goodwin said.
Surry County officials could not be reached to confirm the dogfighting allegations. Both the state police and Animal Control investigations are ongoing.
As a Houstonian, and a semi-Texans fan, it looks like the Falcons traded the wrong quarterback. David Schaub may not be a one-man team, but so far there are no dog-fighting stories about him.
60 or 70 pit bulls? Maybe pitbulls need to be treated like controlled substance medication. You can only own one if you get a prescription and are carefully monitored in how you use it by a licensed practitioner!
I agree with you on that, Sharon. Every time we go to the vet, there seems to be at least one pit bull in the waiting room. They are the sweetest, friendliest dogs you could ever imagine. The problem ain’t the dog, its the human!
I’m glad you’re such a wonderful Mother! They look truly content. I’m so happy you decided to take them both!
Your Sis,
Korky
THERE SO CUTE I USED TO HAVE AN ORANGE KITTEN NAMED OLIVER BUT HE RAN AWAY
