Tres bien ensenble!
oops, “les mots”
Everyone on TDK a new chemical contaminent has been found in pet food, and in urine of sick cats. It is Melamine, use in the manufacture of plastic. This chemical has been at at least one plant manufacturing dry food. Check the news.
OK……have looked high and low. Where on the news did you see this??? This poison in our furry butts food is starting to get me worried and pretty mad!
OOOOOOOPS….found it. grrrr
Sweet little kitty is saying “Mommy pick me up pleeeeese”
What a sweetheart!
Good morning everyone,
HAPPY Friday!!
Happy Friday to you too…. YEAH for the weekend!!!!
Weeee….
Hi Bumblebee! Glad you’re back.
8)
Hi Marsha,
Hey thanks!! I miss you guys when I am at work…
Awwww she is so sweet, how adorable!!
You are so right! She has the most precious expression on her face! Cute overload, yet again.
just one more morsel, please please please…….
Ballet kitty!
whats up with the name giselle she looks like a Mally or Haether
Come on Giselle, into HM’s backpack, Huddy’s Mama needs me to carry it for her, you know her neck and everything. She has lined it with a little nip and something soft to cuddle on…….
Here, Tinafish. I bought HM a backpack on wheels with a retractable handle and a removable pouch for the ‘nip. Put Giselle in there with my compliments!
Ginny, You are the giving friend. HM must still be sleeping, we’ll surprise her with the new rolling backpack!
And this is why I love this site. Even though she is not first HM’s bud are looking out for her. I’ll add a couple of nibbles of feta since Giselle is a greek kitty. (reaches in feeds Giselle some feta, gives her oh so soft head a gentle stroking and sends her on her way with HM)
better add some morsels of lamb with the feta, my cats are all “greek” cats, love the feta, lamb, kalimari.
“You no eat meat?”
“You no eat meat?”
“You no eat meat?”
“S’okay, I cook lamb.”
You guys are SO sweet. I LOVE the rolling backpack. It’s the neatest present I’ve received in QUITE some time.
Let’s all hang out and have some mimosas while we watch over and cuddle with the beauteous Giselle.
Mmmmm…. mimosas……
Wait, I have the multicolored paper umbrellas, Here!
I could use it! Things have been crazy here with me having to do 2 jobs at once while the ESL’s are being tested and the Language Arts kids are finishing a term project. One more week and both those tasks are done. Meanwhile, my brain is spinning, and I can’t get off! Wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-h!
Since I already have the feta, I will make feta theologous (Baked feta with garlic, oregano, lemon and olive oil) to go with the mimosas.
OOH! Here come the incredibly muscular, tanned cabana boys with those Mimosas! Hey You! Over here! 🙂
Mimosas are yummy but how about some margaritas? Make mine on the rocks please and some guacamole and chips please or a nice steak fajita…okay I am hungry now.
ppearson please give us the whole recipe for the baked feta. I love feta I put it in most salad even pasta shrimp salad.
Mimosassssssssssss great….we tried the champagne for a party drink, but cause it makes us sleepy, we add a citrus RIPIT (99cents energy drink from walmart) to the champage and we call it our CHAM-RIP. It is great !! (GrammyPammy passing out samples……)
Mimosas – yum! Most champagne with a touch of oj for color…
awww “no IIII love you more ” FUZZ!!
*takes kitty into the (kitty for baby ) bag , and returns in few minutes* i love this kitty
Awwwwww. How cute. The curly fur under her chin looks so extremely soft – I just want to cuddle her!
What a doll!
A~
She’s a beauty!
Ooh, Giselle, you are one cute little fluffball! You have fun playing with HM and Tinafish. It’s a beautiful day here in Jersey; I’m taking a half day. Gonna go and be with my fuzzbuts, YAY! Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend.
What an adorable face! Love me, feed me, play with me, I have eyes ONLY FOR YOU Mommy! (I’m melting with kitty luv)
Are the stars out tonight?
I don’t know if it’s cloudy or bright
cause I only have eyes for you.
That is such a beautiful song. It was my mom and dad’s song, and even though my father has been gone for 40 years, my mother still cries every time she hears it.
Awwww Dee, that is so sweet and very sad too. Bless your Mom….
Dee, my parents song was Mack the Knife boy could they cut a rug dancing to that. I still get misty when I hear Bobby Darin singing it. My dad has been gone 36 years and my mama 10 years I still miss her terribly.
Mom and Dad loved to dance and won many a contest. Their favorite song was The Tennessee Waltz. I can still remember standing on dad’s shoes waltzing with him. He died in 1976 and mom left me in 1989. I Really miss them, especially my best friend mom. I liked being someone’s little girl.
Sorry off topic. Ginny are you a teacher? Where at speficly? I am currnetly subbing but hope to get a full-time postition for Aug.
I teach Lang. Arts and ESL at a junior high in TX. I started out subbing until I got my alternative certification. It’s a good way to find out what age range you really want to teach. It’s not too early to look for positions for next year, but the bulk of the available positions here aren’t known until around May-June. It is not unusual for many positions to not become available until July due to unexpected openings (spousal transfer, “a better offer,” etc.).
Google-search the daylights out of area districts and their parent organizations. Also look into state BOE websites. Check out their links. I wish you well!
I’m getting diabetes for sure looking at this sweetie !!!
Giselle, you are so precious. I’m sure she is loved very much, because her eyes show she is trusting and adoring the human behind the camera. A real sweety.
Hello Elene!!!
Good Morning and happy TGIF. Do you work today? How are you making out? Are you full time yet? When I first became a lurker you were posting throughout the day and now that you are back to work I miss your comments. As nice as it is to be home everday, I know it is much better when the bills can get paid too.
Hello Elene,
So sweet of you to say you miss my posts. Awwww….
I am off today. It is a warm, beautiful sunny day out too! I got 35 hours next week so I am very happy! Depending on my availability, I can get up to 38-39 hours on accasion. I am happy with 35 though.
Yes, it is VERY nice to have money to pay my bills…. I became way… behind being out so long.
My back is pretty good. One day it didn’t hurt at all, but when I’m at the register a long time, my right side back bothers me a lot.
I really miss being on here during the day too. I am at work, wishing I was visiting with my TDK friends. I think of you all throughout the day!! 🙂
The little ball of fluff is giving you the “I love you” look.
She’s a perfect little doll! Just beautiful.
What a beautiful baby! Watch those mats…..they’re a killer for the kitty.
any one whach grease your the one I whant?
Greek Goddess Fuzz!!! So precious. I bet she gets away with everything naughty. That’s the look they get when they say, “I Wuv you, Mommy… I didn’t mean to do it! Will you snuggle me now???” *Turn on pouty eyes*
Calvin: … So could I, Mom? Please? ..Pleeeaase?
Hobbes: I still don’t think giving her ‘Bambi Eyes’ is going to get you a flamethrower.
Calvin: Maybe I should sniffle a little too, huh?
what?
Not a Calvin and Hobbes fan? That’s o.k. I wanted a link with the illustrations, too, but couldn’t find it and had to settle for the dialogue only.
Calvin is a precocious and obnoxious 6-year-old with a penchant for destruction. His best friend is his stuffed tiger, Hobbes, who only comes to life for Calvin. Hobbes is the voice of reason for the pair. It was a classic comic strip that ran from the mid-80’s to the mid 90’s. I still miss it terribly.
Oh Ginny I love, love, love Calvin and Hobbes. I went out and bought all their books. I do miss the comic strip it was absolutely the funniest thing out there!
I got it, Ginny. I’m a huge C&H fan as well. To this day, I find them “guffaw out loud” funny.
what was that
SHE IS JUST ADORABLE!! 🙂
A beautiful baby…
Opa fuzzbutt! I loved the little face. They always look like they went face first into a wall. My mama had a little Irish pug nose I always told her she looked like a red headed Persian kitty.
bummer morning !! Had to send my 15 yr baby Yathzee over the rainbow bridge. Had cancer. Could not stand to suffer all weekend with him. RIP Yathzee
*HUGS*
I have been in your shoes 3 times in my life… hang in there. 🙂
Chris, I’m so sorry. Yathzee is cancer-free now and playing with many new friends at the Rainbow Bridge. May he live on in your heart and memory until you are one day reunited with him.
So sorry for your loss, may your memories be long and your grief short.
Hugs and prayers of comfort to you, Chris…. I am so sorry.
You did the right thing to end his pain. I’m sending you lots of hugs and warm thoughts.
15 years! you gave him a wonderful life…he was so lucky to have had you.
Thoughts and prayers sent your way Chris. It is not easy losing such a beloved friend!
I am sorry for your loss Chris. May you find comfort in the fact that your furry buddy is without pain now. I am sure he is with the other kitties checking out the catnip and best place to play with butterflies. You will see him again when it is time. Hugs and purrs.
Purrs of comfort to you Chris.
That was so kind of you and so hard, too. All our thoughts are with you.
I feel your pain. Hugs and purrs to you!
Chris,
I am SO very sorry for your loss of sweet Yathzee. My heart breaks for you….
I’m so sorry you’ve lost your Yathzee. Hugs to you.
Awwwww, Chris, so sorry to hear about Yathzee. I’ll be thinking of you!
A sad day for you, Kittycat Dog, Squeaky and Freckles. So sorry for the loss of your much loved Yathzee. Get everybody together on and near your lap and hug, hug, hug while the tears flow.
I’m so sorry about your Yathzee, it is so hard to let them go but you absolutely did the right thing for him. Positive thoughts, prayers and head bonks are headed your way.
When my Fibs died I wrote the following. It has been three years now, and it still brings tears to my eyes when I talk about him. But eventually there will come a day in your future when you can think about Yatzee and laugh.
Heart broken and missing you, I drag my sorrow like a weight.
The space you occupied in my life is a gaping hole around me.
Invisible, emotionless the hole sits on my feet and begs for attention.
Emptiness follows me.
Tears pile up behind my eyes, sometimes they fall forward.
They cling to my lashes, heavy hot holding on like my grief.
Sometimes they spill back, a flowing grief that drips across my heart.
Emptiness fills me.
I held you in my hand and caressed you to your first breath.
Thin golden thread held you to this world, I was tangled there.
You embroidered a pattern to my days, it was beautiful, and I want more.
Emptiness covers me.
I held you in my arms and loved you to your last breath.
Golden thread broken, unraveling twine tethered to emptiness.
You waited for me, the circle was complete, I still miss you.
Beautiful, Rosie! And it really captures the feeling of losing our dearest furry friends.
Beautifully spoken, Rosie. My sympathy and prayers are with you, Chris, in the loss of your beloved Yathzee.
Hello Lynn, my PA. buddy!
How are you??
I am doing great today. I have the day off.
Rosie,
That is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read and sums up so eloquently what it is like to lose a furbaby. I had Clueless from first breath to last too and your words so completely express what my heart felt that day. It took three kits to replace her. I hope that today, she and Fibs are laying in a sunbeam together with Yahtzee at their sides.
Ok, gotta grab a tissue, the mascara is smearing.
ppearson inky, just wondering where in KY you are…I am from the BG area and have been away from there for yrs, but moving back in couple months. I drove the shuttle for WKU there.
if you know me email me a cshellchick at yahoo
Rosie–that was just beautiful. You have me crying over here.
You made my eyes well up and spill over. My 2 old ladies will celebrate 19 each years this year….and I dread the day when either of them leave me. I’ll need your poem then…it is beautiful and says everything a true lover of cats feels. Thank you….keep on writing…you have a talent.
My deepest sympathies! Somehow, with these pets of ours, 15 seems a very small number. I’m sure you gave a wonderful and pampered time, and you will miss him sorely. Prayers to you-
oh, Chris. ::::hugs:::: what a heartache. I’m sending good thoughts your way….
Shedding a tear for you, Chris, but I know you have done the right thing and Yahtzee is no longer suffering. Give all the other fuzzbutts an extra snorgle this weekend and take comfort in their love.
So sorry for you and your lost baby. Just know that he’s no longer suffering and he’s thankful to have been able to share his wonderful long life with such a caring family! He’s at his catnip welcome feast now, livin it up and watching over you!
thanks everyone !!! Its really going to be hard going home later with no Yathzee around :(. My youngest cat was going nuts this morning when I put Yathzee in the cat carrier. She has been mothering him all week long. It weird when you put the cat in the carrier without a fight. I have a scar on my arm from him when he was young and frisky trying to put him in the carrier. Now i look at that scar like its a keepsake. Oh well-suck to be me. RIP Yathzee
………….bringing back my tears from when i fell to my knees and dug in the dirt to bury my HALEY 3 yrs ago…………..
I’m sorry you lost your baby. I’ll say prayers for you. I’m always at a loss for words at times like these.
So very sorry, Chris. That was a beautifully unselfish act. Your baby lived a good life with a good mom.
I’m so sorry for your loss Chris. You gave Yathzee and long and wonderful life. Prayers for you and your family.
Chris,
So sorry for the loss of your dear Yathzee. Hugs are being sent your way.
Any guesses as to what my weekend will be like (provided it doesn’t rain)?
http://www.ktrh.com/pages/ontheroad.html
Have tons of fun this weekend! Those blubonnets are gorgeous!
Lucky you. It must be like heaven to take in all that glorious beauty. Breathtaking!!!!! Prayers for Texas sunshine this weekend.
I used to work in Dallas and I loved it when the bluebonnets came out. There are some great fields on the way to the airport!
Lovely!
I would like to ask y’all to keep Texans in your prayers. It has been raining a lot off and on since yesterday, and my part of the state, North Central Texas, is experiencing flooding. With more rain in the forecast for Saturday.
Waah! It’s been mostly-cloudy to overcast for the past three days, but nothing more than “spitting rain.” Sounds like I’m gonna be in for it, unless the rain stays north of me. Waco’s about the same longitude as where I am, but a couple of hours north.
I got this in my email box this morining- Just a FYI
The recent pet food recall by Menu Foods has been all over the news. We thought you’d appreciate hearing the latest information about this serious and sometimes confusing situation.
First, we’d like to reassure you that the recent nationwide pet food recall does not include any Mars Petcare US pet food products. All of our brands, including PEDIGREE® food for dogs, CESAR® canine cuisine, THE GOODLIFE RECIPE™ food for dogs and cats, WHISKAS® and SHEBA® food for cats, and TEMPTATIONS® cat treats, are safe for pets to enjoy.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now focusing its investigation on wheat gluten as the possible source of contamination that sparked the national recall of cans and pouches of pet food last week.
On March 23, the FDA confirmed the safety of products not involved in the recall. According to the FDA, pet owners should feel confident feeding their pets products not affected by the recall.
What’s more, we at Mars Petcare US have verified that wheat gluten is not sourced from any of the suppliers who are currently under investigation by the FDA.
The safety and nutritional quality of our pet food is our top priority because for many people, their pets are their top priorities.
For details on the recall, contact Menu Foods at 1-866-895-2708, 1-866-463-6738 or visit the company’s web site at: http://www.menufoods.com/recall.
Yours truly,
Mars Petcare US
I received this e-mail this morning. Such a confusing issue. We do have to stay informed on all data even though so much seems to be conflicting
http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=media_newsalert033007&JServSessionIdr005
Here’s a news article I just read, designed to confuse all of us. I hope they figure out just what caused all those horrible deaths. My four get Science dry food but this article says the plastic chemical could be in dry food too. I’m no cook. I guess I’ll keep using the dry food and keep my fingers and toes all crossed. Sorry for intruding on Dee’s job, but I figure duplication cannot hurt when we are all so worried. And HM, get that second or third opinion, lots of good luck and if you need another rolling backpack, I’ll contribute one!
FDA testing reveals chemical in pet food
By ANDREW BRIDGES, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 40 minutes ago
WASHINGTON – Recalled pet foods contained a chemical used to make plastics, but government tests failed to confirm the presence of rat poison, federal officials said Friday.
The Food and Drug Administration said it found melamine in samples of the Menu Foods pet food, as well as in wheat gluten used as an ingredient. Cornell University scientists also have found the chemical, sometimes used as a fertilizer, in the urine of sick cats, as well as in the kidney of one cat that died after eating the company’s wet food.
Menu Foods recalled 60 million containers of cat and dog food earlier this month after animals died of kidney failure after eating the Canadian company’s products. It is not clear how many pets may have been poisoned by the apparently contaminated food, although anecdotal reports suggest hundreds if not thousands have died. The FDA alone has received more than 8,000 complaints.
The new finding comes a week after scientists at the New York State Food Laboratory identified a rat poison and cancer drug called aminopterin as the likely culprit in the pet food. The FDA said it could not confirm that finding.
New York officials have detected melamine as well, though it’s not clear how that chemical would have poisoned pets. It’s typically used to produce plastic kitchen wares, though it’s apparently used as a fertilizer in Asia, said Stephen F. Sundlof, director of the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine.
New York remained confident in its aminopterin finding, said Patrick Hooker, commissioner of the New York state Department of Agriculture and Markets. Hooker added that neither aminopterin nor melamine should be in pet food, but that it was unclear why the latter substance would be poisonous to the cats in which it was found.
“While we have no doubt that melamine is present in the recalled pet food, there is not enough known data on the mammalian toxicity levels of melamine to conclude it could cause illness and deaths in cats. With little existing data, many questions still remain as to the connection between the illnesses and what has caused them,” Hooker said.
The recall involved nearly 100 brands of “cuts and gravy” style dog and cat food made by Menu Foods. The recall covered products carrying names of major brand-name and private-label products sold throughout North America.
The apparently melamine-contaminated wheat gluten also was shipped to an unnamed company that manufactures dry pet food. The FDA is attempting to determine if that product, imported from China, was used to make any pet food, Sundlof said. There is no risk to human food, he told reporters.
Menu Foods used wheat gluten, a source of vegetable protein, to thicken the gravy of its pet foods, FDA officials have said.
Menu Foods spokesman Sam Bornstein did not know whether company testing had found melamine in its products. The company planned a press conference later Friday.
I’m getting a bit wary of Iams products too.The article I read said that Iams started putting an unnamed supplement in their food this January. They wouldn’t elaborate.
I’m starting to feel scared for my big lab,Beau,b/c I just bought a big bag of Iams, dry weight loss. I might have to start cooking for him. I couldn’t stand to lose him.
Kittywatchers and catlovers, check this out….on your search bar, type in peta Iams. It’s shocking and scary.
OHboy another peachie coloured persian.I hope they remember to wash her little face especially around her eyes,so she won’t get rings under her eyes .
Hi Elaine,
Just saw your furry babies on Catster. They are beautiful. My furry ones accepted their friend request and left them all treats.
Mayra, how is Chloe doing? Has the vet or specialist come up with something other than extractions of the teeth?
She’s better, thanks for asking. She is responding well to prednisone. It’s not a permanent form of treatment, but it looks like she’ll keep her teeth at least for now. Her mouth can’t be hurting much because the other night she bit me three times to keep me from laying hands on MY new blanket, which she has decided is now hers. But as long as she’s happy…
Bad momma for touching Chloe’s blankie. You should know by now that nothing a kitty likes is yours. They only know mine, mine, mine. 😛
Toddler’s Creed (applies to cats, too!)
If I want it, it’s mine.
If I give it to you and change my mind later, it’s mine.
If I can take it away from you, it’s mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
If it’s mine, it will never belong to anyone else, no matter what.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
That’s funny! But cats make one exception:
-If I cough up a hairball on it, it’s all yours (’til you wash it, anyway).
Amen to that!
Caramel goodness…yummm! So precious!
Evangeline? Isn’t Wally having a birthday this weekend? Many happy returns, Wallingford!
Omigosh what a sweetie-pie! She is simply adorable!!!
Pretty Persian baby! They need a little extra care (face washing and hair brushing), but they return the love many times over.
I have a favor to ask all you inventive, creative minds on TDK. My son is going to be opening a business with a partner. His partner came up with the name, but Brendan thinks another name will be better. He and I have tried names but so far no luck. It needs to be different and catchy to be noticed amongst all the competition. The business will be a retail store selling quality mattresses, some beds, bed linens, etc. The emphasis will be the mattresses. Any 💡 out there? They may be signing a lease in a few weeks and of course will need a forever name at that time.
see comment below
How about Sleep Tight, Sleep Right? Or some combo there of?
Are they sports nuts? If so you could go with “The Dream Team”
I love that! Here in Atlanta it’s Mattress King. *yawn*
Here in San Antonio, TX it’s The Matress Firm-blah
I like “The Dream Team”! Catchy, with lots of creative possibilities for marketing.
Ooo, I can see a comercial with an anoucher and local sports team like characters getting all pumped up and siked and such, then they all “argh” and leap on to a bed and fall promptly asleep -info about the store-the announcer then says, “Yep still dreaming” What do you think?
I like The Dream Team, too. . .just be careful to make sure that there’s copyright infringement. After the success of the Dream Team at the Olympics, who knows if it’s copyrighted?
forgot to put the NO copyright infringement in there!
Perhaps this fun site will get your creative juices running!
http://www.sloganizer.net/en/
What’s the name that they came up with? Might help in thinking of alternate ideas
His partner likes “That Mattress Place” or “That Mattress Store”. I can’t remember which, but Brendan knows there has got to be something better.
The Mattress Place is so generic. I like Dream Time Bedding,
Under Cover Bedding
What about “Pillow Talk”
Are you going into advertising? You’d be perfect.
Naw, I’m just a simple computer animator.
Though I did say that if for some odd reason I ever opened a wedding shop I would call it ‘The Hitching Post’
Creature Comforts
Or how about….
Cloud Nine
Creature Comforts – great movie 😀
The Snore Store
The Snore Store and More!
Ohhhhh, I like that.
Me, too.
So Elene, any of these catching your eye??
Most definitely, and I thank everyone for their input. I used to be creative, but my pain induced depression has turned off the whirring wheels. I am keeping a list to present to Brendan and his partner. Will let you know after their decision is made final.
I just drove by the place they are trying to rent. It is located on Memory Lane. Good name. I hope it works out for them.
Sweet Dreams on Memory Lane
I love the name.
please add mine:Sweet Dreams Inc..or Heavenly Dreams &Etc.Inc.,or Sleepy Dreams Inc.
Snores are us
How ’bout a bit o’ the bard?
To Sleep, Perchance to Dream
Depends on the market and the products, though. This would be appropriate for higher end stuff, not the bargain basement.
my little preggers manx is still missing, but Istill have my calico that I breed to spotty’s daddy, and she is due this 1st. week of Aprill. As soon as the babbies are born I’ll put their pix on my catster site, and everyone can see them by connecting to my name, when Igive out the news.
dream sleep inc.
Sheer Innocence!
Sleep Heavenly?
Gisele Bundchen (Victoria’s Secret model) better watch out! This Gisele would look absolutely gorgeus in a bikini! 😉
**FDA Finds Chemical in Pet Food**

OPA. a nice greek kitty I have a beautiful calendar “Cats of Greece” love it. and what a sweet little pug face. ok I know many of you have dogs too, I have a lab that is a service dog fluncky……..lol she was just to high energy for service dog program, she has a yeast infection in her ear ( she gets water in her ear jumping in horse tank….typical lab) the stuff from the vet is expensice 15$ for a tiny bottle, any “home remidies” that I could use once i get the infection cleared up to prevent the next time? I am a naught girl today I am to sick to go to work…..lol….lol.
Use a solution of vinegar and water (like for swimmer’s ear) every time your pooch does the dunk. But be careful not to put too much in. Also, swab his ears. Don’t be scared you may puncture a drum. The ear drum of a dog is way under the mandable and that is why they are prone to yeast infections. Also you can use the over the counter femanine products for the yeast infection. Ask your vet, usually they are more concerned about the pet getting better than the money they make off the medicine, and if they aren’t you need a new vet!
You might also try some warm olive oil while you are swabbing out his ears. That stuff works miracles, much better than Windex-
Yep, good ol’ EVOO!!
I use hydrogen peroxide in my own ear, but of course it’s possible that may not work for pets. Also rubbing alcohol.
For the last 2 weeks we have had a Robin trying to get into our house. It is driving the cats nuts. It just keeps flying at the windows -it is doing it now as I type. Wierd bird!
Check out and see if you have red berries nearby. We had a pyrcantha (sp?) near my tree when I was a kid and every spring the Robins would eat the berries and fly into our windows much to the delight of my mom’s siamese cat, Fiesta. I am told the berries make the birds drunk.
Sheesh…I do not make any sense. I meant to say pyrcantha tree near my house. No breakfast or caffine yet and still I can’t type….hmmm.
Is that what it is? The cardinals would flock to our pyracantha and gobble the berries then fly to the dogwoods and eat those berries- back and forth over and over as a flock. Never ran into the windows, though. Drunk birds. Too funny!
That is cute MerD,
My friends in Va. said there were hundreds of Robins flocking through their yard and ate every berry on their Holly bushes! She wanted to take a picture, but there were so many at once, it was impossible!
Have you receintly added a room? It seems that birds get to know how to get from one place to another and when new construction goes up in that path they fly the same route anyway and wind up hitting windows. Happens all the time with pidgeons in the city.
No new rooms, nothing out of the ordinary. We have lived here for 5 1/2 yrs and this is the first time ever. THe bird is so persistant. Almost every moring it starts hitting the windows at about 8:30 and goes on for about an hour. I think it wants to nest.
Get a large vinyl decoration (the type that uses static cling to stick to windows) and put it on your window. Kindergartens use these all the time–try a teacher supply store if you have trouble finding one. If you keep the windows very clean, the birds don’t see that it is not an open space until it’s too late. You may not be happy with obstructing your view, but you only need to keep it there long enough for the birds to find their nesting places and settle down (maybe 4-6 weeks).
I used to baby-sit as a kid for a family with a big picture window, and that solution worked. It had become a nightmare because the birds would only collide with the window while the twins were napping, colliding noisily enough to wake them.
Hope this helps.
It is mating season it may see its reflection and think it is fighting another male for territory.
I don’t mind, The bird is not hitting hard enough to hurt itself or the window, just, thummp, pause, thump, pause, thump….. Cheap cat entertainment…. 🙂
A couple of years ago I heard a commotion at our patio door, and looked to see three of our cats crouched and lashing their tails at a female cardinal who was fiercely attacking the door. I thought she was a brave bird to take on so many cats, but when I went outside I realized that the E-film on the door makes it reflective–she thought she was fighting another bird, and never dreamed she was being watched hungrily by cats. If your feathered friend isn’t trying to fly through the glass, he’s probably fighting his reflection.
Catherine
It could be attacking the bird it sees in the window. Is there any way to drape the upper part of the window so the cats can still look out?
Joan I wrote to you my neice’s name and the name of her book I don’t know if you read it days ago if not here it is again.

TGIF! I am off to go sign up with some more temp agencies in my bid to find a permanent job. The temp agencies keep calling me and I go to meet with them but then after meeting with them nothing seems to happens. Seems like a waste of time. Oh well at least it gets me out of the apartment into the nice 70 degree weather we are having.
I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Keep pluggin’ away, Karin. As “the Great One,” Wayne Gretzky famously said: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Call the temp agencies every week, like on a Tuesday and/or Thursday. Because offices that need a person will find out Mondays and Wednesdays usually. Nag your way into a job! Don’t give up-keep at ’em!
Well all Jessica came home last night, so I have a Very Full house…………..I have a home office and will be hiding under my desk……….oh and what a sweet doo baby……….
Hey Brandi Lee!!!
I didn’t get a chance to tell you CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a Grandma to be, a secong time! That is so exciting.
I am off today and usually cannot post until later in the day when I work, so didn’t want to post something you wouldn’t see.
(You may want to look into buying a bigger house… LOL!!)
Brandi Lee,
How are your fuzzbutts doing??? I was so sorried for them!
Bumblebee,
All are on the mend……there are still a few running around with the barfs (yuck)……but they are on a strict diet of hard food lots of water and fresh air and sunshine 🙂
Erwin, came thru the surgery (tutoring) and is fairly happy, he sleeps alot………….Lady Jane had a severe infection of the uterus, she made it thru the surgery, and has changed already, she is loving, snuggly…..before she was very standoffish…….
Brown Eyed Girl Fuzz.
Aloha Friday everyone!
Do you remember when we used to sing,
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
(Just like that)
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
OK, Now this VanMorrison song will be in my head all day! 😀
Could be worse, you could be stuck with “Raindrops keep fallin’ on my head” (it’s raining here)
Your out to get me! 😆
Or what about “don’t worry, be happy”
Hey! Kroger sells bithday balloons that you thump and it plays the Bobby McFerrin song. Guess how many times carrying it home and hitting all the potholes and bumps?! 1001, 1002, 1003…
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
*last seen running down street screaming*
😆
How about “It’s a small world”? That song tends to drive me over the edge.
NO! ANYTHING but that!!
There are a couple that are worse than ‘Small world’… How about ‘The Chicken Song’? the one they play at weddings and American Oktoberfests? It sticks with me for weeks!! Drives me buggy!
My sister-in-law sent me a birthday card last month that plays “The Chicken Dance” whenever you open it.
Can you believe that I had never heard that tune in my life until I moved to FL in 1996? I didn’t exactly live in a vacuum either–grew up in a major college town, did a stint in the military, etc.
Hey MerD,
I got Perry his dry Iams yesterday. He was eating a little of the canned salmon I have. He went nuts over the food. I just hope and pray there is nothing wrong with that food. I am so worried….. I saved my old bag and will save this one too, just in case. So far the cats are acting their usual self.
Kittes are so odd with thier persnickity habits.. I’m glad he is eating. 😉
What a beautiful girl and with a beautiful name as well. All that lamb’s wool on her chest makes me just want to snuggle!!
Have a good weekend. I just saw the new Jib Jab video and laughed so much I had to play it for one of the History teachers:
http://www.jibjab.com/what_we_call_the_news?jjeid=wwctn-reg
This is the link but I’m not sure how to make it so it works from here. Not very techy
Thank you, Rosie! I heard about this on the news early this morning but hadn’t had a chance to look for it. That is some funny stuff..
Rosie –
Thanks for the link. I first heard of Jib Jab during the ’04 election from a friend. That friend just passed away this afternoon – I got the phone call about her just as I clicked on the link. She was a close friend and I learned many things from her. All of us who loved her (and there are many of us) will miss her, but we all have such wonderful memories!
Bad news continues to filter out. FDA has warned the Iams company in January against using an untested “dietary supplement†in its cat and dog weight control formula wet and dry foods. “The FDA considers chromium tripicolinate to be genotoxic, meaning it can damage DNA and cause mutations and tumors.†Amazingly, the FDA posted the letter only today.
No word yet if Iams has complied with the warning to remove the ingredient chromium tripicolinate. We’ve read several posts concerning the removal of weight control formulas from stores.
IMPORTANT: We have several articles that suggest a link between this substance and chronic as well as acute renal failure below.
http://www.itchmo.com/read/fda-issues-warning-against-iams_
Hmm, my cats don’t like any of the Iams stuff. Maybe they know more than we do. Mine eat Science Diet dry and Friskies canned. All seems to be well so far.
This is really bad for me. My boys are on Iams weight control. If anybody hears more about this, please let me know. Very scary stuff!
Oh No Amy….
Maybe you can switch to something else for now? I’m sorry for the bad news for you. Awwww…
Hi Rainingwolf!!
Thanks for sharing!! This whole thing is so frightening!!
Giselle is beautiful! What a sweet face…I want to cuddle and snorggle her–please?
What a little fuzz doll with those cute little ears!
I want to pick her up and snuggle her. What a sweetheart. I had a paper bag jump in bed with me and wake me up last night. No wait– its Sophie somehow tangled in the handles. I got her untangled and then spent about an hour comforting her after her horrible experience of being attacked by the bag LOL (thats her story) until she finally snuggled down to sleep.
LMAO….that is way too funny!! I imagine it was a rude awakening! The visual in head is pretty entertaining though
Poor Sophie. I’ve had 2 cats get tangled in plastic bag handles. I’ve never knew they could run so fast. Poor guys were scared out of their minds, and Munchie still runs whenever I handle the plastic grocery bags.
One of my cats was stepped on as a small kitten (my honey in his work boots no less) now he’s afraid of shoes, all shoes. That’s right! I have to feed him barefoot and when people come to the house they have to remove their shoes or he won’t come in the house at all.
Rosie,
Awwww your poor baby!
Poor Sophie, she must have been terrified. My daughter’s cat used to love to play in the plastic grocery bags until she got her neck through one of the handles. We had the hardest time trying to catch her. The faster she ran the more noise the bag made. She doesn’t go near grocery bags anymore.
Tansey got caught in one once and ran around and around in our house…got so scared she peed herself, and it was a little dribble on the hardwood floor that followed her. I laughed so hard, even though I was trying to catch her to get it off her. I did feel a little guilty for laughing at her, for about a second or two. (bad kitty mommy)
that’s hilarious….. I almost peed myself reading it!
My late, great Spanky had a ‘run in’ with the plastic bags that he got out of the cabinet–just about scared me to death! A strange noise woke me, but everytime I sat up in bed to listen, it stopped. This went on for what seemed like an eternity. I’d lie back down, I’d hear it again, sit up, it would stop. It started to get closer. . .I actually grabbed my tennis racket. . .it was Spanky in the hallway with the handles of the plastic bag around his neck. Everytime he would start walking, the crinkling sound scared him, so he would stop. I still laugh everytime I think of that and how sweet he was after I ‘saved his life’ from the horrible bag! 🙂
Actually she seemed really calm–she knew mama would fix it. I wish I had been more awake to see exactly how she was tangled it wasn’t hard for me to get it off–she did want a lot of attention after though.
Beautiful girl + beautiful name = perfection. Just WOW!!!!!
She’s a beauty! She looks so soft and cuddly.. 🙂
Persians are the sweetest–my Himalayan, Sheba, follows me around more than any dog–she’s my best friend, will be 12 next month, worth the extra work but she loves the attention of grooming.
So sorry, Chris, about your Yathzee. My other Persian is gone 10 years now, but I still cry when I think of her. God bless you for being a good, unselfish mom, and my prayers are with you.
What an elegant little lady!
Love me!
Cute as a button little girl. I love the expression on her face.
Frustration is mounting
All the month end bean counting
And then I’m presented
Lack of time lamented
With the beautiful Giselle
An escape from accounting hell
Home made food is not working very well here. I made chicken & rice dinner and ground beef & rice dinner. It smelled good to me even though I’m mainly a vegetarian, but only 2 of the 16 would eat it.
I fed some to my feral colony, they did eat it, but not with gusto. Hey, I used to be a really good cook but my confidence is really shaken now. The momma Opossum, her yearling, and the giant Raccoon liked it, but imagine their alternative meals, and it doesn’t help soothe my ego. 🙁
Back to the grocery store. I just wish this tainted food crisis had not interfered with my happy routine, but when you have 8 or 9 cats vomiting all over the furniture, rugs, and even my bed, something has to give. I’m just lucky it didn’t last more than 3 days and had no serious consequences.
Hello Elene:
I have a bit of advice. The problem with homemade food, that I have encountered, is that the cooking leeches out the smelly flavors that the cats respond to; I have found that using gravy,or bouillon, or even some of those flavored sauces that you can get in the pet store are very helpful.
I realize that the big issue with the tainted pet food is wheat gluten, so you might want to stay away from prepared sauces and gravies, but I think a little bouillon, or the tuna water from a can of tuna will be helpful. Also, try a little olive oil-my cats really like it. They also like feta cheese crumbles – you could sprinkle that over the food (if you get goat milk feta, the cats will not get sick due to the lactose as they would from cow’s milk).
All in all, my admiration for your devotion to the ferals and your group. My ferals get all the high end food that my own kittens disdain, so the feral colony is extraordinarily healthy!
I hope your cats get better soon-
Elene, I can relate to the eight or so cats puking……..I went to walart to replace the bedding ( retching in own hand)…….LOL………..let me know what works cause I am making some today …….I think I will try Livers………..any thoughts?
Hey Elene,
What were you feeding them, that they got sick on? I’m sorry they were sick all over your house. Awwww….. What a mess.
How adorable you have an opposum and baby. They are SO cute!!!! They were having a feast huh!? Best food they ever got!! That is so funny….
I am like you and eat very little meat. I do buy the organic free range chicken though once in a great while. I cook a whole one and make soup out of the leftovers. I used to boil the bones and make broth for the other dog we had. She loved it. I put celery and carrots in it too.
I want to try canned Petguard for my picky Perry. I know he used to eat venison and potato at one time. He is so funny, he takes a long time smelling anything he eats.
The “boys” are all laying in the sun now……
Bumblebee, I was feeding them mainly Friskies canned, but also had some 9-Lives canned. It all started a day or two before the recall and of course neither brand is on the list. For the dry I was using Iams Multi, Purina for sensitive systems, and Naturals. With 16 cats to feed I tend to change the dry according to coupons and sales. I try to stick to Iams, Purina One, and Naturals. I never buy the foods with dyed red and green kibbles as that seems to cause problems for most of my babies.
I became a strict vegetarian about 12 years ago. I did continue with dairy and eggs. Today, with all the pain I live with, I had to compromise to make some meals easier to put together. I do eat the free range eggs and sometimes the chicken. I also have allowed myself the once or twice a week wild salmon.
Are your boys allowed to go outside or is their sunny spot inside?
Mine are not allowed out, but they love when I open the back south facing door. The sun streams across the kitchen floor and they all line up for their naps and personal grooming. Makes me smile every time. Sometimes I even lay out the beach towels for them. They haven’t asked for sunglasses or sun screen–yet.
Giselle is a beautiful little lady…..
Happy Weekend Everyone….
I haven’t a clue if I’ll be able to get to chat with y’all…I’m using Internet Explorer and for some reason it’s not working the way it’s supposed to…sometimes I can get on and sometimes I can’t …and last nite my entire toolbar had been wiped out…is anyone else that uses IE having this problem?
IE has a serious issue in that it was made by Micro$oft.
Hooray! made it back on….MM I agree with you there and try to get help from tech support….what a joke…they want you to pay for it….! I’d tell them to go pound sand and take IE off of here but I need it to post my homework and stuff for my classes I’m taking….I do have firefox, but the school site doesn’t do firefox and so my homework and discussion threads don’t post right….
Have you tried using the IE tabs plugin for Firefox. I use it all the time. Works great. It’s one of the plugins on the Mozilla site
I was having this problem last night too. This morning I just restored down the screen and dragged the screen to full screen. When I maximized it again, the problem was gone. Try it, it worked for me… Hope you have the same luck.
Sorry, I haven’t been online lately. I haven’t been feeling too good lately. With the pollen so bad, my allergies are going bonkers!!!
Giselle looks like a doll! What a sweet expression on her face. I bet she grows up to be a very beautiful cat!
Beautiful little girl!
Hi all. I have missed the banter!
Been wondering about you! Hope all is good, How is you kitties teeth, didn’t you have an absess to deal with?
The funniest entangled cat I ever saw was my late Miranda, who woke up from a nap in the laundry basket and went tearing through the house in a panic with her head through the strap of one of my bras. Poor baby, it took a while to catch and free her. I don’t recall that the experience cured her of sleeping in the laundry, though.
When I get dressed for work in the AM, it always takes longer than it should. Happy, my owner, attacks the bra as soon as I lay it on the bed to change. Goes at it with all four paws and teeth. Of course the obvious answer is don’t put the bra on the bed, but it is so cute I do it anyway.
Awww how cute!
Sophie used to attack my bra when I was getting dressed. She gave that up when she got past kittenhood
Happy recognizes a bra for what it is: A double reenforced, steel belted radial man made and invented tourcher device!
Right Rosie! Definitely a torture device, right up there w/ panty hose and those super high heeled shoes. Ack!
HA! I spelled tourture wrong! Well, I’m an English major not a SPELLING major!!
My husband has often said that he would like to meet the WOMAN who invented the necktie–preferably in a dark alley while he’s armed.
Necktie smecktie! NOTHING is worse than high heels…. I refuse to wear them unless it is only from the car to the restaurant… or in the bedroom…… (Am I in trouble for that statement?)
I am of the opinion that high heels and pantyhose are the modern day eqivalent of footbinding practices. Footbinding was used, on a practical leve, to prevent women from running away (from their husbands, in-laws, etc.), and I think that’s what pantyhose and high heels are all about.
I am a trial lawyer, and one of the newbies here in our office was horrified when I exclaimed out loud that I haven’t worn pantyhose in about 10 years. The new attorney asked “Even in trial?!?!”, to which I responded that I had never won or lost a trial based on whether I was wearing pantyhose. As for high heels, I am a supporter of Cybil Shepard, the actress, who did proclaim, as HV just did, that high heels are only to be worn in the bedroom–
The last time I wore high heels, I fell and broke my arm. It happened 1 month after I opened my hair stying salon…so, in a cast for 6 weeks in a cast and unable to do hair, I swore of high heels. They are okay to sit down with.
To Chris, Yathzee’s mom, my browser doesn’t let me respond directly to comments, for some reason, but I wanted to express my sympathy for the loss of your sweet baby. My 18-year-old Raj was put to sleep on Saturday, so I know exactly how you are feeling. It’s so hard to let go, but even harder to watch them grow weaker by the day. I know you did the right and loving thing for her, and hope that thought will ease your mind during these difficult days. TDK-ers are so loving and supportive; may their prayers and words of comfort soothe your pain. Raj and Yathzee are exploring heaven right now, and waiting for us to join them someday. God bless you and your kitty family!
It sounds you have a Javascript disabled in your browser. To enable it, follow these instructions. Then you’ll be able to reply to individual comments.
Serena, sending hug to you to over the loss of your Raj. I hope he and Fibs find each other and get to a nice sunbeam together
So sorry to hear about Raj, Serenah.
What a beautiful baby! She already knows just how to pose for the best kitty picture too! Watch out Playcat Magazine here she comes!
Just look at that furry little sweetheart! She must know she’s being photographed. God’s blessings on you and this baby always. 🙂
**Alarming Decline of Sharks Causing Other Species to Vanish**
The precipitous decline in large predator sharks in the Atlantic Ocean in the past decade has made ecologists worry about a trickle-down effect on the ocean ecosystem.
A new study supports the case. With the large predators gone, their prey—smaller sharks and rays—are free to feast on lower organisms like scallops and clams, depleting valuable commercial stocks.
“Large sharks have been functionally eliminated from the East Coast of the U.S., meaning that they can no longer perform their ecosystem role as top predators,†said study team member Julia Baum of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Disappearing sharks
Shark populations all over the world have plummeted because of intentional fishing for their fins, which are eaten and used for medicines in Asia, and “bycatch,” in whicn sharks are accidentally caught when fisherman target other species.
For this study, published in the March 30 issue of the journal Science, the researchers looked at surveys of populations of 11 great shark species, conducted between 1970 and 2005. Every species had substantially declined in just those few decades. The smallest observed decline was in sandbar shark populations, which had decreased nonetheless by 87 percent. Other species, including the bull, dusky and smooth hammerhead sharks, may have declined by more than 99 percent.
“They’re all down dramatically,†said study co-leader Charles Peterson of the University of North Carolina.
Two of the shark species studied have been Endangered Species Act candidates since 1997, but have yet to be added to the list, Baum said.
Domino effect
When one predator disappears from an ecosystem, others that eat the same prey usually take over and keep the balance of the ecosystem in check. But in this case, where not one, but all, of the top predators are rapidly disappearing, “you lose the resiliency and buffering capacity of one species to step in for another,†Peterson told LiveScience.
The loss of top predators has a domino effect on the rest of the ecosystem; populations of lower-level predators, such as rays, skates and smaller sharks, aren’t kept in check, allowing them to overeat and wipe out their own prey. The study looked in particular at cownose rays, which feed on bay scallops along the east coast as they migrate in the autumn.
In a 1983–84 study, Peterson found that as the cownose rays came through, they “didn’t make a dent on the scallops.â€
But when the researchers repeated the study from 2003—04, “the scallops were essentially eliminated,†he said. The only scallops that were spared were those that were protected by poles erected by the researchers to keep out the rays, which are broader than the space between the poles.
More repurcussions
Peterson said that the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Service is aware of the problem of declining shark populations and has taken some steps to mitigate the problem, but he emphasized the need to manage whole ecosystems rather than specific species.
In the meantime, Peterson said the problem may be far greater than this study shows: other intermediate predators could be destroying other lower organisms, such as clams and oysters, which are also valuable commercial stocks.
“We haven’t even scratched the surface,†he said.
This is so scary! Since people always look at everything from a “self-interest” perspective, I can’t believe we aren’t TRULY looking at how destroying other creatures is affecting us! We have some severe problems facing us, and all we can do is look away because it doesn’t have an immediate effect. Scary scary!
Wow Instinct,
This is very interesting, and very sad as well…
Thanks for sharing!
It’s human proliferation that has created this trauma on Earth, and now the Earth will address the imbalance by withdrawing her support for large numbers of us. Our population has doubled in 38 years. Some are comparing us to a virus or cancer. At the same time I’m not sure we could have spanned the distance between painting the walls of caves and mapping the human genome, unsupported by such proliferation. It wasn’t wrong for us to want the things we wanted–apparently just not possible for us to have them. The polar bears are already drowning because of us, and I have been crying about them for months. I’ve sadly concluded the human race has been a failed experiment, and I’m wondering if perhaps the Life Force’s descent into matter was the original “Fall.” Not a Sin–just a mistake. I guess from the point of view of natural forces it isn’t even that, it’s only a pendulum swing to be countered. But it has given rise to creatures like us, who can assign meanings and appreciate beauty in a kitten and mourn loss. Sorry to be so downbeat, but it’s been on my mind for years, and I’m still asking what it was all worth. And I think a lot of people are asking the same question.
Back in the early 70’s I was very vocal about zero population growth, recycling and other environmental issues. Most people thought I was a nut because of my beliefs. I can remember being at some event and the host asked about family size. He wanted to know who had the largest family. One couple had 13 children and they got a standing ovation. I was appalled.
It really has gotten to the point that just for my own sanity I have to tune out so much of the horror. The big cats, hippos, whales, wolves, polar bears, many birds, rain forests, oceans, rivers, etc., etc., I can’t make a difference on the huge scale of the devastation, so I concentrate on making a difference for the dogs and cats in my area. I don’t like myself for tuning out but I can’t stand to watch and cry anymore. So So So Sad.
Don’t feel bad for being a little negative, Briar. It’s very difficult to be optimistic in today’s world…and I guess in any time! Where there’s a success story there are many more tragic ones following right behind. It’s hard to believe that, as a country, the US usually really fights against a lot of poor policies (such as the Canadian seal hunts and the Asian whaling and fishing industries) yet we don’t have very good policies, ourselves. I just heard recently that the current administration has turned more protected land over to industrial uses than was given protection under Teddy Roosevelt. Of course, this was under Gail Norton, a former lobbyist for oil and logging companies who was appointed to “ensure the protection” of the American wilderness. What’s sad is it’s been a couple of years since that report came out. My question is, how much more have we done? A lot of people would argue that this is overdramatization, but I’d like to hear what they say years down the road when the problem starts to really overcome us.
We fishing away the last 10% of the fish in the ocean but people don’t realize it beause they can’t see it. Out of sight out of mind. The creator of JAWS said he was sorry he ever made that film becuse of what it has done to the shark population.

Hill’s Pet Nutrition recalled its Prescription Diet m/d Feline dry cat food. The food included wheat gluten from the same supplier that Menu Foods used. The recall didn’t involve any other Prescription Diet or Science Diet products, said the company, a division of Colgate-Palmolive Co.

I am no longer feeding my cats Hill’s food of any kind. They eat the w/d formula for weight reduction. I just recently purchased the all-natural “Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul” cat food and they love it. I would appreciate any suggestions TDKer’s have on all natural brands their kitties like. Thanks
Correction- they used to eat Hill’s w/d- any suggestions for other foods are appreciated! I can’t believe this stuff going on, it makes me very angry!
I have been watching the beautiful kittens since we received our baby near death in September. He was literally dying from blood loss due to the fleas. Now he is sick and I don’t know what is happening to him. He is urinating large amounts. He is barely drinking, which doesn’t make sense to me. He can barely walk. He has an appoinment with the vet in the morning, but I am very worried. If anyone has any ideas I would certainly appreciate them.
Sox’s mom,
Does he have pale gums? or a yellowish tinge to the inside of his ears? and does his eyes look like he has a second eyelid showing, or the whites of his eyes look sorta yellowish or slightly discolored? Mine have had something similar. I can’t remember what the vet called it but jaundice was a symptom of it. Treatment consists of some antibiotics. Mine ran a high fever and wouldn’t eat much but once the fever broke, they began to eat a little at a time. It is scary to go through. Best wishes to you and Sox. Hope he gets to feeling better, soon. Check for ticks, if he’s been exposed to any. My vet told me some tick bites can cause problems with walking. Sending Hugs to the both of you.
Thank you Renee. His gums and nose are both pale. He is in the Vets office. This happened on top of a tornado; it hasn’t been our day. Thank you so much–helps to have someone that can give information!
Let us know how he makes out. We are all wishing you well. Sounds like you have your hands full. Probably best to post on Saturdays kitten.
