Too cute! Singing for my supper FUZZ
Photoshop but still cute
I’ve never seen anything so cute in my entire life!
Although he is very stinkin cute. I wish you would’ve opted to adopt. Being a champion isn’t what makes them great.
Amen to the adoption comment. Glad tho that he has found his forever home.
i concur
hi elaine in dallas i’m elaine in portland, oregon
It’s still a living thing that needs a home.
Regardless of whether he’s adopted or picked from a breeder, he’s a cute cat. I just love cats, and love people who loves cats and give them good homes.
I’m trying out for a rock and roll band FUZZ!!!
Hee hee. Bailey made me giggle. How very cute.
He is very cute. I wish you would’ve opted to adopt. There are many adorable kitties out there that are champions in their own way. I know my girls don’t need ribbons to know that I love them.
Congrats on your new boy.
i agree w/ amy. my two pound kitties are my best friends (i guess second to my husband)
Awww! Looks like he’s preparing for a dental checkup or something. Bet he made the cutest little squeaky meow while doing that too! 🙂
What a great picture! My what big teeth you have..the better to eat you with! Sing along with me…I am little, hear me roar, better not walk out that door…or how ever that song goes. So cute!
He sure is cuuuuuuuuuuute!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless his little tiger heart. I wanna hug and kiss him. Kitties are kitties no matter the breed or place of adoption…………..LOVE THEM ALL!
im in ur face, stealin ur heart
when I picked out my little siamese, he came home with me because he was the kitten who came up to the front of the counter and started to sharpen his tiny little claws on my jeans. His name is Ming the Merciless.
Do you sing the Flas Gordon theme song to him? Cheezy Sci-Fi Fuzz
and he flies in a cardboard space ship!
I love cheezy Sci-Fi.
With the droopy sparklers?
that’s great
When I got my siamese, Emerson (who was an adult rescue), they opened the cage and he climbed onto my shoulder. He had this air about him that said, ok, where are we going now? Doesn’t really matter as long as I’m going with you.
Ming the Merciless is a fantastic Meezer name!
Ming the Merciless Meezer… I love it! Though my Decibel is the fittingest name for my little meezer-man.. Funny how cats seem to name themselves, isn’t it?
ok, that’s one of the best Meezer names I’ve heard
Bailey’s Irish Cream FUZZ
Kitten Idol FUZZ
I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything, but how does a cat get to be a champion? Is it like dogs where they have to conform to breed specs or something? Just curious…
Bailey is quite cute by the way. I love the way he looks like he’s trying to sing.
Yep, it’s the same deal. Sometimes you can see a cat show on cable and get a sense of it. The shows don’t get the same hype that the dogs do.
cats dont have to be purbred to be shown. A lot of cat shows have Household pet classes I have a few times shown one of my cats in this class. It is just a fun day. They get ribbions the judges enjoy the break from the purbreds to “play” with the household pets. The local “Cat house” always enters a couple of cats that are up for adoption it gives the exposure to the public they get lots of donations from breeders. And I have found that the breeders around here support the local rescues. So the cat show life isnt all that bad I guess it depends on the group in your area.
The first cat show I went to, I was in line behind a man who’s t-shirt read ‘Don’t mess with as man who has cats.’ or was it ‘Don’t mess with a man who loves cats.’ Anyway it was a fun day.
Teresa–I hope no one finds this offensive, but a lot of the people I’ve met at catshows have been, ummmm, colorful. But, dogshow people can be quite colorful, as well. Has anyone ever seen the movie “Best in Show?” Hysterical!
That is SOOOO true, Dee. My husband and I used to show our Maine Coons. What a hoot going to the shows. There were people whose outfits matched their cage decorations. Lot’s of great people, but a little over the top in some cases….
Watch out for the attack-cat! My cat has the same attude.
Zee ferociousness. Ahhh. Zee tiiiiny toofs. He’s either laughing, hissing, or in mid yawn. He shall be zee thunderbolt of kitten energy to your maison. Oui.
I stared at this photo for minutes..I am still not able to say anything remotely witty or cute…Bailey is the most purrfect kitten..He is lucky he is on my screen cause if he was within reach I would seriously smoosh him 🙂
OK the above is me! See I am not myself 🙂
Yeah. A kit will do that to ya.
Hi Evangeline,
How are you today? Hope your cold is better. I’m getting some better. I think mine was a bad sinus infection. Doesn’t matter what we’ve got, it makes you feel bad! Don’t you agree?
Ah but the kitties always know and give you extra snuggles when you feel bad.
Evangeline I usually don’t laugh right out loud looking at a kitty on this site but this just cracked me up. I wish I knew how to make it wall paper or a screen saver. I am out of ink so I cannot even print it. I can probably go to the archive in a month or so and print it. It would be a heck of blues chaser.
right click and save picture as or set as desktop background
Susan,
I save pictures like this all the time. I have a picture folder and save them to it. I can then use them as a screen saver or a slide show on my computer. Just put your arrow on the picture you want to save, wait for a little rectangular box to show up then put your arrow on the icon, usually the first one. It will say “save this image”, click it, using your left button on your mouse, a form should show up and ask you to name the file, if you want to, then click the “save” box.
Thank you Meezermama and Renee I’ll try it when I finish this.
Thank you both so much it worked! What a site I have met a bunch a wonderful people, seen some amazing kitties and learned how to work my puter!
Susan,
You are very welcome. That is the first thing I learned to do! Because, I seen so many cute pictures. They make such a cute slideshow too.
Evangeline, if you want to save the picture so you can print it when you do have ink in your printer, click you right mouse on the picture, then click on save picture as, write it’s name down and then click on save. You should find it under my pictures. Best of luck.
Hi EVA. Do you remember AGNETA REINITZ from romania? She is searching for you for a long long time. I’m her daughter.
If I’m right and you are the person my mom is searching for, please answer!
‘Bailey’s Eyeless Scream’-fuzz
Hee-hee-hee….that is VERY funny, Michael. I had to say it out loud before I got it… Cheers to you!
It was the booze reference, eh CatRancher? haha!
Yea, me too! Love Bailey’s
yeah, Bailey’s!
Wonderful kitty picture.
Of course it’s the BOOZE reference….geez, I’m getting a reputation on TDK… (now Dee, do NOT nominate me for the TDK site honorary “lush”) LOLOLOLOL
but it comes with a tiara…
ok then
The trick is to keep your tiara straight when you are tipsy.
Hey, CatRancher, we’ll even throw in some lemon dessert! It is you, like Dee, who loves lemon stuff, too? lol
Tiara?? I’m in for the TDK lush!
Ok, now Tiger and I are both in for the running….(it’s that tiara…we both want one!) LOL… and Renee…yeah…send some lemony dessert…or VODKA…
Clever boy!
OOO, just so cute and kissable-he needs lots of belly snuggles. I love the little tiny fangs! They are completely adorable when they’re that little and trying to be fierce.
Kate, there are cat shows just like dog shows and yes purebreed cats have sertain “specs” to be considered champion
Personaly i like my mixed breeds myself.
Bailey’s cute anyways. he seems like he is laughing or something. 🙂
I’d be a bit concerned about a kitten that young leaving the mother. Hope he still gets a little formula when he wants it. The reason is, sometimes kittens weaned improperly have bad teeth as adults. This happened to my Shadow kitty, his feral mother was killed when he was about 3 weeks old and my brother rescued him.
Four weeks is tiny; here in UK is it usually six weeks. But he looks feisty enough and ready to give ’em h*ll!
Yes, 4 weeks is too young. When Gilligan (then a stray cat) had her kittens under my carport, it took 6-7 weeks before they were all weened and eating all solid food. Shouldn’t seperate them before that if you can help it. She eventaully started chasing her own kittens away. When I took her to the vet to be spayed, she was already pregnant again (I had those kittens taken – sad but a necessity with the 6 left on my hands). Even though they were not mine, I was told that I’d be responsible. So I kept the mother, gave away 3, and took 3 to our local pound (the humane society nor saving graces would take them). Probably a sad ending for those 3. The mother is enjoying indoor life now and is about 6 years old (she probably was just under a year when she had her kittens).
I do agree thats way to young ,over the years I’ve had many cat .the only one I had ,that had a bad habit of sucking and licking on people was the one that I got at about 4weeks. has any one else had this happen to tham ?.I loved that cat but to tell the truth that licking thing drove me crazy!
I have two that I rescued at 10 days. I fed them formula mixed with baby rice cereal, only one wants to “nurse” and he only does it at 6AM when he wants me out of bed. By the way he’s almost two years now and pushing 15lbs.
My Juliette likes to catch me lying down and push her face under my chin and lick my neck while she “makes bisquits” on my collarbone. I got her from the Humane Society. Her record mistakenly showed her as 6 weeks but it turned out she wa only 4 weeks. Since she didn’t have a mother (the mother cat died giving birth) I put her on a bottle with kitten formula until she was 12 weeks old. But she is 8 years old now and still likes to nurse my neck. As long as I keep her claws short, it’s not too bad. I sure would not consider pushing her away! It takes her a while to get over a “mad mood”.
I got my cat Sylvester at 11 weeks but he too likes to do the kneading on my belly or chest. I call it the cat dance and actually sing to him sometimes when he is doing it of which he looks at me like what kind of drug are you on. 🙂
Huddy was 6 weeks old when I got him and he kneads my neck/chest/shoulders all the time, and by the sound of his purring, enjoys it immensely. I would never push him away, that’s our cuddle time!
He looks like he is auditioning for American Idol!. I don’t think they were bringing Bailey home that day – it looks as if they were just picking him up. Most breeders keep them for 8 to 12 weeks.
What do you think Simon would say? Perhaps: “That did not sound human!”
Lion King Audition FUZZZZ
Maybe it is a case of picking him out early and bringing him home later. I did that with my Gracie. She was born to a stray that my friend took in. I picked her out when she was 5 days old and visited her often until she was 10 weeks old and i could take her home. By the time I got her to my house she had that “bout time” attitude and took over. I got her companions over the next 6 months and she has never relinquished her role as Alpha cat.
That is so cute that you were able to be with your new kitty from day 5 onward. I got my first cat, Whiskers at six weeks. They say you should wait till 10 weeks but the woman whose cat had the kittens was being called back for airline training and had to get rid of the kittens right away. Because I got Whiskers at 6 weeks, she never did the kneading thing that cats do when they are happy. When I got her home, I had a box with all of my old wool sweaters in it for her to feel comfortable. I caught her a couple of times with a piece of the wool sweater in her mouth, drooling and kneading the sweater. I was told that Whiskers was now considering me as her “mother”. Strange. Whiskers grew up to be a very timid kitty who loved to sit on my chest and purr. She would never sit on my lap, always on my chest. I guess my heartbeat calmed her. Maybe it reminded her of her mother. Whiskers has been gone two years now as this past Sunday and I still miss her. I have Sylvester now and boy is he affectionate with me which I absolutely love!
What a cutie. He looks like he is either grinning or singing. I love to catch them in this pose. Most breeders won’t let them go until they are at least 8 weeks and I understand many of them wait 12 weeks. I, personally, would pay extra for any pet to stay with it’s mom for 12 weeks. When I got my Pyrenees puppy, I paid the guy extra to let him stay longer.
When I breed Maine Coons, I would keep the kittens for 12 to 14 weeks in most cases. Beside weaning, this would give me time to give them all their vaccines and socialize them. After they had their 8 week vaccines, they were allowed around the other cats. They learned to be social with other animals as well as people. I would get them used to bathing, brushing, having their claws trimmed, scratching post…anything I could to make them good pets and happy pussycats! Also gave me more time to be with them and enjoy their kitten antics. Many people would come over and visit the kittens that they had selected. I did sometimes let them go earlier, depending upon the person’s familiarity with cats and how well I knew them, but never before 10 weeks.
Big smile! Bailey is a cutie. Handsome fellow in silvery fur with black accent stripes. Smochie smoochie kiss kiss!
Say Cheese Fuzz.
Happy Face Fuzz.
Have a great day TDKers!
Here me roar! I am kitten!
Should have said “picking him out” not up.
What are his parents the champions of: Litter box usage? Catnip eating? Food consumption? I guess status and ribbons are important when acquiring a cat. It’s sad you go this cat from a breeder when there are millions of cats literally dying for a good home who look exactly like Bailey. Think about all the adorable foster and rescue cats that are posted here.
First time poster, longtime lurker, big fan of the cute factor on this site!
I appreciate the sentiment of the comment but I think it’s really unfair to rush to judgement here. Yes, there are millions of cats in need of good homes; I see a lot of them, as I am involved in a rescue organization. Yes, status and ribbons are important if you want to compete in a breed category at ACFA shows.
My aunt has seven cats; 6 rescues and one “champion” Maine Coon who competes at cat shows. Is that “sad”?
Bailey is an abolute cutie! I think he wants a treat.
Mike–I agree. Please join us more often!
I agree too, all of my cats are a mixed bag but I did grow up with Siamese cats. Although they had papers to be filed, we never did. We just liked Siamese cats.
Thanks Mike. I agree there is nothing wrong with adopting a pedigreed cat. We all know just one cat will never be enough so maybe the next one will be an adoptee. We shouldn’t make Bailey’s new owner feel like a jerk. I’ve had many dogs over the years and my Pyrenees was pedigreed because I had wanted a Pyrenees since I saw a picture of one when I was a child.
thank you mike i totally agree. my ariel was an abandoned kitten, missy is her daughter, and jazmin is a kitten from my friends cat. yes its great to adopt and rescue but no matter where the kitten comes from, they all need homes. Baily is such a ferocious baby! i had to giggle when the pic loaded. such a cutie! have a great day everyone!
people get off his back just because he didn;t adopt this kitten he needed a home too and he is a cutie
I think this comment is out of line. Like other people have said, just because they’re lucky enough to be born peedigreed doesn’t mean they don’t need and deserve loving homes. The snark was neither necessary nor appreciated, at least from this corner.
I sgree. Just because there are a lot of us who adopt cats and kittens from shelters does not make getting one with a pedigree less valid. There was another comment that said “it is still a living thing that needs a home” Very true. For every cat adopted from a shelter does not make a purebred cat not happen. ALL kitties need love and a good home, bred or adopted.
He looks like he is smiling from ear to ear. What an adorable kitten.
You will definatly need to baby proof your house now.
Are talent shows part of cat shows? If so, maybe Bailey is practicing his talent: singing! He’s adorable.
He is so cute! You just want to cuddle him up! What a cute baby! He looks so soft! Enjoy your new addition 🙂
Won’t You Come Home Bill Bailey Fuzz……
*~Belting Out a Show Tune fuzZ~*
Bailey Lugosi!
Did you read Michael’s comment above, Dee. I swear I’ve been giggling ever since I said it out loud… Bailey’s Eyeless Scream… tee-hee-hee…give me a shot in my coffee!
LOL Dee! Very creative! 🙂
That’s a good one.
Pick me! Pick me! I can smile bigger ‘n any other kitty in the litter! Adorable little guy.
So happy I found this website. FYI my adult ‘kitty’ is scheduled for viewing on Kat’s Cat of the Day this Friday. I’m so excited. She is my first ever cat…. oh, and I’m no spring chicken. LOL
That’s great news! Please remind us to check out your kitty on Friday!
Congradulations Debby. Your life will never be the same. It will be much much better with a cat to love. Please stick around and let us know how things are going. It will be interesting to see how long it takes your new kitty to get you trained.
Great news Debby, Love that site, My Wally and Alfie have both been cats of the day on that site. YAY!!
PS What’s a spring chicken or should I say who 🙂
My Chloe had me well trained within the first 2 months she came to live with me. Got her when she was 2 from the local shelter. She is now 4 and the training continues… LOL
Spring chicken – I’m no youngen. 🙂
“Howl am I supposed to live without you” seems to be the song I hear from this cutie!! Just adorable!!!
I can hear it, too…
What an adorable little man! I have a Silver-shaded American shorthair male named Hermes. These kitties have the sweetest temperament, but I can see the Scorpio in Hermes’ stubbornness (just like his Mommy). What a darling little boy.
Just toooo cute. He looks like he is going to be a lot of fun. 🙂
Don’t let my size fool you! I’m really a ferocious tiger!
Does ANYONE hear me….I need something…a toy..a lap..some sushi…now!
Had to make this one the background on my computer, he is so cute!
Here is a slideshow of celebrities who don’t eat meat and their comments on the topic. (I, like many of you, am trying to phase out meat…)
http://www.nbc11.com/slideshow/entertainment/10772988/detail.html?qs=;s=1;w=400
“You don’t eat no meat? Ok. I’ll make lamb.”
haha! I remember that line! (I’m addicted to Windex, too!)
Opa!
you making fun of us greeks …….lol
I love greeks! Have you heard of Tarpon Springs, Florida? It is notorious for having the largest percentage of Greek-Americans of any US city. It’s directly on the Gulf of Mexico–very beautiful. And greek food is amazing!
yes I have heard of the place. actually the husband of a friends daughter is from there. would love to visit there someday. I am planning a trip to greece later this year. I am so lucky to have a godfather who is an animal lover and he takes very good care of my babies while I get to travel a bit and I do the same for him
We had a southside and northside Greektown in Chicago I really missed going out to dinner there often. I learned to make some things when I moved south out of desperation.
there is a web site called http://www.eatgreektonight.com they have recipes or just ask i would help you with anything you want to make
Thanks, Athena! I love dolmathes.
I like all types of food except Sushi.
The Arni Fornou from Greek Islands in Chicago is to Die For! You can google and fine the recipe. It is braised lamb shanks and the recipe is easy!
Bless all your hearts I am so glad I have the fixings to make gyros tonight or I would be going crazy right about now!
Susan, we have 2 Greektowns in Chi-town?! I have only ever been to one, and since I didn’t drive, I haven’t the foggiest which one… The restaurant I ate at was Athena’s, and my gods, was the food amazing!
Lorelei I don’t drive either so I can’t tell you where they were exactly. Ask around or look in the phone book for Greek restaurants and match up the addresses. I had a favorite one on Belmont and Central area I would dine there once or twice a month. They printed the English version of the Greek names phoneticaly which was a big help. I still miss the flaming cheese I haven’t had that in 17 years and do miss it. The closest place to purchase the cheese in Tarpon Springs, FL. I could try the internet come to think of it. The first time I took my mom there and the waiter yelled Opaa my mom panicked she thought he was saying call 911. My mom was a meat and potatoes type of gal the only ethnic foods she like was “swiss cheese and french fries”! I just made things and served them not telling her what it was and she loved it.
Flaming cheese? Wow, I would like to see that dish and eat it too.
That’s funny. I have a story to tell about that. I was at a resturant with some other secretaries and they were picking up food for the dean. Well, they didn’t have what she wanted so they ordered Chicken soup, because the dean is a vegitarian. I said that vegitarian means they don’t eat meat, and they replied that chicken wasn’t meat. I was at a loss.
Rosie—that is classic! And what is even harder to explain to a lot of people: vegans. When I told an Australian friend (where meat rules) that my friend is vegan, he said, (I swear) “Oh, she’s from Las Vegas?” haha!
YAY!!!!
The Police will reunite to open the 49th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 11, The Recording Academy said on Tuesday, fueling speculation that the hit 1980s band is planning a reunion tour.
Excellent! I have almost all of the Police’s cassette tapes. Yes, virgina there were other recording devices besides CD’s and they were before you were born. lol. My favorite Police song is Can’t stop Losing you or is it called Losing You. I forget.
Try and explain to some what an 8 track is or the old reel to reel they will think we were born the same time as the USA!
Ha Ha! I’ve got a 78 of the Andrew’s sisters and a crank up phonograph to play it on.
I have a 78 of Woody Woodpecker, somewhere! Got it from my grandpa. I have 8 tracks, too! lol
Also have some 33’s & 45’s, cassettes and cd’s!
Ok, memory buffs, here’s one for you. When I graduated 9th grade my parents gave me a radio that played a tape in it’s side. It was the precursor to the 8 track. Looked like one, but about half the size and half as thick. They got me the only 3 tapes available. I only remember 1 and it was Hank Williams greatest hits. Played the heck out of that one! 8 tracks came out about a year or 2 after that I think. Wish I still had that. It would be worth a fortune. Anyone remember this? And yes, I am older poster!!!
That one has me stumped. I thought I had all the media from 78’s to MP3’s. I will have to admit that I am not actually old enough to remember their heydays however.
Why is it I can’t seem to part with my old cassette tapes of illegally recorded Grateful Dead concerts?
Lynn in PA,
That radio/player sorta rings a bell but I can’t put my finger on it. When I was little, I had a reord player, that was about the size of a transistor radio(fit in the palm of your hand), that also had some records with it. I think I still have it, somewhere! lol I’m not that old, I’m in the 40 club! Like Dee & them.
Renee–you do realize that the twentysomethings on this site think that 40 is ancient, don’t you? haha! Isn’t there a quote that goes, “Old is 15 years older than your current age.” When I was in my twenties, I thought 30 was SO old. Now I have no idea where the time went! I feel like I did in college. (Yes, I’m that immature…)
I’ll be 57 in March I think old is three years past rigor mortis!
Hey Lynn in PA,
I now know where I seen one of those radio/ 8track players! My husband had one by Panasonic, when we were dating!
Renee, sounds like the one I had. It may have been a Panasonic, I don’t remember. BTW, I’ll be 52 in June!
I’m 40 something and had a few 8 tracks but mostly 45’s. I also had what I think was called the close and play. You put the record in and it would play when you put the top down. Anyone remember it? I wonder if it’s still in Mom’s attic…
I am 43 and was born three months before President Kennedy died. I only remember 8 tracks and then cassettes. I was so excited when I got a cassette player in my ’78 Volkswagen Rabbit. It had Dolby noise Reduction B which was the latest in sound engineering. Now they are into Blue Ray and HD DVD.
I have an old Thomas Edison phonograph that plays the cylinder records. Last patent date on it is around 1912. And no I am not that old that I bought it new. lol It was my great grandparents. Is fun listening to it from time to time. Makes you appreciate how far audio equiptment has progessed. Also have 350 lps and talked to the “Geek Squad at Best Buy to get help on how to transfer them to cd. Funny thing was the old clerk who apeared to be around 22 did not know what a lp or album referred too but the other one who looked like he was 19 stepped in and told the other one that he would handle it. Thought it was funny the youngest of the 2 was the one able to help me. Glad I never got into 8 tracks much before jumping to cassettee. Terrible system.
Wow the Police are getting together? I saw them in concert at the Orange Bowl in Miami,it was fantastic. Of course My ears felt like they had cotton in them for a few days. “What?” I kept saying.
Very cute little singing kitten although he looks like he’s saying “Momma!”
My favorite song by the Police has always been “Can’t Stand Losing You”- Stewart Copeland is having FUN on that song!
Thanks everyone for your good wishes….I’ll explain sometime soon, just not now.
T
That is the song I like…Can’t stand losing you.
Can’t Stand Losing You
I’ve called you so many times today
And I guess it’s all true what your girlfriends say
That you don’t ever want to see me again
And your brother’s going to kill me and he’s six feet ten
I guess you’d call it cowardice
But I’m not prepared to go on like this
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t
I can’t stand losing you
I can’t stand losing you
I can’t stand losing you
I can’t stand losing you
I see you’ve sent my letters back
And my lp records and they’re all scratched
I can’t see the point in another day
When nobody listens to a word I say
You can call it lack of confidence
But to carry on living doesn’t make no sense
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I guess this is our last goodbye
And you don’t care, so I won’t cry
But you’ll be sorry when I’m dead
And all this guilt will be on your head
I guess you’d call it suicide
But I’m too full to swallow my pride
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing
I can’t, I can’t, I can’t stand losing…
We are here when you want to talk until then know good thoughts are coming your way.
What a beautiful baby!!
So much effort in that little face! I love it when kittens try to be loud (or think they will be loud) and all that comes out is a squeak.
My kitty Whiskers didn’t have a meow till she was almost one year old. She would make the motion to meow but all would come out would be a whisperery sound of “ack”.
He’s very cute & looks like he’s letting out a big cry there. I’m not much into breeders – cats or dogs. There is enough wonderful animals out there that aren’t pure breds that need & can give lots of love.
I agree, Kathy,
I’m partial to the funny-looking or not very pretty kitties, myself. I love making friends with the feral cats. No breeder cats for me, but like Mike said, every little kitty needs a home. Glad little Baily found his.
**Eagle lugging a deer head causes outage**
Mon Jan 29, 9:53 PM ET
JUNEAU, Alaska – About 10,000 Juneau residents briefly lost power after a bald eagle lugging a deer head crashed into transmission lines.
“You have to live in Alaska to have this kind of outage scenario,” said Gayle Wood, an Alaska Electric Light & Power spokeswoman. “This is the story of the overly ambitious eagle who evidently found a deer head in the landfill.”
The bird, weighed down by the deer head, apparently failed to clear the transmission lines, she said. A repair crew found the eagle dead, the deer head nearby.
The power was out for less than 45 minutes Sunday.
I think anyone living out in the country can relate to unexpected things like this. It’s the real ‘wildlife’.
I’ll agree with that. I get all excited when I see a new rapter in the field behind my house. The people in my office just look at me.
Has anyone’s pet received acupuncture?
**Vets turn to acupuncture for ailing pets**
By MARCUS WOHLSEN, Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO – When Ann Dey’s dog had a stroke in July, one side of his face became paralyzed so severely he couldn’t blink. She knew she needed to do something before the 13-year-old pug, Jimmy, lost his eye to infection.
“I was open to anything that would help,” Dey said.
At Pets Unlimited, a nonprofit animal hospital that was opening the city’s first all-holistic veterinary medical clinic on Monday, Jimmy received acupuncture for a month. Now, his face is fine.
As alternative approaches like acupuncture and herbal remedies have moved further into the mainstream for humans, veterinarians have made those same techniques increasingly available for pets.
Animal care officials say pet owners have been convinced by their own positive experiences that their pets should also enjoy the benefits of alternative techniques.
“Seeing is believing,” said Sally Wortman, Pets Unlimited’s hospital administrator, standing near a row of scented candles on the new clinic’s reception desk.
A Japanese fountain, soft lights and walls painted in soothing tones of sage, ochre and salmon augment the calming atmosphere of the clinic, which is one floor down from the city’s only 24-hour-a-day emergency room for pets.
The renovations have a therapeutic effect on pets, Wortman said, but added that it was just as important to create a setting where owners also feel relaxed.
“The practitioner can only help the animal through the person,” she said.
Still, the push for the new treatments _ also known as holistic or complementary medicine _ has not come so much from vets, whose medical training is still steeped in the rigors of the Western scientific tradition.
“It’s been more consumer-driven,” said Joe O’Hehir, executive director of Pets Unlimited.
Marilyn Chartrand of Alameda is one of those consumers.
“I do holistic things for my body. So I thought, how exciting that they’re doing this for animals,” said Chartrand, who adopted a cat from Pets Unlimited.
Chartrand said she treats her cat with aromatherapy when she gets sick, offering her different scents to inhale. “She knows which ones her system needs,” Chartrand said.
That holistic medicine for animals would catch on in San Francisco, which also ushered in the no-kill movement in animal shelters in the 1990s, comes as little surprise. But the field is spreading.
The Maryland-based American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association claims more than 800 members from Florida to Alaska. Chartrand learned about an alternative treatment called therapeutic touch from her sister, a veterinarian who uses the technique on horses in Kansas.
Still, despite broadening acceptance, alternative medicine for animals faces continued skepticism. The American Veterinary Medical Association said in recent guidelines on alternative medical techniques for animals that the organization is “open to their consideration.”
But it stressed that the quality of research into different methods varies, saying some practices “may differ from current scientific knowledge.”
Beth Schneider, an animal acupuncturist for Pets Unlimited, said one positive experience with alternative techniques can be enough to convince doubters.
“They see how beneficial it is to the animal,” she said. “And they want to start going to acupuncturists themselves.”
Thanks for sharing this article Dee. I am not surprised that they would do acupuncture on an animal. Only in SF Bay Area would they try something like this. My Mom believes in holistic medicine more and more. She actually went out and studied all the natural medicines in plants. She is one person I know I would be safe with if we ever got lost in the woods.
It amuses me that so many of our modern medicines have been used for years by Native Americans, Indians in the Rainforest and the Asian people.
Hey you guys, my Wally received acupuncture. He was so relaxed it was amazing to see him with all those needles sticking out him..Sorry to day I couldn’t keep it up financially..But it really seemed to have made a difference.
That is so cool, Evangeline! I know friend who say it has really helped them with pain.
Suprisingly enough, they do offer this here in San Antonio, TX. Although it isn’t as popular as it could be.
I live in the city where chiropractic was founded — Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa….because of that there are a lot of alternative therapies and healing treatments available here. I have received acupuncture (in my nose and feet) to help me quit smoking… There are chiropractic veternarians here that also use acupuncture and other homeopathic remedies to treat animals…
Look ma, no cavities!
Sparkey little fellow!
He looks very tickled about something. What an adorable little stripey. *hugs and cuddles bailey*
How cute!

interesting article from the LA Times a couple weeks ago–the new “Prozac Nation” of pets…
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-animalmeds10jan10,0,792274.story?coll=la-home-headlines
My Socks takes amytriptaline (probably not spelled right). It’s like Prozac. Before my Whitey died he terrorized her to the point that she was peeing on top of the counter to keep from gettting trapped in the litterbox. She also had many urinary tract infections from not peeing or drinking water at all. I separated the 2 of them when I was not there but things got so bad I was worried if someone let her out of the bedroom and we left the house he would kill her. Unfortunately, the Prozac type drugs didn’t work for Whitey. The vet said he appeared to have some type of degenerative brain disease. I finally had to have him euthanized last spring just a few weeks after I lost Lil Hunney. It just about did me in. But it was him or Socks and he wasn’t going to get better. Hurray for the people who thought to give cats prozac. It’s taking Socks a while to get over the hell her life was but the drugs really help.
So sorry. That’s a very sad and emotional story. You are very brave and did the right thing. The wellbeing and health of our kits (and ourselves) is very important. Sometimes we have to make these tough decisions.
The vet decided to put my cat, Ginger, on valium. She was afraid of everyone and everything and didn’t bond with anyone in the house but me. She would wait for me under my bed if I was out. She was just a very nervous cat.
I gave her the valium for a few weeks, but it didn’t seem to make a difference, so I stopped it.

Bailey is a feisty little one! What a beautiful boy!
“A voice crying in the wilderness” FUZZ
Michael, I’m so jealous! How do you ALWAYS have the right line on time? I always get the right line too–it just always comes 5 minutes after it’s too late!
did you guys read/hear about the Powerball winners? Very sweet…
http://www.kbcitv.com/news/local/5402796.html
What I love about this is that they will be able to enjoy life without having to worry and they will be able to help their sons who have just lost their jobs. I play the CA Lottery with the idea that if I win, I will give some to my parents, sister, and niece and nephew. Of course half goes to my husband. I just love the idea of being able to share it with my family.
and your TDK family?? nyuk, nyuk, nyuk
We all have an agreement in our family, if one wins they pay off the houses of the rest.
When I win (yes, I said ‘when’ – it’s gonna happen) EVERYbody wins!!!
Looggit dat widdle face! *pinches the little cutie’s cheeks*
That’s a tiny lion in training!
Now that’s a cutie! His mew must be loud…He must be a little handful. 🙂
Has anyone ever heard of Christian the Lion? I never have–his life parallels Kimba the White Lion’s (all of us children of the 60’s and 70’s remember Kimba!). His very sweet story is at this link–and how great is that quote at the bottom of the page?
http://www.kimbawlion.com/christian.htm
wow that was a great story. selling a lion in a department store? i had to read that more then once. im glad he got to be a “real” lion but still had the bond with his people.
Great story! Loved Born Free, too. One of my favorite stories of all time.
That was a great movie. (My since-departed uncle, a big jokster, would always sing, “Born Free, my father’s a doctor…”) haha!
Cried and cried!!
Too true. That quote really makes you think. We are so alike that they can use animals to test for us, but don’t use the reverse process to stop testing. What makes humans different are our abilities to feel empathy.
Saw this quote on cat poem website:
“I never married because there was no need. I have three pets at home which answer the same purpose as a husband. I have a dog which growls every morning, a parrot which swears all afternoon and a cat that comes home late at night.” – Marie Corelli
how funny!
Nice quote! How true!!
This one I especially love…brings tears to my eyes…
“My Best Friend
Each morning I awake,
my best friend beside me,
his eyes are wide with love,
and my heart sores again.
As I go through my day,
expectations on me,
my friend is always near,
to soothe my troubled mind.
When nighttime descends on us,
and the world is through with me,
at last I can meditate,
and give loving thanks for him.
My friend is very special,
a truly amazing soul,
he’s very soft and gentle,
for he’s my cat, after all!”
aww how sweet! Thanks Karin 🙂
That is very sweet. I must admit that I don’t know what it’s like to wake each morning with my best friend beside me. I awake with the three of them wildly chasing each other around the room–and apparently not noticing or caring that I’m on the bed!
I had that situation when I had Sadie with Sylvester. Sadie was a 24/7 energizer kitty so much so that I had to give her back to the adoption agency. Plus she was a frustrated cat. She needed to be with someone who could give her the attention she needed and where she could go outside that was safe (like a fenced in patio).
Sylvester does like to wake me up any time between 5-5:30am every day to let me know it is time to get up and either play or be fed. No chance at sleeping in on the weekends as it is too late to change his feeding times. Oh well. He is such a fun and loving kitty that I guess it isn’t the end of the world.
How about the 3 am serenades……………Lady Jane decided late night singing was fun 🙂
Now that is too funny Brandi Lee! I can just imagine waking up to a cat meowing away. Not funny at 3am though.
Petey hs a new favorite sleeping postion he sits on my pillow then drapes his body around my neck ending up with head under my chin (s) and purrs so loud that I cannot fall asleep till he does.
That’s so nice, Susan. I wonder if he can tell you are not feeling well.
Susan, you’re not well?
I just have alot of health issues that cause pain I take three tylonol/codiene and three muscle relaxers a day and I haven’t been without pain in twenty five years. The meds take the edge off that is all. I usually can block it out and not let it get me down but for some reason last week I was in terrible pain and not able to sleep more than three or four hours a night. Oh well, it could be worse and I am grateful for what I can do and I try to look at it this way but sometimes…. Thank you for asking.
Oh wow! I am so sorry that you are in so much pain.
I sympathize with you Susan. I live with pain , too.
I try and remember just because I am in pain I don’t have to be one. I was going to be a wise butt and say I don’t live with pain I am not married but that seemed too nasty!
Funny, Susan! lol
Susan, I can’t help your pain, but wish you less discomfort and more sleep. Fell better soon.
Petey luvs Susan.
I love it when they cuddle up against you. My cat Whiskers use to fall asleep on my chest at night and I would sometimes wake up her and I being cheek to cheek. She would be fast asleep doing the kitty dance and I would listen to her breathing waiting for her to awaken. This didn’t happen very often but when it did I loved it.
I had a cat about 12 years ago named Tom that did almost the same thing. He would sleep at my head with his cheek on mine. I would just lay there and relax to his purring til we both went to sleep. I got so used to him being there that when I would go away overnight on vacation, I had a stuffed cat that I would wrap around my head with his head on my cheek. The animal was a orange and white stuffed tabby just like my Tom. He and his sister Sam went to the rainbow bridge 12 years ago and my Lucky and Lady don’t do this. I do miss it. I envy you and Petey, Susan. Enjoy it for as long as it lasts, hopefully forever.
I’ll give him an extra snuggle for you tonight Lynn.
Same here Lynn. My current kitty, Sylvester doesn’t do it either. He likes to sleep either at the end of the bed or in between my legs. He always makes sure he is leaning against me or touching me before I fall asleep. He sometimes likes to go under the covers and sit between my arm and my side but that is very rare and when does do it, it is only for a few very brief minutes. So susan enjoy your kitty that does the cuddling while you can and I hope your pain is lessened when he cuddles with you.
When I first got my siamese-Dixie- she liked to sleep ON my head. I remember the 2-3rd nite I had her I woke up because I could not breathe. She was sleeping on my face. We have since come to a comprimise, she sleeps next to my head and I don’t chase her off the bed. Now that she is 15 she sits and stairs at me untill I go to bed. With in minutes, she is there. If I am not awake she will now lick my hand untill I open the covers for her to crawl in- Old bones need the warmth.
That is so cute MerD! My first experience with cats was when my Dad married his second wife (first one passed away when I was 9) and she had two Siamese cats. I was totally enamored with them. I took over the responsibility of feeding, giving them fresh water and brushing them that one of them decided that she would sleep with me. Fiesta was her name. She was a Seal Pt with these incredible deep azure blue eyes. Look liked pools of deepest blue water (like you would see at Lake Tahoe, California). Fiesta would always sleep in between my arm and side and would lay her head across my neck. She would purr so loud that I would usually fall asleep to her purring. It was the best sound in the world to me and she was so comforting.
Hello Susan. Sorry to hear about the pain. Take a look at the book “The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook” by Clair Davies, Amber Davies, and David G. Simons. It’s $20. It has helped me a lot.
**Churchill Downs would welcome Barbaro**
Associated Press
Posted: 2 hours ago
KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. (AP) – Barbaro’s final resting place could be just a few hundred yards from the scene of his greatest triumph in the Kentucky Derby.
Officials at the Kentucky Derby Museum, located on the grounds of Churchill Downs, said Tuesday they’d be “honored” if Barbaro were buried in a garden along with four other Derby winners.
“We’ve expressed to them how honored we’d be to have Barbaro here,” Lynn Ashton, executive director of the museum, said. “We feel like we’re bringing horses back to be honored.”
The grave sites of Derby winners Sunny’s Halo (1983), Carry Back (1961), Swaps (1955) and Brokers Tip (1933) are located outside on the museum grounds.
Owners Gretchen and Roy Jackson said Monday a final decision on where Barbaro would be buried had not been made. Another possibility could be the Jacksons’ Lael Farm, just a few miles away from the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center.
The Jacksons did not immediately return phone calls Tuesday morning.
Barbaro was euthanized Monday after complications from his gruesome breakdown at last year’s Preakness, ending an eight-month ordeal that made him even more of a hero than he was as an undefeated Derby winner.
Susan in Ga: Do you have Thomas’ email address? I thought I did, but I don’t.
Thomas–if you’re reading this, please post your email–but in the manner that people on this site have suggested.
Sorry Dee I don’t have Thomas’ email address hopefully he will answer you the way you suggested.
Thanks, Susan—he posted it below.
This is such a sweet story–made me cry. I get the feeling that those of you on this site who have children and grandchildren have raised them to be very tender-hearted–just like the little boy in this story.
**Food for Thought**
By Carol McAdoo Rehme
Heart failure had robbed her of her husband and now macular degeneration was stealing her eyesight and osteoporosis was plundering her body.
I worried about my elderly neighbor’s loneliness and her diet. Lack of appetite and motivation kept Gwen from cooking. More than a quiet street separated the two of us. Her life had been derailed while mine was a locomotive on a fast track as I raised a house full of kids and maintained a demanding time schedule to match. So I turned to Koy, our little redheaded caboose, for help.
“Do you think you can carry these muffins over to Mrs. Potter’s?”
“I fink I can,” he nodded.
With me watching from our front door and Gwen waiting at hers, three-year-old Koy cautiously crossed the street, carrying the plate of fragrant goodies. And so began their long relationship.
“I fink Grandma Potter needs me,” he would say. Or, “Don’t you fink Grandma Potter wants some of those cookies?” And, “I fink Grandma Potter likes cupcakes.” Then off he would go – thoughtfully bearing a plate of this or a zip-locked bag of that – always taking time to settle in for a nice little talk. Well, Koy talked; Gwen listened. A lonely last child; a lonesome lost widow.
Those regular visits continued through the years, sometimes at her invitation and other times at his instigation. As his age, sensitivity, and care-giving expertise grew, Koy did more than take food. He ran her errands, did light chores, and drove her to doctor appointments. On prom night, he and his date even dashed through the rain . . . to model their finery before an admiring Grandma Potter.
Finally, as we stood – arm-in-arm – in the street waving Koy off to college, Gwen turned to me.
“I’m certainly going to miss that young man and his visits. You know, when he was little, he rarely came empty-handed.”
I nodded agreement, remembering all the baking I used to do.
“But, when you didn’t send something, our little Koy must have raided the pantry.” She winked. “No matter what, he always took good care of me.”
“What do you mean?”
“Over he would come, his pocket filled with raisins, pretzels, popcorn, or even Cheerios. Whatever he could scavenge.”
I laughed in motherly embarrassment. “Oh, good grief.” I could just imagine grubby little boy hands and fists full of crumbs. “What did you do?”
“Why, I got out a serving plate,” she smiled at the memory. “I watched as he proudly piled his offerings on the kitchen table. Then . . . well . . . then the two of us sat down and ate them – pocket lint and all.”
What a sweet story! Children can really amaze us.

Sorry to hear you were having a rough day yesterday. Here is hoping today is a better one. It is “hump day” and it is down hill from here to Friday.
Why don’t we know more about Woody?
**Predicting Groundhog Uses Stomach, Female Intuition**
POSTED: 10:51 am PST January 30, 2007
HOWELL, Mich. — Woody has something the nation’s other prognosticating groundhogs don’t.
Female intuition.
Other groundhogs — Gen. Beauregard Lee in Georgia, Sir Walter Wally in North Carolina and, of course, Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania — might be more established, but Woody has a pretty good track record.
She has correctly predicted when spring would arrive six out of eight years.
Why is she so successful?
She relies on her stomach, said Richard Grant, executive director of the Howell Conference and Nature Center. Grant said groundhogs eat a lot before the winter, but don’t consume much during the colder months.
So, on Friday, if Woody comes out of her home, eats any of the food placed in front of her — such as bananas and peanuts — and stays out for at least 30 seconds, then spring is coming soon. If not, we’re in for another six weeks of winter.
Grant said science proves that Woody’s sex is an advantage. Female groundhogs “have a whole lot more responsibility,” he said, including motherhood. “What do male groundhogs do? They mate … and then they get hit by cars.”
Throw in some chocolate with the bananas and peanuts and I’ll predict anything you want.
Hey just give me the chocolate and will predict anything you want. LOL!
How cool is this?
**Boy’s Bubble Wrap Invention Helps Amputees**
POSTED: 7:49 pm PST January 29, 2007
NEW YORK — You can do a lot with Bubble Wrap.
A Tennessee teenager has used it to fashion an inexpensive cosmetic covering for artificial limbs. Grayson Rosenberger said his inspiration was his mom, a double amputee who has a ministry that provides artificial limbs to Third World countries.
The 15-year-old Nashville youngster said he used a heat gun to mold Bubble Wrap around a prosthetic limb, providing muscle-like tone and shape to the steel rod attached to a foot. He said it rivals other coverings that cost more than $1,000.
Rosenberger’s invention was his entry in the first-ever Bubble Wrap Competition for Young Inventors, conducted by Bubble Wrap creator Sealed Air Corporation. He won the grand prize: a $10,000 savings bond.
Now that is a sharp kid. I hope he grows up to be a vet or a dr.
Dee- I don’t always respond to your “newsy” or humorous posts, but I read ’em all. I really appreciate the service you provide; I am in information junkie, and would never have found most of the things you put up here.
Too cute!
Oh, this kitteh just SLAYS me!
“Happiness is like a cat sleeping on your lap. You can’t force it to come to you and you can’t force it to stay with you. –Pierre Foglia”
How true! How are you today Dee?
I’m glad everyone liked my poem, AN ANGEL’S KISS, the other day. I seen where you and Kittypaw were saying something about cross stitching, some cat saying. Do you do crafts?
I do all sorts of crafts, cross stitching is one of them.
Renee—sadly, I am about as “un-crafty” as they get. I’ve always admired people who are crafty, like you. My mother has always been crafty and creative–cross stitching, hand-making decorative pillows, picture frames, curtains etc.—all of that Better Homes and Gardens stuff that I admire. None of that rubbed off on me…
I do a little of everything. I can sew,cross-stitch, plastic canvas, paint plaster figurines and all sorts of christmas ornaments. I even made me a christmas kitty angel a few years back, that I put on my tree. I make kitty ornaments also. My tree is decorated in kitty cats and snowmen ornaments! I have one, that I would like to make, it is a 3 inch tall kitten angel. It is similar to cross-stitching. It is so cute. I have several designs for kitten magnets, too. That includes some for meezers and other kitties.
I crop till I drop!
Renee, my sister got 99% of the creativeness in my family. She owns a marketing agency. As far as creativity I am the typical accountant. I was a complete bust helping Girl Scouts with their projects. The most inept 9 year old could do better than me. Grin.
This quote is so true!

AWW! Bailey is just too cute. I love the picture. That pose is adorable.
For those of us who are addicted; don’t forget to watch American Idol tonight!
Great photo! He is a little tiger 🙂
Did anyone see the story about Lazarus? He is the cat who came back from the dead, poor kitty. He survived his ordeal and is now up for adoption. Here is his story if you would like to read it:

Who is the chocolate cake lover here? (or who isn’t?) I think I’m tackling this one this weekend…
http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/detail.aspx?ID=138676
That is one rich cake, Dee. I think I just got glazed over by reading the ingredients! lol
Although, I did fix a cheesecake for my hubby, the other day. I fixed a big pot of Chicken vegetable soup, yesterday.
mmmm, cheesecake. Cheesecake always remind me of the Golden Girls—one of my favorite sitcoms.
Dee, I volunteer to be your taste tester if you need one. 🙂
Bailey is an adorable kitten. I do agree, however, with those above who wish you had instead adopted a cat from a rescue shelter. People here are saying that “every kitty needs a home,” but if people didn’t financially support cat breeders, they wouldn’t be out there breeding more and more cats to rob homes from the ones waiting patiently in shelters. Please don’t support these people who are, to put it bluntly, cashing in in an already-overcrowded market.
Emily, I agree that there are alot of kittens needing homes in rescue shelters. But lets not deprive others of their hobby or their lively hood, whichever the case may be. Everyone has a right to their opinion and choices are made of free will. Mine is to get my kittys from rescue shelters, etc. But I respect the right of others to do as they wish. Just another side of the story from me.
You’d be dense not to feel differently if you had worked in both pet stores and animal shelters, as I have. You really have no idea just how many unwanted cats are out there until you’re on the inside of it. How many I get attached to, just to see them put down. Then to hear yet another acquaintance brag about their new Bengal. It makes me sick. People should simply not be allowed to breed cats and make money from the kittens when nearly 10 million animals are euthanized in America each year.
I don’t think you should punish cat breeders for irresponsible cat owners. You should put the blame where it belongs – on people who do not spay or neuter their cats.
I do work at a shelter, and I don’t feel differently. I really don’t like your self-righteous and high-and-mighty tone here, honey. Adopting from a shelter is a wonderful thing, but it’s not this kitten’s fault he was born to a breeder, and he needs love just as much as any shelter cat. Now get down off your high horse.
My critters find me. Two of my adoptees are purebred. A persian cat I gave my daughter because his first mommy got a transfer and couldn’t keep him and a pomeranian pup who was purchased from a pet store another daughter worked in. He was bought as a second choice by a lady who canceled her credit card purchase because she didn’t get the dog she wanted first and returned him too old to be adopted again. Over a decade later both are spoiled and adored.
I have a very evil vet and his office staff sees “sucker” written on our foreheads and their mantra is “have we got a cat for you!”
Love this sweet little guy’s little baby toofers, lol! Looks like he’s saying “heyyyy, pick me!”.
lil tiny roar!! FUZZ
Bailey could be singing, “If I Were the King Of the Forest.” Not that I’m saying he looks cowardly…
American Shorthairs are the most wonderful, my two Lilly and Jimmy have not made it to be TDK but I keep hoping, they charm, squek, and cuddle with the best of them and are amazingly healthy and long-lived. They have tiny meows which are too cute and the chubby cheeks and round eyes are too cute.
“MEOW” or if I translate that : “Yay! I’m going to have a home!”

how cute!
Yay! I was looking for the poem from you, Ivory Bill! As usual, you’ve come up with a first rate cute one! (Just as cute as the cat!)
I love your poems Bill! You are so creative. 🙂
The pic is hilarious, it made me giggle. 😀 And Bailey is a beautiful boy. I love his markings and those big paws.
he’s super cute! but ribbons or not, all kitties are winners and deserve furrever homes 🙂
This is the funniest picture I’ve seen in awhile! I love Bailey’s little teethes! And such sweet little ears!
This little guy is too, too, too cute! And so handsome with his gray stripes.
Every kitten needs to be loved, no matter where he or she comes from.
BLESSINGS
WOW
OMG!!! he is just a little fuzz ball with a tounge!! You are so lucky to have him!
Looks like this little one is giving a song recital and belting out an aria. Cute
Hey there everybody,
Just to let you know, between you TKDer’s and a couple people on Catster, we’ve gotten 200$ so far. I know that there are at least 3 more people mailing in there donations. But 200$!! Woo hoo! That’s incredible, that’s almost enough to cover Bo’s entire vet bill! Right now we’re going to try to work on getting people to help us get Bo to Pennsylvania. He is still at the vet’s office, apparantly the stitches are pulling on the skin and tearing through it, and if Bo messes with it and pulls out the stitches, they will have to re-do his surgery. Which means more recovery time, hopefully he’ll be better soon. He has certainly had his share of battles. He is still in good spirits though, still purring the day away and getting attention from anybody who passes his cage. Thank you again for all of your kindness and generousity.
~Brittany
Brittany,
So glad things are working out for Bo. I hope his leg heals and he gets to live a good life now. Best wishes for a happy & healthy life in his new home.
Thanks for the update, Brittany! Keep us informed on Bo’s progress. Glad that the TDKers have pulled through for him. Purrs to you both.
That is great news about Bo getting a home! I hope he recovers quickly. I am just waiting for money to transfer over from my checking to my paypal and you will have another donation. Thank you for the update brittany.
Brittany–that is fantastic news! I wonder if Bo realizes how much he is loved. Thank you for keeping us on top of things.
That is great news that many people have donated for Bo’s cause. I hope he continues to mend quickly and goes to his forever home soon. Lots of kisses and belly rubs to him.
Lovely little kitten…but doesnt look any different from a stray really. I think the comments from people regarding the fact that you decided to take a pedigree cat rather than a stray are a bit much….what difference does it really make? I have 2 cats who were from rescue centres and I recently bought a Ragdoll kitten. The reason I bought this particular breed wasnt as a status symbol, it was because I wanted a cat that I could know what its temperament was like and that I would get a cat that would love to be held and cuddled by my children. As I sit here typing I have Belle sitting between my arms purring away. With pedigree cats…you know more or less what you will get. With moggies and ferals you run the risk of getting a demon of a pet .lol
I had a little ragdoll that I rescued from someone’s garage. She lived to be almost 20 years and was the sweetest thing ever. They are called ragdolls because if you hold them between both hands on their backs they are very relaxed. They are also very sweet in temperament, very affectionate and calm of disposition. If I had to choose a pet, I would love another ragdoll. Now I have an 18 year old Himalayan. Big difference in temperament, but she is also very sweet, but more independent and very vocal. She owns us in this house, she tells us when to go to bed and when to get up, and when she wants to eat or needs fresh water, and when she wants her litter box cleaned. She has learned to say something that sounds like “hellooooo” if I don’t respond to her meowing in the morning.
I also take care of 4 little ferals from the same family, the parents and two sibblings 1 year apart. The oldest sibling is almost two years old and a tabby with the sweetest disposition you could ever wish for. The younger one is a mixture of black and orange, with a cross of orange on her face that is very unusual. She has no white on her at all.
I shared because I thought you may want to hear this. Tell me if you will, what a moggie is? Thanks.
I had a rather off-day today, but he just made everything right 🙂
