I love store cats. I always say that it says a lot about a person if they love animals, about their character. WHen I walk into a store, and see a fur ball, it says a lot about the owners and I know I like them.

…Rather NOT see them in a resturaunt though

Yeah, that would make me think they have a rodent problem.

Cute article. Particularly liked the paragraph below:

Office Assistant: Cats seem to be drawn to computer keyboards, monitors, scanners, copiers and fax machines, making the back office an ideal working environment. Their typing skills are fairly lame, but their ability to stop someone from typing is quite good, thus helping people avoid carpel tunnel syndrome.

There was a store kitty in our small town bookstore years ago and it just felt like going home..everytime we went in to shop! I think it says alot about the shopowners’ too. 😀

I know several people who work in food service, both as chefs and as waiters. Almost all restaurants (expensive ones, cheap ones, clean-looking ones) have some sort of rodent or pest problem. It’s almost impossible not to. It’s like our own kitchens only with 50 times more food, and lots more places for bugs to hide.

A restaurant with a cat or two might have less of a rodent infestation, but it probably wouldn’t be able to keep fresh tuna on hand.

Good point Cheetah. I’ve been a bartender for 14 years, and it’s true, minimal where I worked, but true.

It would have been fun to have a fur ball around that place.

Huddy’s brother Thumper is an auto-shop kitty. He sits on the counter and greets everybody who comes through the door. Everybody loves him, because he’s of such a sweet temperament. His ‘person’ takes him to work everyday, and he goes home to a nice house every night. For the record, he looks like a black and white version of Huddy, even down to the stumpy tail.
