Here’s a recipe from Cooks Illustrated that sounds really yummy!

    RECIPE: Strawberry Milkshakes

“We set out to create the ultimate milkshake and found that it takes more than just ice cream and milk. The secret to a perfect, thick, creamy milkshake? Whole milk and fresh strawberries, along with strawberry ice cream and sugar, make a difference, but it’s the blending method that really matters: Pulse the mixture in the blender until the ice cream begins to break down before blending on high until smooth and frothy. This ensures that the ice cream is evenly incorporated into the milk.”

    Serves 4

1 1/2 pints strawberry ice cream

    1 cup whole milk

    1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup fresh strawberries (or frozen)

Pulse all of the ingredients in a blender until the ice cream begins to break down, about 5 pulses, then blend on high until completely smooth.

I love the addition of the Strawberries…It seems as though commercial strawberry ice cream never has enough fruit in it. Mmmmmm! This sounds like a good plan for tonights after dinner dessert n’ movie night! Thanks Linda!

Karenopa, if you want lots of strawberries, try Bluebell’s frozen strawberry yogurt. It is loaded with lots of big strawberries and tastes so good. My hubby complains it has too many strawberries! lol

You’ll find in the ice cream section.

Whole milk – what’s that? 🙂 We’ve been using skim for so long that whole milk seems like cream to me!

Has anybody tried the Blue Bell blueberry cobbler ice cream? I really like blueberries but I wasn’t sure if I would like this. Is there a TDK consumer review?
