I recall reading about this guy when his granddaughter died. Nothing like being a millionaire already and then winning the money again. Didn’t he have enough money with being worth $17 million? I don’t feel sorry for him as it seems he doesn’t have the common sense. With money comes responsibilities. I heard that you should do three things when you win a big amount of money…move, change your cell phone number and meet with a tax attorney and financial consultant.

If I ever won the lottery, I would hire a tax attorney and a fincancial consultant and have them pick up the check for me and remain anonymous.

That’s about the only way I think you could keep some semblance of your life in order

Exactly what I would do Instinct. some woman in my area won the $93 million Calif lotto here and they published her name, what she does for work and where it was won. Alameda isn’t a very large area and they can find her real quickly. The place that she bought it from has her picture on their security camera and was willing to let the news broadcast it. Fortunately the Lotto people stepped in and said that was a privacy issue. Wow!

There was a city bus driver here who won $40 million a few years back. She tried so hard to stay anonymous but eventually it got out.

She picked up her check in Austin and went on a trip. When she got back home people were CAMPING OUT on her lawn to ask her for money……sad
