    Sikandar,
Sometimes you can find them for less on ebay, I’ve seen them as low as $32 but most often they are priced higher than Amazon has them for. FYI I live in White Hall, WV USA, my Wife thinks by your name you may live in India. Is that correct, only if you wish to share your location.
Anyway, I hope things look up for you soon so you can again have a cat in your life.

Yes! She has managed the office of the local Lung Doctor for 22 years. Prasad Devabhaktuni from Guntur. Actually she managed not only his office but his life. Ultimately, he and his wife became US citizens. Before that she became friendly with the Indian consulate as his passport would needed to be renewed at the last minute. Anyway, she developed an interest in the Indian culture and can also figure out where people from India were born by their name. Before we moved to WV she worked for 7 years in Sleepy Eye, MN where the surgeon was Krishna Muthy from Madras. She reads a lot, learns quickly, and remembers everything! No kidding!
We are retired now and the Dr. is on his own. Every day is a vacation day for us. Lots of time to enjoy the cats!

When I first asked my Wife about your name she said that by your last name you were a sikh. You have a very interesting pedigree. Prasad used to say the Anglo-Indians were the most beautiful.

thanks 🙂 well, i dunno, my mix race present a challenge. i learned alot from it, but it can also present alot of trouble, especially with some behaviorial and cultural weaknesses from both east and west. but nothing i can do about it, except embrace my roots. i love sticking to my desi roots, and the discpline and strict morals that came from it.

Well, whatever one does it should be done well! I guess we have gotten off topic about as far as possible, but learning about others with whom you share common interests is interesting and something this world needs more of. Thanks for sharing!

We used to have one of the original Litter-Maid boxes. It was the smaller one and with two big cats it was always jamming up. We kept another standard box in use too because at first the cats would play with the Litter-Maid box but then would run when it went off. After they got used to it, they would sit in the room just to jump in/out and then wait for it to go off. The waste containers are expensive and before we got rid of it could not find them anywhere and had to order online. There is still a partial box sitting in the basement.
The Litter Robot looks great, but wow the price!

I had the same problem with the littermaids. I made a lot of changes to them like putting a bar in front of the rake to keep the cats from peeing on it. Mounting the LM on a plastic bin and fashion a chute that would direct the waste to a big plastic bag in the bin. This work well for waste I could go up to 10 days and then the waste was in a plastic bag. But, I still had to deal with the clogging of the rake. I suspect, and by the post I read elsewhere all litter boxes with a rake have this same problem, The Simply clean has no rake and just doesn’t clog. The only attention I have to pay to it is empty the bin every 2nd or 3rd day and ad litter. It doesn’t use much litter, not like the maid!
I know I may sound like an ad for Petsafe Simply clean, but I’m just a cat lover with a solution to a problem we all face. I’m so happy with the simply clean I would like every body who has ever thought about an automatic litter box to try it. If there are any problems the company is incredibly easy to deal with.

By the way… I have had my Cat Genie litterbox for 4 years now, and the only thing I can imagine would be better would be teaching all the cats to use the toilet! Adding substrate and new sanitizer cartridges are the only consumables. An occasional wipedown on the outside with a wet wipe, and cleaning the mineralization off the sensor are the only other maintenance tasks, done as needed. LOVE IT.

I think the Cat Genie is a good and interesting idea. I have considered it but the initial cash outlay always seemed to turn me off (I’m a cheap Scotsman). But with our current 3 cats we have to keep the bathroom door closed as they will attack the toilet tissue. Unwind the roll and shred the paper. Maybe they are trying to tell me they want a “Cat Genie”!

Wow, the comments are so old. Hope I didn’t bother you guys. I have been using automatic feeders for several years, and they have been working great. Now, I think it would be much better for us to get ourselves an automatic feeder. It would be much more convenient for us to feed our cats this way. Not to mention, you can control the diet and amount of food intake. If your cats have diabetes or similar conditions, getting an automatic feeder will help to improve their health a lot. You check all the important factors before buying it too. Cheers.

Some of the posts are old ones, we keep them up because people are always coming here and looking for answers to questions they have with their cats and kittens.

I haven’t used any self cleaning litter boxes, so I can’t weigh in on this subject. Maybe others here have, and will give you some input. I think some here have used the water fountains and self feeders though.

Littermaid does not work well, don’t get that. I use “Simply Clean”. They work well. The only problem with them is the motors are not well maid and will die in about a year. You can extend the life of the motors substantially by connecting it to a timer set to run 30 minutes out of each hour. Timers can be purchased inexpensively and are really worth it. I have two simply cleans both on timers for 3 cats. You can purchase one from Amazon for $72.99.

Yeh I also have thi, but let me tell you about my story, I was so tired of cleaning boxes of my cats and didn’t have enough time to clean myself. After then, I bought Self Cleaning Cat Litter Box v2.0, and it helped me a lot. In v2.0, some issues remained their. After that, I found updation of Self Cleaning Cat Litter-Robot III, (the product of https://www.catevolution.co.nz/), its best features helped me a lot and there was no worry about my pets. if you are still facing issues in v2.0 and want to update your pet accessories, you may visit the site.
