In everyone else’s opinion where is the best place for my little 5 week old kitten to sleep. Would she be better in a little kennel in our room with us? Or closed in a bathroom with a blanket and box fort and some toys? My ideal would be for her to sleep in the bed with us…but she is far to excitable and small…i fear she’d fall off and get into mischief in our room. The kennel thing makes me sad as I can see her paws reach through and she cries ervery so often. And with the bathroom I feel bad cause I wouldn’t be able to hear her if she started crying. What is the best thing to do?

There is really no reason to close her off in a bathroom or kennel if she has the run of the house in the day. If you have a bed with her blankets and toys, you could put it in your room with you on the floor if you are afraid of her falling and hurting herself. Since she is 5 weeks old, are you bottle feeding her? She will find her way to your bed one way or another, (cats always do) and she will pick her spot. She is probably pretty small only being 5 weeks old, the only problem with her being in your bed is that someone rolls over on her while sleeping and not know it. If you have a 2 story house, like I do, I put the kitten in his bed and go off upstairs. Once they are old enough (usually more than 5 weeks) they come up on their own. Downstairs is where the food and litter boxes are so until they get used to travelling up and down, they don’t try it much in the dark.
