Hi – My two girls are very picky about their food and won’t eat wellness anymore and they only like fish can food. I recently switched them to earthborn which they love but I found out they have carageenan that isn’t good for cats. The from reading reviews they recommended wvueria which I looked up and it causes IBS in cats, I am at a lost at finding a good food for them that is safe for them to eat, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Seems like you have done a lot of research about cat nutrition. Have you considered raw feeding at all?

There really aren’t much good options. Maybe look into Merrick (both the regular line and Before Grain), TikiCat, or Nature’s Variety (both Prairie and Instinct). I honestly don’t remember if they contain carageenan or other bad ingredients, but they are typically considered the best.

There are some premade raw foods that do contain fish – Primal I know does have one formula with fish in it. I can’t think of any others at the moment that do have fish, most don’t because fish isn’t that great for cats ( http://www.littlebigcat.com/nutrition/why-fish-is-dangerous-for-cats/ has reasons why).

After lots of reseach, I personally ended up choosing to feed “prey model” raw, if you want info on that send me an email: wppwrf at gmail dot com (have to write it out like that to avoid spam). I do have one cat, Nightmare, that I am working on switching to raw, so far it looks like he will eat Rad Cat. Another five eat half canned/half raw, the canned they get is Before Grain (all the non-fish flavors), Merrick Surf & Turf, and then a cheap/lower quality canned, typically SophistaCat Elegant Entree.
