So, i’ve been taking care of this kitten that was abandoned by the mom, along with his siblings. I’ve been feeding Dodge goats milk, as suggested to me since I first found him at about 1 week old. I think he’s around a little over a month now. He walks and starts to play. When I let him out of his kennel for feeding time, he crawls right to me and sits on my lap purring as i prepare his food. Dodge is a very smart baby. I don’t stimulate him anymore for bathroom times, and he’s been doing very well with that. My question is, he is still smaller, but full of energy. I started trying to feed him soft kitten food (fancy feast for kittens) with a little water mixed in. If i hold him above the dish, he’ll eat it decently. Is there anything else I could put into his diet that would help get him a little fat on his bones?

    Hi Tayanna,

You don’t want him to put on too much weight because once he’s neutered he’ll start to get fat. So continue feeding wee Dodge the Goats milk but make him a mush. Mix the Goats milk with wet cat food and put it in the bottle. You may have to cut the tip off the bottle so he gets enough to eat at a time. In about 2 weeks, give him wet food mix with a bit of milk in a bowl. Dodge should be able/want to eat just wet cat food w/o milk in a week or so. You can pick up some Nutri-cal at a small pet store or online. It’s a gel that’s designed to put weight on kittahs/cats. Nutri-cal has a lot nutrients too.

Wee Dodge is a smart guy. He healthy and happy because of all the effort and love you’ve given him. Concats!
