So, I live next to a forest and there’s a couple of Wild DMS and their batches of kittens. 1st batch, one male survived (I call him Wild), 2nd batch, one female survived (I call him Yuka), Third batch, one female survived, I took her in, named her Yuki and someone stole her when she’s six months. Fourth batch, three survived (the latest) 2 Female 1 male. And my question is, why does she care only for one kitten? She sits and rest with one(Sukki) ,and the other two she left in the drain (Yuuki/Courage) (she even swim in the drain when I saw her)/ my shoe rack (Male, Suka). Does she want her other kittens? or not? or does she have a schedule?

I have a hunch it’s nature. She knows she can’t care for them all so….she lets the others die. It’s sad but a part of life.

But she let them live for a month :”( Should I take the one in the drain in or what? I’m thinking of neutering the mom because she’ve had too many babies. Is that a wise decision?

Yes, it’s the BEST decision and solution for this poor mama cat who keeps having litters of kittens that she is ill equipped to care for. And yes, go get the kitten in the drain, and any others you think she may have left to die. Like Yuri Ben said, she knows she can’t care for them all–for whatever reason–and leaves some to fend for themselves. She doesn’t know what will happen to them if she leaves them, just that she can’t care for more. I have seen this happen many times to cats who are abandoned to fend for themselves. They don’t get enough to eat, they haven’t been nurtured when they were little kittens so they don’t know how to care for their own. Bless you for caring for her and her kittens!! Sometimes, it feels like such a thankless job, but for us catlovers–you are a hero!

Thank You :”) I’ll try to ask my vet to neuter the mom.
