I remember Airy telling me about the Santa Ana winds when she was living there. At least these winds haven’t been hot – yet.
Going to head off to bed after a long day. HRH is snuggled in her tent next to me, she got up and nosed at the blanket on the back of the sofa so I dropped it down over the seat and she immediately shot into the gap against the back of the seat and curled up. She’s purring up a storm now.
Nighty night Deb, may your shift be q***t and drama free and sweet dreams for later. Chin scritches for The Crew.

Good morning…and goodnight to MS. Looking forward to heading home today…missing the kitties. The pet sitter texts me an update every night. She said Eko is her buddy now, Leo will tolerate her petting him and Emily is having none of it, won’t come out from under the bed. Sounds about right. I have Emily in her own private suite in the master bedroom, since I wasn’t sure how long after the pet sitter left she would come out of hiding…might be no food left by that time. Alternatively, she is very capable of eating hers and the boys’ if they are stressed and off their food a bit. And she gains weight easily. Plus, Eko and Leo’s spats are often inspired by Eko/Emily playtime, so this solution helps prevent that. Hopefully she’s been happy…she gets mommy and daddy’s bed and I set up a window perch for her.

Waves @ AV and ECB πŸ™‚

Safe travels to home ECB, bet the kitties will be glad that you are home.

AV, I too hate dealing with the cell phone crud.

Heading home in a little more than an hour, thank goodness I have been dealing with a migraine all night and it is driving me nutty than I am normally.

Lol at MS – I too read posts only to forget what everyone said when I go to post.
Windy weather drives me batty too. At least my hair is shorter, but still long enough to be annoying.
ECB, safe travels. Wondering if the cats will tackle you with “we missed you!” or ignore you.

Good morning! Ran the sweeper, and mopped the floors, ok that’s it for me today! Jumping in the shower and after lunch will run up to youngest daughter’s and stop into a store that sells the jeans that the oldest granddaughters wear. Then we are going back to her house to watch a movie she has DVR’d for our viewing pleasure! A lot of times we will do lunch, but we are both not feeling the ‘food’ thing today after yesterday’s feast, lol! It is very warm here today, am going to let the stove go out, only to restart it tomorrow with temps dropping into the 30’s. Today, it will be almost 60. Weird. MS, it is always windy here too. I mean really windy, so if I’m working outside I have to wear a hat a lot of times or my hair whips my face so hard it hurts. Hair is shorter now, but like Joan said it’s long enough to be annoying!! I guess that’s why they are wanting to put up wind turbines here, hey–it works for me!
Off to the showers so later littermates!

    Hi everyone,
Hope Thanksgiving was fun for those that celebrated. I am just at the end of 2 weeks holiday and am back to work tomorrow- I am not really feeling it, but we will see. Wanted to thank you all for advice re. l-Lysine. Dru’s eyes have cleared up (one completely and one nearly there) so I guess feline herpes was the problem. She doesn’t even notice the powder on her food:)
While I have been on holiday, we have taken many opportunities to play fetch and Dru is pretty reliable now. She does sometimes over-estimate my reach (to pick up the toy) but, for the most part she has grasped the concept and loves the game. I crochet little shapes for her and she likes to carry them around – doesn’t like acrylic wool (no lanolin?).
I hope all is well with your cats and kits. How is Ms MP doing with her eye? She is such a floofy, pretty girl.
Spent some time with my mother’s cat today. She is a sweet little basement cat (who has never seen a basement) and a rescue. She sounds a bit like ECB’s Emily and is very selective about who she will interact with. Strangely, she is always fine with family, even those she doesn’t see very much. Don’t know how she works it out.
V gloomy weather here in the UK. Getting dark already at 3pm and expected to be a cold week. Think I will be leaving a wrapped hot water bottle on the beautiful one’s favourite chair while I am at work. Still trying to persuade my outdoor boy into the house but he is having none of it. Maybe he will relent when it gets really chilly.

Hi KZ & Judith – might do a bit of local shopping, but not quite in the mood. Maybe I’ll start with a garden center that’s only a few miles down the mountain and take it from there. Everything else is at least a 15-20 minute ride away.
Judith, glad Dru is feeling better and that you had a nice holiday. Perhaps I should try lysine powder on Leela’s food. Sometimes she eats the treats like a champ and other times turns her nose up at them or spits them out!

    Hi all!
Judith, similar weather here across the pond, dark and gloomy all day. Looks like we’re in for rain, snow or mix of both!
Joan, same here re posts, I so want to respond to everyone and ultimately I forget someone, yet can’t go back ’cause then I lose my post! Could take notes, I suppose, but that might be going too for, even for super-organized me LOL.
Worked out hard so plan to stay in for rest of day, maybe catnap as caught up with work such as it is. Did just wash 2 (of many) down filled coats in preparation for whatever weather arrives. They come out so nice and floofy, almost, but not quite makes up for the sound of bouncing tennis balls in dryer as getting on my last nerve and not helping slight sinus headache, but actually does result in coats retaining floofiness.
Haven’t done the soft furnishings seasonal switcheroo as is my style, waiting for serious snow. But did disinter warm-air steamer for a good Hazeling, and now it’s set up in bdrm hopefully adding moisture to dry air.
ECB, safe trip back! GR8 that you have a good kit sitter, but I’m sure the kits will be all over you when you arrive, each wanting their own “me” time! πŸ˜‰

Afternoon all! …. I got a good jump on my week, which promises to be very busy …. got a hard/complicated report out, which needed to be done.

Yesterday was a good putz day, and I got my Hanukkah/Christmas decor started ….. it looks like Son & Dau have similar gray/cold weather to Judith and KJ, it’s actually quite lovely here in sunny Fla.

…. going in for another round of Tetrizzini …. amazing, but I never get tired of Thanksgiving fare …. hope everyone is having are relaxing Sunday

Good morning all, by the feel of it KJ’s little parcels of cold weather have arrived here. It’s the first day of summer and it’s cold ! Brrrrrrrrrr, 9.30am and it’s only 14C here and to top that off it has been raining and hail is forecast for later in the day with heavy rain. What the heck is going on. At least the gardens are getting some much needed moisture. Oh, keep this quiet but the winds seem to have been stilled today. Yay!
HRH spent the night in her sofa tent and is outside ‘reading her book’ otherwise known as sniffing her way around the property to see who has passed by during the night.
AV, I hope your cell phone fight goes well, I might have a fight on here on Mum’s behalf with a cell phone company. Not looking forward to that as it will mean hours on hold just to speak to someone.
Judith, isn’t it awful when the day gets dark so early. We’re doing the opposite here and with Daylight saving our days are lighter later each day. Now we just need the warm weather. Dru seems to be having heaps of fun with her toys.
KZ, your winds must be pretty constant if they are thinking of putting up wind turbines, at least ours are seasonal. Constant winds would suck monkey-toes.
ECB, i bet you will get a wonderful welcome home from the furkits.
    Waving at Joan and Deb.
I’m disappearing off for a while, jobs unfortunately won’t do themselves no matter how much I wish they would.

Afternoon friends! Grey and dreary here. Not overly cold, but the fire feels great and the snow outside makes for a nice backdrop…from inside! Mac went out earlier – don’t want him to feel trapped – and he sat on the back step for a while before coming back in.
Love Thanksgiving leftovers! Hubby and I had turkey sandwiches for lunch. My kitties know next to nothing about people food. However, being a specialist occasion I thought maybe they might like to try turkey. Comet sniffed it and looked away. Leela sniffed it (with a little more interest) and jammed her head back into her body to resume her nap. Who are these creatures???
Mac gratefully accepted a few pieces without being pushy.

    Hi Joan and MS,
Mac sounds more and more to be a stayer!
Also glad to read that HRH’s appetite has perked up. So very sorry about the arrival of my cold weather packages. You can always send them back marked “Return To Sender” LOL.
Just popping in for a quick minute. Was actually at brink of dozing off while watching interesting documentary, so this tells me that I should take leaf from Dorry’s book as catnap. He’s snuggled between a loveseat cushion and the back of seat, hard to explain but I keep a body pillow in front of actual seat cushions, decorative and makes for a nice nest. When I lie down he generally joins me, often offering one of his famous leg massages as 4-paw acupressure which is harder than a massage therapist (Sven excepted), well at least on me, so after a few minutes I gently displace him. Actually have to place cushion over my ribs as afraid he might inadvertently cause damage LOL. Got done what I had to as some Hazeling, then starting front of mid grey wool sweater for 3rd time as my concentration was obviously lacking. Wanted to catch up on reading, highly interesting book, but when I find myself reading same line over again it means that sleep must win out. Plus slight one-sided sinus headache in effect, meaning sleep is the only way to somewhat relax. Hope that everyone is having a good Sunday afternoon/evening!

Popping in to see how everyone’s weekend has been πŸ™‚

KJ hope that sinus headache clears soon there’s nothing worse!! It’s good your starting your winter preps now you’ll be glad of it when you get a surprise chilly day…

AV hope that phone shops gets their s@*t together so you can get your upgrade. Your thanksgiving dinner sounded incredible oh and yours too KZ what a spread! Just about every food imaginable πŸ™‚ never did the cranberry sauce thing myself. But over the last 3 years my mam makes it at Xmas and she lives it with turkey..

Joan I’m not surprise comet and Leela turned their noses up at the turkey some cats actually don’t like it ? Strange?! I agree with KJ sounds like Mac is becoming a real homebody kitty πŸ™‚ so happy for you all !

Deb I hope that migraine has cleared by now and your enjoying your Sunday !
And I’ve probably forgotten to mention someone too I’m a devil for forgetting what I’ve just read..

Oh Judith ! So happy Dru is feeling better πŸ™‚ delight the L-lysine has worked out for you.. Your probably right about her not wanting to carrying the polyester wool toy.. It might leave her with a squeaky feeling in her mouth and you can be sure if she did got a taste of lanolin from the wool she wouldn’t spit the toy out πŸ™‚ Ms Moneypenny’s eye still isn’t good her third eye lid is still showing πŸ™ and even though the swelling has reduced the ulcer hasn’t reduced in size at all πŸ™ I can’t even see the colour of her eyes behind the cloudiness .. I’ll try and get an app tomorrow to get a final decision on what needs to be done but I’m almost positive she doesn’t have any vision from it at the moment..

MS glad those nasty winds have calmed and now HRH can enjoy the first days of summer.. Hey PG πŸ™‚ couldn’t look at the pic my internet is so useless lately πŸ™

So dark and dreary here in Ireland too.. It’s almost dark at 4 pm! I don’t mind that as long as I’m home by then to get the fire down..

    Hello all!!
Just had some turkey in gravy, cranberry sauce, leftover white sweet potato and a few black olives. Mmmm… I was SO hungry! Stopped by young neighbor’s house to drop off one of those advent calendars with little chocolates under each flap. Poor little girl is sick with a bad cold so her mom gave it to her through the door, as mom was out on the porch chatting with me.
I’m washing my two winter coats and will hang them to dry on the doorway. I need more moisture in here. Hardware store near here has the cutest penguin air mister/humidifier, but it’s around 50$!!!! There’s also an elephant one. Just adorable! The bad thing would be, needing to use distilled water for it. Would have to pay 1$ a gallon then. That could be used up in a few hours! The other water leaves a white powder all over stuff.
    MS,Minerals I guess?
MS, that is just SO adorable how HRH Shadz LOVES her little tent. I LOVE hearing about how much she enjoys it! Awwwww……
Joan, that is so sweet how MAC loves being all cozy in your house and only sat outside for a bit and wanted back in. Awwww…..

Just popping in briefly, got some hazeling done while it rained lightly outside then headed for the garden centre for flower plants to make the garden look glorious for Christmas. It poured with rain while we were there, thank goodness it is covered. Home for lunch to find that it hadn’t rained here and I was only 2.5km(1.5miles)from home, now and the wind has arrived too. Poo! πŸ˜₯
As I hopped out of the car a beautiful boldly striped tabby cat with a collar was on the wall out front but took off down the road in a hurry. HRH doesn’t need any more cats invading her territory.
More rain now so looks like gardening is not going to be on the list of jobs for this afternoon.

    Hi KZ and ECB *waves*
Pouring out here, but thankful that point in time it’s not the dreaded snow! Our weather can’t seem to make up its mind, freezing cold one day, next day not. Really messes with peeps, but the weather doesn’t care and probably enjoys a laugh at our expense!
