It’s Small Business Saturday. Additionally, Black Cat Friday extends to the weekend at most shelters. I hope many cats find their forever homes.
The lounge in TDK land is featuring cats and dogs needing homes in your area. If you cannot adopt, perhaps you might pick up some toys or food or litter for your local shelter? Or you could go through your blankets and towels and donate what you don’t use or need.
The buffet is set up with anything and everything you could possibly crave. The view outside the big floor to ceiling windows next to the big stone fireplace looks much like the view outside my window, with snow on the trees – still! – since Wednesday. Roads have been clear though, because 2 days before the storm, it was 70 degrees F.
Ceiling fans draw a gentle breeze in off the water, through the patio and into the lounge. No sign of Deb’s playful racoon!
    Welcome!

Good morning everyone! Have been busy getting ready for our Thanksgiving meal, which is today! Turkey in the oven smells delicious! A beautiful November day here, about 45 degrees later. Good for a walk after a big meal, and the guys might get the 4-wheelers out and the kids can ‘air out’ outside! That reminded me of JK!! LOL!
Hope to check in on everyone later! Morning Joan!

Morning Joan and KZ! …. enjoy your Thanksgiving meal, I’m making my Turkey Tetrizzini later with our leftovers …. I look forward to that as much as the main meal 🙂

… heading out to brave the grocery store this morning … hopefully not too overly crowded yet 🙂

    Good Morning Joan and Kittyzee,

KZ- In tribute to the delicious aromas in your kitchen http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13/janedodo/hB7E55E01_zps11f01bcf.jpeg

Good Idea Joan! Shelters always need gently used towels and small blankets (that fit in a cubby). Treats and toys are always desired but make sure the toys are machine washable.

I’m planning my shopping today. I may go to the local Kristkindel festival.

    Have a Happy
    PG 🙂

Hehe, PG, cute pic! Heads up to KZ, AV and anyone else making yummy meals today. You may sense a presence in your kitchen; rumor has it that TDK agency kittehs are venturing thru wormholes and taking notes on your fabulous creations!

….. I will put the little chef kitties to work chopping veggies and prepping for the tetrizzini …. I need veggies sauteed, cheese grated, bowls stirred …. I’m sure KZ will have some ‘chores’ that she needs help with too 🙂

NOT real happy with the cell phone store at the moment …. tried to upgrade (which I have 3 lines eligible) ….. but they are apparently caught in a paperwork tangle, and it’s very frustrating!

….. back to my cooking agenda ….. ‘calgon take me away’ …..

Sorry about the cell phone problems, AV. Hope it gets sorted out soon. Someone left wormhole doors open, your dinner smells fabulous! KZ’s too!
Did some small business Saturday shopping, came home and made a big turkey sandwich, and took a looong nap! Nice to cuddle with Miss Leela for a while!

Woo weeee I’m tired! PG, that kitten is adorable! I think I saw out of the corner of my eye, little kittens scurrying around (I think Willow helped them thru the wormhole!) trying to sneak pieces of turkey! Goodness, we had so much good food, and everybody brought containers to take home and share! Our menu was turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, escalloped oysters, green bean casserole, cranberry salad, sweet potato casserole, broccoli salad, rolls, iced tea. Pumpkin pie and pumpkin cake and coffee for dessert. It was so nice here today also, the kids got to ride 4 wheelers and be outside. There’s no mud, but they did find some dirt to get into, LOL! Except Avery, she doesn’t know how to do that yet, so she had to stay in with the adults and get kisses!
AV, sorry about the snafu at the cell phone store, is there anything more frustrating? Your tetrazzini sounds delicious, although the ‘calgon take me away’ at this point in my day sounds even better!
Joan, great idea about donating things to shelters. Around here they are always needing cleaning supplies. I never thought about blankets and towels.
My dogs were in heaven as they got some turkey scraps and some gravy on their kibble. Outside kitties got turkey skin, and some juices too. Everyone around here is stuffed it seems!

KZ, your dinner sounds divine! Nice that the 4 wheeling gang found dirt to play in too. Avery, sweetie, soon enough – for now it’s kisses for you!
Not a huge fan of cranberries, but used some in one of my stuffings. Made cranberry sauce with the rest as part of the feast I brought to neighbor. Turns out she loves cranberry sauce!

Joan, this cranberry salad was my mom’s recipe. It’s made with jello, cranberries, an orange, celery, walnuts, apples, it’s so yummy! You really can’t taste the cranberries much, they are chopped so well in the food processor. It’s refreshing this time of year. I buy bags of cranberries and throw them in the freezer, then make it in the summertime too.
I’ve never made the sauce, just had the canned. I like it well enough, except it seems to always taste like the can!

    Evening Buttons and KZ,
Sounds like most have had a great post-Thanksgiving Caturday. KZ sounds like loads of fun as family Thanksgiving. Dorry went through the wormhole to your place and AV and probably meowed that chez KJ not much nomz fun ever happens, trying to get sympathy. Well he’s right in a sense, veggie here and no Thanksgiving or feasts. But don’t let my furry fool you, he is very well taken care of in terms of his nomz LOL.
Slept most of day and still needing more so planning an early night. L8R or tomorrow as Sunday!

I would probably like your cranberry sauce, KZ. Niece makes it and I always have a spoonful. The stuff I made was the directions on the package, aka, boil & add sugar. If I make it again I would add orange and maybe apple.
Hi KJ! Dorry was indeed roaming around the wormhole – Comet was with him! Mac doesn’t know about tattling!

KJ, I’m not sure, but I think that I saw Dorry making “eyes” at Leona. She was trying to beg scraps from my sister and her husband as I had forgotten that it was past lunch time for the cats! (How could I have forgotten?) None of the inside cats got scraps, you can rest assured he still doesn’t know what turkey tastes like (LOL) but I believe that Leona thinks that Dorry is dashing and suave. He was very polite and a true gentleman. Bowtie was quite taken with Comet, as she has not seen an all black cat before, except when she walks past the mirror. Joan, just check and make sure Comet is home and that Bowtie hasn’t squirreled him away somewhere.

Well KZ, that’s my “ladies’ man” Dorry for ya! He will now add Miss Leona to his list of “conquests”, most do don’t reciprocate his ardour LOL! Am I to assume that you have a Basement Cat as Bowtie? Purrfect! I love black kitties – shhh don’t let Dorry know! “Dorry, I love silver gray kitties the best” *Phew!*
Deb, having caught up on your raccoon incident, this one’s for you – all in good fun of course! 😉

KJ you are correct that Bowtie is a basement cat, LOL, but she has never been to the basement or cellar in this house! She is quite sleek and beautiful and a very loving girl. Love the pic above too! So darned cute!

Comet? Comet! Where are you? Oh there you are, glad you had a nice time with your friends. 🙂
The 2 fat raccoons that hang around here must be confused, Mac used to save a bit of his food for them. Now there’s no cat food outside. The squirrels are okay – they are helping themselves to bird food. Zinga, the long hair black cat has been coming around again; hubby gave him a bit of food. After all, Zinga followed Tommy around toward the end – it was almost as though Tommy was showing Zinga the ropes. Guessing Mac’s scent is not outside since he’s been in since Tuesday afternoon.

Evening TDKers, it’s been a long hot extremely windy Sunday here. I wish the winds would stop, they are beginning to drive people batty and also animals. HRH has taken to staying in bed most of the morning then going hunting for the afternoon and back inside around 6pm for the night. Also she definitely has her appetite back with the added energy. Just on dusk this evening I had finished watering all my garden and was barely in the door when Mr MS said Shadz little fluffy ginger boyfriend was drinking from the birdbath. I called out to him and said nice things to him. HRH was sitting about 8 feet away watching him. He then went and used my rhubarb patch as a toilet. 😯 🙁 I will get him tamer though. He must belong to someone as he looks brushed most of the time.
I have read the posts but my mind is so tired out I can’t remember what you all said. Bad me.

Lol love the picture of the Raccoon and the kitty 🙂 KJ, that would be just like Kitty to sit and look at the Raccoon, he keeps checking the backdoor and our window in the door is just like the picture but almost to the floor so kitties can comfortably look outside 🙂

Jan, was windy here this morning too and quite warm even, right now at 1:30 it is 54F/12C so not too bad.

Dang backyard kitty, I put a container out there with a nice pillow and it’s a good windbreak, do you think he will lie in it….NO! He has dug out enough of the dirt to make a little round bowl indentation and that is where he curls up during the day, silly kitty. But he does eat the cat food I have left out there.

I wrote down how to do the Amazon thing that you sent me Jan, now do I know where I put it….NO, seems I would lose my head if it wasn’t attached, sigh.

Evening Deb, it’s 14C heere and almost 10.30pm, thankfully the winds have ceased as they do most nights. We’ve had strong winds for almost a month now and everyone is totally over them, everything in the garden is drying up or being torn to shreds.
Oh trying to figure out the Amazon thing? Maybe it was Jane.
I’ve been dodging a mosquito here most of the evening but finally I triumphed over the nasty singy monster. Clap! ! Got it. 😀
HRH is now inside with me snuggling up as usual.

Figured out the Amazon thing but it wouldn’t let me put the book and the magazine I ordered for Rebecca on there, sigh.

Mosquitos are so flipping annoying, yay for the Clap! I have a nice plant growing on the back porch to deter mosquitos 🙂 Those dry winds are the worst, we used to get the Santa Ana winds in California (well they still do) and they were yuck to say the least, didn’t take long to get tired of them too.
