Welcome to the weekend lounge, a place where we can forget the trials and tribulations of the week and relax with some cute snuggly cats.
Grab yourself a coffee or tea and help yourself to the noms the chef kitties have been busy preparing.
The fire is gently warming the lounge to a perfect toastiness and the patio is bathed in Southern Hemisphere hot sunshine.

Sweet dreams, MS! The kitchen kitties pretty much matches the picture that’s been in my head all these years of the TDK agency kits!
Thinking of getting out of bed to check the fire, but it’s so cozy and I’ve got 2 snoozing kitties with me and the morning sun is shining thru the window. It’s 29 degrees F here, brrr!
Mac spent the night inside again, quietly enjoying his afghan by the fire. Come morning he is ready to go out. Hoping to convert him to indoor only for the safety for my duo. There has been no drama, so to those of you who encouraged and educated me after his FIV+ diagnosis, I can say that co-existence could be a possibility. Cautiously optimistic.

Morning (or Night) MS, Deb and Joan! ….yep, that picture is pretty much what I envision of the agency kitties too 🙂 …. they do work hard to please their hoomans !!

…. I think I’ll have cold pizza for breakfast this morning, since I’ve got to go back in to the on-line marathon …. luckily, I tackled the worse/hardest of the courses yesterday, so I’m hoping today will go smoother …. maybe a better mindset would help too 🙂

…. I woke up with a cramp in my leg today, cause ‘someone’ slept curled up against it all night, and I couldn’t move much without disturbing the princess ….. Abby always gets velcroe snuggly when it’s cold LOL ….

…. ok, hitting the showers and get going … have a great Caturday all!

Good morning! Thanks for opening the weekend lounge, MS. I had a similar sleeping experience with Emily last night, AV. We try to remove the cats at bedtime for the sake of good sleep…but sometimes I don’t have the heart…especially with Emily…she wants to stay so badly.

What a cozy night Mac had. :).

Made pumpkin pancakes this morning…had been craving them since before my cleanse. Youngest son was helping me put the ingredients together when older son came running into the kitchen this morning. He said when he remembered we were having pumpkin pancakes he JUMPED out of bed and RAN to the kitchen…lol. Youngest son wasn’t sure if he like pumpkin pancakes but declared them “glorious” after trying them (with lots of real butter and maple syrup of course.) They get their love of food from their mama. Hubby would rather sleep in than have breakfast. :).

…. awww, so glad little Elsa survived! thanks for sharing Deb 🙂

…. EC, right? … we just don’t have the heart to move them sometimes when they’re so snuggly and lovey 🙂 … a little cramp is a small price to pay ….

…. fixin’ to start the on-line course now, put my wash in, unloaded the dishwasher, set Hazel/Bob to work, guess I’ve procrastinated long enough! … going in, wish me luck 🙂

    Good Morning,

Nighty night MS-I love that picture! The kitchen kitties are very busy indeed. Joan-I’m so glad Mr. Mac has stayed in again. You can’t help but worry when they live outside in the freezing cold. I really wanted to sleep in but Miss Gaea was in my face about 7 a.m. I managed to get another few minutes but that was all I was getting because LilBit got in my face.

Well, Miss Moppet is more involved with the gang. She was playing with LilBit and Gaea for a few minutes. I called the vet. and explained what’s been happening and he said to watch her. Since LilBit had that fever with no obvious cause she may have an issue as well. Hopefully she just fine.

Have a Happy Caterday and weekend-it’s snowing again and temp is not getting above 20/-6 F/C. Heavy sign 😐

Good luck with the ongoing online work, AV. I jumped out of bed with a leg cramp too, but Miss Leela was next to me so I guess I can’t blame it on the cat!
Glad you enjoyed the glorious pumpkin pancakes, ECB!
Hi PG – snow? More of it? There’s remnants of it here and I know it’s November and all, but still…

    Joan,

Bummer about the leg cramp. I guess you didn’t let Miss Leela warm you up before jumping out of bed. 😆
So far we have about 5″ snow. It seems to bring the cold wind and temps. though. Or maybe it’s the other way around? “They” said it’s going to be a snowy winter here. If I didn’t enjoy living in Colorado so much, I’d become a snowbird! Although, the cold is not fun as I get older.

Wow PG, you can say that again, it’s NOT fun as I get older either, and I have always loved winter weather. Did I really say that out loud?!
Had to laugh at every one’s leg cramps, well, not the cramps but the CAUSE of the cramps. Why is it we will suffer all sorts of inconveniences for our kits like that, I even lay awake sleepless because I don’t want to wake them up and make them move so I can roll over.
Hazeled today and started the humidifier too which helps me to breathe easier since the wood stove has been fired up. My nose stuffs up if it’s too dry inside, and the humidifier really helps. And it’s amazing how much better it looks in here when I run the sweeper and mop the floors, LOL!

I hear ya, PG. I like Jersey – mountains, beach, farms, close to NYC etc., but I don’t like the cold wintry weather like I used to.

    Evening all!
Terrific Lounge opening MS! Kitchen goes along with image in my mind’s eye too, as Café is quite mid-Victorian in is’t style, strange for someone who is more into modern/minimalist yet cosy. Purrhaps comes from a book I was gifted with years back as “The Victorian Cat”. Or version of Dicken’s “Bleak House” featuring long-haired grey purry as Lady Jane. Doesn’t bear over analysis.
I’m hearing about snow and it’s headed this way and more than mini squall of yesterday pm. I guess that I should get my humidifier out from the vault and soon. Not so much the cold but the dampness gets too me. I’m not made for cold weather and yet I have lived here all my life with no plans to move to tropical climes where I would do very well. Then again I like the change in seasons (and of course fashion changes as go-with).
Hope that everyone had a decent Caturday despite cold, cramps (which I hope have been relieved), courses and Hazeling. me, slept all day, but still need more. L8R? Tomorrow? Whatever.

I keep a teapot on the woodburner to help humidify. That’s how Comet’s tootsies got singed a few seasons ago. He saw it and since he loves to play with water, jumped up – for a millisecond – before realizing it was a bad idea.
So far this year he is sticking with sinks and water bowls.
Guess who stepped inside a short time ago? And he’s smack in front of the woodburner! Comet doesn’t mind, he is in his “nest” behind the pile of wood where it’s plenty warm.

Hi all from a lazy Sunday way down south. We slept in late then had our usual Sunday morning brekky and are now reading the paper and on line news sites.
Cramp ! I too woke with cramp care of HRH. She was all tucked up in her own room(formerly known as Airy’s room) when we went to bed but I woke with cramp in my left calf and a sore back from sleeping on the bed edge. That was the first I knew she had joined us although mr MS had felt pointy little feet walking across him at 0 dark thirty. AV, ” I woke up with a cramp in my leg today, cause ‘someone’ slept curled up against it all night, and I couldn’t move much without disturbing the princess” were the exact words I thought when I woke to cramping leg muscles. hope your studies go well today.
Sounds like it’s brrrrrr all round, even here.
Joan, yay to Mac knowing where the best place to live is. He’s a smart boy. Love how he came back in after his morning ‘walkies’ and check of the yard to see who had been through overnight. That is what Shadz does, out for a ‘pit stop’ and then she sniffs all around the property to see who has been through, we call it reading her morning paper as she gets the overnight news that way.
Deb, I read about Elsa yesterday and am so happy she has survived.
ECB, pumpkin pancakes sound rather good, especially with real butter and maple syrup.
Miss Moppet you keep active and well. Brrrrrr more snow and 6C temp.
KZ, you have a very soft heart towards kitty bed hogs, if I was awake enough to move her on I certainly would. She doesn’t need a soft bed seeing as she spends most of the day outside asleep in the dirt or in long grass. I need the soft bed.
I’m pleased you all liked the chef kitty pic, I squeeeed when I saw it and knew it was perfect for the Cafe.
I have come to the realisation that cold weather and getting more mature don’t go hand and hand but the changing seasons keep things fresh.
Joan I also keep something on the fire box top to keep a little humidity in the room. It’s an old enamel percolator coffee pot but now that I don’t drink coffee it’s just water in it.
Off to hang out the washing and double peg it and hope it doesn’t blow away, the winds are pretty strong and very nippy even though the sun is shining.

Hehe, reading the newspaper, I like that!
Hubby slept on the couch last night so as not to wake me when he had to get up early this morning – only reason Leela didn’t take her place between my knees. I usually have to do some form of yoga to turn over during the night, often results in a leg cramp. I’m just glad she is back to jumping on the bed. She was reclusive for too long.
Today’s kitten, in addition to being totally handsome, has such a cool name. “Blazing Saddles” is one of my favorite movies.

Joan, sounds like you might be getting a purrmanent indoor resident as Mac. Hope the trio truce lasts and that all stay safe. Purrhaps he’s like some peeps here (generally older ones), who head for warm climes, ie FL for winter and are back her for rest of year.
Idea of pot of water on woodburning stove sounds neat and homey, but not when one’s home is heated by electricity as entirely not safe. Firefighters, way cute for most part, but prefurr to enjoy their handsomeness when they are not on duty. LOL
Just did 2 hr knitting marathon so that latest sweater (as mixed shades of teal/grey/white) could be finished in a week or so depending on how week goes. Then it gets a modelling/wearing, put away and on to the next one – about 32 more on list, but it’s def sweater season so encouragement is very much here, summery sweater projects as cottons are on back burner.
Planning to turn in early and very quiet in Café so good night to the kitties and to all!

Evening all! … one more day (tomorrow) to go of the on-line marathon, but then it should be done for another 2 years 🙂 … I’ll soldier through …

… so glad Mac is comfortable enough to ‘step back in’ … he’s a smart boy to know a good place to live and love …. glad the trio is getting along!

… had a nice dinner with family, I made a ginormous greek salad to take, and it was a big hit – only scraps of romaine left … I bought a corned beef to make for tomorrow, I’ll start it when I get up in the crock pot, and let it cook all day …. the house will smell wonderful – should make doing the course at least in an enjoyable atmosphere!

… I am loving decorating this year with all the little led strands of lights I bought, and am finding all sorts of fun places to put them …. in the fireplace, over the mirror in the living room, on the front porch wreath, and intertwined with the candles and table decorations … they are really pretty!

… winding down now and getting sleepy … have a good night everyone!
