So glad the lost kit is safely back in the nest, and prayers for all that are still out there.
We had a major rain storm blow through today, and when it had passed, there was a little baby robin on the ground under its nest: poor little thing was totally drenched and could hardly move. Mr. PC was the one who saw it, and he brought it inside, we sopped up the worst of the water with paper towels and then just held him (her?) in our hands to try to warm him up. It worked! After about 15-20 minutes of taking turns holding him, he started to fluff up and opened his eyes. We put him in a box for a bit (with a towel over the top so he would be calm and rest), until the sun came out and we started to see birds flying around the yard. About that time, he cheeped a couple of times, loudly, so we put the box outside and watched from the doorway. He didn’t come out at first. then all of a sudden he fluttered up and sat on the edge of a big pot of zinnias I have on the porch and cheeped some more: calling for Mom, probably. Next time I looked out he was gone, so either Mom came and got him, or he just went off on his own. Quite an adventure for a little bird just learning to fly!
