So glad you caught the kittens, Judith – good team effort! It would seem Darla may have had a paw in planning this…
Didn’t want to take the canoe out, AV? Ok, another day – your pie sounds yummy! It was hot in the sun but here in the mountains it didn’t seem too bad, probably because the humidity is low.
Good job, Noodle, taking care of mama!
Hi MS, wouldn’t it be nice to soak in a hot tub by the fire? Oh well, we can dream!

An outdoor hot tub near a pizza oven with snow around would be bliss.
The sun is coming out here now. HRH is happy which is more than I can say about her yesterday after I applied her flea treatment. She was in such a grump with me that she slept with Daddy for the night, definitely not something she has done often. I think I was forgiven when I gave her her regular Sunday morning little bits of bacon just now. Phew! her stink-eye looks were beginning to make me afraid of what she might do. 😡

    Miss you too 🙂

AV I hope it drys up soon!!

MS it’s meant to be summer here but i was so tempted to put a fire down this evening ! It’s been really cold these last few days and we haven’t had a good summer at all …

Oh Rasputin is doing well .. He won’t stray from the front garden ! He doesn’t wander at all! He is a pretty small cat though for a
    Tom I think..

And we had to put Droopy our Bassador pup on a diet after her spay op a few weeks ago the vet said se was over weight which confused me but I changed her diet and she still seemed to be gaining weight ! Well we realised she was sneaking outside the gate and eating the cat food and then sneaking back into the garden we never realised at all! And that’s why she has been gaining weight so the cats will now only be fed on a new shelf that only the cats can reach hopefully if Droopy sees there’s no food outside she’ll stop trying to get out. Or we might have to get an invisible boundary collar for her..

    Evening all!
Being indecisive and with Joan making all areas of the Café seem so tempting, I might just soak in the hot tub for a bit, then relax in the cooling breezes of the patio – or vice versa LOL.
No idea who Liz is – FB TDKer? But wish her a speedy recovery.
Glad for update Buttons. Good that Rasputin is getting used to the comforts of home. As for Droopy, well have to give him credit for finding noms elsewhere when on diet, but I’m sure that you’ll get him to get with the program! And hopew that your back eases up to where it doesn’t bother you at all.
So Dru, prefurrs fancy water Judith. Hmmm … Reminds me of something I read in some gossip mag re actress Demi Moore. Allegedly in her contracts it is stipulated that cases of Evian have to be supplied as that’s what she washes her hair with. 🙄
Now I have better idea of what Fair Food is KZ! My recall is dim at best, recall some country fair-type places where we had soft ice cream and cotton candy. Then there was Expo ’67 as world’s fair and La Ronde amusement park, where they had every type of snack food on earth!
Happy that you and HRH are no longer at odds MS. Noms will usually win a kit back into one’s good graces.
Seems like summer might be drawing to a close in n’hood as starting to get chilly at night. Then again, it can get steamy hot here, like in mid-Sept. timed to coincide with just after one has relegated summer wear to storage system.

Well I’m glad HRH has forgiven you, MS. The stink-eye can be dangerous.
Hi Buttons! Cool that Rasputin is sticking around. Oh sneaky Miss Droopy, no wonder she put on weight – good luck with the diet!
Hi there, KJ – hope you had a restful Sabbath. Liz is an old time TDKr and fellow cat lover – wishing her a speedy recovery.
The weather has been cooler here too, and expected to stay somewhat cool next week. I think we’re in for another blast of summer though.
We had a wonderful dinner on the lake over the border in New York State – perfect weather for dining on the terrace. It’s a nifty old restaurant/hotel that’s been around since the 20s (hey, it’s gonna be the 20s again in 5 years, yikes!). It was one of Babe Ruth’s favorite hangouts around here. I had a strawberry sundae that was to die for!

Joan your Saturday sounds wonderful, especially dining on the terrace of an old restaurant by a lake.
Our day here has been quite a mixed bag of sunshine, rain, hail and thunderstorm all with cold temperatures. Brrrr. HRH is curled up asleep on the floor in front of the fire.
I have noticed something strange about her lately. She is going grey! She began life as a black kitten but soon developed tiny clouds of lighter fur all over and now these clouds are becoming very obvious and spreading. She is very dappled now.
On her appetite, she definitely has it back. I suspect getting a regular supply of cat treats to encourage her to sleep in a specific place has helped.

Morning all! Finally a beautiful dry morning! Oh HRH, silver highlights are very distinguisted …. Glad your appetite is back!

Abby had a hair band festival this morning, she must have raided Dau’s room, cause I found hairbands everywhere, both up and down stairs!! Silly girl …

… Lazy morning for me …. Mr. AV got up early to go play golf …. Dau spent the night in Orlando at a friends bridal shower, then bachelorette party …. So it’s me, Abbs and a pot of delicious coffee 🙂

Shadz, I agree with Auntie AV, your dappled look is very distinguished! Glad to hear her appetite is definitely back, MS.
Oh Abby, must you get into hair bands? Silly girl!

Hi ya, Joan! ….. scritches to the trio …… Sal usually doesn’t come ’round til later on the weekends, I think he sleeps in with his owner …. Abby has been looking for him all morning, and now passed out in the sun beam in front of the French doors …. so cute!

…. I think I’m headed to the farmer’s market this morning, don’t know what in particular I’m wanting, just something fresh ….. I’m thinking along Greek flavorings …. maybe some boneless/skinless thighs, salad fixin’s with feta, and lemon/garlic potatoes ….. just trying to change things up, since Mr. AV is the chicken King! LOL

My trio are good about sleeping in when we do, with the exception of Comet’s occasional serenade.
Ooh the farmer’s market, yum! The one in my hometown was closed last week and will be closed this week as well, while the garden center it’s in does some renovations. They are hoping to get more vendors for the re-opening.
I must remember to make baked-potato soup – we had it last night while dining on the lake.

Yumm AV, your idea of fixings sounds delicious! Laughed at the hair ties…my cats get mine and they are all over the house, usually under the stove. Caught Willow opening my vanity drawer the other morning, he had a pile of them on the floor along with a bunch of chewed up q-tips! I swear!
I don’t know Liz either, but wish her a speeding recovery and quick healing.

Oh, I love hearing about the hair tie antics….too cute. I do use them but my kits have never shown much interest.

Good to see you, Buttons! Funny about Droopy sneaking food. :).

Those of you who use facebook have probably noticed the memories feature that pops up a “one year ago today” type thing right at the top of your feed when you log on. Well today mine popped up “three years ago today” with a picture of an orange cat licking her lips and my words, “This is Sharon. We are fostering her for a local shelter becuS she needed some extra TLC in a home environment. I think she likes the food here.” Sharon, of course, became Lucy when we adopted her. Man that memories feature could be a killer for people who have lost loved ones. I’ve been emotionally drained for the rest of the day.

Well I’m at the sit down before I fall down stage as I’ve been racing about chasing my tail all day (if I were a kit that is!)
New find as got idea on some DIY deco site. Bought four 52 x 70 inch microfibre tablecloths at $Store in a deep cerulean blue, more room darkening than alleged room-darkening drapes. Washed them, hung them and hey, presto wall to wall drapes for like $36!!! Plus as not floor length they keep baseboard heater exposed for when that season comes around.
Then on way home picked up a small solid wood open bookcase at garage sale. Was $10, guy offered it to me for $5. Ideal for keeping yarn projects in those pull out fabric drawers. And fits space in bdrm purrfectly. Just had to move wood medicine cabinet to bthrm which is where it rightfully should have been. And cheaper bthrm street find goes out for p/u by someone else.
ECB, have to admit that the “memories” feature is one more reason for me not to do FB. It would take a piece out of me, and I hear you. Sorry that it wrecked your day.
And Buttons, sorry that I keep referring to Droopy as “he.” *Makes mental note to self*
Have to take care as yet another library book took a bath with me yesterday. 🙄 Not soaked through, so I placed some paper towels between some of the wet pages, then put book in plastic bag and kept it in freezer overnight. It was chilly enough for me to turn off A/C and leave book in window under 16 lb of dumbells. Might be doing the trick as I really don’t feel like paying for another book! Falling asleep in bathtub is not ideal, but I was that tired. Must attempt to get more sleep, but I’m stressed out and doing the Energizer Bunny thing is what seems to work. Until I crash. Whatever.
And today went out and it was chilly, a few hours later was sauna hot and humid. So much for peeps complaining that summer’s over.

ECB, I’m so sorry you are sad for Lucy. I’m sure it brings back the memories, but remember the good ones and don’t dwell on the one that brings the heartache. 😐 ((ECB))
KJ, another street find and new curtains too?! Maybe you missed your calling as an interior decorator! Falling asleep in the bathtub with books is scary –well, maybe not as scary as with electric appliances, but I’m sure you know better than that! 😛

    Hi Everybody,

I’m back! I got rid of Dish and needed new i’net provider. It’s amazing how much I got done with no i’net or telly.

I finished re-finishing my roll top desk. Then I re-arranged the living room so I can showcase my desk. Then I cleaned.

    Welcome back PG!
That desk is stunning! Same finish as my home office. Great job, not that I know how much work you put into it, looks fantastic. Plus I love your Dali-esque wall clock! Sounds like a KJ sort of day hehehe. I do have one of those bathtub thingies, made it myself from a rack found at $Store. Prob ensued when I was holding book and fell asleep. Hopefully book has been salvaged due to my ministrations. Although in retrospect, as KZ noted, worse things can happen falling asleep in tub full of water. Must address that situation as well. Enjoy watching football.

Good Monday to you all. After a day yesterday that had sorts of weather Monday dawned cold but fine and the sun is out. HRH is sprawled on the balcony, the birds are out singing joyfully and several loads of washing are hanging drying(I hope) in the sun. I have even sown banana pepper seeds in trays and constructed my mini greenhouse ready for more seed sowing. Having said all that apparently Spring will be late in arriving and will be cold longer than usual. 🙁
Abby, you love it when your miniAV is home because you can play with all her hair ties.
KZ, goodness me Willow is a hair tie kleptomaniac. I see that Shadz is missing out on something but I don’t think she would see them a a plaything anyway. She won’t even play with the red dot, just looks at it disparagingly fixes me with a stink-eye and walks off.
ECB, sorry about that FB shock to the system. I still think of Lucy often but no more dreams of her. I think she must be well settled in with someone and is happy.
KJ, great mental image you present there of yourself.

Nice work with the new drapes and also the bookcase and recycling of former street find. What goes around comes around or the other way this time. Maybe you need to investigate if there is a gadget for keeping books held and dry while reading in the bath. I’m sure someone has invented something by now.
Well looky there, PG has come up with just the thing KJ needs.
Welcome back PG. I love the clock, very Salvador Dali.
LOL, hi Cheri, we thought the same thing about the clock.
Phew this post has taken so long, interrupted by phone calls and Avon at the door.
