Good morning! TDK is going old school with memories from long ago.
Once upon a time a TDKr from Florida would open the cafe and paint a picture of the morning’s breakfast spread. I remember “fresh squeezed orange juice from John’s kitchen” which always makes me smile – must be awesome to go outside, pick oranges and make juice!

Along with that juice, the TDK cafe and lounge has a great spread of pastries, bagels, muffins, fruit, hot and cold cereal, and chef kitties await your custom order of eggs, pancakes and waffles. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee (“cawfee” for Jersey folks!) lures even non coffee drinkers in!

It’s a beautiful day in TDK land! Kittens are stirring after their early morning nap, and their mamas are bathing them before letting them out to the patio to play. “Aww ma, I don’t need a baff!”

A day of games and picnics is planned. Chef kitties will fire up the grills for lunch and dinner. Later there will be a bonfire to gather around for storytelling and marshmallow roasting. Be careful with the hot sticky marshmallows, kitties!

When the sky darkens and stars and planets come out to play, there will be a glorious fireworks display. Cover your ears but remember to look up!

    Welcome!

Oh, Joan, that made me tear up, with the throw back reference to Terry! (RIP) …. love the old school imagery, always made me smile – we would always take turns opening, and everyone had their own unique way of ‘cooking up’ a spread! Well, Son made it to CAR, and is with GF …. I’m glad he got there safely, and I’m praying he’ll gain clarity about the relationship …

We’re still getting rain bands from Harvey, Caddy has taken up residence on the top perch of her cat tree …. girl has me bringing her 3 squares a day to the porch …. funny how we live to serve them!

JJ, I love the visual TDK openings, although I swear I can smell the goodies from the kitchen and the ‘cawfee’ smells delicious!! The pictures that you can paint with words makes me envious!!

The cafe sounds and smells so wonderful, I think I’ll just hang out there all day. With the wonderful atmosphere of relaxation and kitties, what more could anyone want? The perfect weather (whatever you desire) is always available in TDK!

AV, so glad to know that son arrived safely and will soon be able to work out his relationship with GF. We can give them the best start in life and give them wings, but will always be anxious about their decisions and choices. I’m not one much on worrying (I learned long ago it does nothing but make the worrier sick) but I can send white light, good vibes, and prayers to help those I love…along with rolling up my sleeves, if need be and getting in there and helping. Hope you don’t experience flooding from all the rain that Harvey is sending your way.

Well, my house is clean and am waiting for Fed Ex to bring my new bedding today… tap..tap…tap..that’s my foot waiting for him, I have my arms crossed too… ๐Ÿ˜† Getting ready to put on clean sheets, but I want my new stuff NOW! ๐Ÿ™„

Random thoughts for a relaxing (stretch) Caturday!

And a tribute to the lovely food the Cafe kits have prepared:

I, too, am glad your son made it by car, AV. A few ( ๐Ÿ˜† ) years back, I would have done the same type of trip. That’s funny imagining you feeding Caddy on her cat tree. No doubt she gets the finest dinnerware! When I catch myself catering to my gang, I think really, then yes, really.

Whatever can you be waiting for KZ?

The swamp cooler doesn’t work and won’t be fixed until Monday. Naturally, we’re going to have record highs. *sigh*

On the bright side, it’s 31 days until my knee surgery, yea.

    Goo morning all.
JJ,thanks for the memories of old times here on TDK. ๐Ÿ˜€
At the moment I can really go outside and pick up oranges off the grass to squeeze for juice.
Wow the spread is wonderful and I can’t help smiling at the image of squirming kitties trying to get away from Mum to head outside.
AV, yay ! So glad that son has arrived in CAR. Positive Vibes for his talk with GF.
KZ, tap tap tap. Don’t you know a ‘watched pot never boils’.
He he PG, I would take 2 weeks of sleep.
We have a grey windy and at times wet day and it’s chilly too. Blurrrrgh !
We went out last evening for dinner and to watch our national rugby team play the Australian national rugby team. Yay the NZ All Black won a nail biting game and then up earlier than usual for a Sunday to watch our National women’s rugby team play England Belfast Northern Ireland in the finals of the Women’s World Rugby Cup which they won too and it was also nail biting game. Congratulations to the Black Ferns on their win.
    How my morning began.
HRH spent a second night with us, first on top of the bed then snuggling down under the covers. It is lovely to see her finally getting back to her old self.

KZ, I hear you. I hate having to wait for anything! Hope your new bedding arrives soon. I think that a watched pot must eventually boil, just seems to take longer.

I’m waiting on an ebay order (my first) for (it had better be genuine, for the price) Sony Walkman CD player from back in the day.At least I didn’t have to bid on it as this would be not fun. Now I don’t need it before next wk for DIY spin class, but still. It’s supposed to come on Mon., prob mailman will arrive the moment I’m out. Whatever.

OK, so I was washing area above vanity lights in bthrm. Standing on decent ladder, no less. Didn’t realize that any water dripping on bulbs would short them out. Yup – 2nd time I did this! Got all the glass cleaned up. Changed bulb. Completed job – and some paint touch-ups, this time with lights turned off, using daylight from entryway. *Sigh*

PG – a pile of new yarn AND 2 weeks of sleep – pleeze! ๐Ÿ˜‰

LOL at the ‘Earth is a cat’. NZ is a hair tie just sitting to the south east of the ‘ball’.
I love the ‘gotcha’ pic and isn’t Seymour a talented young kit.
I have a large stockpot on the stove with vegetable lentil soup simmering away. I know Winter hasn’t finished with us until part way through Spring and Mr MS will be needing his thermos of soup. The aroma is delicious.

MS, in Northern Hem we’re heading towards cooler temps – and eventually Winter!
I couldn’t find Canada on a map or globe unless it was pointed out to me. Guess geography wasn’t my strong suit, ๐Ÿ˜‰

What ! You couldn’t find Canada on a map? It’s an awfully big target to look for unlike NZ. Geography definitely isn’t your strong point then but you have other strong point to your credit. Just the other day Mum and I were talking about an Estonian neighbour we had many years ago. We asked her if she knew anything about NZ before she came to live here after the war. She said that they had studied all about NZ in school. Small countries seem to learn about other small countries as well as the continents.
Spring begins here Sept 1st but our Spring will be more of the same as Winter has brought us. We have had a very wet Winter this year.

    Those waffles look delish!

Australia is the ball and North America is the rump. How fitting for America now.

I love Seymour! A silly willy face ๐Ÿ˜†

Good morning! I been thinking of you guys this week and hoping all is well, though I’m just getting the chance to check in. We had our first week back to school. It went well…now time to plan for next week.

Cute, cute pics today! I love the cat toy baskets…they look just like ours. Eko is the only cat who will actually go rifle through the basket to find a favorite toy to play with. He’s really good at entertaining himself.

Hope you enjoy your new bedding, KZ. We’re enjoying a new mattress. And tomorrow a charity is coming to pick up our old one. It’s been sitting in our living room for two weeks…can’t wait for it to go! I didn’t want to just put it out for trash because it’s only five or six years old and exceptionally clean for a used mattress. It’s lacking some support, but I still found it comfortable, so hopefully someone else will too.

KJ…Ebay is so great for things like your Walkman. It’s really fun. I just had my first eBay experience a year or two ago when I got into collecting vintage dishes. Some things you wish were still available are sitting in someone’s house going unused. Sons wanted old fashioned plain boggle for Christmas and there were no current versions like that. They change classic games like Risk, Boggle, Monopoly, etc… I’m guessing they do that to make folks think they need a newer version. Anyways, sons had played my aunt’s original boggle and wanted that, so found it on eBay for same price as the newer version.

Happy Sunday all! ….. Mr. AV is ‘Mr.Ebay’ …. he buys/sells golf clubs and all sorts of stuff on there all the time! … he’ll buy a driver, try it out for a few months, and if it’s not exactly right, he’ll sell it and search for a new one ….. something’s always newer, bigger, better …. ect!

This morning was my day to sleep in/be lazy ….. it’s been a really rainy weekend, so Abby and I have been curled up with a book, and Caddy has been ‘top shelf’ on her porch perch ….. not surprizingly, Mr. AV still kept his golf tee times …. if it isn’t lightening, they’ll play …. they all have these high tech rain suits …. ya gotta figure with golf that originated in Scotland, rain is just part of it!

I’m being lazy too…after I finally got out from under my NEW BEDDING!!! Oh, it’s so wonderful and beautiful *sigh* is there anything more fun than getting new bedding?! ๐Ÿ˜† Believe it or not, yesterday when I was typing about waiting for it…I heard the truck slow down and pull into the driveway. You should have heard my feet going down those stairs–just sayin’!

It’s beautiful here again today with the sun shining and low humidity. I really could handle it being like this year ’round for sure. I have to go to the garden today and pick tomatoes. My little garden has been so rewarding this year and saved me money on not having to buy produce. Plus, I know where it comes from! ๐Ÿ˜‰

At least Mr. AV doesn’t have to wear plaid knickerbockers and a tweed jacket. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Did your gang “break in” your new linens?

Just a reminder: August 31th is TDK Black Cat Appreciation Day so please have pictures, stories and stuff. Here’s a Black Kittah to remind you!

PG, “Kissin Dome” – that’s where any attempted kissing of the Dorry occurs! ๐Ÿ˜‰

No black kit stories here – but loads of black kits in n’hood. On stressed-out Tues one of them crossed my path – hmmm! ๐Ÿ˜‰

KZ, glad that you finally got to experience your new bedding! Agree, there’s few things more enjoyable in life than new bedding! ๐Ÿ™‚

No biggie adventure in am. I was getting act together to head to gym. Suddenly – no water!!!! Of course could not reach City Public Works to find how WTF was going on. Checked with n’bour (really nice married couple). He did come to the door in T and white satin boxer shorts! ๐Ÿ˜ณ No water in their place either. Made instant oatmeal with club soda – not wonderful.

After spin class called another n’bour. She did get ans from public works, seems a water main broke! “Promised” repair by 12:30. Just in case bought a humongous bottle of well, water. Got home, water back on, but good to keep bottled water on hand anyway.

Treated myself to yet another hair appliance – on sale. Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Hot Air Brush. The dryer piece *(which I can use without attachments), concentrator, 1.2″ ceramic/bristle brush and 3/4″ boar bristle brush attachments. Seems to work well as one can lose it reading pro/con reviews. Without thinking much bought one for home and one for gym. Realize that I really only need the one for gym as my other appliances suffice more than adequately for the quick dry at night at home. I wash my hair 2x/day, after class to rinse sweat out and at night to rinse product out. So one appliance will go back. Anything that quickly gets my hair purrfectly straight is a charm! Esp as I’m half-way to crown/side-oriented bangs reaching chin. Love covering one eye for that cutting-edge looks. Side and back will remain close to shaved as it’s a look that I can rock. No one believes that my hair is not naturally straight!

In any case going for hair cut Tues. It grew in beautifully after the clipper fiasco of some weeks back. Gifting stylist with the clipper, keeping the cutting scissors as using them to trim sideburns poses no threat and he showed me how to do this.

I’m going to make me some waffles with Canadian maple syrup – just like Cafรฉ pic – only prob not as good! ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ˜† at KJ on the kitteh in the bed! YES, that was me this morning! Hubby was downstairs drinking coffee as I stumbled down the stairs…said he was beginning to get a little worried…heh. I asked him if he even came to bed last night as I don’t think I woke up once to even look at the clock or think about coming downstairs to well, you know…..
And yes, the cats had to take turns as a couple wanted to get under the covers, and one wanted to lay up against me and hey, maybe they did all of the above! All I know was I went to sleep and then I woke up! ๐Ÿ˜›
