Weekend Lounge, April 23-24, 2016

Hey JJ, a wonderful old style TDK Cafe. I just had to add the pics of your words – or as best as I could.

Good Caturday AV, MS and Joan! Love those ‘old fashioned’ pics of cats so much! Love the cafe opening too, and I’m thinking brekkie and a soak in the hot tub is just what aching bones might need. The kitties do such a wonderful job of taking care of us in the lounge–well, because cats are all about comfort and it’s just what they do best!
Have fun today AV–making memories with dau and good friends are what life is all about. Yes, poor Abby and her yakking. Mine do it too and it’s just hard to know what to do.

I was informed, via the wormhole, that all is wonderful and I will see my kits l8r. Miss Moppet did catch a rainbow and is holding it close in case Dorry stops in.

What a fun, busy weekend is happening in TDK Land! Merlin was going to drop in for a look, but he’s just recently rediscovered a bed he used to love and then went right off, for no reason I could work out. Anyway, now that he’s back in there he says it’s too comfy to leave just yet. But he’ll drop by when he wakes up a bit . . . He’ll be the one making enormous yawns all over the place.

He might be useful for painting the higher bits around the place, because he’s so tall.

It IS a fun weekend in TDK land, but my kits, like your Merlin CWS are weird about staying the night somewhere unfamiliar. They took off early after they had their breakfast though. Bowie will be thrilled with JJ’s crew as she has never seen another black cat, and Leona will hook up with another dilute calico if there are any. Willow isn’t proud, he will trounce around and make friends with anyone, while Thumbalina will bring her crown and try to find a perch up high to reign over all like the queen she thinks she is!

I’m glad yesterday’s “goodbye” was a good one, JJ – remembering the happy times is important, even though of course the friend or relative is going to be missed. Gin’s human Mum died just over a year ago now – her anniversary was the day before BJ left, which made the occasion all the more poignant for me.

In her case there was an unforeseen hiccup in the arrangements. Her funeral had been arranged at one of the Edinburgh crematoria, but it had to be postponed and moved elsewhere because – yes, really – there was a fire at the crem! She would have laughed about that.

But back to today . . . and Mr CWS has been inspired by all the activity and decorating going on here, so he’s outside at the moment, painting the new cat shelter. Well, painting it with wood preservative, at any rate. Oh, and he’s taken that plastic curtain off the door. It’s too stiff, so we’re going to think of something more practical asap. Before the rain comes back, ideally.

I see Mac and Merlin are making a good job of that wall . . . they’re so clever to be able to work and pose so nicely at the same time! But then some cats have all sorts of hidden skills, don’t they?

Oh, Merlin doesn’t mind getting excited, not at all. Unless of course it’s sleep time . . . that’s pretty important when it comes along. But he does love meeting people, and he tells me it’s amazing that there are so many different places in the world that he didn’t know existed!

He’s never met so many cats with so many different accents before. Fortunately he can make most of them out well enough to know what they’re saying . . .
