Wednesday – Cell Phone Courtesy – 19/7/2017

I find it somewhat strange that no one has come into the Café today. Purrhaps they’re all on their cell phones?

Anyway I have alerted KM to several tech-type weirdnesses on the site and hope that they have nothing to do with this.

Well, back to whatever I was supposed to be doing! 😉

And safety. I’ve seen people driving (cars, trucks a city bus) walking (across busy intersections without looking), cycling, and SKATEBOARDING while texting. Darwin awards?

People on buses or in public places talking about graphic medical symptoms and problems, sex, and other what used to be private matters on their bluidy phones.

Hate messaging. This past week there were prominent examples thereof targeting the Jewish and Muslim communities here. Images of swine of course a theme common to those.

I won’t even go into trafficking minors…

Well hopefully site will get sorted out tech-wise. I get concerned about my ‘puter too, as it has it’s moments, being way old.

KZ, went out to run errand and it is oppressively hot out!

Arranged for window repairs after guy gets back from customary July industry vaca. In any case with A/C on windows are kept closed.

Lagatta, I’m with you re cell phone usage. What really gets me is when I’m merely trying to walk and some %$**()))! is so engrossed in texting/talking that I often have to say “Excuse me” in both official languages to keep from getting body slammed. And then I get a look as though I am at fault! Well, at times I verbally let the miscreant have it! These days common courtesy seems to be gone! 😡 Except in TDK-land! 🙂

Hi all – I posted earlier but it seems to have gone somewhere in cyberspace. Maybe Dr. Who will find it. I too thought it was my phone, as I haven’t gotten my ‘puter fixed yet.
I like the kitty trying to order a doomsday device with the Chinese food order, and settles for a crab Rangoon. Oh and kitty who haz new phone but nobudy callz.
Seems we all share the same sentiment about cell phone etiquette. AV, that’s a great rule Mr. AV and golf buddies have. Generally we keep phones off the dinner table, except the night we were waiting for Baby William’s arrival; there was a lot of texting that evening.
JK, hope those lower dew points drift this way. Got the a/c charged in my car, yay! Then went up to the office, but for only an hour or so, because today was a great day to be poolside. Must grab summer while it’s here!
