Happy anniversary on the job, SMM! Some people just don’t understand us cat people. I was so mad that I couldn’t take the day off when Jiggs was so sick, I even got some additude when I asked to leave early to take him to the vet. I didn’t get quality time with him. Sure, I gave him tons of attention the previous week because it was Christmas break, but January 3, I rushed home, scooped him up in “our” favorite afghan (hubby put him on my spot on the couch that was in front of the woodburner), and off we went to the vet, when we had to make the decision. I’m so happy that hubby was home, though, so the fella wasn’t alone. Also, hubby offered to drive, so I could hold him instead of putting him in the carrier; I was so thankful for that.

“Blowing in the Wind” – that’s the other P P & M song that I heard this morning. (couldn’t think of the title all morning) Paul was so cool to hear on the air this morning, and only 1 town over from where I work! He’s clearly still in the 60’s, but in a good way. Expressions such as “thank you for having me here this morning, my brother”, etc. The version of Puff with his daughter was beautiful, she has an amazing voice.

Popping in quickly to catch up on everything. The squirrel stories are funny. Squirrels are so fun to watch and I think they are cute with their fluffy tails.

I am very lucky to work where we can leave to tend to our animals if we need to. Of course, several of us at work are pet owners, so that helps when something comes up.

Congrats on the job, AV! Shall I start stockpiling our product? (Eeeewww, where am I going to store it?!)

AV congrats on the job!!! I am sure that is a burden off your shoulders!!

JL…chinese food..oh yum…I haven’t had any since mothers day. Maybe I can talk my hubby into getting some this weekend.I love good chinese food.

Joan, I am sorry the house is taking so long, but at least it finally moving. It can take forever with the permits and the contractors etc. What a nice Christmas gift once it’s done and you have a new home 🙂 Leela is such a trooper. Please give her extra love from me.

Afternoon all! CM if you get chinese make sure to tell them No MSG. SMM, congrats on a year at the job. Just hang in there and see what happens.

Going back to an earlier part of the thread, I can’t listen to “I’ll be home for Christmas” without crying. We had to sing it in Chorus this year and concentrating on the music kept me from bawling, but I know that the next time I hear it, I’ll be crying again. I can’t help but thinking about all the young men and women who serve in the armed forces who are seperated from their families at the holidays. Ok must think of another song so that I don’t make my mascara run!

    Congratulations on the job, AV!

We were talking at lunchtime today about ordering Chinese food tomorrow for lunch. I love Chinese and so do others, so we try to order it about every couple of weeks.

LOL!! JL & Joan – yes, we need to stockpile our “bear be gone”, and work out that “scoope away” litter genie!!! Cuddles and Abby have been doing their best to contribute!!! LOL

You know, I love to make Chineese food — it’s so yummy, and not hard at all. I love noodels with peanut sesame sauce – and you can add any meat – chicken, pork, ….. ok guys are making me hungary!

Joan, when we did our home renovation on our big house 10 yrs ago, we lived in what I loving recall as the “dirt pit” for almost a year. We tore half the house up for renovation (lived in the other half), then switched – tore the other half up and moved over to the first half… then finally put the two finished pieces together. At one point my kitchen & washer/dryer was hooked up in my garage because I refused to eat out for six months!! LOL It was definitely an adventure, but we loved it so much when it was done, it was worth it…. though I swore I’d rather have my toenails pulled out rather than live thru that again!! LOL

Lol AV! Yes, we hope to look back on this and laugh, and will certainly never do it again. Unfortunately, there’s no place to retreat to, so we just stash our personal stuff as best we can, grin and “bear” it. *ducks from getting hit with tomatoes!* Oh, and by the way, I’ve had a toenail removed and it’s no fun at all!!!

CM, I know Leela will appreciate your special hug!

Congratulations, AV!!! Now duck cuz here come some dragon poo!!!! What will you be doing? And have you told your employers about your necessary TDK time? I would recommend putting that into your employees benefit package.

Aaahum… (quietly tunes up with a few screeches)

“Oh stewball was a racehorse, and I wish he were mine.

He never drank water, he always drank wine.

His bridle was silver, his mane it was gold.

And the worth of his saddle has never been told.

Oh the fairgrounds were crowded, and stewball was there

But the betting was heavy on the bay and the mare.

And a-way up yonder, ahead of them all,

Came a-prancin and a-dancin my noble stewball.

I bet on the grey mare, I bet on the bay

If Id have bet on ol stewball, Id be a free man today.

Oh the hoot owl, she hollers, and the turtle dove moans.

Im a poor boy in trouble, Im a long way from home.

Oh stewball was a racehorse, and I wish he were mine.

He never drank water,he always drank wine.

You know, Stewball was one smart horse…..

*Slyly practices stuffing three pounds of armadillo poo in a lunch sack. Dusts off math skills to determine length needed on poo-flinger to reach the necessary velocity to have bag directly in AV kitchen…… giggles with a maniacal sounding laugh *

… frantically searches for something to use as a shield…..grabs a large pot lid and a wire strainer with a handle (if she can throw, I can catch and “return”) LOL

She may be right about the horse thing……looks into cookie jar to see if there’s any money to bet with…..

Actually, TDK time will suffer, however, since I’ll work from home at with my own computer and at my own pace….. they’ll never know….

…does WMM think me so stupid that I would not calculate my TDK time in any job consideration???!!!????
