Thanks, Joan. Buddy looks like TIKKA – in fact when I opened Rubia’s card and was looking at Tikka’s picture, John and some of his friends were asking when I took the picture of Buddy and then they realized it wasn’t him. Leela is a Maine Coon and is now coming up to me for more attention than she does with John. Last night I went into the garage to say something to John, Buddy had been on his lap and just flew off to come to me! Kind of made John mad!! But Buddy knows who’s really important!

Siobhan, the jewelry is beautiful. I am looking forward to the new website and am partial to amber – can’t wait to see more.

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening? to everyone! Just got into work about an hour ago, woke up with a raging headache! (I know how you feel SAOM!) Its the strangest warm here today, same weather as JFNJ I believe, sixties and rainy! Oh and the wind! Jeepers! Wish the wind could have blown my headache away, instead of blowing my recycling bin all over the porch! I know it couldn’t have been ricin’s favorite buddy, “Big Boy Squirrel”, he only ruins my porch when there is some food to be had! Thats a whole other story folks! Sorry I’m kinda blabbering here…

The whole buffet would do me just fine CM! And some pickles too please! hehe

Oh, and maybe we could invent a new migraine medicine that is actually SAFE to take during pregnancy! Cuz I would love to get me some of that!

JL, hope you kick that headache soon. Are you in the city? The skyscrapers seem to make the wind whip around even more. Here in the mountains, we worry about trees coming down. So you have a big boy squirrel? We have “fatty the squirrel”. “Tree rats” as my Dad called them.

JL – watch out for those squirrels – the summer before last – i had one plant his own sunflower in my minature roses! It was funny when we realized who had planted it – of course in his mind he was just hiding a seed for the future – I am amazed that we haven’t found peanut plants growing based on howmany peanuts we would leave out for him and see him hiding them – i know we played with his mind because we would go and find them and put them back in the bowl!

Hi JFNJ! We are more in the suburban area, outside of Boston, but I can’t believe it! I feel like I’m in Chicago with this wind! Its quite an eerie day!

Yup, ricin looooves his squirrel friend. We named him “Big Boy” cuz he is very chubby! he obviously knows how to find his food! Ricy watches him out the window alllll day, and just wishes he could go out and “play” with his lil friend! its very funny, I don’t think ricy could get any closer to the window, his poor lil face must be sore afterwards! hehe

Hi everyone…sorry to have disappeared. Got Maddie off to Grandma’s, took a shower, threw a load of towels in the wash, then started sorting clean baby clothes so I can put them in Abbie’s room when we have it done..Next thing you know it’s 11am…Holy cow.

Siobhan, I love your jewelry! I love the whole Celtic thing and I know hubby would like the Arthurian things.

Karen..it’s good to see you. Glad to see Richard is working.

JL…I got the worst headache early on in my pregnancy and it lasted for almost 3 days…it was caffeine withdrawal..Since they say no caffeine during pregnancy…well guess what…After that headache with nothing to help me, I drink caffeine. I have hot tea every morning..occasionally I have some pop too but I will never go through that headache again. I almost had my hubby take me to the hospital.

tee-hee Karen! The tree rats (we call them that in a loving way) usually eat the sunflower seeds that I plant! They are fun to watch.

JL – Leela loves to watch the squirrels too. And the birds of course. She chatters at them; it’s so cute. As soon as construction is done, I can relocate my lighthouse birdfeeder to where she (and me!) can see it from the kitchen window. I usually feed the birds from December till about mid March. I love seeing all the different types of birds that come to my yard, especially when it’s snowing, it’s so beautiful.

The rain is really coming down. So glad I don’t have to worry about a leaky roof and water coming in the house. We limped along with it for a long time till we were able to renovate – buckets, towels, the works. Water would run down the walls and parts of the ceiling eventually came down. This project is a long time coming! We’ve been in our house 20 years in January.

Hi CM! I know the feeling! I have suffered from migraines for a few years now, and when I found out I was pregnant, that was the first thing i was worried about! I have the occasional Tylenol with a shot of coffee, and like you said, it works quite well! Thank you for your advice! I’m just worried for what might happen if i get an actual migraine! YIKES! I used to get the nausea and vomiting every time! It was aweful!

this summer we planted some giant sunflowers so we could use those seeds to feed the squirrels and birds something special during the winter – well one day i looked out the window where they were growing to see that one of the flowerheads was gone! Bitten off right at the top of the stem! The next day the other was gone! Pretty sure the squirrels couldn’t wait – Richard was furious! He has chosen just the right site for them and was watering everyday – they were his babies!

I’m heading off today to do what I think is my final bit of Christmas shopping. I still need two gifts but hope to have an inspiration hit! (I wonder if they would like a CD of P,P and M’s greatest hits?)

We passed another construction inspection yesterday. Today they are starting sheetrocking upstairs. It was supposed to start over the summer but the town held us up for 3 months! They started in October and was projected to be 2 months or less. We’re now on week 10 and they have at least 1+ weeks of work. Looks like no tree for Leela’s first Christmas 🙁 but we’ll try to make up for it in other ways. I can’t wait till she can be free from being crated up all day.

Good morning all! It is a another cool morning with the temperature around 38 this morning. Brrrr! I actually turned on the heat this morning so my apt would warm up a little. I need to look in to purchasing that warming bed for my cats. I feel so guilty leaving them in a cold apartment. I know they have my bed with a nice blanket on it to sleep on but I am think a little extra warmth would be nice for them. I will look into it today.

Today is my one year anniversary with my job. This is the first time I have hit the one year mark since I left my full time job back in Feb 2005. I had been with them for four years and left that job because I was sick of working six days a week with overtime everyday. They actually wanted me to come into work when my first cat, Whiskers was dying! The job I had from Aug 2005 to March 2006 was only eight months before they laid me off due to merging offices. Since 2006, I had been doing temp assignments. It is a nice feeling to make the one year mark. Hopefully I get to stay here (unless I win the lottery or a job with a huge pay increase comes along).

I am having a nice pumpkin scone with a mocha again this morning. I was going to go get a toasted bagel with cream cheese but the line was too long. I am now working 8-4 and I am enjoying it. I am sure I will miss the overtime money but it is actually quite a treat to get home within 45 minutes instead of an hour or more. I have an hour and half more of free time and that is so nice to have. So as they saying goes..there is a silver lining in there.

Poor Leela! I know she must just love it when you get home and she can be free again! It bothers me and Richard (even tho it’s his fault!) that Buddy and (our) Leela have to stay in the garage but at least we are able to let John keep his babies instead of giving them up – and they are in a nice warm garage instead of sleeping in someone’s car – that is what John would have done if he wasn’t able to move back home with us. It is sad that they don’t have a window to look out of but Leela has found a way to see the outside world by looking thru the cracks in the overhead garage door – it’s funny to see her looking out and then to see Buddy climbing up in to the rafters after the squirrels who are running on the roof. Even Leela with her one eye has been up in the rafters when she hears the squirrels, and that surprised us all – she doesn’t usually go up high on things, but i guess has been watching where Buddy goes and figured out she was safe to try as well.

Hmmm, I haven’t frozen the cranberry sauce, but I don’t know why it wouldn’t freeze. I freeze fresh cranberries so that I can have them when cranberries are out of season and they do just fine.
