This Special Day recognizes the turmoil in modern, everyday life. Things a little crazy at home? “That place” hectic and disorderly? School a little on the wild side? Thought so. (Well there’s always Tiffany’s LOL.)

Crossover pic – This necklace is called Chaos and was made at Asprey in London. I saw a programme on the making of this necklace and it was amazing.

    😯 😮

No wonder it felt hot here,we got to 26C. That’s a mid Summer temp. I have doors and windows open and fans going and I am still uncomfortably hot.

Good morning – cats sure are good at getting into “this won’t end well” situations! The sparkly Chaos necklace is beautiful!
Hubby and I decided to go out to eat last night. In the past, we’ve voted and either gone out or gotten take out. So even though we voted yesterday morning, we figured we’d go out at dinnertime.
Went to a local ‘burger and a beer’ place. No wait staff in sight, and after a minute or so the bartender said to sit wherever, and pointed to an area where there was a buffet setup. So we sat there, immediately getting the feeling we’d be the forgotten table. A young girl came and took our drink order, then delivered them without taking our order. After about 10 minutes the waitress who knows what she’s doing took our order. While waiting about 20 minutes, people started coming in for what looked like an election party, including kids and one who “Oh, he has a cold.”
Oh great. Bring your kid with the cold to a restaurant, and by all means, announce it.
We found ourselves in the middle of a party and after feeling really uncomfortable, saw an open booth on the other side of the place, picked up our drinks and relocated. A few kids decided the restaurant was a playground and were running laps around the place, and who told them to stop? Mom or dad? Nope, the waitress. And the kids stopped running for about 2 seconds.
We don’t blame the hard working waitress, who has worked there a long time. However, the young ‘waitress’ was clueless and the bartender should have stayed at the bar instead of trying to ‘help’. And the owner should not have taken on a party if they did not have enough staff to handle it. Bizarre experience!

MS, by rights I should have that “Chaos” necklace!
JJ well you sure had a chaotic experience at resto! I don’t go to restos much if at all, but one time I was seated at a long banquette that previously some kid was using as a racecourse! I was very not happy! As a kid we were not taken out until we could sit quietly and behave. Some things should not have changed. Rant over.
Blinky kit for President. I’ll say no more. 😉

Happy Humpday all! Woowee, it’s cold and windy here this morning….after rain last night (which I laid in bed and let it lull me off to sleep) making it much colder today, high temp. is supposed to be 47*.
Oh I’m so glad you found my necklace MS, I must have misplaced it! I’ll just reach through the wormhole and get it. *click* there…..mmmmhmmmm looks nice doesn’t it? KJ, JJ, anyone else, you can borrow it if you like… 😉 It probably doesn’t look that good with my fleece top and neck scarf anyway…. 😕
Love the pics of chaos cats–sometimes my cats are chaotic, like the night they chased the mousie and Leona had her prize taken away, or when they feel they don’t get enough to eat.

JJ, what a ‘not fun’ experience! Hubby and I have had a couple times like that where you know right away, that you are sitting in the wrong place. Something just feels *off*, like an undercurrent of wrongness, whether they are having issues with help or kitchen staff, but I need to go with my gut on that, and let hubby know that we need to find another restaurant! The kid issue is ridiculous. You realize that these heathens act the same way at home because the parents are so spineless they don’t want to tell their little darlings ‘no’. And you don’t wait to go out to eat to start teaching, it starts when they are old enough to sit at the table. I know I sound like a harda$$, but I don’t tolerate bad behavior at the table from my own kids, on down. What makes it nice, is that we can go anywhere and take the kids! If they chose to act up, that’s when we make the dreaded ‘trip to the bathroom’…since I won’t subject other diners to discipline and the forthcoming tears. We come back out and all is well. 🙂 Okay, thanks for listening….. 😆 (Whew, I think I was on a rant there…)

KJ, forgot to tell you I love the Barbie pics! I have lots of Barbies in my attic that are probably worth quite a bit of money. Except that I played with them until their hair may be a little worse for wear!

KZ, that’s so kind of you to loan such a pretty necklace. I’ll be sure to return it – at some point!

Well I did have a chaotic exp with my Barbie. I decided to dry her hair on a very hot lightbulb. Not realizing that her hair was in effect plastic!!! Hair melted. What a gooey stinkin’ mess. Fortunately the place didn’t blow up!!! 😮

Yesterday was way to weird and scary. Sorry about your awful dinner experience, JJ.

    And just for laughs…

    Have a happy~

I agree KZ. If you want to teach your children manners start at home.

Your misadventures, KJ. Of course, my dad wondered how I made it to adulthood. 😆

Yep, spineless, clueless parents. I even said something to the waitress about her having to police the children, though she was probably obligated, for the safety of the patrons in general.
I love ‘Pickles’ – yep COL is indeed a valid excuse for not getting up and doing things!
Thank you for sharing “your” necklace that MS found, KZ. I’d like a turn wearing it too – it will look fabulous with my NY Jets sweatshirt!
Oh my, Barbie’s hair melted? Purrhaps you can fashion a pretty bandana headpiece for her.
Oh, if anyone comes to the café and wonders why they took a hard left turn at the wormhole, the TDK Chaos Café has been diverted to my place! With not being around much the past few weeks, stuff has been piling up. In my efforts to clean/organize, the cats are following me and either being at my feet or directly into whatever I’m doing. I’m so lucky to have supervisors!
See you soon, PG. Good luck with the switchover.

Good morning all, another early rise and off to the pool for some water torture today, at least that’s what it felt like for the group. We do love our instructor though.
Now as for the Chaos necklace being anybody’s think again, if I remember correctly it was purchased as a 21st birthday present for one very lucky young lady at a cost of many thousands if not hundreds of thousands of pounds. I just can’t remember exactly.
I can understand why so many of us like it though. So KJ and KZ hands off.
JJ, yikes what should have been a pleasant quiet night eating out turned into chaos. How rude and uncaring to take a child with a cold to a public eating house to spread germs even further afield. The poor waitress who has worked there a long time, I bet she did way more than her share last night. Children need to be taught/learn that there are times where they must sit quietly and not rampage all over the place. I sometimes cringe when I see what the children of our childrens generation are allowed to do in public, ours were brought up to respect other people and their space.
OMG KZ, you have me almost spurting my morning cup of tea when I read you had teamed the necklace with your fleecy top and scarf. You also said the bit about the children so much better than I could.
MS pops her hand through the worm hole and wheeeeeest brings it back with the necklace. I simply must have it when I go shopping this. afternoon
    😈 😈
KJ ! ! You melted Barbies hair? ! ? ! Most children would have cut it short but your are definitely different – melting it with a light bulb. 😮
PG, love your pics. It was a crazy day.
LOL at JK’s pic. Uh huh – nodding. At least the TPPA seems to be dead in the water, it was not going to be good for NZ with large corporations able to sue the country if our Government passed any laws that they felt hindered their business. It’s a bad day when corporations can tell foreign Governments how to run their own country. Pretty Autumnal trees. COL is a valid excuse here too.
Whoa was that Comet diving past me with Dorry following close behind? What?
Oh I see what has happened,I did wonder why we had a hard left turn where usually we go straight. Hi JJ. There you go Shadz, off to play with Leela and complain that Meowmy hasn’t been brushing you when you want her too.
I am off to hang out my swimming togs(what do you call the thingy you swim in) and then wash the chlorine out of my hair.
PS, we didn’t win the $44million Lotto Powerball last night 😥 🙁 but one lucky ticket holder will be living a very different life from now on. So no big TDK tour and meet ups. Deep sigh.

Afternoon everyone! Finally made it to the café today …. been a busy week … Great pics as usual! Love Pickles! …. COL hehehe … don’t we all have that!
Joan, I hear you about the undisciplined kids …. drives me nuts! …. and what is this BS giving everyone on each sports team a trophy …. what happened to good old competition – there’s a winner and a loose …. ya try again next time …. what motivation do kids have to even try if ‘everyone’ wins regardless ….. *sighs* ….

well, I’m happy to say my latest spice planters on the front porch have done well, and are thriving! I have beautiful fresh oregano, thyme, cilantro and parsley (things I use often) …. in fact, oregano and parsley is going in my homemade spaghetti sauce tonight! …. best get to it … L8R all!

Seems that our posts crossed MS! We feel the same way about tonight’s spin class/instructor. Swimming togs is lingo here, well for me anyway. Or swimsuit. Or bathing suit. Decisions, decisions.

PG, hope that new ISP works purrfectly! Catch you purrhaps tomorrow night!

JJ, Barbie incident was quite some time ago LOL and the poor doll is long gone. 🙁

I still have my eye on that Chaos jewellery piece and will gladly share the bling with you. I’m sure that it will go very well with your sweatshirt. I have a sweater that has just that shade of blue in it. How about you can have it in the months without an “r”? 😉 Eventually we’ll return it to KZ.

Dorry will stop by and “help” you with your place. Says he doesn’t have enough to do here. Good luck!

Philosophy class session II commenced. First hour was spent discussing US elections. I was hoping to escape the aftermath. After an hour I was tired of the whole thing and glad that we got back on track sorta.

Ideally catnap time. Must get used to time change thing. *Sigh*

Anyway, off to gym in a bit. Weird it being so dark out already. I put my fluorescent bands on jacket as wearing all black want to be visible to drivers, texters, etc.

Knee still achy off and on. Physio did say a bruise could take some time to heal. 🙁

But once I’m at gym I should get with the program. Instructor asked me to pick up cycle studio key and open door as she finishes previous class at 5:55 and our class starts at 6 pm., meaning we have to make a mad dash to set up our bikes. The likelihood of reception peeps (some who seem to think quite highly of themselves) turning over the key is just about nil. I’ll ask anyway. Worst that they can say is no. Like you’d think I’d steal a bike!
