Today we celebrate Save Your Hearing Day. With our MP3-Players, traffic, airplanes and anything louder than 85 decibels everywhere we risk damaging our hearing. Today find ways to turn down the volume or wear earplugs or go to a quiet place. Kits aren’t hard of hearing, they’re just good at ignoring hoomins. 😯

Oh, Noes – it’s the earless fluff monster!!

    Cya and have a happy~

Lol…great pics today! “Can’t hear your rules”…what a cute kitten…I think she’ll get away with not following the rules.

Looked over yesterday’s cafe and enjoyed catching up with everyone’s kits and happenings. Congrats to your daughter, AV!

Turns out the kitchen people want to come Thursday so I will be around when they do the backsplash. Fingers crossed they make it on Thursday. Whatever the other project is they’re working on might not have a predictable end time.

Oh my, the pics are soooo cute. My favorite is the last one, with ears and teeth and all!

MS, we do haylage here too. Funny thing as dairies are going by the wayside now as it’s not profitable. We used to fill silo, which is the same thing and feed to dairy cows. Then we chopped it and filled one silo just for the beef. Keeping those silos in working condition wasn’t profitable either and we don’t do haylage, but a lot of people who have cattle do. We make hay and have enough to feed our cattle and still have enough to sell to peeps who don’t make hay. It brings a pretty good price as the price of hay making equipment is ridiculous and if you only have a couple of head of cattle, or sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, it’s not worth the investment.

Funny you would mention liking the smell of haylage. I like the smell too, I don’t find it offensive at all, but many people just complain about how awful it smells. What smells awful are these huge hog and chicken farms!

It’s a beautiful day today!! I wish it could be like this all summer! Cool mornings, not humid, hot in the sun and cool in the shade–take your pick if you want to be warm or cool… 😆 My windows are open and the cats are stupid watching the chipmunks. We have the motherload of chipmunks this year as I guess since they found the bird feeders, they figure why not just stay here? So now we have corn snakes prowling around in the grass too. The snakes don’t bother me as they aren’t dangerous, but where there is prey–there will be predators and I’m not going to interfere. I love the natural order of things, and love that so many creatures want to make my yard their habitat!

Oooh, such cute pics! “What have you done with my ears?!”
I like that Italian phrase, PG.
As you know, I walk/hike around my community often, but I don’t listen to music. I prefer the music of the animals and birds and water.

Some cats ARE hard of hearing. I found an abandoned white tomkitten in my alley years ago, and the lady from the cat rescue I called said he was deaf. She assured me that she would find him a good home (he was adorable and seemed lively and bright) but one where he would be 100% an indoor cat, as outdoors he’d face too much risk of a road accident, not hearing a dog etc.

Today is also World No Tobacco Day. Rest assured I’m not mentioning that to guilt any smokers here – it is one of the hardest things to give up: http://www.who.int/tobacco/wntd/en/ But I do want to congratulate those who have managed to quit.

Hi guys! That makes me sad what you shared about dairy farms, KZ. We buy our milk from a farm about an hour from here. There is one local health food store that stocks it. We buy some raw milk and some that has been gently pasteurized but not homogenized. I really love that it’s available to us, as I like to use the best quality dairy that we can afford and is available.

My tough client’s cats like to keep me on my toes. Every time there is at least one SDA…suprise dead animal waiting for me to discover it. This week there were two…a baby snake I picked up thinking it was a shoelace and another wren under the same bed as the one I found before. :(. And this was my tough house even before she added these young hunters…lol.

Getting my house and yard ready for my inlaws to visit this weekend. They haven’t seen our new house yet…not even photos. Fingers crossed the finishing touches will be on the kitchen. But if not, at least we can cook.

Two years ago my son & I were between apartments & lived at a roach motel for a month because my family “didn’t have room” for us to even crash on their floor. One sister did agree to keep our 2 cats in her basement. At first she swore the lady cat was deaf because lady cat never acknowledged her. The first time we visited & called her name she came running. My sis is a diva & not used to being ignored but lady cat got her good.
