Drawing is 100% not my strong suit. In fact I feel quite confident that Dorry’s efforts would be a great improvement on mine. 🙄 But I do apurreciate art. Cannot imagine bare walls in my abode. And know what I like. As the saying goes.

No, it isn’t Livia, who has never actually been to Venice. I’m in Venice in my mind right now as I’m translating a book connected to that city. I doubt the three black cats are actually the same cat either, but especially the last two look very much like her.

I love all kinds of art–drawings, paintings, sculptures, on and on. It’s inspiring to me the kind of paintings produced by blind artists and severely handicapped ones. I love art made by hoomin and non hoomin hands/paws!

MS, what a good idea to send cold watermelons with Mr. MS! I’ll have to try that this summer as I know that Avery loves them. Canteloupes would be so good too.

It’s a warmish day here in the mid 40’s, but it’s very windy which sort of cancels out the warm… 😐 I have finished my taxes, and rechecked my figures–meaning I’m consistently wrong, or I’m right! 😆
I’ve caught up on small chores that I can’t do when Avery is here so I finally made it to the cafe. It’s nice to sit and relax my brain and do absolutely nothing.

Hi all – Comet would love the opportunity to create art with a roll of tp or paper towels! I enjoy wandering around the TDK Art room that JK keeps up – lots of good art there!

Cold watermelon sure taste good on a hot day. Frozen grapes are refreshing too.

Very cold and raw here in Jersey. Yesterday the lake had a light snow on it, today it’s been blown off and the ice has refrozen. Looks like it might be too bumpy for skating, but the neighbors will be out there ice fishing this weekend.

Afternoon all! Hump day is behind us! Yay! …..I was reading back threads, and I like that hat KJ, with the large pom on top!

Stay warm you guys still up in the cold, it’s warming up this week, and I doubt will go back down til next winter …..

MS, I couldn’t find the thread with your vegetable lasagna, but my notes in my cook book say to make it like regular lasagna, but use drained cottage mixed with egg (as opposed to ricotta), and grill veggies cut in strips as a layer. I know your sauce was a tomato based sauce, and I think you had diced red peppers in it. I used the small purple eggplant, a yellow squash and a zucchini as my veggie layer. I also used fontina and parmesean cheeses as a layer on top. It was really really good. Sometimes I layer browned meat or sausage in it if I want it really hearty!

Good afternoon all, very different day here with the edges of ex tropical cyclone Fehi touching my area with strong winds and heavy rains later this evening. We are also on severe thunderstorm watch until tomorrow. Other areas of the country are taking a battering from gales, torrential rains and add to that extremely high king tides thanks to the super moon.
Lagatta I love the picture ‘story’ you created about Livia. I wish I could do that for Shadz but there are very few pics of cats like her.
KJ, I can’t draw either and I find it so frustrating when I have wonderful images in my mind but just can’t put them on paper.
Wow JK, bright eye catching pics and you even got the ‘heart’ from the topic in the pic.
KZ, I hadn’t even thought about watermelon for him as sending a huge slice isn’t easy and then I saw these small melons for $1 and had an aha! moment. He has been taking them in a shopping chiller bag with frozen ice pack to keep it cold until required. The other man that works with him is a real ‘never change his ways’ type of person but he surely appreciated that cold melon after laughing at Mr MS for having it. Last laugh on him.
JJ, I enjoy JK’s art room too, some amazing pics on there that we most likely would never know about but for JK posting them. Does the ice fishing take place on your local lake?
AV, I managed to search posts I had made about the lasagna and pretty much know how I did it now. I haven’t made it for so long no that there are just the two of us but you have piqued my taste buds again for some lasagna.
HRH spent the night inside last night at her request but then spent the night waking us every few hours just for cuddles. I couldn’t turn down her requests could I, hence the tired look I am sporting today.

Just finished sweater so it’s next stop is hand-washing (tomorrow) and my next stop is bed.

A bit of a snowstorm outside – “they” didn’t predict this. Just when the streets were clearing up and nice and dry. *Sigh*
