Insurance, be it home, auto or life insurance, offers peace of mind that if something happens, one will be financially protected. Buy it and supposedly one is gambling that something will go wrong. Or don’t buy it, gambling that something will not happen. Not sure how this day should be celebrated, or rather acknowledged. But certain what the insurance companies would probably like us to do!

I love the cat scan! Insurance-you pay for something you hope you never need.

Yay, it’s humpday! We made it!!

Little Peso is growing by leaps and bounds and I have increased his food for the time being. Kittens get all they want to eat and grown cats you need to not overfeed….yeah, tell that to Willow. He sits and sulks while the baby is eating and I have to patrol him.

I really don’t have anything fluffy to say about insurance, so I’ll leave it there… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Another beauteous day before the humidity creeps up and showers are in the offing. I wish it would stay in the 80’s with low humidity, but that’s not what summer is I guess, I’ll just have to deal with it. I’m enjoying my windows being open for the moment, and the cats are too!

    Bargain insurance, heh. :/
Well, baby Aslan has roundworms, sigh. I suspected as much when I dropped off the poop sample. 1 dose of meds now and another in 3 weeks. Hoping my cats don’t have them too. I actually look at everything I scoop and haven’t seen anything other than what I saw in Aslan’s that one time.
It’s beautiful here in Jersey! Went to baby Tyler’s house to get the meds from my sister and went for a walk with her. Tyler doesn’t like to sleep but will sleep in the stroller.

Poor wee Aslan. But meds should take care of prob.

KZ, me neither re insurance. The household policy (which I hope to never need) is worth it IMHO, as I did get a decent payout for whatever I had that got ruined in my freezer during the famous “Ice Storm ’98”. When I was at “that place” we had insurance coverage. After, I realized that I was paying more than I was ever getting back, ie dental insurance, so after careful thought I cancelled it. Our governmental health coverage works for me.

Still waiting on project. At least I heard back and was asked to be patient while they get things together. I can do that.

Seems a bit chilly outside for time of year. And “they” threaten rain, probably the sec that I head out to gym. Note to self: bring srs umbrella.

Allegedly tomorrow we sorta move into new locker room. Sorta, ’cause now they have to do srs reno on posh locker room, like several months work. Our smaller rental lockers will be in the hall for now. Not a biggie (‘cept for some whiners.) My plan is to bring my important stuff home tonite, just in case things are not sorted out tomorrow am. Don’t want to find myself on a wild hunt for my locker and esp spin shoes! I checked out the reno and IMHO looks kewel. Black/white/metallic, plus more outlets for my necessities, ie I bring my own blow dryer as the ones provided are way heavy, and of course I need xtra plug for my all-important flat iron. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmm…wasn’t planning on posting today on “hot topic” looming in US…but, found reason to:
    Pet Insurance
Pet Insurance…Pro/Con/s on having some for your purry/furries…
I personally never took a plan for kits…Paws crossed for their good health until later in life…Since I do not have indoor/outdoor kits anymore decided to pass up on option.
Well, its grey/drizzly today…not a purrfect forecast for our first day of Summerfest as 50th anniversary. I’m sure it won’t put too much of a damper on the festival goers!

OK, time for pm cuppa fave brew, mwah – thanks Tux…later!

KJ has been asked to be patient? Hmmm…
Sounds like some kewel new digs at the gym!
Never had insurance for the cats. Wished I did when Leela was in the hospital for 5 days.
I’ll be working the next 2 days, but will do some low key stuff this weekend. Maybe cocktails by the pool/lake/backyard, and some grilling. Wish all the cats would come inside, but they are smart, and will probably hide when the fireworks start.
    Inside, Leela will growl…
Going down the shore is pretty much an insane thought, as the beaches will be jammed. Staying in the mountains sounds good to me!
JK, if I don’t get back here tomorrow or Friday, I wish you a fabulous vacay with the kits and safe travels!

I know JJ, it’s a challenge for me. *Sigh* But “enfin” (finally) I received and just translated first text. Probably was nervous to see how it would go, but I have been working with this cultural org for quite a few yrs on vol and sometimes paid basis and know all the deets. Took little time, so now I feel bit better about all this.

Never took out pet insurance either. Prob based on own insurance decision. G-d forbid I ever run into a situation with Dorry, goes without saying that I’d just pay.

Agreed, KJ. Shaddo’s meds for hyperthyroidism were pricey, even moreso because I had them compounded into transdermal form, but they helped him for several years so it was worth every penny.

At least I don’t have to buy healthcare insurance. A friend in NYC who is also a freelancer has to pay a fortune. Obviously, we pay for it via our taxes.

But I’d love to have access to dental insurance. Unfortunately that important part of our bodies isn’t covered (I beleive there is some coverage in original UK NHS).

I live in a co-op and we are required to have household insurance, but we also get a very good rate from the co-op association, and it is a (small) deduction from my bank account every month. I didn’t have insurance during the ice storm, but didn’t happen to lose anything either, as my power was only intermittently cut.

As for pet insurance, is it a good idea?

Lagatta, you’d have to rsch various companies/plans for pet insurance as well as purrson insurance, ie dental rates.

In Ice Storm ’98 I claimed food spoilage. Had to leave apt as in no heat/electricity and when weather began to clear there was danger of a gas leakage in bldg! I am grateful that some friends offered me hospitality for about a week, but valuing my privacy and my own surroundings, it was quite difficult. This was in the Winter before I became owned by my first efur kit, ’cause in that scenario I don’t know what I would have done.

If anyone recalls our TDK backpacks, well that’s what I’ll be toting my gym gear in tomorrow am. But no whack bonk stick hehehe. I just don’t trust that the maintenance peeps will have our temporary rental lockers in place when I arrive and I don’t want to be rounding up a posse to find my spin shoes/hair dryer/flat iron/toiletries, etc. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I thought about getting pet insurance. After I looked at the monthly prices I decided to set aside that amount each month so I would have what I need ICO emergency.

    Happy Vaca JK! ๐Ÿ˜†

Poor widdle Aslan has to stay at his foster home a little longer.

My nephews’ birthday is the 3rd so drinking and party will start on Sunday, maybe even Saturday through Tuesday, I’m sure. hehe

I like that they got back to you, KJ. I’m glad you got part of job because now you know what to expect.

I don’t like sweaters for me but I want the see the sweater when you’re done.

Not sure what to do for the Weekend Cafe…hmm
