A day to demonstrate our crafty skill! They say no two snowflakes are alike. Then it should come as no surprise, that there are seemingly countless different snowflake designs. Templates abound, from fast and easy patterns, to intricate time consuming designs to challenge the most practiced “snowflaker”.

Oh, the kitties in the snow, so cute! Within reason, of course, as a homeless or lost snow covered kitty is certainly not cute. Hubby and I have always referred to snowy cats as bundt cakes! Smokie, our first cat in our married life, loved the snow. She was a long hair black cat and she loved to dive through the snow like a dolphin through the ocean waves. Then she’d come in and want to be dried off.

Hi JK – I found the card! Thanks for bringing snowflake making patterns to the café; agency kits are setting up card tables and getting out scissors and paper. By the end of the day the café will be decorated with lots of snowflakes hanging from the ceiling. Some will probably be sparkly too, for crafty things often involve glitter!

Almost had a guest or two in the house last night, besides Dewey, of course. Star came in and though she didn’t venture far from the back door, was content to sit just inside. She was upset because Berta was in the shelter with the heated pad. (I sure wish this family of cats would snuggle.) When she got restless I opened the door. She went out and Berta came out of the shelter and in the house. Berta has been in more than Star, and knows where the food is. She hopped up on a chair and sat there for quite a while. As I was getting ready for bed she headed for the door, so she went out. Everyone came for breakfast this morning, including Mama Cat. I hope they wake up earlier for the next three days, as I’ll be heading out to work early, and tomorrow is my long day.

    Happy snowflake making everyone!

Paw up waves to Joan/Joisey Kittehs!
Agree…kits in snow look cut but…better inside if you can/they oblige!
Last nite Maine Coon MC/Mac was outside all fluffed up as I was putting out more kibble and fresh water – before it froze…he’s a bit more tame/didn’t run when I said hello ~ no sign of Kiki or Otto – but Mr. Ott has been around more frequently…even rubbed my leg and chattered w/me few days ago – Yay!

Well, it’s now +5…was -5 earlier this AM…progress. OK, now back to part 2 day 3’s fun…back on the flip!

snerflecks! 😆 It started at 4f/-15c but now it’s 44f/6c. The wind just picked up though. I decided there’s nothing important enough for me to do so I’m staying in my comfy PJs.

    Ok JK – Sopapilla.

    Have a happy~

Livia darted out the front door as I retrieved a cheque – she went all the way down the stairs, though I’m terrified of her going out in front where there is traffic. She looked a bit unhinged, WTF is going on, am I on Mars? A bit of snow doesn’t fase her but it is about -20c. The ridge of fur on her back was pointing up. I shut the door (which has a large window) and walked up the stairs, but it wasn’t long until she was crying to return to relative warmth (though I’m wearing four layers of clothing).

She looked a bit like the first kitten in the photos, though tiny as she is, she is a cat, not a kitten.

There are far too many bluidy snowflakes, I’m certainly not about to make paper ones.

This cr*p seems to be throughout eastern North America…

BTW gifted some Rum/Eggnog Bottles of stuff to elderly Aunts on Christmas ~ always look for it from Santa’s Helper as Moi! 😉

I don’t care for it enough to buy a bottle for myself – prefer coffee/Kahlua infused Libation instead!

Cat’s name would be Toast! 😉

    Invisibul Kit callie is adorable!

Those snowflake patterns are way too complicated for me.

Yes PG rice is my friend for now. And strong tea, and poached eggs and the ubiquitous toast. Tried to eat normally (for me) yest – srsly bad plan. I am being “watched over” as I cannot afford to be eating so little and I feel like eating real food, but the results are most unpleasant. But said purrson understands me in that it is pointless to suggest that I give gym a miss.

I did buy some eggnog but think that I’ll give it a miss.

On bright side I arrived home just before postman brought my new black coat. It’s lovely and I look like a tiny Basement Cat in it as the faux fur trimmed hood fits purrfectly (for a change.) And tag says it’s warmth factor is -8F (-22C) so should be good for current deep freeze.

    This be it!

I have decided that maxi length coats are a bad plan as they get all mucked up and frayed at the hemline. I don’t wear pants, but with a skirt and warm tights and knee-high or over the knee boots it’s fine. My old black coat will go to charity bin.

Did have good mtg with Associate Fitness Director at gym where we discussed some of my issues, which other peeps haven’t got the balls to do so they complain to me, I just don’t get it.

So now I have a nice big box that Dorry could play in so of course he is ignoring it completely. 🙄

And the cold is dastardly, but I dress in warm layers, with hight boots and double up on the gloves and walk speedily and it’s not all that bad. What gets me is peeps who complain when they drive from heated garage to heated garage with nary a foot set outdoors! *Sigh*

Think that I am going to lie down for a bit. l8r.

I made it to the cafe! YAY! my new cat’s name would be Shortbread! I made some for Christmas, and wonder why I don’t make it more often. It’s so very easy to make with few ingredients, and seriously delicious! I guess it wouldn’t be special if I made it all the time.

#$(*&!! it’s cold outside!! I put my pj’s on after being out for a bite to eat with sis and brother in law and hubby. Then he had to take my tire in and have it fixed bc after putting air in it almost every day, today it was flat–also because it was so cold outside and it makes the tire pressure go down. Well, it’s good to go now, so I need to thank him for that.

I have been keeping a water bowl on the porch for my cats and any other assorted beasts who want it, but also have a heated water bowl by the garage that is always thawed out–the birds like it too. They have also found out that if the cats don’t eat all of their crunchies, that it makes for great bird food too. Oh well, they need extra fat in these brutal temperatures.

I don’t like long coats either; I feel that they weigh me down and slow me down walking. However in this climate coats and long jackets must cover our rears; it makes a huge difference in staying warm.

Oh Livia, stay inside, it’s too cold!
JK, I like Kahlua once in a while too, in my hot chocolate! Although I like rum, I usually don’t put it in my eggnog. Since I only have it once a year I enjoy eggnog straight up, on the rocks. (3 ice cubes, never 2, never 4!) Well, maybe this weekend if there’s any left.
Nice coat, KJ! Hope you feel better soon. Tummy issues are the pitts.

Mmmmm, your Kahlua and coffee looks simply delish! I’ve never had Kahlua and hot chocolate.

You can try these foods too, KJ:

Bananas, Ginger or Mint tea, yogurt and low sodium chicken soup.

It must be racing out the door day. I’m glad Livia came right back in but your heart was beating double time. Miss Moppet decided to race out back. She stepped in the snow and couldn’t shake her paws fast enough to get it off. That’s when I got her.

    Tks JJ and PG!

Bananas, nope or chicken soup as no meat/poultry in this grrrls nomz stock. I’m going to ask re yogurt as I thought that milk products were not a good plan and cheese last nite was a very bad idea.

I did discover some ginger/lemon tea and peppermint tea and might be an idea. Right now I need the tea that has some caffeine in it.

But I did catnap for a bit which energized me ever so slightly.

Mmm, shortbread! The birds sometimes nibble at any crunchies that may be left out by the cats here too. I miss feeding the birds, but I figure it’s not nice to invite birds to a yard where several cats roam.

I’ve got a guest this evening. Berta came in a few hours ago and hasn’t shown any interest in leaving. Hmmm…
