So here’s my menorah with all 8 candles lit as last nite was last nite of holiday. Dorry is supurrvising. FYI crosstitch above is one of 2 that I did for Sabbath (Hebrew lettering), from before I took up knitting, which now supersedes all other handicrafts.

And now menorah is all cleaned up and back in cabinet for another year.
With thanks to my TDK family for all the fun holiday pics, vid, cards, greetings, etc. 🙂

Happy Christmas Eve! I am trying to pull together the energy to get up and do some wrapping. I am working a late shift tonight, so plenty of time before I have to head to work. Dru will be banished from the room as she cannot behave around scissors, paper and sellotape. She is so funny that I would just let her get involved but the process would last twice as long and I really don’t like wrapping that much. I re-decorated the Christmas tree last night, after the Druster’s mistreatment of it. Also put better lights on it (that don’t flash alarmingly all the time). Many decorations are missing and I do not know where Dru has stashed them. I did my best with knotted bead garlands and robins missing tail feathers. Needless to say, I had a helper. I laughed. A lot. It is her tree really!
Today I plan to be industrious! I hope…….

Good evening, love the kitties having eggnog fun, I’ve never had eggnog, it’s not something we do here with the Christmas season being in Summer.
KJ, lovely pic of your Menorah all lit with Dorry assisting, and the cross stitch on the wall.
    Judith, Happy Christmas Eve.
Airy and I have done a massive Hazeling job followed by a cook-a-thon and then a wrap-a-thon. I’m done as much as possible tonight and I’m just waiting for the washing machine to finish so then I can go to bed. It’s 5 minutes to midnight.

Good Morning/Afternoon KJ & Judith. Nighty night MS. I enjoy a bit of egg nog, but only a wee bit in a small glass, and it must be ice cold! I did not buy any this year, but there is a bottle of the spiked stuff left over from last year. Perhaps will open that later.
It’s a foggy Christmas Eve here, looks like Rudolph will be helping out tonight.
    KJ, your Menorah is beautiful!
Hope your day is as industrious as you plan it to be, Judith. Yes, the tree really is Dru’s!

Here too Joan, as looks to be a “wet” as opposed to “white” Xmas, with temps rising above the expected for time of year. Never tried egg nog. Could, as some brands have kosher certification, interestingly enough. Saw one brand as candy cane flavoured. Considered it for a quick minute, then thought it might be just that reminiscent of “Pepto-Bismol”, so purrhaps not, if desired would try out a more traditional as original flavour, no rum please! LOL. Now out to start day as (relatively) early spin class, which might be packed as holiday schedule sees many classes cut. Then again lots of peeps away, so we’ll see. L8R!

Haven’t had nog in quite awhile. My relatives enjoy it – usually take a bottle or two of the potent stuff for them during Holiday visit!

R’s dtr Char is coming in town on Friday so that will continue with Holiday/her birthday week fun!

Such a dreary day, good thing it’s holiday time to brighten up the place! Another reason why I like TDK land – so bright and cheery.

Merry Christmas JK – see you Friday!

Happy Christmas Eve Day to those who celebrate! Love the egg nog photos. Grew up with my grandad making it every year with whiskey, not rum. The kids all had a glass and nobody thought anything of it. I know how to make it, but you sort of have to have a crowd, so I buy store bought. Have some in the fridge waiting to be served in the cute egg nog cups we found in the garage recently.

Thanks for sharing your menorah pic with us, KJ. Very pretty.

Presents are wrapped and in laws are on their way. As soon as Eko leaves my lap I’ll change sheets and start chopping for chicken chili tonight.

Sorry that I missed you JK – will catch up as Friday! Love the chorus o’ kits.
    Hi Joan *waves*,
Guess most peeps are frisking about getting ready for big day. Well not me, obviously LOL. Pouring out here, been like this all day like “where’s the Ark that’s supposed to save us?” Plus driver (I think intentionally), totally splashed me to where I had to strip down and throw togs in wash. For sure not the worst thing, but still.
Decided to challenge my non-cooking skills with easy-peasy recipe as salmon fillets dipped in milk then in mix of mayo/mustard/chives. The fishies are going to the freezer for now but they actually came out looking good.
So I’ll probably stop in later but for now will wish everyone a pleasant Xmas Eve, wherever and whomever it finds you with! 😀

Happy Christmas eve to all who wish and a wonderful holiday to those who don’t celebrate!! Took oldest granddaughters to our favorite candle store all done up with Christmas stuff and smell goods, they had so much fun shopping for their mother! I told them we couldn’t buy the store out (they really have no perception of the cost of things) but they delight in thinking of her unwrapping their carefully chosen gifts…makes me teary.
KJ, loved your beautiful Menorah with Dorry as backdrop, or maybe it was the other way around, LOL and would love to see a close up of your cross stitch on the wall. I used to do counted cross stitch, and was quite good at it too. I now have forgotten probably everything I had learned doing it, it’s been so long since I’ve done one… 😐
Judith, hope you got your wrapping done–I don’t enjoy wrapping either and my girls like to do it with me, and that helps a lot. The cats are no help at all, but then you know the score LOL!
Joan,it’s dreary and foggy here too, but the temps are to drop late this afternoon, and I’ll start another fire in the woodburner to keep us toasty. It was so warm today I watered and misted plants and put them on the porch for the day! They LOVED it! Weird weather, but I’m not complaining. The next two months could deliver a hefty helping of nasty stuff and we won’t dig out until spring.. 🙄
To my TDK family~stay safe and warm celebrating with family and friends and furries! Be good to yourselves too and I will check in with you all tomorrow!

*skids into café* Think I’ll have a little glass of egg nog, spiked please! I don’t know what the bottled stuff I have is made with, I’ll have to look.
This does NOT feel like Christmas in New Jersey! It’s rainy and seeing as I’m doing stuff, it’s downright hot! The woodburner is necessary, though; it keeps the dampness out and creates that cozy environment we’re supposed to have on Christmas Eve. Of course, I go into the closet next to it to get one thing and there’s an avalanche. Coupled with a nosey Comet. I’m a bit OCD when it comes to storing canned foods and emergency stuff, and it didn’t help when one of the cat carriers comes down too. Sitting next to an open window now, ahh, much better!

Howdy all!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE, or Happy Christmas Day, and wishing all a wonderful, fun filled day…. 🙂
Just had a frozen Margarita pizza with Pepsi, while watching Christmas movies and getting caught up on this thread. So nice to hear from everyone!!! Love all the cat pix and enjoyed hearing about what everyone is up to tonight! Work was a ZOO today, but the day went by fast. Couldn’t WAIT to get home so I could relax. Ah….
Now eating dessert…. LINDT Lindor truffles…. a NEW flavor of Hazelnut milk chocolate. Very tasty! But, white chocolate is still my very favorite one. But, they were out… 🙁

    Hi KZ and BB *waves*,
Popping in again for a sec, way quiet here, not surprisingly. Our semblance of snow is for the most part gone, it has poured all day and every once in a while the lights flicker, which does not please me.
BB, sounds like it’s nice and cosy in your place and that dessert sounds scrumptious, “real” chocolate is best IMHO.
KZ, nice that you can enjoy the holiday with kids and grandkids! I will try to get a close-up of crosstitch. used to do so much of it and needlepoint too, as in many framed pics and many cushions. I should try to pick it up again. Just that with knitting the result is something wearable and it’s a much more portable hobby. Purrhaps I might make some bookmarks as fast in-between project.
Anyway, I’d best go see about scaring up some nomz as Dorry has been fed and if power does go out I will not be happy camper as would be unable to heat up anything.
Will be in L8R to open Xmas Day Café and will be in tomorrow. Gym opens at noon and no spin classes so will have to go the DIY route with own program and music, then I have an appt. But the week seems strange what with no mail and like no one in the streets and stores closed.
First I think that I’ll relax by the TDK fireplace and pet a kitty … or 2 … or 3 … join me if you like!

Watching “A BUCKNELL CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS” on the public channel with a gorgeous choir, Bell choir, and pipe organ. I watch this each year and just adore it!!!!! Before that I saw Laurence Welk’s Christmas and OH, those kids were just too cute singing away the Christmas songs… Awww……
Treated myself today to a heavy duty, clear, plastic, HUGE (12″) snowflake decoration. Hung it in the window and it looks lovely! The store also had small ones I was eyeing up days ago and then they got in the HUGE ones and I just HAD to have one! Got one for young neighbor also, to match mine, to go along with her other gifts. 🙂 May pick up a couple more for next year’s gifts for my other two special little girls. Already sent their boxes out, and they have them for tomorrow. 🙂

KJ, I’ve always thought it must be strange for the world to shut down for a holiday you don’t celebrate. Guess it will be a peaceful day for you.

BB, your snowflake sounds pretty and your pizza/dinner routine sounds like my kind of evening.

Hi, Joan and KZ…nice to see you here this Christmas Eve Day…well, night now.

In laws are here and they are using the boys’ bedrooms so all four of us (and three cats) are having a slumber party in the master bedroom. Very nice that it is big enough for floor space for a couple of twin sized inflatable mattresses. At least one of my boys is still awake because I see his book light under his covers…lol. Sometimes they don’t get much sleep on Christmas Eve.
